Melson Nominated for Most Inspirational of 2015!

New York, NY (Dezember 29, 2015) – Junior middleweight boxer and philanthropist Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson has been nominated for Most Inspirational by Ring Magazine.

Having dedicated most of his life during the last 13 years to help cure Chronic Spinal Cord Injuries, Melson’s selfless efforts have been chronicled by various media outlets. The visibility of the cause he fights for and organization he donates 100% of his fight purses to, Team-Kampf zu Fuß, has grown tremendously during the last few years.

TALKS WBA WORLD TITLE FIGHT WITH UCHIYAMA
LEON, NICARAGUA (Dezember 28, 2015) – With just a few days away from his first world title opportunity, WBA #6 rated super-featherweight contender, Oliver Flores(27-1-2, 17 PREISE) talks about his upcoming fight with WBA world champion Takashi Uchiyama (23-0-1, 19 KOs). Uchiyama vs. Flores is set to take place on New Year’s Eve, Dezember 31, 2015 at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

Auf Dezember 31, 2015 you fight WBA super-featherweight world champion Takashi Uchiyama for his title. This will be your first would title opportunity. How do you feel going into this fight?
Oliver Flores: I’m very excited for the opportunity to be fighting for a world title. I’m very grateful to my promoter Havoc Boxing, who came through and put this fight together for me. I’ve worked my whole life to get in this position. Ich bin 100 prepared to give Uchiyama the fight of his life. My body is healthy and I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m going to seize the opportunity to the best of my ability.
What kind of fight are you expecting from the champion?

How is the relationship with you and your father, who also serves as your trainer?
Oliver Flores: My father Roger Flores is a former pro boxer who has been guiding my corner since I turned professional. He knows my strengths and weaknesses and is very good at finding flaws in my opponents. He’s been with me from day one and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
How special would it be for you if you were to bring the World Championship home to you countrymen of Nicaragua?
Oliver Flores: To bring the title home would be a dream come true for me. I have a lot of support from family and friends that will be looking forward to the outcome. I know I’m the underdog going into this fight but I have a country that will be showing support when I go to battle in Japan. My goal is to follow in the footsteps of Alexis Arguello and Roman Gonzalez, who brought great pride to Nicaragua?
Can you talk about training camp?
Oliver Flores: Training camp has been very demanding. I’m on a strict diet that has me at my optimum best. I’ve had some great sparring here in Nicaragua where I’m working out with a few different guys. Everyone is pushing me to the limit. It’s this type of training camp that’s going to get ready for Uchiyama, who I know is going to be at his best. I’m executing every possible situation that I feel will come up in this fight. So it makes all the sense in the world to match them against each other. On Jan. 22, we’re going to find out just how hot Rob Brant is.’’

Twenty-six-year-old Brant will be headlining his second consecutiveShoBox. In his first, he captured a hard-fought 10-round majority decision over Rose. Gehen 10 Runden erstmals, Brant triumphed in an entertaining tight fight.

Dela Torre, considered one of the top young talents in the Philippines, will be fighting outside of Asia for the first time. A big puncher and winner of seven straight by knockout, die 5-Fuß-8, 21-year-old is coming off athird-round TKO over Ricard Betos letzte November. 14.

“It’s every boxer’s dream to fight on big cards in United States. This is the next step in my pathway to becoming world champion,’’ Dela Torre said. “I can’t wait. Before turning professional at 17, Dela Torre was a top member on the Philippine National Amateur Boxing Team. As a pro, he has made a “name” for himself after an impressive victory over Jason Butar-Butar on the undercard of a Manny Pacquiao-headlined fight in November 2013.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Dezember 24, 2015) – Yesterday hot undefeated super-featherweight prospect, Mario Barrios (14-0, 8 KOs), joined the Christmas spirit by donating gifts to the local boys and girls club in San Antonio. Stadtviertel, along with cornerman Rick Nunez, delivered shoes and toys to the kids, brining smiles to everyone involved.
“It was great to see the smiles on all the kids when Rick and I dropped off the gifts,” Said Mario Barrios. “I know there are a lot of kids out there that don’t get to receive many gifts during Christmas so it was nice to provide something extra for these children. It was fun and everyone was happy.”
“Mario Barrios has a big heart and he’s a great role model to everyone out here in San Antonio.” said Rick Nunez. “When he asked me to join him I didn’t hesitate. Together we were able to put a lot of smiles on those kids. It was very rewarding and Mario and I are very happy to be part of something special during Christmas.”

A tall welterweight at 6′ 2″, James is undefeated as a pro with victories over Wayne Martell, Angel Hernandez and Mohammed Kayongo to his name. The 27-year-old out of Minneapolis has had a big 2015 that began with victories over Michael Balasi and Daniel Sostre and culminated with a hard fought decision over Juan Carlos Abreu in September. He will look to keep that momentum going when he fights in California for the first time as a pro on Januar 19.
A 2008 U.S.. Olympier, the 25-year-old has an opportunity to make an impact in the welterweight division when he goes up against his stiffest test to date. He comes from a fighting family that includes his twin brother Oscar, ein 2012 Mexikanische olympischen, and older brother Carlos. BROOKLYN (Dezember. 22, 2015) – Four heavyweights will meet in two world title fights for one history-making night in Brooklyn.

Undefeated heavyweight challengers Charles Martin und Vyacheslav Glazkov will battle for the vacant IBF World Championship on Samstag, Jan. 16, bei Barclays Center, weiterleben SHOW TIME®. Glazkov vs. Martin joins the previously announced main event featuring undefeated WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KOs), von Tuscaloosa, Ala., making the third defense of his title against confident Arthur Pin (20-1, 15 KOs), von Wieliczka, Polen.

Travis Kauffman honored by Hometown of Reading, PA

Lesen, PA. (Dezember 21, 2015) – Schwergewichts-Kämpfer, Travis “My Time” Kauffman was honored in his hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania by the City Council for his excellent performance on December 12th against Chris Arreola in San Antonio, Texas.
In the proclamation, Kauffman was honored for not only his fight with Arreola, where he battled the former two-time world title challenger to a fight in which most people watching the fight both at ringside and watching on NBC had Kauffman ahead, but also for his activities in the community, which includes feeding the homeless and giving back in many facets in Reading.

“I worked hard for years just to get recognized by the city I love,” sagte Kauffman. “I made many mistakes in my life, but I turned my life around and have done everything to give back to my community and the people of Reading, Pa. I’m honored today to finally be recognized in my city after all the hard work and the dedication. Thank you to the mayor, the City Council, and the people of Reading, Pa for this award. I’m at a loss for words, but my journey has just begun. I love my city and will rep it until the death of me.”

Kauffman, 30-2 mit 22 Knockouts, is already back in the gym and is looking forward to his next bout which should come in the beginning of 2016.
