USA Boxing Elite National Championships
December. 5-9 in Salt Lake City, Utah
COLORADO SPRINGS, Ronde. (December 5, 2017) – The fledgling USA Boxing Alumni Association will host a gala reception deze vrijdag nacht (Dec.) 8, highlighted by the induction of the inaugural class of the USA Boxing Alumni Hall of Fame, at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown in Salk Lake City, Utah.
The reception is being held in conjunction with the 2017 USA Boxing Elite en jeugd Nationale Kampioenschappen en Junior en Prep Open, December. 5-9, also held in Salt Lake City.

The late Ali is the lone three-time lineal world heavyweight champion of all-time, who as an amateur (known then as Cassius Clay), veroverde een gouden medaille op de 1960 Olympics in Rome.
Holyfield was the first and remains the only undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion. Coulter has been a boxing coach for more than 62 jaar, continuing to conduct boxing clinics today around the glove. In addition to coaching the iconic 1988 USA Olympic boxing team, which captured eight individual medals, he was a consultant for the 1996 squad that won 14 meals. A national boxing champion at Syracuse University, Coulter also coaches the U.S. Army Boxing Team.
International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Al Bernstein will serve as Master of ceremonies for Vrijdag evenement. “USA Boxing makes a positive difference in the lives of thousands and thousands of young people ion a daily basis,” the voice of Showtime Boxing said,” and I am so honored to serve as emcee for the inaugural USA Boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame Reception. This new arm of USA Boxing will be a terrific addition to an already great organization. I look forward to it.”.
Four Olympic medalists from Team USA will be in attendance: 1984 gold medalist Paul Gonzales, 1984 en 1988 silver medalists, respectievelijk, Virgil Hill en Michael Carbajal, en 1972 bronze medalist Jessie Valdez.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO (November 30, 2017) – Team USA women’s boxing hopefuls will be competing in the prestigious USA Women’s Elite National Championships, December 5-9, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This year’s field is stacked with talent, inclusief 2016 Olympic Trials Champion Virginia Fuchs (Tent, Texas), who will be looking to close out an impressive 2017 year that included four international titles and an undefeated 16-0 record, and two-time World Champion and 2014 Youth Olympic Champion Jajaira Gonzalez (Fontein, Colo.)
Other top contenders include featherweight Christina Cruz (New York, N.Y.), lichtgewicht Rashida Ellis (Lynn, MA), as well as middleweight Naomi Graham (Colorado Springs, CO) en weltergewicht Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio)
Na een jaar van zeer competitieve nationale evenementen, the best U.S. female amateur boxers are set to compete in the 2017 USA Boxing Elite National Championship. Citlalli Ortiz Wins Welterweight Youth World Championship Title

Isamary Aquino Brings Home Bronze Medal

GUWAHATI, India (November 26, 2017) — Coachella, California-native Citlalli Ortiz closed out her impressive 2017 Women’s Youth World Championships campaign with a split decision victory over Russia’s Nataliya Sychugova to take her first major international title in Guwahati, India.
“Today feels like one of the best days of my life,” stated Ortiz following her win. “Na het gevecht, I doubted myself, but I am extremely happy I pulled out the win and it feels amazing being a world champion.”
Ortiz gold medal closes out a strong showing from the young American delegation. Team USA’s other medal, a bronze, was won yesterday by Isamary Aquino of Universal City, Texas.
“I am extremely proud of my performance at my first international tournament,” said Aquino following her medal ceremony. “It was an honor to be able to represent Team USA and bring home a world championship medal.”
The remaining members of the team included: Aidyl Cardenas (Calexico, Calif.),Diana Estrada (Hillsboro, Oregon), Heaven Garcia (Mt., Calif.), Roma Martinez (Vernederen, Texas), Sharahaya Moreu (Albuquerque, N.M.) en Amy Salinas(Las Cruces, N.M).
This year’s Youth World Championships brought 160 of the world’s top youth female boxers from 36 different countries all vying for one of the 10 world titles up for grabs. Hoofd coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and assistant coaches Koroma (Colorado Springs, Colo.) en Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas) guided Team USA throughout these championships. The boxers and staff of USA Boxing will begin their journey back home to the United States morgen.

Citlalli Ortiz Grabs First Win of Women’s Youth World Championships

Team USA finishes 1-1 on second day; six Americans to enter ring today
GUWAHATI, India (November. 21, 2017) — Day two of the 2017 Women’s Youth World Championships in Guwahati, India brought two members of Team USA into the ring looking to advance one step closer to a world title.
Weltergewicht Citlalli Ortiz (Coachella, Calif.) grabbed Team USA’s first win of the championships with a split decision victory over Nadezhda Ryabets of Kazakhstan. She will return to the ring on Woensdag, November. 22 for a quarterfinals match-up against
The second American in today’s field, middengewicht Sharahya Moreu (Albuquerque, N.M.), fell short of taking the judges card over Russian Anastasiia Shamonova.
Morgen the remaining six members of Team USA will make their tournament debut, inclusief 2015 Junior Wereldkampioen Heaven Garcia (Mt., Calif.) The other five boxers will all be making their international debuts.
Hoofd coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Koroma (Colorado Springs, Colo.) en Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas) are guiding the American delegation in India. This year’s tournament has brought 160 boxers from 31 different countries looking to take one of the ten World titles up for grabs.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Ronde. (November 2, 2017). – The newly created USA Boxing Alumni Association registration is officially open for those interested in becoming members.
The Alumni Association, which was created to champion a lifelong, wederzijds voordelige relaties tussen de VS in dozen en haar alumni, including boxers, ambtenaren, coaches en boxing fans, will help connect generations of champions, as well as help inspire and give back to USA Boxing’s future boxing champions inside and outside the ring.
“The Alumni Association will bring together former boxers, coaches and officials that have reached all levels of success in amateur boxing, as well as people who have a love for Olympic-style boxing,” becommentarieerde Mike McAtee, USA Boxing Executive Director. “This association will help expand our grassroots and help create the future champions of USA Boxing and alumni members.”
Open to anyone possessing a love for the sport and looking to stay connected with amateur boxing, the Alumni Association members are granted access to a variety of special events that will be hosted by the Alumni Association, including the first annual USA boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame reception.
The reception, which will honor and celebrate the five inaugural members of the Alumni Association Hall of Fame, will be held on December 8 in Salt Lake City in conjunction with the 2017 USA Boxing Elite and Youth National Championships & Junior and Prep Open. The five inductees include:

World-renowned CBS and Showtime announcer Al Bernstein will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
“USA Boxing makes a positive difference in the lives of thousands and thousands of young people on a daily basis, and I am so honored to serve as emcee for the inaugural USA Boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame Reception. This new arm of USA Boxing will be a terrific addition to an already great organization,” Bernstein zei. “I look forward to a great week.”
In addition to Bernstein’s role as emcee, many esteemed members of the USA Boxing alumni community are scheduled to attend the inaugural event, inclusief: Michael Carbajal, BJ Flores, Larry Fullmer, Virgil Hill, Raul Marquez, Steve Smoger,Jesse Valdez, Micky Ward en Eddie Weichers.

Houston’s Historic George Foreman Youth and Community Center to Host 2016 Gulf Boxing Association Regional Championships

Premier event – Gulf LBC selects team to travel to USA BOXING Elite National Championships in conjunction with the Selection and Announcement of the First Inaugural George Foreman Youth and Community Center Elite International Travel Team!!
HOUSTON, TX (Oktober 10, 2016) -Starting with the ring of the bell on October 22nd, local area boxers will be fighting for a spot to represent the Gulf Coast Region bij de USA Boxing Nationale Kampioenschappen & in International Travel.
Weight categories will include: Pee Wee 8-9, Bantam 10-11, Intermediate 12-13, Junioren 14-15, Youth 15-16, & Elite 18-40 in both Open and Novice divisions. Winners will represent the Gulf area at the 2016 USA Boxing Elite, Youth and Junior National Championships to be held in Kansas City Missouri December 4-10, 2016. This tournament is a sanctioned event through USA Boxing the National Governing Body of Amateur Boxing and is a feeder to National and Olympic recognition.
De George Foreman Youth and Community Center was founded 32 years ago in 1984 by Olympic Gold Medalist and 2-time heavy weight champion George Foreman. The GFYCC is dedicated to providing a safe and secure location for youth to participate in sports and after school activities.
“This year for the first time in Houston boxing history, we are developing an elite international youth boxing team,” said George Foreman, IV. “The team will be selected for the sole purpose of training and traveling to other countries to gain experience on an international platform and promote cultural diplomacy! Utilizing grant and donor funding this team will be representing the George Foreman Youth and Community Center and will be announced Saturday October 22, at the Gulf Region’s Boxing Championship. The team will be reviewed by my father, 1968 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2-Time Heavyweight Champion, George Foreman Sr. The first international trip for this new Houston team is scheduled for Jan. 2017.”
Doors open for the Gulf Gloves Championships on Saturday October 22nd at 11:00 ben with announcements and the presentation of the colors by the United States Army Houston Recruiting Command Baytown Beaumont Company at 12:45 pm. The national anthem will be performed by the internationally acclaimed Houston Brass Quintet! Boksen begint om 1:00 pm. Championship finals will begin at 1:00 pm op Sunday October 23rd.
Media open workouts for Houston amateur standout boxers will be held Wednesday October 19th at the George Foreman Youth and Community Center at 2202 Lone Oak Road Houston, Texas 77093 bij 4:00 pm.

BOSTON (Oktober. 21, 2015) — USA Boxing New England, in gevestigde 1880 als of fi ciële bestuursorgaan van amateur-boksen in de regio, zal eren vijf voormalige amateur standouts, die ging over tot Wereldkampioenen als professionele boksers geworden, Zondag, November 8 bij Anthony's in Malden.
Vinny Paz (Cranston, RI), Micky Ward (Lowell, MA), Joey Gamache (Lewiston, ME), Jose Antonio Rivera (Worcester, MA) en John Ruiz (Chelsea, MA) zal awards voor hun uitstekende prestaties ontvangen in de wereld van het boksen.
USA Boxing New England zal ook haar inaugurele presenteren Skeets Scioli Lifetime Achievement Award. Scioli diende als president van de VS Boxing New England, nu en dan, tijdens een iconische periode van 70 jaar. Hij overleed in 2010 op de leeftijd van 97.
De Skeets Scioli prijs zal naar scheidsrechter / rechter worden voorgelegd Mike Ryan (Tyngsboro, MA) en coach Carlos Garcia (Worcester, MA) om hun lange tijd bijdrage aan de sport van amateur-boksen.
Al Bernstein, Showtime Championship Boxing commentator en de International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, zal dienen als event emcee. “Dit is een eerbetoon aan enkele van boksen beste,” Bernstein zei. “New England heeft een belangrijke rol gespeeld in het boksen, niet alleen hier in Amerika, maar wereldwijd. Ik ben blij om deel te nemen aan dit evenement en ik kijk ernaar uit om te verbinden met de boxing fans in die regio.”
USA Boxing zal ook hulde brengen aan de huidige atleten en leden. Het evenement is een fundraiser voor jonge amateur-atleten met de reiskosten voor de regionale en nationale toernooien helpen.
