“I’m very happy to be back after a long layoff,” va dir Vargas. “It was a long time off and I felt the ring rust. I stayed patient and tried to stick to my distance. The inconsistencies affected me more than I thought it would and Herrera kept pushing the fight.

“I was setting him up and waiting for him to punch before attacking him. I expect more in my next performance and I’m disappointed I didn’t finish him, but a win is a win. We’ll get back to the drawing board. I showed I have the power with the knockdown, I just have to finish it off next time.”

Vargas was effective early and often, landing a strong lead left hook to the head of Herrera at the end of round one before controlling the second round with series of combinations. Herrera slowly increased his output as the fight went on, but was never able to slow down the attack of Vargas.

Midway through round six, Vargas sent Herrera to the canvas with a left hook that initially stunned him and a combination that put him down. Herrera rose to the canvas but continued to be picked apart by the skilled and composed Vargas.

“I felt relaxed in the ring,” va dir Vargas. “I was trying finish him with the hook. His head movement threw me off and kept him in the fight. We have to keep improving and look better in the next fight.”

Després 10 rondes, Vargas earned a unanimous decision by the score of 100-89 three times in his first fight a 13 mesos as he seeks another title in the welterweight division.

The co-main event saw once-beaten welterweight Jamal James (22-1, 10 KOs) earn a third-round knockout over veteran contender Diego Chaves (26-3-1, 22 KOs) with a sensational left hook to the body that gave James the most impressive victory of his career to date.

James used his jab and significant height advantage from the outset in an attempt to set up combinations, while Chaves looked to attack the body and close the distance. Both fighters traded attacks early, but it was James who broke through first with a barrage in the third round.

After stunning Chaves with a right hand, James went on the attack as his opponent stopped throwing punches. He took full advantage of the opportunity by perfectly placing the left hook to the body that sent Chaves down and eventually counted out by referee Tom Taylor.

In an action-packed super lightweight showdown, John Molina Jr.. (30-7, 24 KOs) delivered a fourth round stoppage of Ivan Redkach (20-3-1, 16 KOs) after both men hit the canvas in the first three rounds.

Redkach was able to survive the round, but Molina connected again in round four with a right hand that stunned Redkach and a clubbing left hook that put him down again. This knockdown prompted referee Eddie Hernandez to wave off the bout 1:27 a la quarta ronda, giving Molina a big victory with his family watching ringside.

“You always dig deep with your family watching,” va dir Molina. “You never want to lose in front of your family. I’m always going to fight until the very end. I had a tough opponent in front of me but I did what I had to to get the victory.”

Ortiz is returning to the ring one week after the World Boxing Council lifted a sanction that it had imposed against the Cuban heavyweight contender in October. Ortiz was pulled from a match against world champion Deontay Wilder scheduled for Nov. 4, after Ortiz failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association drug test. Last week the WBC ruled that Ortiz had failed to disclose two medications that he was taking, which triggered his positive test. He was fined $25,000 for failing to make the disclosure, and re-instated into the organization’s rankings.

That cleared the way for Ortiz to return to the ring, and he will waste no time doing so with a match that he hopes will help propel him toward another world title shot in 2018.

“I’m just thankful to be back in the sport I love so much. I can’t wait to get some action and feel that ring and those gloves tight on my wrist,” Ortiz ha dit. “I’d like to thank everyone, especially my loyal fans, who stood by me and supported me through this rough time. I don’t think it would have been possible without you guys. LaManna wins LBF Intercontinental Welterweight title with decision over Amoako

Atlantic City, Nova Jersey (Novembre 21, 2017)– Las Dissabte nit, Thomas Lamanna took home a ten round unanimous decision over rugged Samuel Amoako in the headline bout of an eight bout card at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.

Raymond Serrano won the WBC Fecarbox Welterweight tittle with a eighth round disqualification victory over previously undefeated Enver Halili.

The fight was a war that thrilled the crowd at the Claridge. Both guys were rocked several times throughout the contest.

The punches started to get to Halili as he was docked points in rounds six and seven for spitting out his mouthpiece. He spit put the mouth-guard one more time in round eight, and referee Eric Dali called off the bout at 1:34.

Serrano of Philadelphia is now 24-4. Halili is now 10-1.

Jorge Díaz got off the deck to take home a eight-round unanimous decision over Adam Lopez and capture the WBC Fecarbox Super Bantamweight title.

Alvin Varmall destroyed Nicholas Lavin 97 seconds into their scheduled six-round cruiserweight bout.

Varmall jumped all over Lavin, and finally put him down for the ten-count.

Varmall, 183 lbs of La Place, LA is now 14-0-1 amb 12 nocauts. Lavin, 192 lliura

Vargas (27-2, 10 KOs) is returning to the ring for the first time a 13 mesosafter dropping a 12-round decision in a welterweight title defense against Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 5, 2016. “Every fighter is dangerous and if I give Herrera the chance, he’ll knock my head off,” va dir Vargas. “But I come into every fight with bad intentions and I’m in a position where I know exactly what it takes to get where I want to go. I have a lot of opportunities ahead of me, but first, I have to show the fans that I’m back and look exciting while doing that. Herrera is going to give me his best, but I feel that I have the speed, the experience and the game plan to overcome anything he brings to the table.”

Herrera (33-7-1, 22 KOs) has already fought four times in 2017 including his most recent outing, a stoppage of Israel Toala in July. The 28-year-old from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico lost to Brandon Rios via knockout on Juny 11 in a FS1 and FOX Deportes main event at Pioneer Events Center, where he will face Vargas.

“I’m going against a really good fighter, but he doesn’t punch very hard,” dit Herrera. “I will go bombs away from the first round. He can’t hurt me. I’m confident I will win this fight. REDK (20-3-1, 16 KOs) and Molina (29-7, 23 KOs) are both coming off losses and will look to go through each other to regain top contender status. The 31-year-old Redkach, who was born in Ukraine and now lives in Los Angeles, is coming off a split decision loss in a FS1 and FOX Deportes main event to Argenis Mendez in his last fight on Maig 2. Molina, 34, had one of the best performance of his career in June 2016 when he defeated Ruslan Provodnikov by unanimous decision. The Covina, Califòrnia. native earned a shot at Terrence Crawford in December that saw him lose by TKO in the eighth round.

Atlantic City, Nova Jersey (Novembre 15, 2017)–Super Bantamweight contender Adam López is looking to getting back to the perch of being on a short list to fight for a world title.

Back on January 20th, Lopez was right there when he took on Daniel Roman in what was a WBA title elimination bout in Atlantic City.

Unfortunately for Lopez, he came up on the short end of that fight, però Dissabte nit he returns to Atlantic City when he takes on Jorge Díaz in an eight-round bout for the WBC Fecarbox Super Bantamweight title at The Claridge Hotel.

En un combat de sis rondes de pes welter, Yurik Mamedov (7-0, 3 KOs) de Brooklyn, Batalles NYVicente Floyd (3-3-1, 2 Kos) de Filadèlfia en un concurs de pes pesat.

Atlantic City, Nova Jersey (Novembre 14, 2017)–Les apostes han crescut per a l'emocionant combat de co-funcions entre ells Raymond Serrano i l'invicte Enver Halili a l'hotel Claridge d'Atlantic City.

El combat de deu rondes es disputarà pel títol WBC Fecarbox Welterweight.

La targeta està promoguda per Rising Promotions, Promocions Greg Cohen, & Guanyador Take All Productions.

Serrano de Filadèlfia ha estat entrenant al famós Wildcard Gym, i ha tingut un campament fantàstic.

“El campament ha anat molt bé, Acabo de baixar les últimes dues lliures. També he estat lluitant amb Miguel Cotto i alguns dels millors lluitadors de MMA. Tinc un dels millors entrenadors del gimnàs Ernie Zavala treballant al meu racó,” va dir Serrano.

Serrano s'ha entrenat a Filadèlfia i Puerto Rico a tot el món i ha notat una diferència entrenant en un dels gimnasos més famosos del món..

“La diferència en l'entrenament a Wild Card és que hi ha tants bons lluitadors allà i allà on mires hi ha un lluitador de primer nivell que treballa dur.”

A Halili sap que està amb un lluitador que ve a guanyar i treure el millor de Serrano.

“Realment no en sé massa d'ell. Vaig veure algunes imatges antigues d'ell, i veig que és boxejador. Està invicte, així que ve a guanyar i això hauria de ser una bona lluita.”

Va ser fa cinc anys quan Serrano era un prospecte de premi amb un 18-0 registre, i estava a la vora de grans baralles, abans d'un tram on Serrano va poder anar just 5-4, però Serrano creu que està a només una o dues victòries d'una lluita important.

“Em sento com amb una victòria, Estic a una trucada telefònica d'una gran baralla. Fins i tot pensant que no estic classificat, Sé que puc competir amb els grans noms de la divisió. Aquesta victòria m'hauria de portar el cinturó i també la classificació. Només vull continuar pujant per l'escala. La gent oblida que sóc just 28 anys i estic en el millor moment. A poc a poc amb el meu manager Mark Cipparone. Només vull fer-ho saber a tothom aquest dissabte, El 18 de novembre hi haurà un nou campió del WBC Fecarbox, i aquest seré jo, Raymond “Tito” Serrano.”
