A pro for 12 ans, Vazquez faced world champions Donnie Nietes and Brian Viloria along with nine undefeated fighters. He conquered three of the then unbeaten foes (5-0 Jose Luis Alvarado, 2-0-1 Pablo Cruz Ortega and 10-0-1 Ricardo Armenta) while also besting 10-1 Juan Carlos Hernandez.
Headlining the card is fellow Nashville transplant Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko versus Johnson City, TN’s Brad Austin in a six rounder for the Tennessee Light Heavyweight championship. Originally from Ghana, Agbeko has an impressive 18-1 ledger and 17 victoires par KO. With close to 40 bouts under his belt, Austin’s fought many top opponents including Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin, Yunieski Gonzalez, Ismayl Sillah, Isiah Thomas and Edwin Rodriguez.
In a battle for the Tennessee State Welterweight crown, DeMarcus Rogers and Dedrick Bell will battle it out over six rounds. A native of Chattanooga, Rogers has 11 wins against only three defeats with four wins by KO. The Memphis bred Bell’s a veteran of 48 fights and virtually all of his losses came against world class opposition.
Middleweight rising star Winfred “Hot Boy” Harris Jr. travels from his boxing-crazed hometown of Detroit, MI to meet Tennessee based Cuban Yolexcy Leiva in a six round affair. Harris, 14-0 (8 KO), is only 22-years-old and coming off a career best win against highly regarded Lanardo Tyner. Having faced a number of quality fighters, Leiva owns a deceptive record of 5-6 avec quatre coups de grâce. En 2012, he knocked out previously undefeated Benny Costantino (7-0) and is confident he’ll upset Harris.
Rounding out the card is debuting junior welterweight Eduardo Aguiar fighting Augusta, GA’s William Ware in a four rounder.
"We’ve had a few changes but I’m still very pleased with how this card looks heading into Vendredi,” said Tri Star Boxing’s Matt Young, who is also a firefighter in nearby Murfreesboro, TN. “Our plan is to keep building Nashville’s interest in local boxing and the best way to do that is showcasing talented fighters from the area. The Tennessee State Fair is a huge event and Tri Star Boxing’s goal is to provide affordable entertainment while creating new fans for the sweet science.”

Yunier Dorticos vs. Dmitry Kudryashov Training Camp Notes

World Boxing Super Series Cruiserweight Tournament Heats Up Saturday, Septembre 23 with Dorticos vs. Kudryashov Quarter-final Matchup from Alamodome in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO (Septembre 11, 2017) – With World Boxing Super Series action officially underway following Oleksandr Usyk’s 10e-round stoppage of Marco Huck Saturday in Germany, cruiserweight sluggers yunier Dorticos et Dmitry Kudryashov offered training camp updates ahead of their highly anticipated quarter-final showdown taking place Samedi, Septembre 23 de l'Alamodome à San Antonio.
The WBA cruiserweight titleholder, “Le KO Doctor” Dorticos has been hard at work at the Freestyle Fighting Academy in Miami as he prepares for the matchup that many are calling the best fight of the tournament.
I’m working hard and getting ready to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Dorticos. “I have a strong opponent in front of me, but I know what I’m capable of. I’m going to go out there and study him the first few rounds and then break him down. I have to execute my game plan. My training camp is going really well and I can’t wait to have all of my hard work pay off on September 23.
Owning a 100 percent knockout ratio over his 21 le professionnel gagne, “Le Marteau de Russie” Kudryashov has trained at the Legends Boxing Gym in Norwalk, Calif., for his first fight in the U.S. as he looks to punch his ticket to the WBSS semi-finals.
When you want to be the best, you have to train harder than everybody,” said Kudryashov. “That is the key to my game. Dorticos is a good fighter with a strong amateur background. He’s dedicated to this sport and he’s no easy opponent. I’m going to have to be at my best to beat him. Everyone in this tournament was afraid to pick me but I’m happy to be in this fight.
With the WBO champion Usyk set to face the winner of WBC Champion Mairis Briedis vs. Mike Perez, the Dorticos vs. Kudryashov winner will match up against the winner of IBF Champion Murat Gassiev vs. Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in a unification showdown that promises more high-stakes action.
It’s an honor for me to be part of such a prestigious tournament,” said Dorticos. “This is my opportunity to put myself on top of this sport with the other big names and champions. This is what me and my team have worked so hard to accomplish.
My main motivation is to become world champion and show that I’m the best in the division,” said Kudryashov. “I’m the most powerful fighter in this division and everyone will see that on Septembre 23. I have a newborn daughter but I’m still training harder than ever and it has just added to my motivation to go win this tournament.
With the Muhammad Ali Trophy awaiting the winner of the WBSS tournament, both men are looking to increase their profiles and prove their supremacy in the division while matching up against the best in the weight class.
Fighting for the Muhammad Ali Trophy is huge for me,” said Kudryashov. “It is a big responsibility to make sure that I honor his name. This is possibly the biggest prize that boxers can fight for in a tournament that couldn’t be more important.
I want to fight all of the champions,” said Dorticos. “That is my plan because I see myself as the best fighter in this division and now I can go out there and prove it. I idolized Muhammad Ali just like everyone else in this sport and to earn the trophy with his name would be something very special for my life and career.
With a combined 41 knockouts over 42 victoires, Dorticos vs. Kudryashov promises to be a back-and-forth all-action fight, but only one man will be able to raise his hand at the end of the night and move on in the quest for the Muhammad Ali Trophy.
The fans are going to get an amazing show on Septembre 23,” said Dorticos. “This is definitely the best fight of the tournament and the best man will win. We’re both going to leave it all in the ring and fight with our hearts until the very end. I’ve worked too hard to get to this point. Once I connect with him, everyone knows what is going to happen.
This is the first time that all of the best fighters in the division have been collected in a tournament so it is a big opportunity for me,” said Kudryashov. “My team has been amazing in training camp and I am going to take that and bring it to the ring against Dorticos. My opponent better be ready, because I’m coming to beat you like nobody ever has.

Decastro Vs Landaeta Showdown For IBF European Crown le 21 octobre

PROMOTIONS DE BOXE ASSASSIN & LA GESTION

Aberdeen, Royaume-Uni. Samedi 9e Septembre 2017.

8, 2017) – At 20 ans, 9 months old, David Benavidez became boxing’s youngest world champion – and the youngest ever in the super middleweight division – with a split decision victory over Ronald Gavril vendredi night on an exciting night of 168-pound action on BOXE SHOWTIME: ÉDITION SPÉCIALE de l'articulation au Hard Rock Hôtel & Casino. See the video of the decision via Twitter link ICI.

Benavidez (19-0, 17 KOs) placed the previously vacated WBC Super Middleweight belt around his waist after winning the title against former European amateur standout Gavril (18-2, 14 KOs) in what Benavidez later described as quite possibly the “Fight of the Year.” One scorecard had Gavril winning 116-111, with Benavidez winning on the other two scorecards, 116-111 et 117-111 in the event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

“It feels amazing to win this title,” said the Phoenix resident Benavidez. “It’s everything I’ve dreamed about since I was a little kid. It’s everything I’ve dedicated myself to and I’ve worked hard for. It finally paid off.”

The 31-year-old Romanian Gavril, who trains at Mayweather’s Gym in Las Vegas by Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, sent Benavidez to the canvas with a left hook with just 50 seconds left in the wild 12e et tour final.

«Je sens que je gagné le combat. I dominated the pace. I can’t say anything else other than it was up to the judges,” Gavril said, who was watched by his promoter all-time great Floyd Mayweather from ringside. “The only thing I can do is to ask for a rematch.”

Benavidez, who turned pro at age 16 and only had 15 combats amateurs, took control of the fight early on, but Gavril seemed to gain steam mid-fight, out-boxing and being more active than Benavidez in the seventh, tours huitième et neuvième. In rounds 11 et 12, Benavidez out-landed Gavril 66-35 ensemble et 53-14 with power punches.

“I felt my performance was good except for the last round when I got too anxious and wanted to knock him out,"Benavidez dit. “I let my young side takeover and I wanted to give the fans a great fight. I didn’t really feel hurt but it was a shock knockdown. I know to be careful and more cautious. It was a learning experience.”

In another super middleweight contest, Abie Han suffered a devastating accidental head-butt againstJ'Leon Amour à 1:02 into the eighth round and the fight went to the scorecards. One judge had Las Vegas’ Love winning 79-73, and the other two 76-76 making the decision a technical majority draw.

Following an exchange of punches, Aimer (23-1-1, 13 KOs) leaned in and the two fighter banged heads in violent fashion. Ils (26-3-1, 16 KOs) d'El Paso, Texas, was left stunned and fell to the floor as blood gushed from his forehead above his left eye and he was immediately checked on by referee Kenny Bayless.

Ils, who left the arena sitting up on a stretcher before hearing the decision, won the statistical battle in the ring. Han landed more blows (78-47 global, 20-12 jabs, 58-35 puissance) and did so more accurately (24 percent to 17 percent overall, 16 percent to eight percent jabs and 30 percent to 27 percent power).

SHOWTIME boxing analyst Al Bernstein had Han winning by one point at the time of the stoppage.

“I can’t rate my performance as great because I didn’t get a victory, J'ai un tirage au sort,” said Love, who once trained at the famed Kronk Gym in Detroit under Hall of Fame trainer Emanuel Steward.

The 29-year-old Love ended nearly a one-year layoff with his return to the ring. “I’m kind of rusty but I feel like I pressed the action and tried to take it to him,"Il a dit. “Other than that I feel like I landed the cleaner shots.”

Dans le combat d'ouverture de la télédiffusion, unbeaten super middleweight prospect Caleb usine (16-0, 10 KOs) recorded a 10-round shutout decision against a tough Andrew Hernandez (19-7-1, 9 KOs), 100-90 trois fois.

Usine, who resides in Las Vegas by way of Ashland City, Armé d'un, was the more active fighter against the 31-year-old switch-hitting journeyman Hernandez, who took the fight on just eight daysnotice after Alan Campa dropped out. Plant jabbed effectively (81 de 271, 30 pour cent) while neutralizing Hernandez’s usually effective jab (46 de 325, 14 pour cent). Plant was also sharp with his power shots landing 44 percent to Hernandez’s 19 pour cent.

“I’m very pleased with my performance,” Plant said. “I boxed well and I dictated the pace. I pressed when I needed to press and boxed when I needed to box. I felt I put on a great show for the fans. I want to be star in boxing. I know with hard work I can accomplish anything.

“Hernandez is tough, I sent him with everything and he stood tall and my hats off to him. He’s a tough competitor.”

Hernandez, de Phoenix, Arizona, suffered a cut under his left eye in the third and it caused him problems throughout the fight, opening up and bleeding over the final two rounds.

“All respect to Caleb Plant on his performance tonight,” Hernandez said. “He put on a solid fight and he’s got a great future. I was happy I was able to stay in there and last the entire 10 tours.

“I felt Caleb won, but I don’t think it was 10 rounds to none. But that’s not for me to decide. It’s all up to the judges at the end of the day it only matters what they think.”

Plant added: “I’m ready to step up in competition and fight anybody in the top 10 of the super middleweight division. I got my eye on Benavidez and all the other world champions. Je viens!"

Vendredi de tripleheader will replay on Sunday, Sept. 10, à 9 a.m. ET/PT, et Lundi, Sept. 11, à 10 p.m. ET/PT sur SHOWTIME EXTREME et sera disponible sur SHOWTIME sur DEMAND® et SHOWTIME EN TOUT TEMPS®.

Barry Tompkins called the action from ringside with Bernstein and former world champion Raul Marquez serving as expert analysts. Le producteur exécutif était Gordon Hall avec Richard Gaughan produisant et Phillips Rick direction.

Prudential Center is the perfect venue for this event and I know that the fans will enjoy this matchup as both men vie for the Muhammad Ali Trophy.
It’s so exciting that the Ali Trophy is coming to a fighting place like New Jersey,” said Kalle Sauerland, Comosa’s Chief Boxing Officer. “Hold tight and enjoy the ride, Octobre 21 is going to be a unique experience, think ‘Game of Thronesmeets boxing. Can’t wait!”
A full slate of undercard bout will be announced soon.
I promise that I’m going to come to the ring to win and do everything possible to get this victory,” said Gassiev. “I want to take advantage of this opportunity to fight the best boxers in my weight class.
I have a very serious opponent in Krzysztof Wlodarczyk who is a two-time world champion and his resume speaks for itself. He has fought the best and I’m looking forward to a very hard fight.
It is a great honor for me to fight in the World Boxing Super Series for the Muhammad Ali Trophy,” dit Wlodarczyk. “I trained for two weeks in the Polish mountains and now I am back in Warsaw putting in the work forOctobre 21.”
I am very happy to have the opportunity to fight a champion like Murat Gassiev. C'est un jeune, strong champion like I was a few years ago but I am ready to show that I am still the best in the division.
One of the hardest punchers in the sport, Gassiev trains with Abel Sanchez in Big Bear, California and hails from Vladikavkaz, Russie. The 23-year-old made his U.S. débuts en 2015 and delivered four straight knockout victories, y compris un “Knockout de l'année” contender when he flattened Jordan Schimmel in the first round in May 2016. Gassiev then challenged Denis Lebedev in Russia last December and was able to drop the champion on his way to winning the IBF title.
Fighting out of Piaseczno, Pologne, Wlodarczyk first became a world champion when he defeated Steve Cunningham in 2006 to capture the IBF crown. After fighting to a draw against WBC Champion Giacobbe Fragomeni in 2009, Wlodarczyk stopped Fragomeni in their 2010 rematch to become a champion again. He would go on to defend the title six times and enters his Octobre 21matchup on a four fight winning streak.
