De vechtsportshow van deze week is een situatie van gespleten persoonlijkheid. We hadden technische problemen om ons allemaal bij elkaar te krijgen voor de show, dus hebben we Tom en Tony opgenomen die donderdagavond met elkaar aan het chatten waren. Ik heb vandaag mijn portie toegevoegd. Het leidde allemaal tot een ongelooflijk inzicht in Mayweather vs. McGregor, Het groeiende probleem van Dana White met ontevreden sterren in de UFC, Broner vs. Garcia en Lomachenko vs.. Marriaga. We breken ook Jon Jones af door Daniel Cormier te verslaan bij UFC 214 en de implicaties voor een confrontatie met Brock Lesnar in de Octagon. Het is verre van waarschijnlijk, maar het is intrigerend. We gaan ook in op de pensionering van Juan Manuel Marquez en Wladimir Klitschko.

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada (Augustus 5, 2017) – De Lomachenko vs., Marriagacard will air tonight, vanaf 9 p.m. EN / 6 p.m. PT, exclusively in Canada on Super Channel, live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Superster Vasyl “Hi-tech” Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KO), arguably the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Lightweight World Championship against WBO No. 10-gerangschikt mededinger Miguel “The Scorpian” Marriaga (25-2, 21 KO) in het 12-round main event.
Three exciting fights on the stacked “Lomachenko vs., Marriaga” kaart, promoted by Top Rank, zullen uitsluitend lucht in Canada op Super Channel.
In this evening’s 12-round co-feature, BUURMAN & NABF lightweight champion “Suiker” Raymundo Beltran(33-7-1, 21 KO) faces former two-time Interim World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Featherweight World Champion Bryan Vasquez (36-2, 19 KO). Only Beltran can win the two belts because Vasquez came in overweight.
California super lightweights Jonathan Chicas (15-2, 7 KO) en Arnold Barboza, Jr. (26-0, 7 KO) are set to battle in the eight-round television opener on Super Channel.

The 29-year-old Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KO) will be challenged by two-time world title challenger, dangerous Colombian knockout artist Miguel “The Scorpian” Marriaga (25-2, 21 KO), the WBO No. 10-gerangschikt mededinger, in het 12-round main event.

Lomachenko is regarded by many as the greatest amateur boxer of his time and arguably all-time having captured two Olympic gold medals (2008 & 2012) and three World Championships, reportedly losing only once in 396 amateur-aanvallen.
Eight (7-1) of his nine fights during his three-year pro career have been in world title fights, including world title winning performances in two different weight classes, WBO featherweight and junior lightweight.
