“THE RECONQUEST” KIM CLAVEL VS. NAOMI REYES on April 28 op Place Bell in Laval, Canada

LAVAL, Quebec, Canada (Maart 16, 2023) — Montreal’s Kim Clavel (16-0-1, 3KO) will step back into the ring to take on Naomi “La Chapita” Arellano Reyes (9-2-0, 5KO), Los Angeles, voor de vacante World Boxing Council (WBC) International Flyweight Championship on April 28, op Place Bell in Laval. The vacant WBC international flyweight title will be on the line as confirmed by the WBC. We have also requested sanctions for the division’s IBF Inter-Continental and WBO Inter-Continental titles as well. Verbal confirmation has been obtained and we expect to receive the required sanctions confirmation within the next few hours.

This will be the first fight for Clavel, 32, since the incredible clash this past of January 13 against World Boxing Association (WBA) world champion Yesica Nery Plata (29-2-0, 3KO), which the popular Canadian lost by decision in her first WBC title defense.

April 28th will mark the start of Clavel’s “RECONQUEST”, who intends to prove herself again by positioning her for a rematch with Plata as quickly as possible. She is presently ranked as the WBC #1, WBO #3 en IBF #4 mededinger.

Her most notable win was versus former multiple time world champion Carina Moreno (25-7-0, 6KO) in 2020. In her last outing last October,  Reyes lost by decision against Gabriela Fundura (8-0-0, 4KO) for the WBC Latino flyweight title in a PBC event broadcast on Showtime.

Clavel and Reyes were supposed to face each other in August 2021 at the IGA Stadium, but the latter had to withdraw due to health restrictions to enter Canada, and she was replaced by Maria Vargas (14-4-1, 1KO).

“It is with great enthusiasm and confidence that we are relaunching Kim with the ultimate goal of allowing her to avenge her defeat and regain her world title,” said GYM President Yvon Michel. “We remember the great intense and passionate fight between the two champions last January. To return to the world championship, Kim must prove herself again and these international titles will allow her to become a must challenger for the champion.”

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Canada (Maart 4, 2022) – Like so many fellow brave Ukrainians, Serhii “El Flaco” Bohachuk (20-1, 20 KO) has returned home in defense of his country fighting alongside his compatriots against the Russian invasion, which has forced his withdrawal from a scheduled March 25th showdown with Canadian super welterweight Mikaël Zewski (35-2, 23 KO).

Vidéotron Coliseum in Trois-Rivières, Canada, will host its inaugural professional boxing event, vanaf 7 p.m. EN, which is presented by Mise-O-Jeu, co-promoted by a Groupe Yvon Michel (SPORTSCHOOL) with Probellum, and in collaboration with Deacon Sports and Entertainment Ltd.

Bohachuk joins other Ukrainian fighters who have joined the fight such as retired former world heavyweight champions Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, as well as reigning World unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and 3-time, 3-division World title holder Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Zewski, a former IBF North American and WBO NABO welterweight champion, is fighting at super welterweight for only the second time. His new opponent in the 10-round main event for the WBC Continental Americas Super Welterweight Championship is former world title challenger Carlos “Chema” Ocampo Manriquez (32-1, 20 KO), van Mexico, whose lone pro loss was in 2018 to IBF Welterweight World Champion Errol Spence, Jr.

MONTREAL (Februari 15, 2022) – Today’s scheduled World Boxing Council (WBC) purse bid has been avoided as Groupe Yvon Michel (SPORTSCHOOL) announces an agreement has been reached with Titov Promotions, which promotes undefeated mandatory challenger Evgeny Romanov (16-0, 11 KO), van Rusland, for WBC Bridgerweight World Champion Oscar “Kaboom” Rivas’ first title defense.

Under this agreement, GYM obtained the rights to promote Rivas’ first WBC defense. “We are very happy with this outcome,” GYM President Yvon Michel said. “I would like to thank Mr. Alex Titov for his co-operation. We intend to hold this world championship in June, in Montreal or possibly in Colombia, where discussions are currently taking place. It was important for us that Oscar defends his crown in a familiar environment.”

Trained by Marc Ramsey, Rivas captured the WBC World title last October 22,winning a unanimous decision over Ryan Rozicki (13-1, 13 KO) at the Olympia in Montreal.

Colombia-native Rivas, who represented his country at the 2008 Olympische Spelen, became the first WBC World Champion in the history of the Bridgerweight Division. Romanov, for his part, became the mandatory contender by virtue of his 12-round dominance over compatriot Dmitry Kudryashov (24-5, 23 KO) last May in Khimki, Rusland. Romanov had an excellent amateur career, even registering a knockout victory over Deontay Wilder, the future WBC World Heavyweight Champion, in an international tournament.

“I am happy to be able to defend my WBC bridgerweight belt in familiar terrain and quickly,” Rivas commented. “I intend to keep this belt for a long time. Bovendien, whether my promoter GYM has obtained the rights to promote in my adopted city, Montreal, or in my native country, Colombia, I feel confident and surrounded by the best. It helps me stay focused on my goals.”

MENG FANLONG VERDIENT TITELSCHOT VS. BETERBIEV – LIJKT OP EEN MOEILIJKE TIJD GELUK NAAR HUISELAND

17 februari, NYC — Meng Fanlong uit China (16-0, 10 KO) zal IBF bestrijden & WBC licht zwaargewicht kampioen, Artur Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KO), 28 maart in het Videotron Center in Quebec City, Canada. Beterbiev vs.. Meng wordt gepresenteerd door Top Rank in samenwerking met Groupe Yvon Michel en Gestev, en zal live worden uitgezonden op ESPN, samen met een co-feature-gevecht op 10 PM ET.

Fanlong, die komt uit Chifeng, Binnen-Mongolië, China, heeft meer dan alleen zijn wereldtitel in zijn hoofd geschoten. Zijn thuisland is in wezen gesloten vanwege de recente uitbraak van het Coronavirus.

If you ever want to laugh harder than you’ve ever laughed in your life, Letterkenny is the new, hip show for you. Elevation Pictures and Universal Studios have joined forces to bring you this quick-witted comedic gem that follows the residents of a small town North of the Canadian border called Letterkenny. The residents of Letterkenny belong to one of three groups: the Hicks, the Skids, and the Hockey Players, who are constantly feuding with each other over seemingly trivial matters that often end with someone getting their ass kicked.

Wayne, the toughest guy in Letterkenny, is our unsung hero. He waits a few episodes to display his fiercest skills in season 1 since he’s recovering from a breakup with his girlfriend (fodder for a future episode). When he does go toe to toe, the opponents he faces are coming for his unofficial title, and word travels fast. Between these raucous and exciting slugfests are the escapades of the rest of the crew and Wayne as they deal with small town obstacles like dirty politics at the agricultural hall and the kind of “kissin’ and tellin'” you think you want to hear until you really don’t.

Darryl, Squirrely Dan, Katie and Stuart are the main characters in support of Wayne. Katie is a typical teenage girl getting frisky with the boys, making her brother Wayne always feel the need to tell her to put more clothes on. Squirrely Dan has a distinct “ways” of speaking to “peoples” in the show that makes for some funny moments every epsidoe. Darryl goes by “Darry” and is the most inquisitive of whole bunch, always asking the right questions and having to get things explained that the audience would like to hear explained, ook. One of the highlights of the first season is “the softest birthday party ever” that the gang attempts to put on for Darry. Stuart is the local meth addict who can’t seem to “figure it out” as far as how to straighten up and fly right.

The shenanigans and fast and furious banter of the show make it worth watching some scenes over and over again. It is a unique, “full tilt like a Peterbilt” comedy that pushes the envelope and hits the nail on the head when it comes to some stereotypical boondocks teenager behavior. The only critique it gets from me is it takes a bit of time to pick up on what all the colloquialisms really mean if you’re not from Canada. Watch enough episodes, hoewel, and you’ll be speaking like a Letterkenny native and bringing their lingo to the USA. Goed, as Wayne and the crew often say, “Pitter patter, let’s get at ‘er.” Here’s some more info from the peoples in charge on how to watch and purchase DVDs and such:

The series was picked up in the United States by Hulu for its 7th season as a Hulu Original series, with the other seasons also being available exclusively on the streaming platform. It’s a goofy Canadian hangout comedy that combines the eccentricities of “Schitt’s Creek” with wry and wacky wordplay. Oshae Jones schrijft geschiedenis op 2019 Pan American Games

LIMA, Peru (Augustus 2, 2019) — Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio) schreef geschiedenis op de eerste avond van de finale op de 2019 Pan-Amerikaanse Spelen in Lima, Peru door de allereerste gouden medaillewinnaar van de Panamerikaanse Spelen voor dames te worden. Dit was de eerste keer in de geschiedenis van Pan American Games dat de vrouwen vijf gewichtsklassen zouden hebben, vergeleken met de twee vorige spellen met drie gewichtsklassen.

Jones versloeg Myriam DaSilva uit Canada met eenparigheid van stemmen, het winnen van alle drie de rondes, 10-9, van twee rechters, en twee van de drie ronden, 10-9, van één rechter.

Dit was de tweede keer dat Jones en DaSilva het tegen elkaar opnamen, waarbij Jones haar versloeg 5-0 op de Pan American Games Qualifier eerder dit jaar.

Banner Promotions signs undefeated Lightweight Mohamed Soumaoro

PHILADELPHIA, PENN.(November 8, 2018)–Banner Promotions has signed it’s 2nd undefeated lightweight this week as the promotional company has signed Mohamed Soumaoro.

 

 

 

De 25 year-old Soumaoro is out of Montreal, Canada by way of Conakry, Guinea and Havana, Cuba.

 

 

 

He has amassed a professional record of 6-0 met drie knock-outs.

 

 

 

Growing up in Havana as a youth he enjoyed walking, playing soccer, going to school and learning. During this time he was introduced to karate and taekwondo. He did not pursue those sports because in 2008, he moved to Blainville, Quebec to live with his sister. It was while watching television that he discovered an interest in boxing.

 

 

 

After a 53-fight amateur career, he turned professional on April 8, 2017 with a 1st round stoppage over Antonio Vergara.

 

 

 

Soumaoro has continued his success as he has made two starts this year. In zijn laatste gevecht, he stopped Ramon Urbina in one round on September 15th in Managua, Nicaragua.

QUEBEC CITY, Canada (November 2, 2018) –– de charismatische Marie-Eve Dicaire (13-0-0, 0 KO) will have the chance to make her dream come true on December 1 at the Videotron Center in Quebec, when she fights for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World light middleweight title against champion Chris Namus (24-4-0, 8 KO), of Uruguay. Marie-Eve will fight in the first women’s world title bout in Quebec’s history.

 

 

 

The 31-year-old Namus, fighting out of South America, signed the contract this past Tuesday to defend her crown against Dicaire in the co-featured event on the card headlined by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and lineal light heavyweight world championship bout between Adonis Stevenson en uitdager Oleksandr gvozdyk, adding some spice to an already red-hot card.

 

 

 

Namus, nicknamed “El Bombon Asesino”, has been IBF champion since 2017, when she defeated Argentina’s Yamila Esther Reynoso voor de vacante titel. She has since defended her belt once, against her compatriot, Katia Alvarino.

MARIE-EVE DICAIRE

 

 

 

Marie-Eve Dicaire has been in the fighting sports since a very young age. Op slechts 6 jaar oud, karate captivated her. She obtained a zwarte band and won a Canadian Championship before even being 11 jaar oud.

 

 

 

Bij 18 jaar oud, Marie-Eve became karate world champion for a first time. She would win that title four other times.

 

 

 

She also gained a spot on the NASKA American circuit with the Amerikick team.

 

 

 

Een 5th degree black belt and owner of a dojo (Karaté Sunfuki), Dicaire made a switch to kickboxing and had two fights (a win and a draw) before starting boxing.

 

 

 

On the amateur boxing scene, she fought more than 50 times in less than four years.
