Citlalli Ortiz vinner weltervikt Youth VM titel

Guwahati, Indien (November 26, 2017) — Coachella, California-native Citlalli Ortiz avvecklas hennes imponerande 2017 Kvinnor ungdom VM kampanj med en seger delad beslut över Rysslands Nataliya Sychugova att ta sin första stora internationella titel i Guwahati, Indien.

GILROY, Calif. (November. 7, 2017) – Unbeaten Colombian power-puncher Janer Gonzalez (19-0-1, 15 Kos) takes a major step up in competition when he faces unbeaten Russian prospect Radzhab Butaev (7-0, 6 Kos; WSOB: 9-1) denna fredag, November. 10, at the Masonic at Templelive Cleveland in downtown Cleveland. The scheduled eight-round welterweight bout will be telecast on the popular ShoBox: Den nya generationen series LIVE on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. OCH/PT, fördröjd på västkusten).

 

Gonzalez, who is coached by Ruben Guerrero Sr., recently shared his training camp experience as his showdown with Butaev nears. Gonzalez, who is making his United States and SHOWTIME debut, last fought in September of this year.

 

Here is what Gonzalez had to say ahead of Fredag night’s fight.

 

On his recent training camp with Ruben Guerrero Sr.:

 

“My good friend Oscar Escandon introduced me to Mr. Guerrero about a month ago. I came to California to start training with Ruben shortly after. It’s been a great transition and training camp has been very productive. I’ve been sparring every other day since I got here. I’m in good shape and I’m ready to perform at my best denna fredag.”

 

On facing undefeated Russian prospect Radzhab Butaev:

 

“I know I have a tough fight ahead of me, but I’m ready for the challenge. Butaev had a tremendous amateur career, but so did I. I have over 300 amateur fights under my belt and there is nothing Butaev will bring to the ring that I haven’t already seen. We equally have a lot of power, so the fans can expect to see some big shots being thrown by both of us. I’m going to leave everything in the ring come fight night.”

 

On making his U.S. debut and what a victory on Showtime will do for his career:

 

“Fighting on SHOWTIME is a tremendous blessing for me. This is my first fight in America and I going to make it special. The exposure I will get can take my career to the next level, especially if I come out victorious. A win will garner me some big fights and some big paydays. I’m fighting for my family and my countrymen in Colombia. My motivation is at an all-time high and the boxing world will know my name after this fight.”

SAN FRANCISCO, SÅSOM (Oktober 3, 2017) – Professional boxing returns to the city of San Francisco, SÅSOM, på Oktober 21, 2017, as hometown hero Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (19-4-1, 11 Kos), takes on undefeated prospect Miguel Dumas (10-0, 7 Kos). The main-event bout will take place at the beautiful historic San Francisco Armory. On the line with be the WBU Welterweight Americas Belt.
Mayfield, who’s been out of the ring for over a year, is looking to get his career back on track with an impressive victory. The San Francisco native is thrilled to get back in the ring, especially in his hometown.
“I really wanted to bring boxing back to San Francisco in a classy manner,” Said Karim Mayfield. “The San Francisco Armory is a beautiful venue that holds 4,000 människor. We want to get the word out that this will be a friendly atmosphere where everyone of all walks of life can enjoy the fights. A new opponent will be announced soon. The 6-round co-feature bout will be in Super-lightweight division. Miller, who is currently ranked #2 av boxrec.com, was born and raised in San Francisco and is expected to have a lot of fans in attendance.
“This will be the first time I’ll be fighting in my hometown of San Francisco,” an ecstatic Raquel Miller said. “Everyone from my neighborhood, all my family and friends, they’re all coming out to watch me fight. I can’t wait to put on a great show for everyone. I’ll definitely be going for the knockout.”

Ruben Villa and Michael Dutchover remain undefeated with wins in Ontario, Kalifornien

FILADELFIA, PENN./ORANGE, Calif. (Sju. 25, 2017) – Heralded prospects, fjäder Ruben Villa and junior lightweight Michael Dutchover remained perfect with unanimous decision victories this past Fredag night in Ontario, Kalifornien.
Ruben Villa (8-0, 4 Kos) av Salinas, Calif. displayed his superior talent by out boxing veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-20, 18 Kos) of Mexico through six rounds. Villa swept all three scorecards (60-54) to continue an impressive start to his young career.

In what was perhaps his toughest test to date, Villa performed admirably and displayed his quickness by darting in and out of danger, all the while landing power shots to the head and body.

“We had a game plan for Guerrero, and we executed it perfectly,” Villa said. “We gave him different looks and fought him from different angles. I don’t think he ever got comfortable.”

Dutchover (6-0, 4 Kos) av Midland, Tex. knocked down Mexico’s Carlos Flores (4-6-1, 3 Kos) in the opening round to get things going on his way to a unanimous decision sweep (40-35).

Thompson Boxing caught up the with Midland, Tex. native and got his take on relocating to the Los Angeles area, what it was like to spar with two world champions, and his outlook På fredagens slagsmål.

Your training camp was unlike any other in that you sparred against world champions Oscar Valdez and Jessie Magdaleno, as well as blue-chip prospect Michael Conlan. What was it like going against such high-level talent?

“Sparring against world champions elevates your game and boosts your confidence tremendously. I held my own the first few sessions with Oscar and Jessie and they called me back for other sessions. These guys expect solid work so I was glad that they brought me back. I’m gaining experience from some of the best so it’s awesome. It was also great sparring with Michael. With those three I was able to see different styles that will help me in my development.”

Your opponent Carlos Flores has had an uneven career. How do you get up for a fight where you are the clear favorite?

“You can’t think that every fight is going to be easy. If you’re not ready for a fight then anyone can make you look bad. This sport is unforgiving in that way. I’m going to be on my “EN” game and it will show Fredag.”

Earlier this year you made the decision to relocate to the Los Angeles area and leave your hometown of Midland, Tex. What has been the toughest part of this move?

“I’m doing what I love to do and that always involves sacrifices. The most difficult part is being away from friends and family and being far from home. I knew moving to Los Angeles was the right choice because if you want to get better, especially in the lower weight classes, this area is the place to be. On any given day you can spar with contenders and world champions so it’s been great for me.”

How do you see Friday’s fight going down?

“I can predict a solid win for me and my team. I’m going to let my punches go and just be active. I’ll work off the jab to open things up and I’m going to show an improved defense. I’m going to look the best I’ve looked so far. That much I know.”

Villa, en sydpote som kämpar ut från Salinas, Calif., turned professional last July and already has produced seven one-sided wins. His opponent for Friday, Mexico’s Guerrero, is no push over. Guerrero has won his last five fights, four of which ended in knockout fashion.

“Guerrero’s a veteran so we’ve been extra serious in this camp,” sa Villa. “My team believes that I can take him out. My team wouldn’t set me up against an opponent that I wouldn’t be able to handle so I feel ready for this challenge.”

Villa, 20, loaded up on top-level sparring to help bridge the experience gap between him and Guerrero. He spent three weeks in Indio, Calif. sparring against elite competition such as unbeaten, world title contender Joseph Diaz.

“The way Diaz puts his punches together was really impressive,” sa Villa, som marknadsförs av Banner Promotions och Thompson Boxing. “Det var en stor lärande upplevelse för mig. It’s not every day you get to spar with someone with that high of a skill level.”

559 Fights Middleweight Title on the Line Lördag
Two of California’s hottest prospects throw down Lördag för 559 Fights Middleweight Championship, when Albert Gonzales and Nick Maximov clash at Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, LIVE on FloCombat.

Gonzales represents Fresno, and Maximov calls Chico home. Both fighters sport unblemished 3-0 records, and both are looking to add 559 Fights Champion to their resume Lördag.

“That belt is going to mean the world to me, man,” Gonzales says after a recent training session. “It’s going to symbolise all my hard work and dedication, and it’s going to mean even more to my supporters. There’s no way I’m leaving Visalia without that belt.”

“Good luck with that,” says his opponent Maximov, who’s also a wrestler for Clackamas College in Portland.

“This is my first main event and my first shot at taking home a belt; I’m ready to rise to the occasion,” Maximov says with a smile. “I’ve got a lot of respect for my opponent and what he’s accomplished so far in his career, but this is my time.”

I co-main event, unbeaten Arroyo Grande product Isaiah Rocha (3-0) takes on the toughest challenge of his blossoming his career, Bakersfield’s Izaiah Ozuna (3-2), i bantamvikt handling.

The card also features the return of former 559 Fights bantamweight title challenger Austin Liu (3-2, Fresno) and top women’s flyweight prospect Kathy Solorzano (4-1, Bakersfield).

(Juli 30, 2017) – Undefeated fjäder utsikter Tramaine “The Mighty Midget” Williams made a major statement last night (Lördag, Juli 29), dropping former world title challenger William “Chirizo” Gonzalez three times in the opening round of a sensational performance in the “KO Night Boxing” Rumble on the Water 2″ main event, which aired live on CBS Sports Network from The Queen Mary’s outdoor venue in Long Beach, Kalifornien.

“KO Night Boxing: Rumble on the Water 2” was presented by Black Tree, and promoted by Roy Englebrecht Promotions, in association with KO Night Boxing LLC and Roc Nation Sports.

The 5′ 4″ Williams (12-0, 5 Kos), fighting out of New Haven (CT), exploded with pin-point accuracy, also displaying his new-found power, dropping Gonzalez 30-8, 26 Kos), Nicaragua, three time in the first round. The crafty southpaw finished off his more experienced opponent with a perfectly placed right-left combination, right on the button, for his third and final knockdown. Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waved off the action, not bothering to count, as Gonzalez lay vertical on his back in dire straits.
“I prepared well for this fight and anything can happen when I work hard,” Williams remarked after his third consecutive knockout victory. “I felt his power early with a body shot but I stayed focused.
“I can deal with anybody in my division. I want to fight Lee Selby (IBF featherweight world champion), or any of the world champions, but none will fight me. I really want Gary Russell (WBC champion); Jag är här, Gary. It’ll be target practice for me.”

In his first eight-round fight, the 21-year-old Younan gained invaluable experience fighting the non-stop Guy, who kept coming forward, throwing punches from all angles, at his Brooklyn opponent.

“You can’t learn if you don’t go rounds,” Younan correctly noted after the fight. “I’m only going to improve. Guy kept moving forward the entire fight. There were a couple of things that bothered me, but I went eight hard rounds and won. Thank you to Mike Guy for that.”
Former Winthrop College (SC) basketspelare Jonnie Rice (7-2-1, 4 Kos), fighting out of Los Angeles, opened the televised broadcast with a convincing six-round unanimous decision over Rodney “King Corso” Hernandez (10-6-2, 2 Kos), av Fresno (SÅSOM).
“I thought I did real well against a good opponent,” former power forward Rice said after the fight “He’s an athlete, getting better each fight. He’s not the same fighter he was a year ago. I’m becoming more strategic, working on my jab to get better. Basketball players need good footwork like Chris Paul and Lebron James. I’m working to bring my footwork from basketball to boxing,”
Hemstad favorit Raul Calderon (1-0) pitched a shutout over Eric Gomez (0-1), winning a four-round unanimous decision (40-36 X 3), in a battle of pro-debuting Californians. In the walkout-fight, Los Angeles featherweight Sergio “El Nino” Quiroz förbättrades till 4-0 with a four-round unanimous decision over Lupe Arrotyo (2-7).
