Tyner and Chambliss Grudge Match Ready to Explode on October 26 à Detroit

dans la boxe, there are “grudge” matches manufactured to sell fights, where the hostility is mostly acting. Par exemple, there are indications of that in the buildup to Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s upcoming showdown.

And then sometimes, two fighters really, really don’t like each other. Think Terence Crawford taking out Jose Benavidez Jr., recently.

In Detroit, the latter type of grudge match, a real grudge match, has heated to a boil on social media. With insults and threats going back-and-forth daily, outspoken Detroit boxing staple Lanardo “Pain Server” Tyner (34-13-2, 21 KOs) and upstart opponent Cortez Chambliss (4-0, 4 KOs) have been escalating hostilities since the day their match-up was announced.

The two Detroit-based welterweights will finally settle their differences in the eight-round main event on Friday, Octobre 26, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel.

Tickets priced between $180-$25 and are available through Ticketmaster outlets.

“He’s trying to bunny hop over me, but he’s not ready,” said an animated Tyner. The 43-year-old is known as a fearless and iron-jawed spoiler. A 14-year veteran, Tyner has been the 12-round distance with elite superstar Canelo Alvarez and world champions such as Lamont Peterson and Antonio DeMarco. He’s also taken out a number of prospects who found out too late they were in too deep.

“I can’t believe he even called me out,” continued Tyner. “He’s going to get a beating. This isn’t the amateurs and there are no shortcuts. This is not the door to come through.”

A heavily decorated former amateur, 21-year-old Chambliss has been flawless, jusque là, comme un professionnel. With power in both hands and above-average speed, Chambliss looks like a new face in the resurgent Motown boxing scene.

“This fight is personal to me,"Il a dit. “Not for the same reasons as my opponent; anger and hostility have nothing to do with it. Pour moi, it’s all about the energy of the risk and challenge. C'est ça la vie: ‘growth through challenge,’ so I’m excited for this opportunity.”

L'événement, entitled “Night of Knockouts XIV” is presented by Carlos Llinas, in cooperation with Dmitriy Salita.

“Carlos Llinas has delivered a consistent, successful series, which has served as a development ground for many notable names in the sport,« Il a dit Dmitriy Salita. “This match between Chambliss and Tyner is a classic crossroads fight, with a young, undefeated contender and a proven veteran. A ‘must win’ for both that I know will deliver for the fans. I am happy to be involved with the upcoming event and working together towards producing top contenders and champions in the championship city of Detroit.”

“This is the number one boxing and MMA series in the country that has been going on for nine years and I’m glad to be working with Salita Promotions on this event,” said Carlos Llinas. “It’s good for fighters and everyone involved when promoters can work with each other and provide a platform for fighters to reach the next level.”

Également sur la carte, one of the most promising young fighters in Detroit’s resurgent boxing scene, undefeated bantamweight Ja’Rico “Great Lakes King” O’Quinn (9-0-1, 6 KOs), will return to action six-round bout against former world-title challenger Christian “Italiano” Esquivel of Mexico (30-15-1, 23 KOs).

The MotorCity Casino Hotel is located at 2901 Grand River in Detroit. La nuit de combat, ouverture des portes à 6:30 pm and the first bout begins at 7 h. All guests must be at least 21 years of age with valid photo ID.

Sunday Matinee Detroit Brawl Draws Huge Crowd to Masonic Temple in Detroit

Promoter Dmitriy Salita of Salita Promotions wishes to thank all the participants, sponsors and especially the fans who helped make his latest “La bagarre de Détroit” such a tremendous success.
Held this past Sunday, Janvier 22, at the Masonic Temple Downtown, the Detroit Brawl attracted a near sell-out crowd, who took in an exciting night of no less than 10 combats. In the night’s welterweight main event, Detroit’s Lanardo Tyner (31-10-2, 20 KOs) proved he still has plenty left in the tank as he made a meal out of Hungary’s Istvan Dernanecz (10-5, 7 KOs).
Tyner, one of the city’s most beloved fighters, scored an impressive TKO in the first round (1:58).
And in the co-main event, Detroit bantamweight James Gordon Smith (12-0, 7 KOs) had an usually easy night, as he took out Hungary’s Szilveszter Ajtai (10-4-1, 5 KOs) au 1:00 marque de la deuxième ronde. Having had several slugfests in a row, Smith used his considerable talent to take out his Hungarian foe with a flurry of hard punches along the ropes.
Boxing’s big comeback continues,” said a happy Salita, d'après-combat. “The goal of this series was to showcase the best young prospects in the city in competitive match-ups and we’ve done it and the fans have responded very well. The crowd today was very large and loud and came out in force to support their local fighters. It was a great event and thank you to everyone, especially Greektown Casino for their continued support.
Other Results:
Detroits Ja’Rico O’Quinn scored a third-round TKO (2:34) over Chicago’s Angel Carvajal.

Russian Cruiserweight Zubov Continues Road to Redemption at Detroit Brawl on Sunday, Janvier 22 Against Budapest, Hungary’s Csomor

Russian cruiserweight Alexey Zubov knows what’s at stake when he enters the ring ce dimanche à Detroit.
With a second chance in a nationally televised fight possibly looming on the nearby horizon, Zubov (13-1, 8 KOs) from Magnitogorsk, Russie, will face Budapest, Hungary’s Andras Csomor (18-14-1, 14 KOs) dans un combat de huit rondes.
Zubov vs. Csomor will be one of the main supporting bouts in promoter Dmitriy Salita’s special Sunday edition of his “La bagarre de Détroit” series on Janvier 22, 2017, at Masonic Temple. In the night’s eight-round main event, Detroit’s perennial welterweight gate keeper and fan favorite LanardoPain ServerTyner (30-10-2, 19 KOs) will face Nagykanizsa, Hungary’s Istvan Dernanecz (10-4, 7 KOs). in the eight-round co-main event Detroit bantamweight James Gordon Smith (11-0, 6 KOs) will face Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary’s Szilveszter Ajtai (10-3-1, 5 KOs).
Once again sponsored by the Greektown Casino Hotel, billets pour “La bagarre de Détroit” are priced at VIP $123, Box Seats are $80 et $60, Seating is $80, $60, $40, et $20. They are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com.
For this training camp, Zubov worked with his trainer, the late Emanuel Steward’s nephew Javan “Sucre” Colline, as he helped prepare former WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell for his recent fight.
Everything was perfect in my training this time,” said Zubov. “I love working with Javan, he has helped me grow so much as a fighter. And Anthony Dirrell taught me a great deal as well. I will be showing what I’ve learned ce dimanche.”
Although he’s not taking him lightly, the formerly heavily decorated amateur Zubov says his studies of opponent Csomor haven’t revealed much he hasn’t seen before.
I’ve watched a little bit of him on tape and he does nothing out of the ordinary. I’ve fought guys like him before who have the same style. And I always handle them very well.
Zubov, looking to face the likes of WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk, countryman Denis Lebedev, or any of the division’s other big names, says his return to national television will be nothing like the first time. Zubov suffered his only career loss, une unanimous decision to Moldova’s Constantin Bejenaru, last April at the Turning Stone in Verona, New York and live on ShoBox.
I was nervous. I never fought on a big show before that and I choked up,” explained Zubov of the loss. Next time will be totally different. I have been around big-time boxing on big shows enough times now. I will be ready.
Also seeing action that night will be former cruiserweight world title challenger “Ouragan” Wright junior (15-2-1, 12 KOs) from Evanston, Illinois, making his heavyweight debut against Detroit’s Damon McCreary (15-6, 11 KOs) en six tours.
In a bantamweight six-rounder, undefeated bantamweight Ja’RicoGreat Lakes King” O'Quinn (4-0, 3 KOs) will take on Chicago’s Angel Carvajal (2-5).
In a super lightweight four, Detroit’s rejuvenated “Foudre” Larry Ventus (7-11-1, 3 KOs) will face Florida’s iron-jawed Jesus Lule (9-20-1, 1 KO).
Popular and undefeated super welterweight Ardreal Holmes (4-0, 2 KOs) of Flint, Michigan, is scheduled to fight Macon, Georgia’s Bryan Goldsby (3-1).
Undefeated Alabama super featherweight Dwayne Zeigler (5-0-1, 5 KOs) will face Aaron Hollis (3-3, 2 KOs) of Cincinnati in a four-round super featherweight fight.
Kronk welterweight Jacob Bonas (2-0-1, 1 KO), Toledo super middleweight DeAndre Ware (8-0, 6 KOs) and undefeated Detroit heavyweight Marcus Carter (1-0, 1 KO) will face opponents that are yet to be announced.

Bigger, Stronger Heavyweight Version of Junior Wright to be Unleashed against McCreary at Detroit Brawl on January 22, at Masonic Temple in Detroit

Former cruiserweight world title challenger “Ouragan” Junior Wright has been hitting the weights hard and will enter the ring for the first time as a heavyweight in his next ring appearance.
Wright (15-2-1, 12 KOs) from Evanston, Illinois, expects to come in at a muscular 225 lbs. when he takes on Detroit’s Damon McCreary (15-6, 11 KOs) in an eight-round featured bout on promoter Dmitriy Salita’s special Dimanche edition of his “La bagarre de Détroit” series on Janvier 22, 2017, at Masonic Temple in Detroit.
Once again sponsored by the Greektown Casino Hotel, billets pour “La bagarre de Détroit” are priced at VIP $123, Box Seats are $80 et $60, Seating is $40, et $20. They are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com.
“Formation va bien,” said Wright. “I’m treating this like another world title fight because at this level anyone could beat you on any day.
Despite a short, 50-lutte, amateur career, Wright was a Chicago Golden Gloves winner as an amateur. He was able to drop Beibut Shumenov in May of this year, challenging for the WBA world championship.
The biggest thing I learned in that fight is to relax in the ring. When you’re relaxed, you are more aware in there and can pace yourself a lot better.
Wright’s trainer, Rick Wilson, says the decision to gain 25 lbs. gives the fighter, who he says can still get down to cruiserweight’s 200-lb limit, more career options moving forward.
Junior is like a Holyfield-type of fighter who is a cruiserweight in his early 20s and then grows into a full-fledged heavyweight near his 30s. People like small, agile heavyweights better than the lumbering monsters hugging each other all fight. They make for more exciting fights.
Wilson says because of Wright’s relative lack of experience, the world hasn’t seen the best of him yet.
How many fighters have had two world title fights by their 18th pro fight (the fight against Chakhkiev was for the IBO World Cruiserweight Championship) after having just 50 combats amateurs?” he asked. “Plus Junior was knocking everybody out, so he had very few rounds in the bank and went in on short notice. The best of Junior Wright is still to be seen. He’s a very special talent.
In separate eight-rounders will be a pair of recognizable contenders, Detroit fan favorite LanardoPain ServerTyner (30-10-2, 19 KOs) and welterweight KO artist BakhtiyarBakha Bullet” Yeyubov (11-0, 10 KOs) de Houston, Texas, via Aktjubinsk, Kazakhstan will face opponents in separate bouts.
In other scheduled eight-rounders will be transplanted cruiserweight Alexey Zubov (13-1, 8 KOs), from Magnitogorsk, Russie, now living in Detroit and Detroit’s all-action bantamweight James Gordon Smith (11-0, 6 KOs).
In six-round bouts will be resurgent Detroit welterweight “Foudre” Larry Ventus (7-11-1, 3 KOs); and undefeated Toledo super middleweight prospect DeAndre Ware (8-0, 6 KOs).
In exciting scheduled four-rounders will be talented, undefeated bantamweight JaricoGreat Lakes King” O'Quinn (4-0, 3 KOs); 2016 Olympic alternate and undefeated middleweight Ardreal Holmes (4-0, 2 KOs) of Flint; and undefeated Detroit heavyweight and former National Golden Gloves champion Marcus Carter (1-0, 1 KO).
All opponents are, jusque là, TBA, but matchmaker Dennis Turner is hard at work to make another spectacular night that these shows are known for.
La nuit de combat, ouverture des portes à 4:00 h and the fights begin at 5:00 h. The Masonic Temple is located at 500 Temple Street in Detroit.

Sensational Welterweight War Headlines Special Sunday Edition of Detroit Brawl on January 22, at Masonic Temple in Detroit

Already building a reputation for putting on Detroit’s best boxing shows, promoter Dmitriy Salita and Salita Promotions have done it again by featuring a potentially explosive war in their next show.
In a special Sunday edition of their popular “La bagarre de Détroit” series on Janvier 22, 2017, Detroit fan favorite and world-class spoiler LanardoPain ServerTyner (30-10-2, 19 KOs) will return to action to face undefeated Toledo, Ohio, hotshot WesleyCasanova” Tucker (13-0, 8 KOs) en cas de huit tour.
Once again sponsored by the Greektown Casino Hotel, billets pour “La bagarre de Détroit” are priced at VIP $123, Box Seats are $80 et $60, Seating is $40, et $20. They are available at all Ticketmaster outlets andTicketmaster.com.
Known for his powerful fists and granite chin, Lanardo Tyner is a former USBO and USNBC Welterweight Champion and one of boxing’s most dangerous gate keepers. Tyner has never been stopped in his career, despite facing a long list of future champions and top contenders including Canelo Alvarez, Lamont Peterson, Jessie Vargas, and Antonio DeMarcoand given them all tough fights. Tyner holds victories over former world champion Vivian Harris and a then 17-0-1 Charles Hatley. He also stopped then 21-3-1 Tyrese Hendrix and fought to a draw with top contender Adrian Granados.
I know he’s a good fighter and a cool guy. I sparred him one time. He’s strong and aggressive. Exactly what I like,” said Tyner. “I’m going to try and make it a war. Hopefully he’s down for it. We both like to fight like thatwhoever backs up, that’s who is going to lose. I doubt I will lose.
Tyner says he can’t wait to see all his fans at the fight and looks forward to seeing where he stands in the division by testing himself against another undefeated would-be contender.
I love to fight in Detroit. I really don’t fight here too often now, so I’m looking forward to fighting in front of all my people and I know he’s bringing a lot of people too, so it’s going to be a great fight. Beating him would mean that I’m still relevant and can still mess up these young punks. He’s stepping up against me. Pour moi, I’m just making sure I still have it.
Undefeated southpaw Wesley Tucker had over 250 amateur bouts and won several championships including the Toledo Golden Gloves, Gants d'argent, and Junior Olympics multiple times. A skilled counter puncher with above average power, Tucker has, jusque là, shown strong ring generalship and a veteran’s confidence, in-ring. Passing the test against Tyner will be a strong indicator he belongs in the discussion of world-class up-and-coming welterweights.
I know he never gets knocked out and he’s a big puncher, but I am too,” dit Tucker. “I was impressed with him. He hit me with a good body shot when we sparred. I’m going to mix it up with him. It’ll be explosive. I love fighting in Detroit because it’s 45 minutes from my hometown. I will have more people there this time than came to my last one and I had over 50 at the last one.
Promoter Salita says he’s looking forward to putting on this fight for the fans in his adopted city of Detroit.
This will be a war,” il dit. “Neither of these guys ever back up and they can both hit very hard. It’s going to be a great test for Wesley Tucker because only the very best can beat Lanardo Tyner. Fights like this are what I pictured when I started the Detroit Brawl series. This is a TV-worthy fight that either fighter could win. I’m very proud to be part of this great event.
Plus de combats, les adversaires et les tours seront annoncés sous peu. La nuit de combat, ouverture des portes à 4:00 h and the fights begin at 5:00 h.

LAS VEGAS (Mars 7, 2016) – “Afficher L'Heure” Shawn Porter will hold a special 12-round exhibition match on Saturday, Mars 12 that will stream live on the Premier Champions de boxe (PBC) Facebook page (www.facebook.com/premierboxingchampions.com) in lieu of his cancelled welterweight title showdown against Keith Thurman.
In an effort to stay active and give his fans an opportunity to see him in live action, Porter will hold an old-fashioned exhibition against Lanardo Tyner (30-10-2, 19 KOs) at his gymPorter Hy-Performance Center at 7 p.m. PT Samedi. Après le combat, Porter will host a 30-minute Facebook Live video Q&A to interact directly with fans about what’s next for him that will also be on the PBC Facebook page.
Porter was as disappointed as most boxing fans when Thurman was injured in an automobile accident and had to pull out of their highly anticipated welterweight championship showdown. It’s no coincidence that Porter is holding this fight on the same night that he was supposed to battle Thurman.
When I found out about Mars 12 not happening because of what happened to Keith, I tried to move forward to fight someone else,” M. Porter. “But given the level of that fight with Keith, there wasn’t anything for me really. So my dad and I decided to do this exhibition. I’m not getting paid. This is 100 percent for anybody out there who loves to see me compete and perform. Lanardo Tyner is a veteran who has fought almost everybody and he’ll provide good excitement. We won’t be going through the motions. This is real.
We’re doing the exhibition because Shawn was so focused on fighting Keith Thurman that we wanted to keep him focused until we can determine when they’ll be boxing again,” said Ken Porter, Shawn’s father and trainer. “We were getting off a plane in Big Bear for training camp when we heard that Keith had been injured and couldn’t fight on Mars 12. We continued to spar and train. We figured the only way we could keep that focus was to have someone push Shawn for 12 rounds or however long it last.
In addition to Porter’s exhibition, amateur middleweight Brandyn Lynch, nephew of legendary comedian Eddie Murphy, will face fellow amateur Joey Alday dans un combat de quatre rondes.
In his last match Porter scored a 12-round unanimous decision against Adrien Broner in Las Vegas last June. The match against Thurman is one of the most highly anticipated of 2016 and will be rescheduled soon.
For his exhibition showdown with Tyner the fighters will wear headgear and use 16-ounce gloves. The fighters will weigh-in the day before the match, but there will be no involvement from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. “Mockjudges and a professional referee will be used to score the fight and complete the atmosphere of a fight night.
We decided to do this because we needed the things associated with a big fightthe atmosphere, la foule, les lumières,” said Ken Porter. “We’re going to have everything a big fight will havea weigh-in the Vendrediavant, the referee, the ring card girls. Mentally and physically Shawn needs this because he hasn’t fought en 10 mois.”
