Estic orgullós d'anunciar oficialment la meva 6a Reunió Oficial de Boxa Amateur que tindrà lloc el març 18 al Monique's Lounge de Harlem, Nova York. Estic esperant amb diferència el resultat més gran de qualsevol dels anteriors 5 reunions que es van celebrar dues vegades a Rival Boxing a Las Vegas, una vegada a Jimmy's Corner a Manhattan i una vegada cadascun als casinos Mohegan Sun i Foxwoods de Connecticut.
Del més 100 boxejadors que assisteixen fins aquí, entre ells espero els gustos 1988 Plata medallista olímpic Riddick Big Daddy Bowe, Campió dels Guants d'Or de Nova York “Verí” Júnior Jones, 1984 campió olímpic Mark Breland, 1974 Campió olímpic nacional juvenil Marlon Starling, 1996 Capità de l'equip olímpic dels EUA Lawrence d'Clay-Bey i 1988 Campió Nacional de Guants d'Or Marc “Too Sharp” Johnson.
A les meves reunions anteriors, inclosa la més recent celebrada a la Rival Boxing Store de Las Vegas Novembre 18, hem tingut persones com Roy Jones Jr., Àlex “El Bombarder del Bronx” Ramos, 1992 Montell Griffin d'Olympia, els excampions del món tres vegades Mike McCallum i Iran Barkley, i “El lluitador” i l'irlandès Micky Ward assistents.

Qualsevol mitjà de comunicació que vulgui assistir a l'esdeveniment a Harlem, Nova York el març 18 són més que benvinguts per formar part de les festes.
This will be my 4th official amateur boxers reunion, with the first three having taken place in Las Vegas (Desembre 2014), Ciutat de Nova York (Juny 2015) and Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut (Juliol 2015).
Boxers who have attended previous reunions include the likes of four-time world champion Roy Jones Jr., three-time world champions Mike “El llastrador de cos” McCallum and Iran “La fulla” Barkley, WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster, former WBC light heavyweight champion Montell “gel” Grifó, 1988 U.S. Olympic coach Kenny Adams.
I’ve had this idea to bring my former amateur peers together for many years and in December of 2014 at the Rival Boxing Store in Las Vegas I finally had my first amateur boxers reunion and it was a tremendous success. Since then I’ve had two more (at Jimmy’s -Glenn- Corner on W. 44ª St. in NYC and at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut)successful gatherings that have seen everyone from local amateurs, regional Golden Gloves champions, National AAU champions, campions del món, Olympians and every other possible level of amateur boxer.
I had originally planned to have boxers from my Olympic trials class (1988)gather for a reunion but changed it to any era or level. On that end we’ve had boxers ranging from 1976 A.A.U. National champion Bret Summers from Washington State and 1976 Jamaican Olympian Mike McCallum all the way up to 2004 U.S. Olímpic Jason Estrada.
Basically it’s a chance for us to get together, reminisce, tell stories, see old friends, meet people we’ve never met before. Maybe the best example of what my reunions entail came at the 2015 event at Foxwoods when I had Hartford’s Luis Ortiz and Lawrence Clay-Bey meet for the very first time since they boxed each other as young kids at Marc Anthony’s in Hartford way back in 1977!
