COLORADO SPRINGS, Giro. (Febbraio 26, 2019) – USA Boxing Alumni Association’s tribute this past weekend to two of New England’s all-time greatest amateur boxers, Vinny “The Pazmanian Devil” Paz e “Irlandese” Micky Ward, was a major success at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

A sold-out fundraiser to benefit the USA Boxing Alumni Association was held at Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse on Friday evening, honoring Paz and Ward, in addition to Hall of Fame referee Steve Smoger, who officiated numerous fights for both fighters.

Paz and Ward held a meet-and-greet Saturday night, prior to a CES Boxing event, as the popular boxers signed autographs and posed for pictures. They were brought into the ring, along with Smoger, and received a standing applause from the large crowd in attendance.



USA Boxing Alumni Association’s back-to-back nights at Twin River raised $3,000 (including proceeds from Sportsworld’s memorabilia auction) and added 20 new alumni members, including Paz, to its growing ranks.

Baltimore Boxing returns with “Super Brawl of Boxing” January 26

Baltimore, MD (Gennaio 9, 2018) – Jake Smith Baltimore Boxing will host their first show of 2018 when they present the “Super Brawl of Boxing” Venerdì, Gennaio 26 at Michael’s Eighth Ave in Glen Burnie, MD.

Baltimore Boxing is also pleased to announce that 5-time world champion and the subject of the movie “Bleed for This” Vinny Paz will be on hand to meet fans. Paz is a regular at Baltimore Boxing cards and local fight fans have adopted him as if he were one of their own.
This Olympic style boxing card is headlined by a title unification between Maryland State Middleweight champ Deshawn “Soulsnatcher” Chase of Baltimore Boxing and East Coast belt holder Marquis Moore of Salisbury’s Main Street Boxing Gym. Chase is one of Baltimore’s better amateurs and a regular at Michael’s Eighth while Moore is a well-schooled boxer that believes both titles will be his come the 26th.
This excellent evening of boxing also feature the debut of former NFL player Leon Joe. A standout linebacker at the University of Maryland, Joe was listed by Street & Smith as an All American Honorable mention in 2003. The next year, the Chicago Bears drafted Joe in the 4th round and he played in Super Bowl XLI. He later spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions before playing two years in the Canadian Football League.
Baltimore Boxing’s ‘Super Brawl of Boxing” also serves as a fundraiser for Tina Frost. Su Ottobre 1, Frost was shot in the head during the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Her right eye was removed and spent time in a rehab facility. Originally from Baltimore, the 28-year-old Frost was working as a CPA for Ernst & Young in San Diego but is back in Maryland with her family. While Frost’s made great progress, she has a long way to and a mound of medical bills that will only continue to grow.

“What happened to Tina is incredibly said,", Ha detto Jake Smith. “She was professionally successful and had everything going for her in life. It is a true tragedy what happened to her and all of the other shooting victims in Las Vegas. Baltimore Boxing’s fans have done a great job of getting behind the causes we support and we hope everybody is able to come out on the 26th to help raise money for the Frost family.”

Boxing great Vinny Paz, the subject of critically acclaimed Bleed for This, is attending as a special guest of Baltimore Boxing Promotions and will be available to meet and greet all VIP ticket holders.
Topping this outstanding evening of action is a ten round cruiserweight title showdown between NABA champion “Slick” Nick Kisner of Baltimore and former champion Alex Guerrero.
Fighting out of Baltimore, Kisner has an impressive 19-3-1 ledger professionale 6 KO. Kisner won his last three bouts including the NABA title winning effort where he traveled to Ohio to outpoint local favorite Brian Holstein. Never afraid of a challenge, the 26-year-old Kisner defeated 8-1 Lamont Singletary March 30 at Michaels Eighth and will have a tough task come May 12.
Representing Salisbury, MD and originally from the Dominican Republic, Guerrero will look to regain the title he captured via 8th round stoppage of Anthony Ferrante in 2014. A 12-1-1 con 6 KO, Guerrero lost his last fight but will enter the ring looking not only to win back his title but to prove he’s worthy of fighting the cruiserweight division’s elite.
In just his third professional fight “Dangerous” Donald Wallace looks to capture the vacant East Coast Middleweight Championship when he faces Devin Butcher in an eight round battle of Baltimoreans. Su Gennaio 13, Wallace, 2-0 (1 KO), won a six round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Tahir Thomas. Prior to his pro career, he generated local buzz by impressing in tournaments as a newcomer to the sport. Butcher is 6-1 con 3 wins by knockout and is coming off a decision victory over Eric Govan.
2012 Dominican Olympian Wellington Romero will face an opponent to be named in a special attraction welterweight contest. Now fighting out of Newburgh, NY, Romero’s 12-0-1 con 6 vittorie per KO. He is promoted by Roc Nation Sports.
Welterweight Matthew “Boogieman” Bowling, 4-0 (4 KO), and heavyweight Colby Madison, 4-0 (3 KO), will both face opponents to be named in four rounders.

This week on the FNU Combat Sports Show we discuss a fantastic month of November as far as fighting goes. We only had two shows last month, so we kick off this week in catch up mode. We discuss Ward vs. Kovalev at length, go off on a few tangents and then get to Tony’s review of “Bleed For This.” We then go back to MMA for Rich’s commentary on Miesha Tate telling Dana White, “FU, you’re not my boss..” after his request that she go to the hospital after her fight with Raquel Pennington. Tate retired earlier in the evening after a stellar career. Rich also gets going about the fighter union front and some new developments with Georges St. Pierre, Ex-Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney, Cain Velasquez, T.J. Dillashaw and other UFC notables breaking new ground in the niche with the founding of the Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association. We also manage to preview the upcoming weekend’s boxing schedule before the end of the broadcast tonight.

American Legend Set To Descend On London Boxing Gym In Celebration Of Film About His Career

On Monday 28th Novembre, Vinny Pazienza, the subject of forthcoming Hollywood movie BLEED FOR THIS, will descend on pro boxer Ben Day’s Ringtone Gym in Euston, London for a series of press interviews, ahead of a special private screening of the film that evening. BLEED FOR THIS goes on general release in the UK on Friday 2nd Dicembre.

 

BLEED FOR THIS is based on the incredible true story of Vinny Pazienza, who is played by Miles Teller in the movie, one of the few American boxers to hold World Titles in three different weight categories, who suffered a near-fatal car accident at the peak of his career. Told he would never walk again. Vinny spent months recovering in a neck brace until, against doctors’ orders and without their knowledge, he returned to the gym. With support of trainer Kevin Rooney, played by Aaron Eckhart in the movie, “The Pazmanian Devil” made a triumphant return to the ring just over a year later.

 

Written and directed by Ben Younger (Boiler Room), BLEED FOR THIS is executive produced by RAGING BULL director Martin Scorsese. Miles Teller (Whiplash, War Dogs) stars as Vinny alongside Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight, Sully) as Pazienza’s trainer Kevin Rooney. The Supporting cast includes Ciarán Hinds, Ted Levine and Katey Sagal.

 

On a quirky side note: Di Sabato 3rd Dicembre, the day after BLEED FOR THIS is released nationally in the UK, Ringtone Gym owner Ben Day will be back in Championship action himself, as he looks to secure his third title, the Southern Area Lightweight, against Michael Devine at York Hall in Bethnal Green, Londra.

 

Speaking earlier Ben said “I’m really looking forward to Vinny and the stars of the film coming to the gym il Lunedi. I can empathise with Vinnys struggles we’ve both had struggles in similar areas, his physical and mine mental, following an extremely tough upbringing, however against all the odds I now hold an International Masters Belt and the Southern Area Super-Lightweight title, and I’m fighting for the Southern Area Lightweight Title on 3rd December!”

Lcome Vegas (Luglio 21, 2015) – Giacomo “Lights Out” Toney, un campione del mondo 12 volte in cinque diverse classi di peso, ha confermato che egli apparirà presso il Convention Center di Las Vegas per la seconda edizione Box Fan Expo, Sabato, Sette. 12, 2015. L'Expo Box Fan coinciderà con l'ultima battaglia di Floyd Mayweather Jr. e l'Indipendenza del Messico fine settimana.
Toney è un ex IBF peso medio, super medi e campione del mondo cruiserweight. Egli è stato considerato come uno dei più grandi combattenti di difesa della sua epoca ed era imbattuto nel suo primo 46 concorsi attacchi. Toney ha combattuto a livello di élite per più di tre decenni ed è un sicuro primo scrutinio Hall of Famer. Toney detiene importanti vittorie Michael Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Mike McCallum, Iran Barkley,Vassiliy Jirov e Evander Holyfield. Con oltre 90 lotte pro nella sua carriera, Non una volta fosse stato mai eliminato e nessun arbitro ha mai avuto a salvarlo o interrompere una rissa, mentre in competizione. Toney è stato anche premiato Ring Magazine e Boxing Writers Association of America Fighter of the Year 1991 and comeback fighter of the year 2003.

Toney condividerà uno stand con l'ABA (American Boxing Association) e hanno le foto, guanti e merci per i suoi fan di godere e acquisto.

 

Toney si unisce Sergio “Chiedere” Martinez , “Orario Dello Spettacolo” Shawn Porter, Pietro “Kid Chocolate” Quillin, “Terribile” Terry Norris, Joel “Pennello” Casamayor, “El Feroz” Fernando Vargas, Ruslan “Siberian Rocky” Provodnikov e Mia San Giovanni tra i primi impegni per Box Fan Expo di quest'anno.

 

Questo evento un'esperienza unica fan, che ha permesso ai fan di incontrare e salutare la boxe leggende, campioni del passato e attuali e altre celebrità dello sport, ha debuttato lo scorso settembre. Quest'anno l'Expo si svolgerà dal10 a.m. a 5 p.m. e ancora una volta, permetterà ai fan la possibilità di raccogliere autografi, scattare foto e merci acquisto e cimeli.

 

Gli espositori, come da Boxe, abbigliamento, mezzi di radiodiffusione e di altre aziende di marca che vorranno partecipare avranno la possibilità di mostrare i loro prodotti ai tifosi e l'intera industria di boxe.

 

Inaugurale Box Fan Expo dello scorso anno ha caratterizzato alcuni dei combattenti più popolari e celebrità di boxe nella storia recente. I tifosi sono stati trattati per visite con Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr, Martinez, Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Mikey Garcia,Toney, Riddick Bowe, Leon Spinks Terry Norris, Indossare, Chris Byrd, Jesse James Leija ,Lamon Brewster, Ray Mercer, Earnie Rasoi, St-John, Erislandy Lara, Quillin, Jean Pascal e Austin Trout. Anche apparire fosse attuale campione WBC Deontay Wilder, il carismatico Vinny Pazienza, Paul Williams, noto commentatore Al Bernstein e allenatore Roger Mayweather di Promozioni Mayweather.
