Hernandez Returns to the Ring This Saturday

STEG, TX (Februari 14, 2018) – Mellanvikt utsikter, Marcos “Madman” Hernandez (11-1, 3 Kos), returns to the ring this Saturday, Februari 17, 2018, mot Jeison Rosario (14-1, 11 Kos). The 8-round bout will take place at the Don Haskins Center on the UTEP campus in El Paso, Texas.
Televised täckning börjar på 8 p.m. OCH/5 p.m. PT and is headlined by a 12-round duel between former welterweight world champions Victor Ortiz och Devon Alexander. Biljetter till evenemanget, som främjas av TGB Erbjudanden, are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
Here is what Marcos Hernandez has to say about his upcoming fight with Rosario…
On his current training camp…
“This is my third training camp out here in Riverside with my trainer Henry Ramirez, who took over the lead in my corner a few fights ago. It’s been great getting the proper sparring needed to take my career to the next level. I’m feeling strong and sharp. Everything has come together, and I’ll be at my best denna lördag in El Paso.”
On facing opponent tough Jeison Rosario…
“Rosario is a very tough opponent who possesses a lot of power in both hands. He likes to go for the knockout, so I will have to be ready for everything he’s coming with. I know he’s hungry but so am I. This will be a fight for the fans, as we are both going to leave everything in the ring.”
On what a victory will do for his career…
“A win against Rosario will get me one step closer to my ultimate goal of fighting for a world title. I’ve been in tough fights since I turned pro and its prepared me for fights like the one I’m in now. I’m ready step it up and show the world I have what it takes to be an elite fighter, and a world champion.”
On fighting on another big PBC card in El Paso…
“I’m sure El Paso will have a lively crowd attending denna lördag. I know there will be a lot of Mexican’s in the house, so I must represent my people. I’m very happy to be fighting on another big PBC card. It’s a blessing to be part of the PBC family and I promise to impress those that will be watching.”

WBO Champion Amanda Serrano calls out IBF Champion Jennifer Han for a world title unification bout

På April 22, 2016, history was made in Puerto Rico’s professional boxing, when a female boxing match was the featured bout of the evening, held in the city of Trujillo Alto, where the four-time world champion in three divisions, Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano ( 28-1-1, 21 KO: s ) defeated the number 6th ranked, Edina ‘DNA’ Kiss of Budapest, Hungary by TKO in the fourth round.
Just a week later, IBF featherweight world champion, Jennifer Han of El Paso, Texas, was also in a main event match in front of her people from El Paso, and defeated Colombian, Calixta Silgado via unanimous decision in a ten round fight.
“I think the timing is perfect!” Amanda Serrano said, “We both come from recent fights, both of us scored victories and are uninjured and in great condition. Women’s boxing and our fans deserve to see who is the best featherweight in a unification bout”.
Ha ( 14-3-1, 1 KO: s ) has fought her last four fights in her hometown of El Paso, Texas.
“It’s funny because a few weeks ago I had my first fight in Puerto Rico, and have fought in the United States, Schweiz, Argentina and Dominican Republic. True Champions often leave their comfort zone to prove they are the real deal in boxing. Jag är alltid redo,” Said Serrano, who is the current WBO featherweight World Champion.

STEG, TX (Juli 19, 2015) – I sin första 8-runda bout, obesegrade Super-Fjäder sensation, Mario Barrios (10-0, 5 Kos), kryssade till en sund seger mot Arturo Esquivel (9-3, 2 Kos), to record his tenth win. The impressive conquest took place this past Lördag på Don Haskins Center i El Paso, Texas på PBC på CBS händelse, rubricerades av Carl Frampton vs. Alejandro Gonzalez Jr.

 

Genom att använda hans enorma höjd och når fördel, Barrios controlled the action with a long jab and precise combinations. Esquivel, som var det naturligt större mannen, kunde inte landa några rena slag på Barrios, who won every round. Scorecards read 80-72 över hela linjen.

 

“Going åtta omgångar för första gången var en stor lärande upplevelse för mig.” Said Mario Barrios, som hanteras av Al Haymon. “I was able to pace myself throughout the entire fight and never got tired. I could have gone four more rounds if this was a twelve round fight. Esquivel is a very tough fighter and I’m glad we both came out healthy. I’ll be ready to get back in the ring as soon as Haymon has another date for me. I’m very thankful for all the opportunities Haymon Boxing has given me.”
