NEF ANNOUNCES SUMMER’S HOTTEST FIGHT CARD

PER PUBLICACIÓ IMMEDIATA: Lewiston, Maine (Juliol 16, 2025) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra ("NEF") presents its next event “NEF 63: Cruel Summer,” on Saturday, Agost 9, 2025, at the Lewiston Memorial Armory in Lewiston, Maine. The event will make history as the first ever sanctioned hybrid mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and kickboxing card in Maine. Tickets are on sale now atwww.nefights.com/tickets/.  The event will also stream live atwww.CombatSportsNow.com.

El dia d'avui, NEF announced the full fight card for the event. A mega-card consisting of two dozen bouts was released featuring a slew of MMA title fights, grudge matches, and kickboxing contests.

“This is old school NEF,” proclaimed NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “This will be reminiscent of the marathon cards we used to host in Lewiston back in the day. Just non-stop action from the time the first fight hits the cage to the last. We really wanted to put something special together for our debut at the Armory and for the debut of regulated kickboxing in Maine. This is a must-see event for combat sports fans!  You WILL get your money’s worth on this night!"

The big story of the evening is the retirement fight of Lewiston/Auburn’s own Jesse “The Viking” Erickson (11-9).  Erickson, one of the promotion’s most popular athletes, competed on the “NEF 1” card in Lewiston back in 2012. He has consistently been a top challenger for NEF’s pro lightweight title over the years representing nearby Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ).  Erickson will step into the NEF cage one final time, facing Massachusetts’ Brian Cosco (2-2) at a catchweight of 165 pounds in a professional MMA bout.

The main event of the night will feature Nick Eldridge (4-0) defending the promotion’s professional MMA bantamweight title against the challenge of top Canadian prospect Olivier Poisson (3-0).  Eldridge won the 135-pound championship at “NEF 62” this past May handing previously undefeated Tim Fargo (3-1) the first loss of his professional career.

Eldridge’s Nostos teammate Nathaniel Grimard (7-5) will face First Class MMA’s Felipe Günter (3-1) in the hotly anticipated co-main event for NEF’s professional MMA featherweight strap. Both competitors have been extremely popular with fans throughout their respective careers. Both held gold with the promotion as amateurs.

Local favorite “Killa” Kam Arnold (6-1) will look to keep his four-fight win streak alive when he meets savvy Pennsylvania veteran Charlie “The Madman” Gathers (9-11) in a catchweight MMA bout.

Also featured on the professional portion of the MMA card: Fred Allen Sfeir (1-0) and Josue Sotero (1-0) will each put their undefeated record on the line in a featherweight contest; Tyler Smythe (5-6) returns to the MMA cage after a recent jaunt in the boxing ring to meet Erick Alvarado (2-2); and Rumford, Maine’s Nate Boucher (0-5) and Florida’s Paul Walters (0-7) both look for the first victory of their respective professional MMA careers in a catchweight bout.

Two title fights will headline the amateur MMA portion of the fight card.

Undefeated Nate “The Mule” White (7-0) will square off with Brandon Oldenburg (2-3) for the vacant amateur MMA heavyweight title. White will compete for the first time in 21 months. Oldenburg is on a two-fight win streak with two first-round knockouts.

Sean Wakefield (7-4) is scheduled to fight Preston LaPointe (4-1) for NEF’s amateur MMA welterweight belt. The pair previously met in Indiana this spring for a regional championship. LaPointe won a very close split decision in that first fight. A highly-competitive rematch is anticipated.

Also featured on the amateur portion of the MMA card will be a bantamweight bout between highly-skilled competitors Julian Connerton (6-3) and Qasim Abdullah (3-1).

Seven amateur kickboxing bouts are scheduled for the “NEF 63” undercard.

As the card order now stands, Ben Perry (0-0) from Nostos and Abdinajib Adan (1-0) of the Choi Institute will have the honor of being the first regulated kickboxing bout in Maine history.

William Lagasse (0-0) will meet Connor Morrill (3-0) in an amateur kickboxing bout. It will be a rematch of their first meeting – an amateur MMA fight won by Lagasse via first-round knockout.

Also on the amateur kickboxing portion of the card, 52-year-old Ice Young (0-0) will make his NEF debut against Daniel Heredia (1-0) in a light heavyweight contest.

PER PUBLICACIÓ IMMEDIATA: Lewiston, Maine (Maig 22, 2019) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) torna dissabte a l'Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Juny 22 amb el seu proper esdeveniment d'arts marcials mixtes, “NEF 39: TOTAMERICANA.” El dia d'avui, la promoció de lluita va anunciar l'addició d'una lluita pel títol amateur a la carta. Carlton Charles (3-2) s'enfrontarà a Jordan Norman (2-1) per al cinturó vacant de pes mitjà amateur.

Abans d'entrar a les files de MMA, Carlton Charles va deixar la seva empremta al camp de futbol. Jordan Norman ha recorregut un llarg camí des del seu debut a NEF el juny passat. Va perdre aquella nit per nocaut a la primera ronda, però Norman tornaria disparant en els seus dos combats següents. TOP AMATEUR PROSPECTS WILL MEET IN WOMEN’S FIGHT AT NEF 37

Bangor, Maine (Gener 10, 2019) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) celebrarà el seu proper esdeveniment d'arts marcials mixtes, “NEF 37: Sub Zero,” el divendres, Febrer 1, 2019 al Cross Insurance Center de Bangor, Maine. El dia d'avui, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s flyweight fight to the card. Glory Watson (2-0) s'enfrontarà a Rachael Lippert (4-2) amb un pes de baralla de 125 lliures-.

Glory Watson made her mark in the NEF cage in 2018 with wins over Chelsea Tucker and Megan Rosado. It earned her a nomination in the “Novençà de l'Any” category. She was the runner-up to fellow undefeated amateur rookie Zac Richard (3-0) in fan voting last month. Watson trains with Young’s MMA in Bangor. The fight with Lippert will be her first in her hometown.

“I’ve continued to train and challenge myself since my victory in Portland this past November,” said Watson.“I’m really excited to finally make my debut in my hometown to kickstart 2019 with a three-fight run streak over the next three months! I’m looking forward to my return to the cage and to show my supporters the hard work that I’ve been putting in to maintain my career with zero losses!"

Rachael Lippert is also riding a two-fight win-streak into this bout. Last month, she was victorious on a card in Minnesota put on by national promotion Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA).  She is a 25-year-old with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu representing Fearless MMA of Janesville, Wisconsin.

“I am happy to have the opportunity to travel and fight,” said Lippert. “En aquest punt, we decided we weren’t going to accept higher weight or lower record fights. CRESPO OUT, MURPHY IN AGAINST ARNOLD IN NEF TITLE FIGHT

Portland, Maine (Maig 31, 2018) – Earlier this week, Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) officials were informed that Mike Crespo had been injured during his fight camp and would be unable to compete at “NEF 34: Home of the Brave” a Juny 16 a Portland. Crespo had originally been scheduled to face Kam Arnold (3-0) for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. Killian Murphy (1-0) has stepped up to replace Crespo and take on Arnold at Aura for the 135-pound title in a scheduled five-round affair.

Murphy made his debut at “NEF 33” last month in Portland with an impressive victory over Krishna Scott (0-1) per nocaut tècnic en el primer round. He is no stranger to the winner’s circle. Murphy is a former Maine state wrestling champion, having captured a class-A title for Marshwood High School in Elliott in 2015. Avui, he trains with Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire under the guidance of UFC signee, and former NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, Devin Powell (8-3). Murphy was originally scheduled to compete against Gabriel Diaz of Florida at “NEF 34,” but Diaz pulled out of that fight earlier this month.

“It’s an exciting turn of events to end up fighting for the 135-pound belt,” said Murphy. “The goal when I started this journey was to win that belt – and I am thankful for this opportunity. I want to thank NEF, my coaches, my teammates and supporters. June 16th, I’m taking that belt home to Nostos.”

Perhaps no other member of the NEF roster has had the run in the last twelve months that Kam Arnold has had. He has cut through three opponents in the first round like a hot knife through butter including an eleven-second knockout of veteran David Thompson last month at “NEF 33.” Arnold is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Lewiston, Maine.

BANTAMWEIGHT BOUT ADDED TO ALREADY-STACKED PORTLAND FIGHT CARD

Portland, Maine (Maig 24, 2018) – Last week New England Fights (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, intitulat “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Juny 16, 2018 with a bell-time of 7:00 pm EDT. NEF matchmakers, però, were still hard at work on adding fights to the card, and earlier today they announced the addition of an amateur bantamweight bout to the event. The lead-up to “NEF 34” has been somewhat of a wild ride for Henry Clark. He was originally scheduled to face Florida’s Krishna Scott (0-1) on the card. Just prior to the announcement of the full fight card, Scott’s camp informed NEF that he was pulling out of the fight. Clark remained in training camp at the Choi Institute in Portland in the hope that NEF matchmakers would find him a replacement opponent. When Dave Brown stepped up to the plate, Clark was quick to accept the opportunity to fight in front of his hometown fans and friends once more.

 

 

 

“I’m so grateful that Dave Brown stepped up,” va dir Clark. “It takes a lot of guts to take a short notice fight. I would have fought anyone on a week’s notice if it meant fighting in Portland. Prior to his time competing in MMA, Brown wrestled for Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. He will return to NEF after a three-year absence following his loss to Norman Fox in the spring of 2015. Marró, “‘Downtown’ Dave Brown” as he is known to his fans and friends, is looking forward to his return to action.

After a successful amateur career that saw him claim the NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Title, Ricky Dexter made his pro debut last month at “NEF 27.” He was able to drop Matt Denning in the first round with a vicious body shot that had thousands in the Colisee cringing. El Bangor, Maine native will make his first appearance as a member of Young’s MMA at “NEF 28,” having previously fought under the banner of Team Irish.

“Keenan Raymond is coming to my home turf, and I’m going to show him how tough we are up North,” Said Dexter. “I’m new to the pro ranks, but I’ve got the work ethic of a seasoned vet. I’ve got the strength of a middle weight and the cardio like the Diaz brothers and I’m always looking for the finish. Hungry for 29 d'abril!”

Representing Southern New England will be Providence, Rhode Island’s Keenan Raymond. A longtime competitor on the New England MMA scene, Raymond will look to work off some cage rust as he has not fought since January 2016. He is by no means a one-dimensional fighter. Raymond has displayed a solid foundation in both striking and mat work throughout his career with finishes coming by way of knockout as well as submission. He currently trains at Ricardo Cavalcanti Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mayo Quanchi Judo and Wrestling.

“I’m sure Ricky’s a game opponent, but I can promise he’s never faced a force like me,” said Raymond. “I’m healthy and my versatility will finish this fight one way or another.”
