DREAM MATCHES, BELLATOR VETERANS & TITLE FIGHTS TOP NEF 29 TARGETA DE LLUITA

Lewiston, Maine (Juny 1, 2017) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) torna a l'Androscoggin Bank Colisee Juny 17 with a fight card featuring both mixed-martial-arts (MMA) i combats de boxa professional. In a highly-anticipated “Superfight,” Maine MMA star Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-9 MMA, 1-0 boxa) will take on Maine’s premier boxer Russell “La sensació haitiana” amor, Jr. (15-2, 7 KOs) in a six-round boxing bout. The fight will be a dream match for fans who never expected to see each sports’ top in-state athletes face one another. Boyington and Lamour have both been featured in nationally-televised bouts on NBC and ESPN in recent years. Lamour is the former New England Middleweight Champion, while Boyington held the NEF MMA Lightweight Title until relinquishing it last year to sign with the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) global promotion.

 

“Bruce and Russell are at the top of their respective games,” noted NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. “Russell is a great boxer, and he’s going to face a superb striker in the form of Taekwondo black belt Bruce Boyington. This is a true dream match for Maine fight fans.”

 

The professional MMA portion of the fight card will feature the long-awaited return of former NEF MMA Featherweight Champion Rayo “Tots els negocis” Fusta (8-3) as he faces Brazilian prospect Alexandre “Culata” Bezerra (19-5). Wood left Maine more than two years ago to re-settle in South Carolina and then Texas. Both Wood and Bezerra are veterans of the Bellator cage with a dozen fights between them for the national promotion.

In addition to the fights, legendary boxer James “Buster” Douglas (38-6-1, 25 KOs) will make an appearance at “NEF 29” as the guest of honor. Douglas will hold an hour-long meet-and-greet with fans at the Colisee from 6 a pm 7 pm prior to the opening bell. Longtime fans will remember Douglas as the architect of the greatest upset in professional sports history with his knockout of “Planxa” Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) a 1990 to claim the world heavyweight title. Douglas halted the 37-fight undefeated streak that opened Tyson’s pro career.

PER PUBLICACIÓ IMMEDIATA: Lewiston, Maine (Maig 19, 2017) – It was once rare for two athletes from different combat sports disciplines to compete against one another. En 1963, legendary catch wrestler and judo practitioner Gene Lebell took on journeyman boxer Milo Savage in a match credited as the grandfather of modern mixed-martial-arts (MMA). Després, a 1976, boxing world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali faced Japanese wrestler and martial artist Antonio Inoki in an exhibition bout in Tokyo broadcast globally on closed-circuit television, a precursor to pay-per-view.

 

Recent years have seen more and more MMA fighters and boxers transition between the two sports. For some time now, rumors have swirled over a potential meeting of boxing mega-star Floyd Mayweather and reigning UFC lightweight kingpin Conor McGregor. Should the bout happen, it will undoubtedly be one of the highest-ever grossing matchups financially. And while both sides work out the details for that contest, Maine fight fans will get their own superfight on Saturday, Juny 17 in Lewiston when Russell “La sensació haitiana” amor, Jr. (15-2, 7 KOs – boxing record) es reuneix Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-9 – MMA record) in a six-round middleweight boxing match. It is not that boxers and MMA fighters have never met each other in Maine in the past. They do often in NEF, which promotes both sports. What makes this a “superfight” is the status of each athlete in the state. En efecte, Lamour and Boyington are to the current local fight scene what Mayweather and McGregor are to the global scene. They are both mega-stars in-state, each with his own army of loyal fans.

 

“With all the talk of McGregor versus Mayweather, it’s an interesting match,” said Lamour’s coach and head of the Portland Boxing Club Bob Russo. “One of the best middleweights in New England in boxing versus one of the best lightweights in New England in MMA . I was pleasantly surprised when we were called out by Boyington. We had been offered a few different opponents that we agreed to and I guess they had second thoughts. Then we got the call that this challenge was on the table. This is something that will create a real buzz among boxing and MMA fans.”

 

Lamour is the face of present-day professional boxing in Maine. He won more than 100 amateur bouts and is an eight-time regional Golden Gloves champion, a five-time New England regional champion and a Bronze Medalist in the 2009 USA Boxing championships among numerous other accomplishments. Lamour competed in the semi-pro World Series of Boxing where he was ranked number-one in the North American middleweight conference. Com a professional, Lamour has been outstanding. He captured the New England Middleweight Title in 2014. Lamour ha competit a ESPN Divendres Night Fights boxing series before a national audience.

 

“I will fight anyone that ends up in front of me,” va dir Lamour. “I respect the MMA fighters, they are all tough guys, but to challenge in the boxing ring is a major mistake. I’ll be in great shape and ready. He better be too!”

He has traveled as far as Russia to fight for major international promotion Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB). With WSOF taking some time to regroup under new ownership as the “Professional Fighters League,” Boyington was looking to stay active while awaiting his next national bout. The opportunity to fight in front of his many hometown fans one more time was irresistible.

 

“Boxing is his game, but I’ve had 25 professional fights and over 100 Taekwondo fights in my time,” Said Boyington. “I’m excited and honored to share the ring with the best boxing has to offer. The only thing I’m ever after is a challenge, and I have one in Russell. Borngod Washington is about as seasoned of a veteran as one will find in the boxing world. The native of Queens, New York has fought in the pro ranks since 2007. Washington’s career highlight came in 2011 when he scored a fourth-round TKO victory over Ricky Dawson (4-1, 1 KO), brother of former light-heavyweight champion of the world Chad Dawson (34-5, 19 KOs). Washington also took current light-heavyweight contender Sean Monaghan (28-0, 17 KOs) the distance in a four-round bout, losing a majority decision on the judges’ quadres de comandament. He currently trains with John Wesley Meekins (25-5-2, 17 KOs) a Nova York. Meekins challenged Meldrick Taylor (38-8-1, 20 KOs) for the IBF Junior Welterweight Title in 1989.

KRAMLICH LOOKING TO PUT ON A SHOW FOR HOMETOWN FANS ON JUNE 17

Casey “Buzzsaw” Estrany (7-0-1, 3 KOs), a native of nearby Gray, Maine, will take on Bryan Goldsby (4-3) in a super welterweight match scheduled for four rounds.

 

Kramlich is coming off the biggest win of his young career. Last month in Rhode Island, Kramlich handed Ray Oliveira, Jr. (7-1, 1 KO), son of former world title challenger Ray Oliveira, Sr. (47-11-2, 22 KOs), la seva primera pèrdua. The majority decision victory was considered somewhat of an upset in that Kramlich had traveled to Oliveira, Jr.’s turf and spoiled the local prospect’s win streak.

Goldsby seems like a seasoned veteran with good experience, but come fight night, he’s in the ring with a young hungry lion. I’ll be ready for war.”

 

I, make no mistake about it, Bryan Goldsby will give Kramlich a war on June 17. A native of Macon, Geòrgia, Goldsby will be right at home fighting next to an MMA cage. He holds a record of 17-16 as a professional mixed-martial-artist. De fet, Goldsby is a four-fight veteran of the Bellator cage and even competed in the promotion’s Season Three bantamweight tournament. Goldsby has had success transitioning to the boxing ring. He won four of his first five bouts via decision before dropping his last two.

VELADO CAPTURES GOLD, HALL RETAINS AT NEF 25

Lewiston, Maine (Setembre 10, 2016) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) held its most-recent event, “NEF 25: HEROIS & VILANS” Dissabte a la nit a l'Androscoggin Bank Colisée de Lewiston, Maine. The event featured both mixed-martial-arts and professional boxing bouts.

Also in the boxing ring, Casey Kramlich (5-0-1) remained undefeated as he stopped Joan Ortolani (0-1) in the fourth round via technical knockout. Likewise, Brandon Montella (5-0) kept his pro record perfect with a second-round stoppage of Tollison Lewis (2-2).

BARRY OUT, ORTOLANI RETURNS TO NEW ENGLAND TO FIGHT KRAMLICH

Lewiston, Maine (Agost 26, 2016) – He has one of the largest and most passionate fanbases of any New England fighter, i ara Joan Ortolani (0-0 boxa, 8-10 MMA) will return to New England Fights (NEF) after a two-and-a-half year absence at “NEF 25: HEROIS & VILANS” a Setembre 10 a Lewiston. John Ortolani has been a fixture of the New England MMA scene since 2009. It is well-documented that Ortolani is a two-sport athlete. In addition to fighting MMA, he is a midfielder in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) where he has played for the Boston Cannons, Rochester Rattlers and Florida Launch. Recent years have seen Ortolani take up residence in Tampa, Florida where he has continued competing in MMA out of South Tampa Jiu-Jitsu & MMA. A native of Billerica, Massachusetts, he looks forward to making the trip north to New England where he will have the opportunity to once again fight closer to home in front of his friends and family.

At the other end of the spectrum, Casey Kramlich has made a second home of the boxing ring. Training out of the Portland Boxing Club in Portland, Maine, Kramlich had an extensive amateur boxing career prior to turning professional in 2014. This past spring he gave Jason Kelly (5-1, 3 KOs) his first taste of defeat in the ring. Kramlich followed up that win with a dominant technical knockout victory over Zenon Herrera (0-2) in the third round of Kramlich’s NEF debut at “NEF 24.”

 

“I’m looking forward to fighting on an NEF card again,” said Kramlich. “I’ve been training hard and ready to put my talent on display. My opponent has a little weight advantage on me, but I plan on using my speed and angles to pick him apart.”

THREE WOMEN’S FIGHTS, TWO TITLE FIGHTS AND NEW FACES FIND A HOME ON NEF 25 CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Agost 19, 2016) Lluites -Nova Anglaterra (NEF) today announced the full fight card for the promotion’s next event, “NEF 25: HEROIS & VILANS.” It is scheduled to take place onDissabte, Setembre 10, 2016 a Lewiston. The dynamic card will feature professional boxing bouts, as well as both professional and amateur mixed-martial-arts (MMA) concursos.

The professional side of the MMA card will feature a total of three Bellator and one Invicta veterans. Bellator 144 competitor Walter Smith Cotito (3-4) returns to Maine after a three-year absence to meet Elias “Danger Mouse” Leland (2-1), mentre Valerie “Valociraptor” Aspaas (0-0) herself returns to Maine after three years to make her pro debut against Invicta 16 veterà Sarah “SwitchKick” Feu clic a (0-1).

 

The amateur MMA card will be headlined by two title fights. Rafael “Deez Nuts” Velat (3-0) adquireix Jimmy Jackson (3-2) for the vacant amateur lightweight title. Amateur bantamweight champion Johnny Artesania (4-0) steps up in weight to challenge Caleb Saló (7-3) for Hall’s featherweight crown.

 

The amateur card will also feature two women’s bantamweight bouts with Brianne Genschell (0-0) i Melissa Trahan (0-0) making their respective cage debut against one another, mentre Jessica “La Viuda Negra” Pagar(2-1) té previst reunir- Rachael Joyce (1-0).

NEW ENGLAND FIGHTS ANUNCIA ELS RESULTATS DE LEWISTON

Lewiston, Maine (Juny 18, 2016) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) va celebrar l'últim esdeveniment de la promoció de la lluita, “NEF 24: TERRA PROMESA” en dissabte nit al Coliseu Banc Androscoggin a Lewiston, Maine. L'esdeveniment va comptar amb una llista completa de boxa professional, arts marcials mixtes amateurs (MMA) i combats professionals de MMA. Gairebé 2,000 va omplir les sales sagrades on Muhammad Ali va defensar una vegada el campionat mundial de pes pesat contra Sonny Liston. Abans de l'inici de l'esdeveniment es va presentar un vídeo homenatge especial en honor a Ali.

 

Per segona vegada des de l'abril, Brandon Berry (11-2-1) i James Lester(11-9-1) va anar a la distància. Aquesta vegada, a diferència de l'últim combat que es va anotar un empat, hi havia un guanyador. Lester està viatjant de tornada a la seva ciutat natal de Detroit, Michigan el nou campió de boxa pes welter del nord-est després de guanyar una decisió unànime.

 

Walker (1-1) i Nicole Burgess (0-1) va mantenir viva la tradició de les baralles de dones robant l'espectacle als esdeveniments de NEF. Lewiston, Maine (Juny 3, 2016) – Serà una celebració de totes les coses americanes quan New England Fights (NEF) torna dissabte a l'Androscoggin Bank Colisée, Juny 18, 2016. La popular promoció de lluita tornarà a oferir als fans una nit completa d'arts marcials mixtes (MMA) i acció de boxa professional.

 

En l'esdeveniment principal de la part de boxa de la carta de lluita, Brandon “El Canó” Berry (11-1-1) defensarà el títol de pes welter júnior del nord-est contra un rival James “El noi dolent de la ciutat del motor” Lectura (10-9-1). Els dos van lluitar per empatar als jutges’ quadres de puntuació l'abril passat a Lewiston. Van acordar la represa amb el títol de Berry a la línia. Aquesta vegada, però, hi haurà un nombre imparell de rondes (set per ser exactes) per reduir molt les possibilitats d'un altre empat.

 

També a la part de boxa de la targeta, antic campió de pes mitjà de Nova Anglaterra dels EUA Russell “La sensació haitiana” amor (13-2) i Casey “El Buzzsaw” Estrany (4-0-1) del Portland Boxing Club de Portland, Maine faran els seus respectius debuts en boxa NEF.

 

Es veurà la part professional de MMA de la targeta Jesse “El Víking” Erickson (6-5) tornar a la gàbia després del seu tercer intent infructuós de capturar el títol de pes lleuger l'abril passat. Erickson tindrà la seva feina per a ell en forma de sempre dur Amos Collins (4-5) amb un pes capturat de 161 lliures.

 

El company d'Erickson, Mate “Ken Nina” Denning (3-2), també veurà acció a la targeta professional de MMA quan es trobi Brandon Bushaw (1-2) en un combat de pes ploma.

 

La targeta amateur de MMA estarà encapçalada per una represa pel títol de pes mosca com Ryan Burgess (2-0) defensa contra l'antic campió, i l'esportista del qual va treure el títol, Dustin Veinott (4-4). La derrota de Veinott davant Burgess la tardor passada per decisió dividida va posar fi a la seva ratxa de quatre victòries consecutives.

HE BUZZSAW ARRIVES IN NEF TO CUT THE COMPETITION DOWN

Lewiston, Maine (Juny 1, 2016) – Just one day removed from the announcement that Russell Lamour, Jr. (13-2, 6 KOs) would make his debut on a New England Fights (NEF) targeta, the fight promotion announced that Lamour’s teammate Casey “El Buzzsaw” Estrany (4-0-1, 2 KOs) would also be featured on the “NEF 24: TERRA PROMESA” professional boxing event. En Juny 18, 2016 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée, Kramlich will face Zenon “K-Bar” Herrera (0-1) in a four-round super welterweight contest.

 

Along with Lamour, Kramlich trains at the Portland Boxing Club in Portland, Maine. Estrany, fins a la data, has yet to taste defeat in the boxing ring as a professional. Earlier this spring, Kramlich handed Boston’s Jason Kelly (5-1) the first loss of his professional career on a fight card in Salem, New Hampshire. He dominated the first two rounds of the fight before the previously-undefeated Kelly was unable to answer the bell to open round three.

 

Last fall, Kramlich fought to a draw against Antonio Chaves Fernandez (6-23-2) on a card in Portland, Maine. It is the only mark outside of the win column on Kramlich’s record. En Juny 18, Kramlich plans to add another notch to that win column at the expense of Zenon Herrera.

 

“I’m very excited to be fighting on an NEF card,” said Kramlich. “Looking forward to putting on a great show for the fans. I’ve been training hard, I’m hungry and I’m looking to come out on top victorious and stay undefeated.”

 

Zenon Herrera is one of only a small handful of athletes to have competed in both the NEF MMA cage and the boxing ring. Herrera made his boxing debut last fall in a losing effort to Tollison Lewis (2-1). En Juny 18, Herrera will be looking for his first win in NEF. He is a veteran of both the United States Army and Marine Corps, després d'haver servit un total combinat de nou anys entre les dues branques militars.
