LOWELL, Mäss. (Februari 9, 2018) – Western New England and Central New England teams dominated last night’s semifinals round in the novice division of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships, was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Western and Team Central won five and four individual matches, respektive, av 10 exciting bouts with the 10 winners advance to this coming Thursday’s (Februari. 15) novice division championship final at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. “Nu, we’re down to the final two novice boxers in each weight class from the six New England states,” N. Och. Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “It’s always interesting to see the cream rise to the top. The week after next the All-New England’s open division matches will be held and there will be more good match ups.”

USA Boxing lanserar USA vs. Irland East Boxing Tour

Top amatör boxare att tävla i tre städer i hela mars
COLORADO SPRINGS, Lap. (Januari 29, 2018) — USA Boxing meddelade idag de tre städerna som är värd för 2018 USA vs. Irland East Boxing Tour.
Boston, Manchester (NH) och Springfield (MA) kommer att välkomna två av världens främsta amatörboxning lag för vänliga duals. Varje stad kommer att visa upp till 12 ändarna, som alla kommer att leva strömmas, gratis, på USA Boxing hemsida.
Turnén kommer att sparka igång Mars 12 på Bostons Royale Entertainment Complex, följt av matchups på Mars 15 på Massmutual Center i Springfield, Mäss. Manchester kommer att stänga ut duals på Mars 21 på The Manchester Downtown Hotel. Boxning börjar kl 7:00 p.m. EST i alla tre städer, och biljetter kommer att göras tillgängliga för köp under de närmaste veckorna.
Den amerikanska delegationen kommer att ledas av huvudtränaren billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, CO), som representerade Irland vid 1988 OS innan han blev chef för den irländska boxning program för över 10 år.

LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 26, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night in front of a jacked-up crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium, featuring later round Central New England (Större Lowell) novice and open class matches.

Novice semifinals and championship finals, as well as some open semifinals and championship final, were held last night. USA Boxing främsta. 7-rated light heavyweight Miguel Teo (Marlboro, MA) captured the Central New England (CNE) open division championship, stoppa John Xifafas. of Nashua, N.H., i den tredje omgången. CNE novice division champions crowned last night include East Walpole (MA) flyweight Noelle Boran and Chelsea (MA) mellanvikt Jordy Artica
“We had another good crowd of great Lowell fans on a very cold night,” N. Och. Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “The Vegas-Gigliotti match was interesting and the Fight of the Night. It got very rough at times. Vegas dominated for the most part but Gigliotti showed super toughness. He took some shots but kept coming back.”

LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 20, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night with Central New England (Större Lowell) novice and open class action at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Novice quarterfinals and semifinals matches were held last night, as well as preliminary bouts in the open division. The female championship bout in the middleweight class was also held last night, in which Amesbury’s (MA) Jessica McFadden edged Brookline’s Samantha Surface, 3-2.
The Fight of the Night was an open-class welterweight showdown between Salem’s (MA) Charlie Espinal and Amesbury’s Kenny Lawson, which Espinal won by a score of 5-0.
“It was a good night,” New England Golden Gloves verkställande direktör Bobby Russo sa. “Good weather helped draw a big crowd, the largest of the season so far. There were a lot of good matches, some open division to go along with the novices. The Espinal-Larson match was the best of the night, a war from start to finish. It was the type fight you didn’t want either fighter to lose. Espinal had a little better boxing and experience that carried him to victory.”

LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 13, 2018) – The Central New England (Större Lowell) second-round of the 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships concluded last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with that featured 13 exciting men’s and women’s novice class matches.
The quarterfinals are on tap nästa fredag natt (Jan. 19) at Lowell Memorial Auditorium with novice and open class matches. See the complete 2018 schema över händelser nedan samt gårdagens fullständiga resultat.
“The first bout (Rodriguez vs. Picariello) of the night was awesome, one of the best I’ve seen in years,” Tournament Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “It was a lesson to be learned for fans: don’t come late! One of the great things about amateur boxing is you never know what the fight of the night will be and last night it was the first. Rodriguez showed a good skill level, especially for a novice, and Picariello had tremendous determination. He kept coming and they both threw a lot of punches. It was a great way to start the show.”

FIRST-ROUND RESULTS
Centrala N.E.. preliminary round action concludes this Friday night at Lowell Auditorium
LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 6, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships kicked-off last night in front of an enthusiastic crowd, despite traveling in sub-zero temperature, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with Central New England (Större Lowell) preliminary-round action that featured 13 exciting men’s and women’s novice class matches.
The preliminary round will conclude nästa fredag natt (Jan. 12) at Lowell Memorial Auditorium with novice and open class matches. See the complete 2018 schema över händelser nedan samt gårdagens fullständiga resultat.
“I was very happy with last night’s turnover,” Tournament Executive Director Bobby Russo sa, “especially considering the wicked cold. “It’s a testament to the great fans in the Lowell area who are diehard supporters.”

Is USA Boxing Nationals Champion Jared Anderson America’s next great heavyweight?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (December 21, 2017) – Christmas came early for jared Anderson, who not only won the heavyweight title at the recent USA Boxing National Championships, the 18-year-old also captured the Most Outstanding Boxer Award in the Elite Division.
Seeded No. 7 in an eight-boxer field at The Nationals, Anderson, i ordning, defeated No. 2 Jesus Flores i öppningsrundan, 5-0, edged No. 3 Adrian Tillman i semifinalen, 3-2, and upset five-time national champion Cam F. Grymt bra, 5-0, i mästerskapet finalen.
In USA Boxing’s most recently listed heavyweight ratings (November. 17, 2017), Tillman and Awesome are ranked No. 1 och 2, respektive, Flores is No. 5, and Anderson is unranked.
“I think that’s going to change,” Anderson noted. “Winning the heavyweight title and Most Outstanding Boxing Award meant the world to me. Maybe some people had never heard of me, but I’ve been boxing since I was eight, and I’ve faced a lot of different styles.
“I had a vendetta going with Tillman and, instead of boxing, I tried to take his head off. Simple work allowed me to beat Awesome. He is a good fighter. Cam does what he wants in the ring — throws jabs, sits there and builds up points – and intimidates some opponents. I took the fight to him. Not wild, fast, because he’d have been there in the ring, calm and smiling, and I would have lost. I used my jab more than anything against him.”
One of 11 siblings in two households, Anderson is another USA Boxing success story. Growing up in Toledo, Ohio, Anderson was constantly getting into trouble in school and boxing eventually saved him. His mother convinced her son to meet a local boxing coach, who introduced Jared to boxing, drilling discipline into him, something Jared desperately needed at that point in his young life.
Boxing in Toledo has also aided his overall development in boxing. “We push each other,” Förklarade Anderson. “We support each other and perfect our crafts. There’s a lot of support here at all the gyms in Toledo.”
Anderson represented Team USA at this past August’s 2017 Bradenburg Cup in Frankfurt, Tyskland, at which Anderson won the heavyweight title, as well as the Most Outstanding Boxer Award, which should have been a warning for other leading U.S. tungviktare.
As a young boxer, Anderson admired three legends who were all products of USA Boxing, US. Olympians and Olympic medal winners: 1. Sugar Ray Leonard – “Snabba händer, fart, a phenomenal boxer.” 2. Evander Holyfield – “A warrior who could bang or box. Moved up successfully from cruiserweight to heavyweight.” 3.Muhammad Ali — “Not just because he was a great boxer, but more so because of his life.”
Just nu, Anderson stand 6′ 2 and weighs 200 Ibs., but he’s only 18 and should continue growing even larger. Ytterst, he wants to be heavyweight champion of the world, but Jared does have a plan.
“I want to stay as active as possible next year, competing in tournaments, and turn pro but not until after the (2020) OS,” Anderson concluded. “I’m not turning pro until after the (2020) OS. I want to win a gold medal, turn pro and win the world heavyweight title, so I can move my mother out of the ‘hood.”
Remember the name, boxing fans, Jared Anderson has the potential to be America’s next great heavyweight.

2016 Olympic Silver Medalist SHAKHRAM GIYASOV Arrives in U.S.A. to Start Pro Career

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 18, 2017) – Uzbekistani superstar and 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist, Shakhram Giyasov, has landed in the United States, and will settle in Las Vegas, NV, to start his pro career. Som professionell, Giyasov will campaign in the welterweight division, where he was a sensational amateur standout.
I åldern 24, Giyasov who stands at 5’9″, is one of the most talented boxers to enter the professional ranks in the last decade. This past summer in Hamburg, Tyskland, the right handed Giyasov captured Gold (Weltervikt) vid 2017 International Boxing Association (AIBA) Världsmästerskapen. Giyasov’s victory in the finals against Cuba’s Roniel Iglesias, den 2012 OS-guldmedaljören, came to no one’s surprise, as the Uzbekistan was the #1 seed entering the tournament. Shakhram was voted best boxer of the tournament by his peers, vinnande 56% of the AIBA online poll.
“I have arrived in the United States of America and plan to establish myself as the next great champion from Uzbekistan,” said Shakhram Giyasov. “My goal is to conquer the welterweight division and become a pound-for-pound champion. I set my goals high because I believe in myself and the team I’ve put around me. Together we will go to the top.”
Giyasov, who is a mega-star in his native land of Uzbekistan, is managed by Ruslan Khusinov, an international sports agent with ties to some of the best amateur boxers in the world. His reasoning for bringing Giyasov to the bright lights of Las Vegas was easy, to establish his brand in the mecca of professional boxing.
“We are very please with our decision to bring Shakhram Giyasov to Las Vegas,” said Ruslan Khusinov. “Everyone recognizes Las Vegas as the mecca of boxing and this is where we want to build our foundation. I have big plans to make Giyasov a super-star here in the States, just like back home where his popularity is undeniable.”
Training Giyasov, kommer vara Justin Gamber, who guides the corner of undefeated world ranked contender, Caleb “Söta Händer” Växt (16-0, 10 Kos). Gamber believes Giyasov can jump on the fast track to a world title.
“In today’s boxing game, you have many boxers with high amateur pedigree’s, fighting for a world title before their 15th pro-kamp,” Justin Gamber stated. “I believe Giyasov fits that mold. I can see him fighting for a world title early in his career.”

Barrientes Twins From Pound-4-Pound Boxing Program Win Belts at 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championship

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 11, 2017) – This past week, den “Pund-4-Pund” Gym, Las Vegas’ # 1 amatörboxningsprogram, sent eight members to the 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championships & Junior Open. The Barrientes twins, Chavez och Angel both qualified to represent Team USA in the Junior Division, by winning belts at the tournament. Angel Barrientes was voted most outstanding boxer of the tournament.
The five-day tournament, which took place in Salt Lake City, UT, at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, had the best amateur boxers fighting to see who would triumph and represent Team USA.
“I’m very proud of our entire team who all fought hard and had tremendous success in this tournament,” said Pound-4-Pound head coach Richard Barrientes. “Although everyone didn’t come home with a belt, they all gave it their best, and gained a lot of experience. Angel and Chavez were outstanding, winning belts in their divisions. We competed against the best amateur boxers in the USA and held our own. Words can’t describe how happy I am with everyone’s performance.
