Russell, who owns the longest reign of any current male champion and has held his 126-pound belt since 2015, will look to make his sixth consecutive successful title defense on January 22, when he takes on the Filipino power-puncher Magsayo, who is trained by Freddie Roach and comes in off of a Knockout of the Year contender over former champion Julio Ceja last August.

“I use everything going on with me outside of the ring as fuel. It’s been very difficult dealing with the passing of my brother and my dad’s health issues. “I see him as a good even-handed puncher, maybe he leans a little more to the right hand. He has good punching power, but none of that matters if you can’t hit your target.

“I learned a lot from the Ceja fight. That gave me a lesson on how to adjust in the middle of a fight. It’s going to help me against Russell.

“Nous avons eu un camp d'entraînement. J'ai mes jeunes frères sur la carte avec moi et au camp, me poussant tous les jours. Nous sommes prêts, concentré et affamé.

“Le remorqueur sera le meilleur possible car il sait qu'il fait face à l'un des meilleurs combattants du monde. Il a tout à gagner et rien à perdre. Il va tout laisser en jeu.

“Je pense que Tug est beaucoup plus solide techniquement que beaucoup de gars avec qui j'ai concouru. C'est un autre gars avec tout à gagner et rien à perdre, donc j'anticipe un combat difficile.

“Si ça m 'allait, Je ferais face à Leo Santa Cruz ou Gervonta Davis, mais c'est ce à quoi je dois faire face. Je suis ici pour défendre à nouveau mon titre avec style.

“C’est incroyable de regarder mes jeunes frères et de les avoir sur la même carte. Je suis ravi de travailler leurs coins. Il n'y a jamais eu un groupe de trois frères pour devenir champions du monde, et je pense que nous allons le faire très bientôt. Ils sont tous les deux extrêmement talentueux et affamés. Je m'attends à ce qu'ils soient meilleurs que moi au moment où ils en seront à ce stade de leur carrière.

“J'ai été le premier combattant à devenir pro sur ShoBox, et j'ai remporté mon titre sur SHOWTIME. Le fait que nous soyons toujours en train de le faire maintenant en dit long. Je travaille très bien avec leur équipe et je suis reconnaissant d’être à ce poste.

“Tu devrais t'attendre à voir ce que tu vois toujours avec moi. La boxe à son meilleur. Beaucoup de généralités en anneau. Bon QI de boxe. Vitesse de la main. Puissance de poinçonnage. Le package total en tant que combattant. En réalité, J'essaie de comprendre pourquoi je ne suis pas sur la liste livre pour livre étant donné tout cela. C’est un problème.”

**Tugstsogt Nyambayar**

“Je suis très excité pour ce combat. Ça va être un bon combat pour les fans. Gary Russell Jr. est un grand champion, mais regarde le samedi soir, quand je deviens le nouveau champion du monde poids plume.

“Je dois juste être meilleur que Gary Russell samedi soir. L'expérience passée n'a pas d'importance. S'il pense que je suis trop inexpérimenté pour ce combat, il va avoir une surprise samedi.

“Je ne m'inquiète pas de la rouille des anneaux. J'ai travaillé si dur sur le ring pendant le camp d'entraînement pour m'assurer que je suis le meilleur que j'aie jamais été.

“Travailler avec Ismael Salas a été très bon pour moi et je pense que cela m'a amené à un autre niveau dans ma carrière. Toutes les compétences, toute ma puissance et ma vitesse, tout sera avec moi samedi. Je dois juste le mettre en place pour ma meilleure performance.

“Je suis très prêt pour ce combat. Je veux être le premier champion poids plume WBC de l'histoire de la Mongolie. Je suis prêt, il vous suffit de regarder samedi.”

**Guillermo Rigondeaux**

“Le poids coq est ma division. Je n'ai aucun problème à faire ce poids. Je tiens à remercier mon équipe de m'avoir préparé et de m'avoir amené à ce poste. Il ne reste plus qu'à se battre samedi soir.

“Je tiens également à remercier Ronnie Shields pour la façon dont il m'a préparé pour ce combat. C’est un excellent camp d’entraînement et j’ai hâte de monter sur le ring et de redevenir champion.

“Je ressens 100% et je crois que le poids coq a toujours été mon meilleur poids. J'ai bien fait à 122 livres, alors je suis resté là-bas. Mon plan maintenant est de dominer cette division.

“Moi et Ronnie Shields avons une excellente chimie et avons bien travaillé ensemble. Ronnie est un excellent entraîneur et j’attends avec impatience une longue course que nous allons avoir ensemble.

“Je vais être phénoménal sur le ring. Je vais unifier 118 livres comme je l'ai fait à 122 livres. J'ai hâte de commencer.

“Ma stratégie dépendra du combat qu'apporte Solis. Je suis un vétéran de ce sport, datant des amateurs, j'ai donc l'habitude de voir autant de styles différents. Je dois me battre de la manière qui me donne les meilleures chances de gagner.”

**SOLIS LIBORY**

“Merci beaucoup à mon équipe qui m'a soutenu et m'a soutenu jusqu'à ce combat. Je suis très reconnaissant de cette opportunité. Mon adversaire a été un grand champion et je suis très excité d’être ici pour le combattre.

“Cela va évidemment être un grand combat. Je suis un guerrier qui vient toujours se battre. Il peut choisir sa stratégie comme il le souhaite. Mais je veux juste y entrer et mettre mes compétences en valeur.

J'étais déjà champion dans une division et je me suis battu sur les tableaux de bord en poids coq, ou bien je serais déjà un champion en deux divisions.

“Samedi va être différent de mes derniers combats. Guillermo et moi donnons notre cœur et notre âme et nous allons nous battre jusqu'à ce que le meilleur homme gagne. Je ne quitte pas cet anneau sans un championnat.

“Je vais tout venir samedi. Je viens me battre et je viens pour gagner. Je suis sûr que Guillermo est le même. La différence sera ma détermination à gagner ce combat.

“Je ne pense pas que le poids de quiconque ou la division contre laquelle nous nous sommes battus dans le passé seront un avantage. Je suis sûr qu'il aurait toujours pu se battre 118. La personne qui a l'avantage est celle qui en veut plus.”

**JAIME ARBOLEDA**

“Je tiens à remercier tous les grands champions de cette étape et tous les membres de mon équipe qui ont rendu ce combat possible. Cette opportunité a été longue à venir et je me prépare dur pour en tirer le meilleur parti.

“Samedi, Je suis très convaincu que ce sera un grand combat et se terminera par un KO. Je suis prêt et je sais que je vais gagner.

“C'est une excellente occasion de me rapprocher de mon rêve de devenir champion du monde. Je sais ce que je dois faire et je me suis préparé chaque jour pour m'assurer de me battre de mon mieux samedi soir.

“Nous avons beaucoup de respect les uns pour les autres et nous attendons avec impatience samedi soir. Ne manquez pas cette carte, car elle sera pleine d’action du début à la fin.”

**JAYSON VELEZ**

“Je suis heureux d’être ici encore et de revenir dans un grand combat. Ma dernière fois que je me suis battu sur SHOWTIME 2012 et je suis très reconnaissant de cette opportunité de concourir à nouveau sur cette étape.

“J'ai la chance de pouvoir faire ce que je fais tous les jours. Je me suis battu professionnellement depuis 2007. C'est le rêve de chaque boxeur. Quand je gagne samedi, Je serai l’obligatoire de la ceinture et c’est l’opportunité que je veux.

“Je me suis entraîné dur pour ce combat et je suis prêt. J'ai gagné trois combats d'affilée menant à un grand combat entre deux combattants affamés. Nous voulons nous ajouter à notre bilan et je crois que ce combat se termine par KO.

“Ne manquez pas ce combat car ça va être génial. Il va y avoir beaucoup d’action. Chaque fois que je monte sur le ring, gagner ou perdre, Je vais tout laisser là-dedans. Je me bats avec mon cœur et je me bats pour Porto Rico.”

**HOUSTON, TEXAS** – Février 4, 2020 – Ancien champion du monde **Guillermo Rigondeaux** cherchera à devenir trois fois, champion du monde en deux divisions lorsqu'il passe aux poids coq pour défier l'ancien champion **Liborio Solis** pour le titre WBA vacant en direct sur SHOWTIME ce samedi, Février 8 lors d'un événement Premier Boxing Champions du PPL Center à Allentown, Pennsylvanie.

«J'essaie de faire l'histoire en remportant un troisième titre mondial dans une deuxième catégorie de poids, tout en faisant correspondre mes deux [olympique] Médailles d'or,»Dit Rigondeaux, qui se battra au poids coq pour la première fois de sa carrière. «Je veux faire une déclaration et consolider mon héritage en tant que l'un des meilleurs combattants cubains de tous les temps. Ce sera le deuxième combat consécutif de Rigondeaux en collaboration avec le célèbre entraîneur en chef Ronnie Shields, et conduite d'un camp d'entraînement au gymnase de Shields à Houston.

«Ronnie et moi travaillons très dur et intelligemment,»Dit Rigondeaux. «Nous avons mis en place un excellent plan de match que nous allons exécuter le soir du combat. Breazeale, whose only two defeats have now come against both Wilder and Joshua, was disappointed he wasn’t allowed to continue the fight.

“I think the ref stopped it a little early because I could hear him saying seven and eight, but that’s boxing,” Saïd Breazeale. “He did his job and kept us safe for our next fight.

“I got on my feet and had my legs under me. It’s the heavyweight division so there’s going to big shots from guys with power. This was a situation where he landed the big right hand before I did. I thought I was going to come on in the later rounds. I’ll be back and go for the heavyweight title again.”

If successful on May 18, Wilder will become just the 10^e fighter in the more than 135-year history of heavyweight boxing to make nine or more consecutive successful heavyweight title defenses. Heraldez, who trains out of the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas with coach Otis Pimpleton, made his 2019 debut in February by knocking out Eddie Ramirez in round seven of their super lightweight fight. Mendez is another step up in competition for the 28-year-old.

“On paper he’s the toughest fighter I’ve faced,” Ledit Heraldez. “I only watched some of his fight against Ramirez, but being a former world champion, it means he’s doing something right. I don’t think he does anything better than me and I’m looking to show it on fight night.”

This will be Heraldez’s first fight on SHOWTIME, giving him a chance to shine on a big stage leading up to the Deontay Wilder heavyweight world title defense against Dominic Breazeale in the main event. For Heraldez, he sees this is an opportunity to display what he’s already being doing in the ring for years.

“I’m excited to be able to show off what I’ve always been able to do,” Ledit Heraldez. “It’s going to be no surprise to the people around me who know what I’m capable of. It’s another stage with more people watching, but the ring and everything else stays the same.

“A fight like this adds more motivation for my future because I want to keep changing the lives of my family. Little by little, win by win and fight by fight, I can accomplish that. That’s where my motivation comes from.”

A Las Vegas-native who is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, Heraldez believes he’s ready for a world title shot and knows that Argenis Mendez is currently in his path to getting that coveted opportunity.

“If the title fight is there after I beat Mendez, Je le prends,” Ledit Heraldez. “That’s one of the ultimate goals and something I’ve been preparing for my whole career. NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. (Mai 20, 2018) – WBC Light Heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson and former two-division world champion Badou Jack fought to a highly competitive majority draw Saturday at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. At MGM National Harbor in Maryland, and in the opening bout on SHOWTIME, Gary Russell Jr. (29-1, 17 KOs) vaincu Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (26-1, 14 KOs).

With the draw, Stevenson retains the WBC belt in what was Toronto’s most significant world title fight in more than 30 ans. It was a day that saw SHOWTIME deliver three world championship fights from three countries.

In a bout filled with momentum swings, it was Jack (21-1-4, 13 KOs) who was the busier and more accurate fighter. While Stevenson (29-1-1, 24 KOs) outpointed Jack in the early rounds, the challenger turned it on in round number seven and dominated the champion in the second half of the fight. In rounds seven through ten, Jack out landed Stevenson 114-40. Cependant, a ferocious body shot from the right hand of Stevenson in round ten altered the momentum back in his favor.

Stevenson, who has resided in Montreal since he was five-years-old, was able to gain a second wind in the 11^etour, riding the momentum of the body shot that injured Jack. With everything on the line in the night’s final round, both fighters emptied the tank and left it all in the ring. Jack rebounded tremendously and when the final bell rang, it was Stevenson who was struggling to stay on his feet.

“I went to the body and saw that he was fatigued,” Ledit Stevenson, who moves to 9-0-1 dans des combats de championnat du monde. “I had to keep the pressure on him. He’s a slick fighter, a two-time world champion but I felt I won the fight.

“I used both hands. I touched him a lot with the right hand on the body and slowed him down. He tried to come and attack me. I feel like I won the fight but I’ll give him a rematch if he wants it.”

Jack, who started the fight sluggishly, thought he did enough in the later rounds to win the fight.

“I thought I definitely won the fight,” a déclaré Jack, who drew for the fourth time in his career. “No judge had him winning. I have no idea why I can’t get a decision. It could be that they’re jealous of Floyd and don’t like him. I’m one of his top fighters. I can’t do anything about it. I’m not the judge. I have to respect their decision.

“Maybe I started the fight too slow. I gave away those rounds. He didn’t really hit me. I can’t do anything about it, let’s do a rematch in Las Vegas. I came to his backyard, it’s time he comes out to Vegas.”

In the main event from MGM National Harbor in Maryland, it was a tactical and hard fought battle of two former U.S. Olympians as Russell Jr. (29-1, 17 KOs) defeated Diaz Jr. (26-1, 14 KOs). Russell won the contest via unanimous decision, 115-113 et 117-111 deux fois, to retain his WBC featherweight world title. The 29-year-old hometown favorite used his hand speed, quickness and relentless attack to overwhelm Diaz Jr., the previously undefeated top-ranked contender.

Russell Jr.’s game plan to dictate the pace and establish the jab was clear, throwing a career-high 587 jabs throughout the 12-round battle. While the number of punches landed were close (199-192 in favor of Russell Jr.), Russell Jr.’s output trumped Diaz Jr.’s accuracy as the champion’s career-high 992 punches thrown were the most ever for him in a CompuBox tracked fight. Diaz Jr. was committed to attacking the body of Russell Jr., but he was unable to break the champion down, who injured his right hand in the third round.

“We train to survive those body shots,” a déclaré Russell Jr. “We put the work in every day in the ring. We consistently grind and push ourselves to be great and we push ourselves to the limit.

“I was disappointed in my performance because I wasn’t planning on going the distance. I hurt the right hand, but I still had to use it, because he could not get past my jab.”

Diaz Jr. showed heart and youthful enthusiasm, closing the fight with a strong final round but ultimately, he lacked the creative, diversified attack needed to truly trouble Russell Jr.

“The game plan was to break him down with the body shots and start attacking him more in the later rounds,” said the South El Monte, Californie. indigène. “But I started attacking him too late and didn’t pick it up until the 8th or 9th round. Gary Russell Jr. is a tremendous fighter and he did a great job keeping me at bay.”

“This will just make me a hungrier fighter. I hope I got the respect of a lot of fight fans. I wanted to become champion against the best featherweight fighter in the world. Tonight wasn’t my night but I’m going to bounce back harder and I’ll be champion soon.”
