“I understand what Fury did,” Saïd Wilder. “When you get dropped on the canvas like that I understand you have to get yourself back together. But the rematch will happen, like all these other fights will happen. The great thing is all these fights rare in discussion. The big fights will happen. I just want you to have patience.”

Breazeale, whose only two defeats have now come against both Wilder and Joshua, was disappointed he wasn’t allowed to continue the fight.

“I think the ref stopped it a little early because I could hear him saying seven and eight, but that’s boxing,” Saïd Breazeale. “He did his job and kept us safe for our next fight.

“I got on my feet and had my legs under me. It’s the heavyweight division so there’s going to big shots from guys with power. This was a situation where he landed the big right hand before I did. I thought I was going to come on in the later rounds. I’ll be back and go for the heavyweight title again.”

“I’m going to rest a little bit now, but I’ll be back. I thought I had some good moments and had a good division. I think I’ll drop back down to 122-pounds to win a world title there.”

Heraldez outlanded Mendez 126-108 in total punches and 70-30 in jabs throughout the 10 tours. Falling behind early, Mendez, a seasoned veteran and 2004 Dominican Republic Olympian, used his experience to grow back into the fight. The tempo picked up in the fifth round, as both fighters landed several heavy blows but the momentum shifted towards Mendez. The 32-year-old Mendez, who has fought seven current or former champions, closed out the fight exceptionally strong, winning the final round on all three judges’ tableaux de bord. Without doing so, Mendez would have lost the fight.

Preceding the telecast, SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING COUNTDOWN featured three undercard attractions streamed live on the SHOWTIME Sports social platforms. A battle between heavyweights Robert Alfonso (18-0-1, 8 KOs) et Iago Kiladze (26-4-1, 18 KOs) ended in a split-draw after eight rounds of action. While one judge scored the fight 77-75 for Alfonso, another had it 77-75 pour Kiladze, avec le troisième juge le marquant 76-76, resulting in the draw.

“These fighters always get into great shape and think they have the game plan to beat me. They think they’re going to catch me. It’s not going to work. Nothing this guy has prepared for is going to work.

“I hope he brings the best he can bring. This is more than just a boxing match. I’m passionate about what I do. This has been a long time coming for me and Dominic. He asked for this, and he shall receive.

“It’s going to be an amazing night for me, and a sad night for him. Being heavyweight champion is a big responsibility. Not everyone is made to be a champion. It’s more than being glamorous or carrying around this prestigious belt.

“I’ve trained harder than I’ve ever trained. He’s got me inspired like I was against Bermane Stiverne. I want to hurt Breazeale so bad. I’m going to keep my composure until that time comes Saturday night.

“I don’t believe Breazeale when he speaks. I’ve been in this game for a very long time. Someone like him is not going to beat me. The closest he’s going to get to this belt is in his dreams.

“My whole team has been with me since day one. We started together and we’re going to go all the way together. It’s been an amazing run for me. I started my career at the very bottom and worked all the way to this point.

“We never rushed anything. Even in the Olympics, I was still learning on the job. We trained to be a long term champion, not a short term champion, and we accomplished that. I’m appreciative for how far I’ve come and for everything that’s come with it. Hard work pays off.

“Deontay and I were on the same Olympic team, plus Dominic and my little brother Gary Antuanne Russell were also U.S. Olympiens. It makes for an amazing card on Saturday night.”

“I come to fight and get that title. I had a very smooth training camp and feel 100 percent physically.

“I think my experience is superior. He thinks I’m only a pressure fighter, but he hasn’t seen me box the way I’m going to box him on Saturday.

In an event taking place live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center, la maison de BROOKLYN BOXE ™, Wilder will attempt to defend his WBC title for the ninth time since first capturing the belt in January 2015. Wilder’s triumph marked the return of heavyweight prizefighting in America and the end of an eight-year drought without an American heavyweight world champion, the longest in the history of the sport.

If successful on May 18, Wilder will become just the 10e fighter in the more than 135-year history of heavyweight boxing to make nine or more consecutive successful heavyweight title defenses. LAS VEGAS (Mai 2, 2019) – Candidat super léger invaincu Juan Heraldez is looking to make a statement when he takes on former world champion Argenis Mendezin a 10-round showdown Saturday, Mai 18 en direct sur Showtime de Barclays Centre, la maison de BROOKLYN BOXE ™, et présenté par Premier Champions de boxe.

“I have to outclass him and make him not even want to fight anymore,” Ledit Heraldez. “I’m going to make him retire. My goal on fight night is to win and show out for my Mexican fans in New York.”

Heraldez, who trains out of the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas with coach Otis Pimpleton, made his 2019 debut in February by knocking out Eddie Ramirez in round seven of their super lightweight fight. Mendez is another step up in competition for the 28-year-old.

“On paper he’s the toughest fighter I’ve faced,” Ledit Heraldez. “I only watched some of his fight against Ramirez, but being a former world champion, it means he’s doing something right. I don’t think he does anything better than me and I’m looking to show it on fight night.”

This will be Heraldez’s first fight on SHOWTIME, giving him a chance to shine on a big stage leading up to the Deontay Wilder heavyweight world title defense against Dominic Breazeale in the main event. For Heraldez, he sees this is an opportunity to display what he’s already being doing in the ring for years.

“I’m excited to be able to show off what I’ve always been able to do,” Ledit Heraldez. “It’s going to be no surprise to the people around me who know what I’m capable of. It’s another stage with more people watching, but the ring and everything else stays the same.

“A fight like this adds more motivation for my future because I want to keep changing the lives of my family. Little by little, win by win and fight by fight, I can accomplish that. That’s where my motivation comes from.”

A Las Vegas-native who is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, Heraldez believes he’s ready for a world title shot and knows that Argenis Mendez is currently in his path to getting that coveted opportunity.

“If the title fight is there after I beat Mendez, Je le prends,” Ledit Heraldez. “That’s one of the ultimate goals and something I’ve been preparing for my whole career. The 30-year-old Russell (29-1, 17 KOs), who was born in Washington, D.C. and now lives in Capitol Heights, Maryland, will make the fourth defense of his featherweight world title on May 18 and his second career appearance at Barclays Center. Russell won his title by knocking out Jhonny Gonzalez in 2015. After stopping Patrick Hyland and Oscar Escandon, he most recently defeated previously unbeaten Joseph Diaz Jr. last May. The undefeated Heraldez(16-0, 10 KOs) continued to rise up the rankings in 2019 when he knocked out Eddie Ramirez in their February showdown. The 28-year-old from Las Vegas earned a decision victory over Kevin Watts and a stoppage of Maynard Allison in 2018. That followed up a unanimous decision victory over then unbeaten prospect Jose Miguel Borrego in his first 10-round bout in August 2017 sur le Mayweather vs. Sous-carte McGregor.

Originally from San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic and now living in Brooklyn, N. Y., Mendez won the IBF super featherweight title with a knockout victory over Juan Carlos Salgado in 2013.

On his matchup against Ishe Smith:

“Ishe Smith has been in the ring with the best of them and he’s never been stopped. He knows how to fight and I’m expecting him to be at this best. I will have to dictate the pace right from the opening bell. My goal is to be the first person to take him out, but if it goes the distance, I’m okay with that as well. I’m going to win this fight and win it impressively.”

On training with new coach Kevin Cunningham:

“Kevin is a no-nonsense type of guy. He’s going to tell you the truth if you like it or not. If I’m doing something wrong in his eyes, he’s going to speak on it right away. He’ll do the same if I’m doing something right, so I like his style of training and I’m learning more each day we are together. This will be our first fight together and I’m excited to get back in the ring. We have a nice game plan in place that we will execute on fight night.”

On training in Las Vegas for the first time in his career:

“Training in Las Vegas is no joke, because we are training in higher elevation than what I’m used to in Florida. Getting away from the distractions at home has been relaxing. I’ve been getting great sparring and my timing is right on point. Las Vegas is definitely the place to be for high level sparring and training.”

On fighting in Southern California for the second time in his career:

“I really like fighting on the west coast. The fans are great, and the weather is beautiful. I know we’ll be fighting outdoors so I’m looking forward to that. Everyone knows this venue has hosted some really good fights. I’m looking to steal the show on Saturday night.”

LAS VEGAS (Août 4, 2018) – léger contender Ladarius Miller (17-1, 5 KOs) a remporté une décision unanime compétitive sur Dennis Galarza (16-4, 9 KOs) dans l'événement principal de Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce vendredi soir de Sam’s Town à Las Vegas.

 

 

 

Les joueurs de 25 ans ont passé les premiers tours à se sentir dehors avant que l'action ne s'intensifie alors que Miller commençait à trouver de l'espace à l'intérieur avec sa vitesse.. L'attaque de la patte gauche de Miller l'a vu chercher à piquer à l'intérieur avant de se précipiter vers la droite pour délivrer la main gauche.

 

 

 

“J'ai combattu un adversaire coriace mais j'avais l'impression d'être entré là-dedans et de faire ce que j'étais censé faire,” dit Miller. “Je pensais que je contrôlais le combat comme je le voulais, mais ce n’était pas ma meilleure performance. Je sais que je peux revenir encore mieux.

 

 

 

“La taille de Galarza était vraiment difficile à gérer et je devais vraiment travailler pour entrer à l'intérieur. Il a essayé d'utiliser sa gamme et j'ai dû faire des ajustements. J'ai essayé de le déséquilibrer et de lutter contre mon combat.”

 

 

 

Le rythme de travail de Galarza a commencé à augmenter avec l'agressivité accrue de Miller alors qu'il réussissait avec son jab et contrant une partie du mouvement que Miller a flashé. Dans un combat qui est apparu tout au long, Vitesse de Miller et mains droites droites efficaces, combiné avec des crochets de contre-droite, lui a donné la décision aux yeux des juges par des dizaines de 96-94, 97-93 et 99-91.

 

 

 

“Je suis prêt à continuer à me tester et à avancer,” dit Miller. “Je suis prêt pour toute opportunité qui se présente contre les meilleurs de la division.”

Bogere a montré un arsenal impressionnant, piquer Bravo tôt avec un crochet gauche et des coups de poing combinés qui ont laissé son adversaire saigner de son œil gauche dès les premiers tours. Même avec l'assaut de 10 rounds de Bravo, Bogere a pu constamment contrer et blesser Bravo, ne jamais permettre au combattant chilien de le mettre en danger réel. Les juges ont tous vu le combat pour Bogere avec des dizaines de 99-91 et 100-90 deux fois.

 

 

 

 

Dans le combat d'ouverture de la télédiffusion, invaincu Juan Heraldez (14-0, 8 KOs) a effectué un renversement au premier tour et une combinaison impressionnante de coups de poing sur le chemin d'une victoire par décision unanime sur Kevin Watts (11-3, 4 KOs) dans leur match super léger de 10 rounds.

 

 

 

Heraldez a livré un uppercut gauche de compteur tonitruant qui a envoyé Watts sur la toile dans le cadre d'ouverture du combat. Watts a pu survivre à la ronde mais cela a donné le ton pour ce qui allait arriver, comme Heraldez a toujours reçu des coups de poing plus propres et plus puissants.

 

 

 

Watts a tenté de revenir dans le combat en menant avec un crochet gauche puissant, mais Heraldez a réussi à le tenir à distance et à livrer sa propre attaque pour remporter la victoire par des dizaines de 100-89 et 98-91 deux fois.

The 24-year-old Miller has been on a tear since a loss in February 2016, showing off increased power plus the speed that defined him since turning pro in 2014. Miller has won seven fights in a row, including a victory over Jamel Herring and previously unbeaten Maynard Allison. Born in Memphis but living and training out of Las Vegas as a pro, Miller has already scored two stoppage victories this year in his adopted hometown.

 

 

 

“I feel great right now and happy to get back in the ring,” dit Miller. “I have a great team behind me and they’re giving me motivation to fight and train even harder than ever. Galarza is another step up for me and someone who I’m very aware of. I have to be patient in this next fight. If I see an opportunity for a knockout then I’ll go for it, but it’s not the plan. I have the skillset. All I can do is go out there, download his plan, and react. My goal is always to give the fans an exciting show while I’m out there.”

The 29-year-old Barrionuevo fights out of Salta, Argentina and has been the Argentine welterweight champion since 2015. He enters this fight the winner of his last 10 concours, including a first round destruction of Adrian Luciano Veron in January. Barrionuevo will be making his U.S. debut when he enters the ring in Las Vegas onAugust 3.

 

 

 

Fighting out of Casa Grande, Arizona, Ramos made his welterweight debut by stopping Emmanuel Robles last July before challenging once-beaten Jamal James in April and losing by a narrow majority decision. The 27-year-old has bounced back with two stoppage victories in 2018 and has draws against world champion Maurice Hooker and contender Levan Ghvamichava on his resume.

 

 

 

Heraldez is unbeaten since turning pro in 2009 and picked up the biggest victory of his career thus far when he triumphed over previously undefeated Jose Miguel Borrego last August on the Mayweather vs. Sous-carte McGregor. Combats de Las Vegas, the 27-year-old will make his 2018 debut August 3 looking to further his contender credentials.

 

 

 

The Los Angeles-native Watts put his career back on the right path with a knockout victory over then once-beaten Ryan Karl in April and hopes to build on that with another notable victory August 3. The 26-year-old won his first 11 pro fights before suffering defeats to then unbeaten fighters Eddie Ramirez and Jose Miguel Borrego.
