FOURTH PRO BOUT ANNOUNCED FOR FEBRUARY 8 MMA EVENT IN PORTLAND

PER PUBLICACIÓ IMMEDIATA: Portland, Maine (Desembre 10, 2019) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) esdeveniment, “NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction,” en dissabte, Febrer 8, 2020 at Merrill Auditorium in Portland. 2019 was a banner year for Boucher. He finished his amateur career with a stellar 6-3 record and captured NEF’s amateur flyweight title at “NEF 41” last month in what would be his final amateur fight. Boucher has won his last four fights in a row – all by first round rear-naked choke submission. Shortly after his title victory, Boucher engaged in a heated exchange on Facebook with Fox who challenged Boucher to enter the pro ranks to fight him. Boucher was quick to accept the challenge. He currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) of Lewiston, Maine.

“I closed out 2019 by doing exactly what I said I was going to do,” stated Boucher.  “I went 3-0 and won the New England Fights Amateur Flyweight Title. I planned on taking time off to focus on my unborn child’s arrival. No obstant això, Norman had quite a mouthful to say and asked for the fight. Així, I did what fighters do and took the fight immediately. Norman is in for a long night on February 8th. I hope for his sake that he fully prepares for this. Norman Fox returns to the NEF cage after a four year hiatus from competition. He was last seen at “NEF 21” in February 2016 in a losing effort in his professional debut. Fox went 4-2 com a aficionat, finishing his opponents in all four of his wins. Fox is currently a member of First Class MMA based in Brunswick, Maine.

“Nate is one-dimensional,” declared Fox.  “All he can do is wrestle. If he doesn’t immediately shoot for a takedown, he will as soon as my hands touch his face. I’m dangerous everywhere. If he does get the fight to the ground, he will regret it.”

The catchweight bout joins an already star-studded lineup on the professional portion of the card. Previously announced for “NEF 42” is a five-round professional lightweight title fight between former NEF champion and World Series of Fighting veteranBruce Boyington "Pretty Boy" (17-11) and WEC and UFC veteranJosh “The Fluke” Grispi(14-5).  Another lightweight fight announced for “NEF 42” will feature two Maine fan-favorites as reigning NEF Professional Featherweight ChampionJosh “Hook On” Harvey(7-0-1) posa el seu rècord invicte en la línia contraJesse “The Viking” Erickson (9-8) in a non-title encounter. The back-and-forth battle with Veinott ended in a split decision, and it has been nominated for “2015 NEF Fight of the Year.” Later in 2015, Fox and teammate Jason Lachance (2-3) purchased the MMA Athletix gym in Bath, Maine from their former coach, Ryan Cowette (2-3). The upcoming bout with Warne will be the first of a multi-fight developmental deal Fox signed recently with NEF.

 

“Brandon and I seem like a pretty even match up,” va dir Fox. “Expect a fast-paced fight that could end at any moment.”

 

Brandon Warne is a member of Team Bombsquad based out of Ithaca, Nova York. He excelled in the amateur ranks of the sport, amassing a record of 5-1 with three finishes. Warne made his professional MMA debut this past October in Rhode Island in a losing effort to David Baxter (2-0). He comes to Maine looking for his first win as a pro against Fox.

Lewiston, Maine (Abril 24, 2015) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF), Número u de la promoció de lluita regional d'Amèrica, celebrarà el seu divuitè mixtes d'arts marcials (MMA) esdeveniment, “NEF XVIII: Made in America,” a Dissabte, Juny 13, 2015 al Androscoggin Banc Colisee a Lewiston, Maine. El dia d'avui, the promotion announced that the inaugural NEF MMA Amateur Flyweight Champion will be determined that evening when Dustin Veinott (3-3) rematches “Somnolent” Norman Fox (4-1) at the flyweight limit of 125-pounds. Veinott and Fox initially met in their double amateur debut at “NEF IX” en Biddeford, Maine nearly two years ago with Fox taking the win via first-round technical knockout (QUI).

 

Dustin Veinott, a striking coach at Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) a Auburn, Maine, got off to a slow start in his MMA career, losing his first three bouts in the NEF cage. Not one to give up due to a setback, Veinott came roaring back and is currently on a three-fight win streak. De fet, he has defeated all three of his most recent opponents in the first round, two by submission and one by TKO. Veinott was considering retiring from the cage after his most recent victory over Dave Brown (1-3), but decided against it when the chance to fight for the flyweight title was presented. Regardless of the outcome this time around, Veinott predicts an exciting contest against Fox.

 

“This is going to be a very entertaining fight,” said Veinott of the rematch. “Don’t blink though because this fight will not go the distance – either Norman or myself will be finished during the fight. So expect a high-action fight between two guys that are at the top of their game right now.”

 

Norman Fox is undefeated in the NEF cage. The only loss of his career to date came on a fight card in Plymouth, Massachusetts on which Fox was competing for a regional title. He is currently a member of Ryan Cowette’s (2-2) MMA Athletix gym, as well as Cowette’s Victory Church ministry. Fox realizes that he and Veinott are not the same fighters who stepped into the cage for the first time on that balmy night in the summer of 2013.

 

“Normally I don’t like rematches, but Dustin and I have grown as fighters so anything can happen,” said Fox when reached for comment. “Once they lock the cage door, it’s all in God’s hands.”

NEW ENGLAND FIGHTS ANNOUNCES THE RESULTS OF NEF XVII

Lewiston, Maine (Abril 12, 2015) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF), Número u de la promoció de lluita regional d'Amèrica, held its seventeenth mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF XVII,” Dissabte nit al Androscoggin Banc Colisee a Lewiston, Maine. A crowd of more than 2,000 was on hand to take in the action.

 

The co-main event of the evening saw Dennis “La Amenaça” Olson (13-7) win a split decision victory over Jarod “Última Hora” Lawton (4-2). Jamie Harrison (6-1) stopped NEF MMA Lightweight Champion Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (10-8) via first-round submission in a non-title bout in the card’s main event. In a women’s amateur bout earlier in the evening, L'esposa de Boyington Randi Bet Knowles (1-0) derrotat Walker (0-1) via unanimous decision in a thrilling back-and-forth contest.

 

Addicionalment, NEF announced that the promotion’s next MMA event would take place at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Juny 13, 2015. The event is titled “NEF XVIII: Made in America” and it will feature the professional debut of Crowsneck Boutin (6-7 amateur) as he meets “Junkyard Dog” Ryan Cowette (3-2) in a middleweight contest. It was further announced that Ryan Glover(1-0) i Billy Leahy (2-1) will fight for the first ever NEF MMA amateur title in the heavyweight division on Juny 13.

Lewiston, Maine (Abril 10, 2015) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF), Número u de la promoció de lluita regional d'Amèrica, held weigh-ins for its seventeenth mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF XVII,” earlier today at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center in Lewiston, Maine. “NEF XVII” will take place at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee located at 190 Birch Street in Lewiston demà, Dissabte, Abril 11 amb portes d'obertura en 6:00 pm. Lewiston, Maine (Març 18, 2015) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF), Número u de la promoció de lluita regional d'Amèrica, torna a la Androscoggin Banc Colisée a Lewiston, Maine a Abril 11, 2015 amb els seus dissetena mixtes d'arts marcials (MMA) esdeveniment. El dia d'avui, la companyia va anunciar la cartellera completa per a l'esdeveniment. La targeta està programada per presentar una llista completa de les dues baralles professionals i aficionats. “Jo no recordo haver tingut aquest tipus de resposta a una targeta de la lluita abans,” dit NEF co-propietari i promotor Nick DiSalvo. “Hi ha hagut molt d'entusiasme per totes les baralles que hem anunciat. En l'esdeveniment principal de la nit, Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington(10-7) defensa el títol lleuger NEF MMA contra el contendent número u Jamie Harrison (5-1). La baralla es va fer en les hores següents “NEF XV” el novembre passat quan Boyington va defensar amb èxit el títol contra Jesse Erickson (3-4) i Harrison maltractat Tollison Lewis (0-4) en el seu camí a una victòria per submissió ràpida. La baralla serà la segona defensa de Boyington del títol des que va guanyar al setembre passat.

 

L'esdeveniment co-estel·lar de la vetllada comptarà amb una baralla de pes welter molt esperat entre Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) cinturó negre Jarod “Última Hora” Lawton (4-1) i el veterà de Bellator Dennis “La Amenaça” Olson (12-7). En les últimes setmanes, Lawton i Olson s'han involucrat en una guerra de paraules en els mitjans de comunicació social, que va veure als dos atletes’ respectius partidaris salten a la refrega.

Fox està invicte en sòl de Maine i és actualment el pes mosca aficionat nombre de tres classificat en el Nord-est. Castaño va lluitar per la Universitat Estatal de Plymouth, on va ser un guanyador de quatre vegades All-New England.

El company de Dexter Jeremy Tyler (4-3) es quadra amb Alex Johnson (1-1) de Ruthless MMA & Boxa en una baralla de pes ploma. I l'esposa de Bruce Boyington, Randi Bet Knowles (0-0), es reunirà Walker (0-0) en una baralla de pes palla de doble debut.
