MONT-REAL (Juliol 23, 2016) – Undefeated No. 1 contendent de pes semipesado Eleider “Tempesta” Alvarez (19-0, 10 KOs) has found a solid boxer to face him on the Juliol 29 targeta, featuring the WBC and lineal world light heavyweight title fight between defending champion Adonis “Superhome” Stevenson (27-1, 22 KOs) i el retador Thomas Williams Jr. (20-1, 14 KOs), al Centre Videotron. WBC Silver light heavyweight champion Alvarez will face New Zealand southpaw slugger Robert “El Carnisser” Berridge (27-4-1, 21 KOs).

Irish Heavyweight Sensation Con Sheenan to fight July 28
Toronto, Ontario, Canadà (Juny 15, 2016) – Six-time Irish amateur champion Cornelius “Con” Sheehan is set to make his Canadian debut against an opponent to be named Dijous, Juliol 28 al Danforth Music Hall de Toronto, Ontario.

Born and raised in Tipperary, Irlanda, Sheenan made his pro debutGener 19 in Los Angeles, TAL COM, outpointing previously unbeaten Jonathan Rice over four rounds. Since the victory, the 6’5 215 pound 27-year-old has been working hard in the gym and was recently in camp with heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Sheenan, who had an incredible 203-18 rècord amateur, won six Irish National Senior Division titles and captured 13 total championships. En 2008, he became the youngest ever heavyweight champion in Irish history at age 18.
“Con Sheenan is a hidden gem who will soon explode onto the heavyweight scene,” said Sheenan’s manager Gary Hyde of Nowhere2Hyde Management. “Con has an extensive amateur pedigree where he won multiple Irish national titles as well as a European Union title. He’s got a very fluid style but loves nothing more than going into the trenches, so he’s an extremely exciting fighter. In a few years, he’ll be right in the mix.”

This event is presented as part of the prestigious “Lliga de Campions de Boxa” (PBC) sèrie, to be broadcast live in the United States, and on Canal Indigo in Canada.

World Championship Boxing: The Next Generation Series Begins July 28 a Toronto

Toronto, Ontario, Canadà (Juny 13, 2016) – Lee Baxter Promotions is proud to announce the start of a new series in Canada “World Championship Boxing: The Next Generation” kicking off Dijous, Juliol 28 at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Ontario.
The series will feature up and coming fighters looking to get to the next level in the near future. Most of the boxers are from Canada but some will travel from various parts of the globe to showcase their skills.
"I’ve had the idea of doing this for awhile and am glad it’s officially coming to fruition,” said Lee Baxter. “Canada has many talented fighters hungry to make it to the next level. Desafortunadament, there aren’t the same amount of opportunities here that there are elsewhere. It also took me awhile to to find the right venue and I’m glad we found it at the Danforth Music Hall here in Tornoto because it’s a great place. The goal of “World Championship Boxing: “The Next Generation” is to provide a platform for fighters that believe they can make a name for themselves and aspire to make it to the top in this sport.”

Lightweight Steven Wilcox of Hamilton, Ontario will fight in the eight round co-feature. With an outstanding 13-1-1 record and five wins by knockout, the slick southpaw fought for the WBC International championship in 2015, battling undefeated Mick Gadbois to a draw. The popular Wilcox has been matched tough the last few years and his lone defeat came via controversial decision.
Tim “The Irish” Cronin, 7-1-1 (2 Nocauts) is scheduled to box in a six round light heavyweight contest. Des deixant caure el seu debut professional, the Etobicoke, Ontario native is undefeated in eight fights.

MONT-REAL (Juny 4) – As the world mourns the loss of Muhammad Ali, Dissabte night’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN and ESPN Deportes telecast began with a “Ceremonial 10-Count” in memory of “La Major” and continued to pay tribute to him throughout the telecast that was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between hard-hitting Russian Olympian Artur Beterbiev against Argentina’s Ezequiel Maderna.
The 31-year-old Beterbiev (10-0, 10 KOs), who fights out of Montreal, returned to the ring after an almost year-long layoff following shoulder surgery. Now seven months removed from the procedure, Beterbiev looked sharp from the opening bell as he threw straight right hands and body shots effectively to start the fight.
Maderna, who was also coming off of a long layoff, was hoping to make a statement in his first fight on North American soil as he moved up in weight for this bout. Beterbiev utilized his power and precision to control the entire fight, but kicked it into high gear in the third round, sending the 29-year-old Maderna to the canvas with two right hands. He stood up, but soon after was sent to the canvas again. Aquesta vegada, spitting out his mouth piece to delay the bout causing Referee Marlon B. Wright to deduct a point.

The PBC on ESPN telecast, which is the first of seven between Juny 4 i agost 12, opened with two welterweight southpaws facing off in hopes of maintaining their undefeated records. No obstant això, it didn’t take long for Florida’s Bryant Perrella (14-0, 13 KOs) to prove he was the better man as he scored a second round TKO over Washington, D.C.’s David Grayton (14-1, 10 KOs).
Grayton was more active at the beginning of the fight, working his right hand on the inside. Perrella used his longer reach and height difference to his advantage as he did his best to dictate the pace. Perrella knocked Grayton down in the beginning of the second round and became forceful with the right hand as Grayton left himself open to punishment. Finalment, Perrella threw a left that caused Grayton to stumble and referee David Griffin waved off the fight at 2:19.
“He came in real tough – a tough competitor,” Said Perrella. “I was the best man tonight. I caught him with some really hard shots, dazed him. Vaig prendre el meu temps, I listened to what my team said and got him out of there.

Also featured on the telecast was a six-round super welterweight contest between prospect Jamontay Clark (10-0, 6 KOs) of Cincinnati and Mexican warrior Edgar Ortega (16-6, 10 KOs). The game Ortega shocked the six-foot-two Clark in the first round, sending him to the canvas with a hard right hand. Clark regained his composure in between the first and second, controlling the fight from then on. Despite taking the fight with nine days’ avís, Ortega stayed with Clark all six rounds, even rolling his ankle in the fourth. After the final bell rung, Clark remained undefeated, registering a unanimous decision victory with the judges scoring the bout 58-55 i 58-54 (dues vegades).
