Yunusov stops Salinas in seven to remain undefeated

Bethlehem, PA (November 18, 2018) —This past Friday night, Three-time Olympian Anvar Yunusov remained perfect by stopping Jose Salinas in the 7th round of their scheduled eight-round junior lightweight bout the headlined a nine-bout card at

Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

 

 

 

The show was promoted by King’s Promotions.

 

 

 

Yunusov, som tävlade i 2008, 2012 och 2016 Olympics for his native country Tajikistan, dominated the action, and finally broke Salinas down in the 7th frame.

I co-funktionen, debuting Jeffrey Torres thrilled his hometown fans with a four-round unanimous decision over Steven Lopez in a bantamweight contest.

 

 

 

Torres of Bethlehem is 1-0. Lopez of Philadelphia is 0-3.

 

 

 

Big heavyweight, Michael Coffie remained undefeated by stopping veteran Jamaal Woods.

 

 

 

Despite his record, Woods was game, but the 277 pound Coffie was too much and finally got his foe out of there at 2:50 in the 4th frame.

 

Coffie of Brooklyn is 6-0 med fem knockouts. Woods of Forest City, Arkansas is 18-44-7.

 

Joseph George took a six-round unanimous decision from Josue Obando in a light heavyweight bout.

 

 

 

George of Houston is now 8-0. Obando of Mexico gave a good effort, but is now 16-25-1.

 

Christian Montano behövde bara 2:05 of the 1st round to take out Paul Holley in their scheduled six-round cruiserweight bout.

Good looking bantamweight prospect Yeuri Andujar made it two straight stoppage victories with a 1st round stoppage over debuting Haziz Self of Philadelphia.

 

 

 

Andujar of Reading, PA is 2-0 with both wins coming early.

 

 

 

In a fight heavyweight contest featuring previously undefeated light heavyweight, Travis Toledo took an entertaining four-round majority decision over Kendall Cannida.

 

 

 

Both guys had their moments in the spirited brawl, but it was Toledo who came away with the victory to raise his mark to 3-0. Cannida of Philadelphia drops to 2-1.

 

Vincent Floyd used two 1st round knockdowns to catapult himself to a four-round unanimous decision over Ricky Nuno in a welterweight clash.

 

 

 

Nuno made a great effort after the 1st round, but he dug himself too far of a hole to catch Floyd.

 

 

 

Floyd of Philadelphia is 4-5-1. Nuno of Bethlehem is 2-2.

Januari 22, 2018 – Victory and Now Boxing Promotions’ prospects are staying busy in the new year. The promotions’ top prospect, Jaron “Boots” Ennis (17-0, 15KO) is back in action this Fredag, January 26th in his hometown of Philadelphia. Den 20 year old boxer, widely considered the best prospect in Philadelphia, will appear on the Real Deal Boxing card at Sugarhouse Casino. Brian Norman Jr., son of super middleweight Brian Norman (17-11, 5KO) av Atlanta, won in his professional debut in Houston på lördag, och Christian Montano advanced to 4-0 (4KO) on the same card. All three fighters are managed by Cameron Dunkin och främjas av Chris Middendorf of Victory Boxing Promotions, och Joseph Dunkin of Now Boxing Promotions.

Ennis, who trains with his father, former fighter Derrick “Bozy” Ennis in Philadelphia, last fought in December at the 2300 Arena, where he knocked out George Sosa inside of two rounds. The young pugilist is moving quickly, and fought nine times in 2017. Ennis is three months shy of his 21st birthday. Dunkin and Middendorf may not get him to 21 wins by his 21st birthday, but both feel certain that 2018 will be the real ‘coming out’ year for the young talent.

“We always like to have Boots fight at home,” said Victory Boxing Promotions founder and Promoter Christopher Middendorf. “He’s getting great experience with veterans like Garibay. This is the first champion-caliber fighter he’s faced, and we’ll get to see how he handles that. I’m hoping the Philly boxing fans get out to support him.”

Ödmjuka, Texas (Juli 7, 2017) – Highly decorated amateur, Christian Montano (1-0, 1 KO) has signed with NOW Promotions

Montano of The Woodlands, Texas was a three-time national champion, and had a 43-2 amatör rekord, Den 18 year-old Montano is managed by James Cooper and NFL All-Pro offensive Tackle, Trent Williams of the Washington Redskins.
“Everything is good. I get great sparring, and I have been focusing on my footwork as well as the little things,” said Montano.
Montano, who is set to finish High School, was juggling school and training as he turned professional.
“It was hard to do that. I missed some school, but finishing is important to me. I have been taken a couple Summer classes, and I will have my diploma in the next month.”
“I would love to fight twice a month and get to 10-0 by the end of the year. That way I can also be active and in front of crowds to build my fan base.”
Being with a management team that includes Williams, a five-time pro bowl selection, has been a positive influence on the 18 åriga.
“Trent sees me as being on a path to success that he has achieved. He guides me, and we have a great friendship. He has shown me how to be a professional and we have talks about hard work and getting to the top of our profession.”
Montano’s describes his style as diverse, and the eighteen year-old is looking to take care of business in the light heavyweight division, and he feels that he will grow into boxing’s glamour division.
“I am a boxer-puncher that has an aggressive and vicious streak that throws every punch with bad intentions. I am looking to be a major player at light heavyweight and I feel I will grow into a heavyweight. I want to change boxing, and bring excitement and entertainment back to the sport, and have people remember as the Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson of my time.”
Said NOW Promotions Joseph Dunkin, “Christian is a terrific talent, and I am thrilled to have him in the fold. He combines his ability with charisma, and he could be a big star in the sport for years to come. We will keep him busy, and develop him into a big-time fighter.”
