Las Vegas (Februari 20, 2020) – Two-division world champion Michael Spinks has confirmed that he will appear at the sixth annual Box Fan Expo on Saturday, Maj 2, 2020, at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.


Spinks will hold a Meet & Greet with his fans at his booth during the fan event held over the Cinco De Mayo weekend.

The Box Fan Expo is an annual fan event that coincides with some of the sports’ legendarisk, classic fights in Las Vegas, including Mayweather vs. Maidana II, Mayweather vs. Berto, Canelo vs. Chavez Jr., Canelo vs. GGG II, and Canelo vs. Jacobs. Centered in boxing’s longtime home – Las Vegas – this year’s Expo is a must-do for fight fans coming in for this legendary weekend, with dozens of professional fighters, promotorer, and companies involved in the boxing industry. Spinks will make his second appearance at this years’ Expo och kommer att underteckna handskar, foton, personal items and memorabilia. Spinks will also have merchandise on sale at his booth, and fans will also have an opportunity to take pictures with this boxing legend also known as “Jinx.”


About Michael Spinks
Spinks is a two-division world champion, having held the undisputed light heavyweight title from 1983 till 1985, and the lineal heavyweight title from 1985 till 1988. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994. As an amateur he won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1976 Sommar-OS.


Spinks is the brother of former world heavyweight champion Leon Spinks, and uncle of Cory Spinks, a former welterweight and light middleweight champion.
Spinks went undefeated in his first 31 professionella slagsmål, beating such opponents as Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Marvin Johnson and Eddie Davis en route to becoming the undisputed light heavyweight champion. Following ten successful title defenses, Spinks moved up to heavyweight, and as an underdog defeated long-reigning IBF heavyweight champion Larry Holmes; genom att göra så, Spinks became the first reigning light heavyweight world champion to win the heavyweight title. Spinks only defeat in his professional career came to the hands of Mike Tyson on June 27, 1988. The International Boxing Research Organization and BoxRec rank Spinks among the ten greatest light heavyweights of all time.

Förra helgens mellanvikt titel uppgörelse mellan Canelo Alvarez och Daniel Jacobs presenterade också den årliga Box Fan Expo, hölls på Las Vegas Convention Center. Den fantastiska MINNESTECKEN på display och levande amatörboxning åtgärder kompletteras en rad tidigare och nuvarande världsmästare kämpar för snabb träffas och hälsar.

Som en livslång boxning fan, Det var synd att jag bara hade lite mer än två timmar att spendera på händelsen innan tillbaka till T-Mobile Arena för starten av undercard skjutningarna. Tiden jag kunde spendera var grundligt njutbar. Priserna var rimliga för att möta dessa BOXNINGS- legender och har en stund att prata och ta foton. Genomsnittet $20 -$25 priset för ett foto op var betydligt mindre än vad som skulle ha gått förlorade på kasinot i en enda roulette spin.

James Toney var där i en kostym, bevisar att han till och med kan göra pläd se snygg. För en kille känd för en buttre natur, Han var mycket tillmötesgående och nämnde han kommer att vara i Philadelphia för en live show juni 7 och hoppas att se mig där.

I montern nästa över var Hall-of-Fame programföretaget Al Berstein, vem jag hade förmånen att intervjua 2011. Då berättade om min beundran av hans stilrena arbete och är ett fan sedan hans dagar med Barry Tompkins på ESPN: s torsdag kväll Fights, Han var ödmjuk och uppskattande.

Linjen att möta Roy Jones Jr. var lång men värt att vänta. Medan tid att prata med Roy var kort, Jag kunde tala om vad en ära det var att träffa en av de största artisterna i min generation och hur jag satt bara ett par fötter från honom när han var på Creed II set.

Även linjen för att möta den legendariske Sugar Ray Leonard var exceptionellt lång, man kunde se att han verkligen åtnjuter själv, blinkande att miljoner dollar leende och gör sitt berömda nävar-upp foto op med fans. Tyvärr, med tiden ont, I did not have the opportunity to meet one of my favorite fighters growing up. I would have loved to have shown him a photo when I was four-years-old, swinging away on the Sugar Ray Leonard punching bag I was given.

A few feet away was one of Sugar Ray’s most-famous rivals, the great Thomas “Hitman” Hearns. While the Hitman has shown some slowing as he has aged, he still proves to be an imposing figure, but he now replaces that fearsome glare with a warm smile.

Also coming up to meet Thomas Hearns was current IBF Super-Featherweight Champion Tevin Farmer, a fellow Philadelphian, who I’ve had the opportunity to watch grow from a 7-4-1 journeyman boxer to a 29-4-1 världsmästare.

Mitt besök skulle inte vara komplett utan att stanna för att se ”The Pazmanian Devil” Vinny Paz, alltid en av mina favorit action soldater och karismatiska personligheter. I stället för ett handslag, Han hälsade mig med en stor kram och uttryckte besvikelse över att min pappa inte ansluta mig på mässan.

På kort tidsram, det var omöjligt att uppfylla alla de stora fighters där bland annat Michael Spinks, Riddick Bowe, Errol Spence, Anthony Dirrell, och Earnie Rakapparater. Med det är Cinco de Mayo helgen, linjerna för en del av de mexikanska legender lindade runt kongresscentret golvet. Mikey Garcia, Marco Antonio Barerra, Erik Morales, och Juan Manuel Marquez alla visade sig vara exceptionellt populär. Men ingenting jämfört med bruset av pro-mexikanska publiken när den stora Julio Cesar Chavez infördes.

Delta denna händelse var en dröm och jag kunde bara önskar att jag hade mer tid att spendera på händelsen. Allt var så professionellt gjort och de närvarande var bortom tillmötesgående.

Las Vegas (April 26, 2017) – 2 Time världsmästare Marcos Maidana has confirmed that he will appear to Meet & Greet his fans at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 3rd edition of Box Fan Expo som kommer att äga rum Saturday May 6, 2017 from 10am to 5pm, Under Cinco De Mayo helgen. Maidana will appear for the first time at this years’ Expo at the World Boxing Association “WBA” booth and will be signing gloves, photos and merchandise. Maidana is an Argentine former professional boxer who competed from 2004 till 2014. He is a two-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title from 2011 till 2012, and the WBA welterweight title from 2013 till 2014. Las Vegas (April 24, 2017) – 3 Time världsmästare Jessie Vargas has confirmed that he will appear to Meet & Greet his fans at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 3rd edition of Box Fan Expo som kommer att äga rum Saturday May 6, 2017 from 10am to 5pm, Under Cinco De Mayo helgen. The Boxing Expo will also coincide with the mega fight between Canelo Alvarez vs Julio Cesar Chavez jr, that will take place later that evening.
Vargas will appear once again at this year’s Expo at the Supreme / Hykso and Box Fan Expo booth store to sign gloves, photos and merchandise. Boxing fans will also have a great opportunity to take pictures with the Mexican American boxing star.
Vargas is a Mexican American professional boxer who is a former two-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Regular) and IBO super lightweight titles in 2014 and the WBO welterweight title in 2016.
Vargas joins, Mayweather kampanjer, Marco Antonio Barrera, Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Al Bernstein, Thomas Hearns, Kronk Boxing, WBC, Christy Martin, Mia St.John, Fernando Vargas and Joel Casamayor among early commitments to this year’s Box Fan Expo.

Las Vegas (Februari 15, 2017) – Former WBC women’s champion Min “Den Knockout” St. John och Christy “The Coal Miner’s Daughter” Martin has confirmed that they will historically appear and share a booth together to Meet & Greet their fans at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 3rd edition of Box Fan Expo som kommer att äga rum Saturday May 6, 2017 Under Cinco De Mayo helgen. The Boxing Expo will also coincide with the mega fight between Canelo Alvarez vs Julio Cesar Chavez jr, that will take place later that evening.
Martin and St.John are some of the most decorated and famous female professional boxers of all-time. St John was promoted by Bob Arum while Martin was promoted by rival Promoter Don King. They are both former WBC world champions and gained popularity by appearing on some of the biggest undercards in boxing history that were headlined by Mike Tyson with Christy Martin and Oscar De La Hoya with Mia St.John. Further St.John also has appeared on the cover of Playboy Magazine, while Martin appeared on Sports illustrated.

Mia St.John has done countless charity work for different organizations. She founded “El Saber Es Poder/Knowledge Is Power” to empower our youth by providing educational material, equipment and development of Health & Wellness programs. På November 23, 2014, Mia’s son Julian who was a talented artist, avled vid en ålder av 24 after battling Schizophrenia and addiction. I 2015, Mia was named by CNN, “Mental Health Warrior”, along with eight other inspiring people.

Christy Martin on the other hand battled her way back from a November 23, 2010 Stabbing and being shot by her husband who is now serving time in prison for attempted murder. Today Martin is the President and founder of Pink Promotions, a boxing promoting company and is considered by the WBC as the Emeritus Champion. She also formed a non-profit organization called Christy’s Champs, which supports domestic violence as well as other domestic issues.

Las Vegas (Sju. 8, 2015) – Åtta-tiden världsmästare Thomas “Hitmanen” Hearns har bekräftat att han kommer att visas och ha en monter på Las Vegas Convention Center för andra årliga Box Fan Expo som kommer att äga rum Lördag. Den Boxing Expo kommer att sammanfalla med Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto mästerskap kamp, som kommer att äga rum senare samma kväll och mexikanska Independence helgen.

Hearns mer kända som “Hitmanen,” blev den första boxare i historien att vinna världstitlar i fyra divisioner. Han skulle också bli den första fighter i historien att vinna fem världstitlar i fem olika divisioner. Hearns hette ring Magazine Fighter of the Year i 1980 och 1984 och är mest känd för hans slagsmål med Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler och Roberto Duran. Han installerades in i Boxing Hall of Fame 2012.

Lsom Vegas (Juli 21, 2015) – James “Lights Out” Toney, en mästare 12-världsmästare i fem olika viktklasser, har bekräftat att han kommer att visas på Las Vegas Convention Center för den andra årliga Box Fan Expo, Lördag, Sju. 12, 2015. The Box Fan Expo kommer att sammanfalla med Floyd Mayweather Jr: s sista match och mexikanska Independence helgen.
Toney är en före detta IBF mellanvikt, super mellanvikt och mästare Cruiser världen. Han har betraktats som en av de största defensiva kämpar för sin tid och var obesegrad i sin första 46 tävlingar anfall. Toney har kämpat på elitnivå i mer än tre decennier och är ett säkert första valomgången Hall of fame. Toney håller anmärkningsvärda vinner över Michael Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Mike McCallum, Iran Barkley,Vassiliy Jirov och Evander Holyfield. Med över 90 pro slagsmål i hans karriär, inte en enda gång har han någonsin slagits ut och ingen domare har någonsin haft att rädda honom eller stoppa en kamp medan konkurrerande. Toney tilldelades också ring Magazine och boxning Writers Association of America Fighter of the Year 1991 and comeback fighter of the year 2003.
