LOWELL, Hmota. (Leden 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (větší Lowell) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Returning New England welterweight champion Xavier Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (MA), byl 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, of Nashua, NH.
Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston led the hit parade with three winners, all in the novice class: lehká váha Jonathan Depina, welterweight Lipi Fernandes a middleweight Brian Lawrence. The Lowell West End Gym was the only other with more than one winner last night, both in the open class, lehká váha Brandon Higgins and light welterweight Jeremiah Perez.

LOWELL, Hmota. (Leden 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Xavier Vega, Lawrence (MA), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Leden. 8) in the Central New England (větší Lowell) semifinals of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) vyzývatel Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.
Vega, kdo má 33-3 amatérský záznam, didn’t start boxing until he was 17 because he has only one kidney. A construction worker by day, Vega hopes to become a professional boxer and, Pokud není uvedeno, a Lawrence police officer in order to give back to his community.
