To spar with a high caliber fighter like him has made me a sharper and stronger fighter. I have fought 10 rounds twice, but it was always short notice. I’ve been never was prepared for it, but this camp I have sparred 10 rounds multiple time against a world class sparring partner who said he’s already in fight shape when we started sparring.”
Because of that kind of camp, Nguyen feels he has the best opportunity for this win.
“I feel strong and mentally fresh and in good spirits. I know the hard work has already been done in the gym, sparring and the road work. God has a plan for me and it seems like everything is falling into place the last couple weeks of camp.. Je me sens bénie, and ready to give the fans a great show so please tune in.”
Nguyen, who has been a professional for 13 ans, knows that a win over Flores will put him in position the major fight that he has been coveting for years,

Houston’s Miguel Flores Headlines Against Tough Contender Dat Nguyen In Televised Action Beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT
HOUSTON (Février 14, 2017) – Unbeaten super lightweight Darwin Price (11-0, 6 KOs) enters the ring against tough contender Hylon Williams (16-3-1, 3 KOs) while fast-rising prospect Brandon Figueroa (10-0, 7 KOs) meets Miami’s Raul Chirino (10-4, 5 KOs) as part of an exciting night of action on Premier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toesur FS1 et Champions de boxe sur Fox Deportes Mardi, Février 21 from Silver Street in Houston, Texas.

Price and Williams will meet in an eight-round super lightweight fight while Figueroa is set to battle Chirino in a six-round super bantamweight fight. Additional action will feature once-beaten unbeaten super flyweight Damien Vazquez (9-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round bout and Russia’s Medzhid Bektemir (18-1, 12 KOs)in a four-round light heavyweight fight.
Rounding out the night is unbeaten welterweight prospect Eduardo Garcia in a four-round battle and once-beaten middleweight Junior Castillo in a six-round bout against Mexico’sJuan Carlos Rojas.
Originaire de St. Louis, Price’s road has led him to Houston where he now trains with noted coach Ronnie Shields. An exceptional athlete who was highly regarded in track and field as a teenager, the 26-year-old turned pro in 2013. His activity ramped up in 2015 as he took home four victories before 2016 saw him earn impressive victories over previously unbeaten Semajay Thomas and once-beaten Javontae Starks. He will be opposed by the 26-year-old Williams who was an alternate on the 2008 U.S.. Olympic team and has gone the distance in losses to world champions Rances Barthelemy and Yuriorkis Gamboa.
The brother of former world champion Omar, the 20-year-old Figueroa turned pro in May of 2015 by defeating Hector Gutierrez and followed that up by stopping Ricardo Mena, Ramiro Ruiz and Francisco Muro to close out the year. The Weslaco-native has stayed busy in 2016, picking up six victories, including five by way of stoppage. He takes on Miami’s Chirino, who enters this bout with wins in three of his last four contests.

ASHLEY “TREASURE” THEOPHANE GETS THE WIN OVER YAKABU AMIDU BY UNANIMOUS DECISION IN MAYWEATHER PROMOTIONS SIN CITY SHOWDOWN

LAS VEGAS (Décembre. 3, 2016) – Ashley “Trésor” Théophane (40-7-1, 11KO ) face Yakabu Amidu (19-9-2, 17 KO ) en 10 rounds of action in the main event of Mayweather Promotions’ Sin City Showdown Vendredi nuit. Theophane came out focused and on cue with his game plan, he was able to deflect most of Amidu’s punches and break his opponent down. It was a steady 10 tours d'action, Theophane was able to break Amidu down with consistent jabs and body punches aiming consistently at his target, round after round. Amidu struggled to read Theophane, which ultimately led to Theophane to his 40th win, par voie de décision unanime.
“It feels great to have a career that’s lasted this long, he made it easy to stick to my game plan. I listened to my corner who guided me and kept me on track, I couldn’t be happier with the decision,” Saïd Théophane.
“I knew he was going to be a good opponent, I didn’t perform my best,” says Amidu. “This fight should have been in my favor, but in the end the judges decided the winner.”
Leading up to the main event, was a fast-paced blow-by-blow welterweight exchange between Mayweather Promotions’ power-puncher Maurice Lee (7-1, 3 KO) et Cameron Kreal (9-12-2, 1 KO). As soon as the first bell rang Krael jumped out his corner quickly putting the pressure on Lee, while Lee searched to find his groove. Krael kept delivering punches, forcing Lee to fight on the defense. By the beginning of the fifth round, Lee found an opening, landing jabs and uppercuts affecting Krael. En fin de compte, Lee couldn’t seem to land enough of what normally seems like easy jabs against the quick moving and strong Cameron Krael. Après 6 rounds of action the judges saw the bout in favor of Krael by unanimous decision, giving Lee the first loss of his career.
“I only had one week to prepare for this fight, the results ultimately showed how much more experience and fights under my belt, I had over my opponent,” says Krael. “I broke him down round by round, he never had a chance.”
“My game plan was to box smart, I knew he had a lot of experience so I knew I had to be smart in the ring.” Lee reflects on his performance and goes on to say, “I thought the fight was a lot closer than what the judges ruled. I definitely could have thrown more punches. We both took a lot of punches in the end. This was a learning experience and I just gotta come back harder.”
The night began with a full Mayweather Promotions showcase serving back-to-back, non-stop undercard action. Newly signed lightweight amateur Rolando Romero (1-0, 1 KO)got the first win of his career in the first round, by TKO against David Courtney(1-5, 1KO) after only one minute and eleven seconds of action. Also making his Mayweather Promotions debut Oluwafemi “The Eagle” Oyeleye (1-0) got the first win of his career, by way of unanimous decision in a 4-round Jr. middleweight showdown against Brian True (1-5, 1 KO). Léger Andres Cortes (4-0, 2 KO) furthered his undefeated record against Miguel Espinoza (3-2, 1 KO) après 4 tours d'action. The night continued on as Latondria Jones (5-0, 2 KO) kept her undefeated record in tact against Selena Arellano (1-2-, 1 KO), judges ruled the 4 Jr de ronde. middleweight bout in Jones favor by UD. LAS VEGAS (Novembre. 9, 2016) – Sharif “Le lion” Bogere (29-1, 20 KO) est de retour en action après une victoire sans faute du TKO au cinquième tour contre Luis Florez en septembre 16e. Bogere devra faire face Hylon Williams (16-3-1, 3KO) dans une bataille légère de 10 rounds en décembre 2Dakota du Nord à Sam's Town Live dans l'événement principal. Une victoire pour Bogere portera sa séquence de victoires à sept et le rapprochera d'une opportunité de titre.
“J'ai hâte; comme “Le lion” tu m'entendras 'rugir’ en décembre 2Dakota du Nord,” dit Bogère. “Je pense que ma performance lors du dernier combat a donné aux fans ce qu'ils voulaient voir, J'ai gagné plus de fans, mais le plus important, J'étais concentré. Ce combat me rapprochera encore plus d'un combat pour le titre, et c'est pour ça que je suis là,”
“Je suis face à un adversaire coriace, mais j'ai déjà été sur le ring dans des batailles difficiles et j'ai appris de ces expériences,” a déclaré Williams. “Je ne vois pas grand-chose se mettre en travers de mon chemin pour que je l'empêche de venir 2 décembre,”
D'autres actions verront l'ancien challenger du titre Ashley “Trésor” Théophane (39-7, 12 KO) en cas de co-principal, qui a clairement indiqué qu'il est ici pour la rédemption. Théophane, qui devait à l'origine figurer sur la dernière carte Sin City Showdown sur 8 octobre a pris ce temps pour s'entraîner plus dur, devenir plus concentré et est prêt à surpasser les performances et à remporter la victoire.
