Las Vegas (Februari 20, 2020) – Two-division world champion Michael Spinks has confirmed that he will appear at the sixth annual Box Fan Expo on Saturday, Maj 2, 2020, at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.


Spinks will hold a Meet & Greet with his fans at his booth during the fan event held over the Cinco De Mayo weekend.

The Box Fan Expo is an annual fan event that coincides with some of the sports’ legendarisk, classic fights in Las Vegas, including Mayweather vs. Maidana II, Mayweather vs. Berto, Canelo vs. Chavez Jr., Canelo vs. GGG II, and Canelo vs. Jacobs. Centered in boxing’s longtime home – Las Vegas – this year’s Expo is a must-do for fight fans coming in for this legendary weekend, with dozens of professional fighters, promotorer, and companies involved in the boxing industry. Spinks will make his second appearance at this years’ Expo och kommer att underteckna handskar, foton, personal items and memorabilia. Spinks will also have merchandise on sale at his booth, and fans will also have an opportunity to take pictures with this boxing legend also known as “Jinx.”


About Michael Spinks
Spinks is a two-division world champion, having held the undisputed light heavyweight title from 1983 till 1985, and the lineal heavyweight title from 1985 till 1988. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994. As an amateur he won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1976 Sommar-OS.


Spinks is the brother of former world heavyweight champion Leon Spinks, and uncle of Cory Spinks, a former welterweight and light middleweight champion.
Spinks went undefeated in his first 31 professionella slagsmål, beating such opponents as Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Marvin Johnson and Eddie Davis en route to becoming the undisputed light heavyweight champion. Following ten successful title defenses, Spinks moved up to heavyweight, and as an underdog defeated long-reigning IBF heavyweight champion Larry Holmes; genom att göra så, Spinks became the first reigning light heavyweight world champion to win the heavyweight title. Spinks only defeat in his professional career came to the hands of Mike Tyson on June 27, 1988. The International Boxing Research Organization and BoxRec rank Spinks among the ten greatest light heavyweights of all time.

Förra helgens mellanvikt titel uppgörelse mellan Canelo Alvarez och Daniel Jacobs presenterade också den årliga Box Fan Expo, hölls på Las Vegas Convention Center. Den fantastiska MINNESTECKEN på display och levande amatörboxning åtgärder kompletteras en rad tidigare och nuvarande världsmästare kämpar för snabb träffas och hälsar.

Som en livslång boxning fan, Det var synd att jag bara hade lite mer än två timmar att spendera på händelsen innan tillbaka till T-Mobile Arena för starten av undercard skjutningarna. Tiden jag kunde spendera var grundligt njutbar. Priserna var rimliga för att möta dessa BOXNINGS- legender och har en stund att prata och ta foton. Genomsnittet $20 -$25 priset för ett foto op var betydligt mindre än vad som skulle ha gått förlorade på kasinot i en enda roulette spin.

James Toney var där i en kostym, bevisar att han till och med kan göra pläd se snygg. För en kille känd för en buttre natur, Han var mycket tillmötesgående och nämnde han kommer att vara i Philadelphia för en live show juni 7 och hoppas att se mig där.

I montern nästa över var Hall-of-Fame programföretaget Al Berstein, vem jag hade förmånen att intervjua 2011. Då berättade om min beundran av hans stilrena arbete och är ett fan sedan hans dagar med Barry Tompkins på ESPN: s torsdag kväll Fights, Han var ödmjuk och uppskattande.

Linjen att möta Roy Jones Jr. var lång men värt att vänta. Medan tid att prata med Roy var kort, Jag kunde tala om vad en ära det var att träffa en av de största artisterna i min generation och hur jag satt bara ett par fötter från honom när han var på Creed II set.

Även linjen för att möta den legendariske Sugar Ray Leonard var exceptionellt lång, man kunde se att han verkligen åtnjuter själv, blinkande att miljoner dollar leende och gör sitt berömda nävar-upp foto op med fans. Tyvärr, med tiden ont, I did not have the opportunity to meet one of my favorite fighters growing up. I would have loved to have shown him a photo when I was four-years-old, swinging away on the Sugar Ray Leonard punching bag I was given.

A few feet away was one of Sugar Ray’s most-famous rivals, the great Thomas “Hitman” Hearns. While the Hitman has shown some slowing as he has aged, he still proves to be an imposing figure, but he now replaces that fearsome glare with a warm smile.

Also coming up to meet Thomas Hearns was current IBF Super-Featherweight Champion Tevin Farmer, a fellow Philadelphian, who I’ve had the opportunity to watch grow from a 7-4-1 journeyman boxer to a 29-4-1 världsmästare.

Mitt besök skulle inte vara komplett utan att stanna för att se ”The Pazmanian Devil” Vinny Paz, alltid en av mina favorit action soldater och karismatiska personligheter. I stället för ett handslag, Han hälsade mig med en stor kram och uttryckte besvikelse över att min pappa inte ansluta mig på mässan.

Mikey Garcia, Marco Antonio Barerra, Erik Morales, och Juan Manuel Marquez alla visade sig vara exceptionellt populär. Men ingenting jämfört med bruset av pro-mexikanska publiken när den stora Julio Cesar Chavez infördes.

Delta denna händelse var en dröm och jag kunde bara önskar att jag hade mer tid att spendera på händelsen. Allt var så professionellt gjort och de närvarande var bortom tillmötesgående.

SHAWNEE, Okla. (Sju. 19, 2018) – Former unified world champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez sees big things for his protégé Jon “JonFer” Fernandez as the undefeated super featherweight prepares for his toughest test to date in O’Shaquie Foster in the headlining bout of ShoBox: Den nya generationen detta Fredag, September 21, leva på SHOWTIME (9:45 p.m. ET / PT).

How much has Jon progressed since the last time we saw him on SHOWTIME in June 2017?

 

 

“It’s been over a year since last time Jon fought in the United States. I’ve seen him mature as a person and as a boxer. He’s been in three very difficult fights, he knocked out a Panamanian Olympian and won the WBC Silver belt. He’s now ranked in the top 10 at super featherweight by the WBC.”

 

How far away do you believe Jon is from challenging for a world title opportunity?

 

 

“With every fight, JonFer is a step closer to an opportunity to showcase his talent on the big stage. Jag tror 2019 will be the year where we see him in a big fight against another top 10 opponent or challenging for a title.”

 

You have sparred with Jon in the past, how did that go? Do you still train with him?

 

 

“I train with JonFer a few days a week. He’s so strong. I think he’s stronger than most 130-pounders, and he can pack a punch. He’s a power puncher.”

 

What initially drew you to work with Jon in the beginning?

 

 

“As soon as I met JonFer, I knew I wanted to work with him. His talent stood up right away. I knew he was a hungry, five-star boxer with world championship fever. The perfect prospect.”

 

How do you feel about the matchup Jon has on Friday night against O’Shaquie Foster?

 

 

“Foster is his toughest rival to date, so naturally I’m a little nervous. But I know JonFer has what it takes to get the win. I have a second fighter on the card, Carlos Ramos. I’m always a little nervous when my boxers fight. It’s normal.”

 

Irvin Gonzalez is also undefeated, what does Carlos need to do for the victory?

 

 

“Carlos Ramos doesn’t have to do anything special to defeat Irvin Gonzalez. He just has to be himself. Ramos knows this is the biggest opportunity he has ever had and that this fight can change his life. That’s the best motivation he can have to bring his A-game to the ring on Friday.”

 

What are you thoughts on Carlos as a prospect?

 

 

“I have high hopes for Carlos. He has a lot of talent and is a southpaw, just like me. He reminds me of myself when I was starting. I believe in his potential.”

Vargas will once again appear at this year’s Expo where he will be signing gloves, photos and merchandise at the Box Fan Expo storefront booth from 11 AM to 1 PM. Vargas just came off from a spectacular performance in a mega fight that resulted in a draw versus Adrien Broner this past April at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

 

 

 

Vargas is a Mexican American professional boxer who is a former two-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Regular) and IBO super lightweight titles in 2014 and the WBO welterweight title in 2016.

Las Vegas (Juni 28, 2018) – mästare fyra division världen Erik “Den förskräcklige” Morales has confirmed that he will appear, have a booth and hold a Meet & Greet with his fans at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the fourth Annual Box Fan Expo på Lördag September 15, 2018 från 10a.m to 5pm, during Mexican Independence weekend. The Boxing Expo will also coincide with the highly anticipated rematch between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin, that will take place later that evening.

 

 

 

Morales will have merchandise to sell to his fans, as well as photos, signatures and memorabilia. This is Morales first appearance at the Boxing Expo and is looking forward in meeting his fans.

 

 

 

Erik Morales Nicknamed “Den förskräcklige,” is a retired Mexican boxing legend and is being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of fame in Canastota on June 10th, 2018).Morales compiled a 52-9 record in 61 slagsmål, Inklusive 41 straight wins to start his career, and won world titles in four different weight classes (junior fjädervikt, fjäder, junior lightweight, junior weltervikt). He also ended Manny Pacquiao’s six-year unbeaten streak in 2005 with a unanimous decision win.

 

 

 

Morales notable fights came against Marco Antonio Barrera (nicknamed “The Baby Face Assassin”). The Morales versus Barrera trilogy is one of Boxing’s most famous fight trilogies of all time, involving two of Mexico’s most revered boxers. Their memorable fights were also named Ring Magazine’s fight of the year on February 19, 2000 and once again on November 27, 2004.

He who won a bronze medal as an amateur at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata. Hans smeknamn inkluderar “Vilt”, “Den aztekiska Warrior” och “El Feroz”. Vargas was the youngest open national champion at 16 yrs old. The youngest boxing Olympian at 18yrs old and holds the record in boxing history as the youngest to become jr. middleweight champion at 21 år gammal.

 

 

 

Some of Fernando’s notable wins came against 5 world champions which includes, Raul Marquez, Yori Boy Campus, Ike Quartey, Javier Castillejo and Winky Wright. The living legend retired last December with an incredible 41-6 (33 Kos) pro record, in which he became the only Puerto Rican to capture world titles in four different weights classes, light welterweight through middleweight.

Acosta’s success brings back fond memories for Cotto to when he was in a similar situation as a young world champion. “He does bring back memories for me and he proves that hard work pays off,” Cotto concluded. “Tito is living the dream every boxer has when they choose to box as a living. Now is the most challenging chapter for him to expand his reign and build his legacy.”
