“A lot of people have been asking me when I was going to fight top competition. When you look good in the ring, nobody wants to fight you. Established guys don’t want to fight you, so I want to thank Chris Algieri for taking this fight.
“It would be a major statement if I could stop Chris Algieri. He’s been in there with hard-punchers so I’m looking to make a statement about my power. Especially for me being a young contender, it would just show everything I have in my arsenal and where I’m going in my career.
“I’ve never envisioned it this way, but my team always told me to be patient and everything will come on time. Now I’m here in the NBC main event.
“This is a very important fight. Chris Algieri is a tough fighter. All of his fights have been exciting and we’re looking to make it exciting and one-sided. I’m looking to dominate the whole fight.
“From watching Algieri, I know he has good footwork and likes to box. Recently it seems like he’s become more aggressive and standing his ground a bit more. I’m ready for either style.
“I don’t really care if I get tested. I want to perform and show my skill set. I’m going to answers a lot of questions people have in the ring.
“I know I’ll be the next big star in boxing. I just have to stay grounded, do what I’ve been doing and listen to my team. le ciel est la limite.

“I’m looking forward to working extremely hard and being as prepared as possible. I’ve never picked who I step in the ring with. My job is to prepare, fight and win. Sur Avril 16 that is exactly what I’m going to do.
“I’m honored to be on a card of this magnitude. I’m looking forward to seeing everybody come out for a great night of fights.
“Every fight going forward is about winning and moving towards a welterweight title. Every fight is one step closer to getting my opportunity. This win over Errol Spence Jr. will propel me into fights with the biggest names.
“I have to beat everybody who is in front of me. That’s what this fight is. Spence is just another guy in the welterweight division. I’ve always said I’m willing to fight the top guys in my weight class and whether he’s the top guy now or will be one day, ce n'est pas important.

“I’ve had some of my best performances at Barclays Center and it’s an honor to be back. I feel that arena brings the best out of me.”
Steve Cunningham
“I won both of my world titles overseas. Guys like Glowacki grew up watching me fight in their home countries. He’s frothing at the mouth to get at me. Sometimes the meal that you want isn’t a good one for you. I’m going to upset his stomach really good.

“A fight is a fight. Age doesn’t matter to me. Only thing that really means something is the opponent. When you get in there with your plan, the opponent matters less as you break him down.
“When I first started, my motivation was to make money for my family. My motivation is always changing though. I believe I was born to do this. I love working out and pushing my mind and body to the brink. Surtout, I just love challenges.
“I’m is a cruiserweight. My camps are always like seven or eight weeks, but I’m always in the gym. My team is great at making sure I’m ready and peaking at fight week.
“I’m training in Philadelphia and living in Pittsburgh. There’s great work in Philadelphia and that’s why we’re staying there this time. It’s the perfect place to train for this fight.”
MARCUS BROWNE
“There’s never been a champion from Staten Island and that is the goal. I want to become the first from Staten Island.
“I’m always happy to be back at Barclays Center. I’m on a great card and I’m ready to breakout and move beyond the prospect label. I’m ready to display my talents against an undefeated guy.
“Comme Avril 16 I’m going to do what I do best. I really want my hands to do the talking on fight night.
“I’m motivated because I came from nothing. I’m hungry to be a world champion, but not just a world champion. I want to be a legend.
“We’re mostly training in Staten Island but we’ll go to California to train at The Rock Gym in Carson, Californie. We’re going to get some really good work out there.

New York, New York (Mars 9, 2016) – WBC USNBC 154 pound titlist Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson will take off the gloves and pick up a ping pong paddle when he meets New York State welterweight champion Chris Galaeno at SPiN New YorkVendredi, Mars 11.

 

The SPiN charity event starts at 9 PM et $10 general admission tickets can be purchased at the door. All attendees who donate $50 or more will be invited to go in ring with Melson and throw punches at him for a round. New York basketball great Kenny Anderson will be working Melson’s corner during these rounds while Melson offers himself as a target for those donating at least $50. SPiN is located at 48 Et 23e st in New York City and can hold up to 700 personnes.

 

All admission fees and proceeds from a special silent auction hosted by Cardboard Memories will be split between Team Fight to Walk and B.O.X.E.R. Inc.

 

Attendees will enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind evening of entertainment emceed by Vice Sports’ Eric Kelly and a silent sports memorabilia auction highlighted by a 30 pound bronze statue that includes engravings of many world champions including Floyd Mayweather. Those on hand are also invited to an exclusive after party hosted by DJ KP.

 

Special guests for the SPiN event include New York City basketball legend and former NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson, actresses Rosie Perez & Susan Sarandon former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri, NABO and NABF heavyweight champion Jarrell “Big Baby” Meunier, WBA world middleweight champion Danny Jacobs, middleweightcontender Willie Monroe and Team Fight to Walk members Frank Galarza and Will Rosinsky amongst others. Legendary competitive eater and six-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating champion Kobayashi will also be on hand to enjoy the action. All guests will be available for photo ops and autographs throughout the evening.

 

A competitor at heart, Melson’s posted a series of recent videos training on the ping pong table with 14-Time Swedish National Champion Malin Pettersson accompanied with friendly trash talking towards Galaeno.

 

“Chris may be undefeated in the ring but he’s taking an L on the table,” Melson said with a smile. “On a serious note, I’d like to thank SPiN NYC and all the celebrities that are attending this event in support of Team Fight to Walk and B.O.X.E.R Inc, which is another great organization I recently became a board member of. Events like these can literally help change lives, whether it be to cure Chronic Spinal Cord Injuries or keep at-risk youths off the street. Claggett (23-3-1, 16 KOs), 26, is the reigning Canadian Professional Boxing Council and Canadian welterweight titles. As an amateur in Calgary, he captured four Alberta Championships and three Golden Gloves titles, all prior to his 18e anniversaire.
At the famous Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles, Claggett gained invaluable experience working with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach. He also benefitted from working out at Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas, where he learned from trainer Roger Mayweather, and sparred there with two-division world champion Jesse Vargas. During his 7 ½ year career, Claggett has also sparred with great fighters such as Judah and Alfonso Gomez, aussi bien que Urbano Antillon during training camp in preparation for his world title fight against Humberto Soto.
An outstanding U.S. boxeur amateur, Bryan (17-6, 7 KOs), of Patterson, New Jersey, has been a gatekeeper of the welterweight division the past few years. SHAWN PORTER TO HOLD LIVE-STREAMED 12-ROUND EXHIBITION

Former welterweight world champion meets Lanardo Tyner

LAS VEGAS (Mars 7, 2016) – “Afficher L'Heure” Shawn Porter will hold a special 12-round exhibition match on Saturday, Mars 12 that will stream live on the Premier Champions de boxe (PBC) Facebook page (www.facebook.com/premierboxingchampions.com) in lieu of his cancelled welterweight title showdown against Keith Thurman.
In an effort to stay active and give his fans an opportunity to see him in live action, Porter will hold an old-fashioned exhibition against Lanardo Tyner (30-10-2, 19 KOs) at his gym – Porter Hy-Performance Center at 7 p.m. PT Samedi. Après le combat, Porter will host a 30-minute Facebook Live video Q&A to interact directly with fans about what’s next for him that will also be on the PBC Facebook page.
Porter was as disappointed as most boxing fans when Thurman was injured in an automobile accident and had to pull out of their highly anticipated welterweight championship showdown. It’s no coincidence that Porter is holding this fight on the same night that he was supposed to battle Thurman.
“When I found out about Mars 12 not happening because of what happened to Keith, I tried to move forward to fight someone else,” M. Porter. “But given the level of that fight with Keith, there wasn’t anything for me really. So my dad and I decided to do this exhibition. I’m not getting paid. This is 100 percent for anybody out there who loves to see me compete and perform. Lanardo Tyner is a veteran who has fought almost everybody and he’ll provide good excitement. We won’t be going through the motions. This is real.”
“We’re doing the exhibition because Shawn was so focused on fighting Keith Thurman that we wanted to keep him focused until we can determine when they’ll be boxing again,” said Ken Porter, Shawn’s father and trainer. “We were getting off a plane in Big Bear for training camp when we heard that Keith had been injured and couldn’t fight on Mars 12. We continued to spar and train. We figured the only way we could keep that focus was to have someone push Shawn for 12 rounds or however long it last.
In addition to Porter’s exhibition, amateur middleweight Brandyn Lynch, nephew of legendary comedian Eddie Murphy, will face fellow amateur Joey Alday dans un combat de quatre rondes.
In his last match Porter scored a 12-round unanimous decision against Adrien Broner in Las Vegas last June. The match against Thurman is one of the most highly anticipated of 2016 and will be rescheduled soon.
For his exhibition showdown with Tyner the fighters will wear headgear and use 16-ounce gloves. The fighters will weigh-in the day before the match, but there will be no involvement from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. “Mock” judges and a professional referee will be used to score the fight and complete the atmosphere of a fight night.
“We decided to do this because we needed the things associated with a big fight – the atmosphere, la foule, les lumières,” said Ken Porter. “We’re going to have everything a big fight will have – a weigh-in the Vendrediavant, the referee, the ring card girls. We are both undefeated and this is the kind of a fight that separates the good fighters from the great ones.’’

 

Golub, a six-foot, 27 year-old southpaw, turned pro in November 2012. At the outset of his career, Il est allé 5-0 in the WSOB. SAN ANTONIO, TX (Mars 7, 2016) – Super-plume Invaincu sensation, Mario Barrios (14-0, 8 KOs), fait son 2016 debut on March 15, au Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino in Nice, COMME. Knockout Over Robinson Castellanos Makes Escandon the Second Sampson Boxing World Champion in Two Weeks
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing wishes to congratulate his fighter, Oscar Escandon, for his title-winning victory Samedi night in at the DC Armory in Washington, DC.
Escandon (25-2, 17 KOs), à partir de , stepped up a weight class and picked up the interim WBC World Featherweight Championship with a KO 7 over Mexico’s Robinson Castellanos. A powerful uppercut from Escandon ended matters at the 2:59 marque.

The undefeated Philadelphia native put on a clinic, breaking down his opponent from the opening bell until referee Gary Rosato stepped in to protect a defenseless Matano (16-2, 5 KOs) à 2:24 of the seventh. After Harrison dropped Guerrero with the left, the Dominican Republic native beat the count but had no legs and went back to the canvas after four more consecutive shots from Harrison, forcing referee Gary Rosato to stop the bout at 1:56 de la sixième.

From a single parent household in West Philadelphia, life has always been tough for Julian Williams. At a young age, he was constantly getting into fights with his brothers and at school, until he set foot in the gym at age 12 and unveiled his love for boxing. Williams has set his goals high and is determined to set records and break barriers while giving his all on each on of his fights.

 

“Each fight, I just want to be better than the last fight and I’m on the cusp of being a contender and getting the title shot. When I win the title, I want to break the title defense record which is held by Terry Norris. I want to go down as the best junior middleweight to ever lace up a pair of gloves.”

Returning to St. Pete’s for the first time in nearly three years, Mad Integrity Fight Sports ran two highly successful cards at the Hilton Bayfront which featured future TV fighters Amos Cowart and Clarence Booth.

 

Headlining the card is an eight round Sunshine State showdown between popular welterweight Ali Tareh of Tampa and Jacksonville’s Juan Aguirre. Tareh, who has fought all but three of his professional bouts in Florida, has a 13-11-5 grand livre avec 5 victoires par KO. The owner of Fight Fitness Center in nearby Pinellas Park, Tareh has won four of his last six bouts but is coming off a decision loss to Javier Garcia last July. Originally from Guatemala, Aguirre has a reputation for his fearlessness and incredible durability. A mirror image of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, Resendez is fighting for the first time since December 2014. The Resindez-Chirino bout is scheduled for six rounds and expected to steal the show.

 

Undefeated Armando “The Gentleman” Alvarez, 8-0 (4 KO), will trek north from Miami, FL to battle Tampa’s Lee “Holliwood” Dawson a six round welterweight contest. Alvarez is a talented boxer-puncher with a loyal fan base that follows him wherever he fights while Dawson will look to make it five straight without a defeat.
