LAS VEGAS (Décembre 17, 2016) – Tonight’s final round of the 2016 “Knockout Night at the D” series ended in typical style as “Puissant” Aston Palicte won a 10-round split decision over previously undefeated “Lil'” Oscar Cantu in a terrific super flyweight match from start to finish inside the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center indoor facility.
Le “Knockout Night at the D” série, présenté par D Las Vegasand Down town Las Vegas Events Center, was promoted by Roy Jones Jr. (JJR) Promotions de boxe. This evening’s seventh and final “Knockout at the D” event in 2016 a été diffusé en direct sur CBS Sports Network and streamed worldwide on FloBoxing.tv
The Palicte vs. Cantu main event, as expected, was a classic match-up of contrasting styles between a dangerous puncher (Palicte) and consummate boxer (Cantu). There was surprising non-stop action from the opening bell. Power punching Palicte (22-2, 18 KOs) pressed the action as the clear aggressor, but Cantu stood in the pocket, trop, as the technician used his defensive skills to make things difficult for his world rated Filipino opponent.
En fin de compte, it all came down to the 10e tour, which Palicte swept on all three judges’ scorecards for a hard-fought split decision victory by scores of 98-92, 96-94, 94-96. Palicte, Non classé. 11 par la Fédération internationale de boxe (IBF) et n. 15 par l'Organisation mondiale de boxe (WBO), took Cantu’s North American Boxing Federation (NABF) title belt in addition to capturing the vacant WBO Inter-Continental strap.
Cantu, qui est classé n. 4 as a flyweight by the World Boxing Council (WBC), showed tremendous heart, granite chin and the ability to move extremely well, throwing punches from every conceivable angle. The difference, cependant, proved to be Palicte’s slugging ability in this classic confrontation in which the puncher barely prevailed against the boxer.
Dans la co-métrage, Jamaican junior middleweight Nathaniel “No Problem” Gallimore(16-1-1, 13 KOs) scored a spectacular first-round knockout of previously unbeaten Angelo “Bombardero” Baez (15-1-1, 11 KOs), the Chilean junior middleweight champion.
Gallimore hurt Baez midway through the opening round and then closed the show with vicious left to the liver that dropped Baez to his knees. In obvious pain, he was unable to get to his feet before the 10 compter.
Galiimore (pictured above in green), who fights out of Chicago, dedicated the fight to his stablemate, la fin Ed Brown (20-0), who was murdered earlier this month. “I saw a tape of him (Baez) and knew he backed up to the ropes,” Gallimore explained the finish. “I practiced that shot in the gym and I’m very happy with the outcome. I told all my teammates back in Chicago that I was dedicating this fight to Ed Brown.”
Los Angeles junior middleweight Flavio Rodriguez (6-0, 5 KOs) kept his undefeated record intact against previously unbeaten Mexican fighter Dilan “El Tremendo” Loza(5-1, 3 KOs) in the television opener. Rodriguez, who one point during his 4 1/2-year hiatus from the ring weighed 90 pounds more than he entered the ring tonight, won by way of a third-round technical knockout. Loza was hurt by an accidental shot to the base of his head in the third and he was later dropped in the same round by the heavy-handed Rodriguez. Arbitre Jay Nady halted the bout after the third round.
Rodriguez (L) paralyzed Dilan Loza with a liver shot
“Pour la plupart,” Rodriguez said, “he didn’t do anything different. I thought I controlled the fight with my jab. My boy, Lion (Santa Cruz, friends from LA), was a world champion and I want to get to his level.”
In a battle of unbeaten welterweight prospects, favori ville natale Jérémie “J-Flash” Nichols (7-0-1, 2 KOs) and San Diego’s Kevin “KO” Ottley (3-0-1) s'est battu pour un match nul en 6 rounds.
Kevin Otttley (L) & Jeremy Nichols fought to a draw
RJJ-promoted fighters, junior léger Excité “Le Matador” Moreno (8-0, 7 KOs) et coq max “The Baby-Faced Assassin” Ornelas (7-0, 3 KOs), were both successfully showcased on the undercard.
Fast moving Moreno won his eighth fight en neuf mois, arrêt “Argent” Mike Fowler (5-4, 2 KOs) dans le quatrième tour. Moreno improves each fight, showing incredible poise for a 21-year old boxer, and he legitimately rates as a national prospect to watch.
Moreno (L) continué à rouler
Ornelas dropped Jorge Perez (6-5-1, 3 KOs) in the second round on his way to a shutout decision over four rounds. The 18-year-old Ornelas recorded the seventh win of his 6-month pro career.
Ornelas (L) est maintenant 7-0 et seulement 18 ans
Se battre aussi sur la sous-carte, Texas junior featherweight Jessie “Le One” Hernandez pour améliorer 8-1 (6 KOs) with a 6-round unanimous decision over Sharone “Smoke” Charretier (6-2, 2 KOs).

LA GLACE
Devis: “

LAS VEGAS (Mai 21, 2016) – Determined Phoenix middleweight Andrew “Ouragan” Hernandez shocked heavy favorite Arif “The Pedator” Magomedov in tonight’s main event on the “Knockout Night at the D” carte, which aired live on CBS Sports Network from under the neon lights at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) outdoor venue.
Le “Knockout Night at the D” série, présenté par D Las Vegasand DLVEC, est promu par Roy Jones Jr. (JJR) Promotions de boxe. Tonight’s event was promoted in association with Main Events and Shamo Boxing Promotions.
Before a sold-out crowd, Hernandez (12-4-1, 4 KOs) pounded world-rated middleweight Magomedov (17-1, 10 KOs), remportant une décision unanime en 10 tours (100-89 deux fois, 98-91) for the vacant USNBC middleweight title. Hernandez hurt Magomedov in the third and seventh rounds, finally dropping the tough Russian (WBA #2, WB) #3, WBA #5 et IBF #14) dans le 10e.
“This fight changes everything for me,” Hernandez proclaimed. “He’s very good and deserves all of the accolades he’s received but I now have my head on straight and I’m focused. My jab was very important tonight. He’s very strong but I wanted to fight him inside because I knew he couldn’t take it from me. Je suis très bien préparés. I think I may have broken my ankle in the fourth round but I kept going. Je voulais en finir avec lui, get the knockout, but he’s a very tough fighter. He has heart and showed why he has all of those accolades.”
Four weeks ago, Hernandez was preparing to fight as a cruiserweight. Il a perdu 40 pounds to make weight for this middleweight fight in what turned out to be one of the biggest upsets of the year.

Vera remained undefeated and retained his NABA-USA title.
“I knew eventually he’d put his hands down and I’d catch him,” Vera explained. “I thank him for the opportunity to fight. He’s helluva fighter, I give him that, but I know I’m a warrior. I took some shots but gave ’em, trop. I broke him down and just kept throwing those lefts.”

Nady stopped the fight without counting when a badly hurt Vargas (4-1, 3 KOs) hit the deck hard.
“I happy that I put on a good performance for my fans,” Haney commented after the fight. “My team put together the strategy to use my jab and breakdown his body. I picked up my combinations did what I was told to do.”
(L-R) — Devin Haney & Jairo Vargas
