NICE, CALIFORNIE. (Mars 29, 2017) – Undefeated Cuban prospect Leduan Barthélemy (13-0, 7 KOs) scored a ninth round stoppage of Reynaldo Blanco (14-4, 8 KOs) Mardi nuit dans l'événement principal de Premier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe on FOX Deportes from Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino in Nice, Californie.
I came here knowing that I had to make a statement and deliver a knockout on FS1 and FOX Deportes,” Saïd Barthélemy. “I controlled the fight from the opening bell and never lost focus.
The brother of two-division world champion Rances, Barthelemy showed off his boxing skill by using his length and speed to dictate the action against Blanco. After a slow start, Blanco came alive in the third round and began increasing his offensive output, including a looping right hand that landed clean on Barthelemy’s head late in the round.
Blanco again pushed the action in round four and landed a sharp left hook, but Barthelemy took the shot and responded with a right hook of his own to end the round. Barthelemy continued to have success with his jab, and throwing combinations off of it, and eventually opened up a cut over Blanco’s right eye at the end of round eight.
Barthelemy was the fresher fighter as he entered the ninth round for the first time in his career and it showed as he dropped Blanco with a series of hard right hands early in the ninth round. Blanco was able to get to his feet but Barthelemy continued the onslaught, prompting Blanco’s corner to stop the fight at the official time of 1:30 of round nine.
I feel like I’m the best up-and-coming fighter in the division,” Saïd Barthélemy. “I’m ready to step up to the next level of competition.
The co-main event of the night saw Delaware’s Kyrone Davis (12-1, 5 KOs) earn a split-decision victory over previously unbeaten Marcos Hernandez (9-1, 2 KOs) in a 10-round showdown of super welterweight prospects.
Davis came out aggressive from the start as he looked to close distance and attack Hernandez from the inside. It nearly backfired early as Hernandez wobbled Davis with a left hook and followed up with a right uppercut that put Davis in some early trouble.
The tide swung back towards Davis after the first two rounds with an increased attack to Hernandez’s body, which slowed down the offense of the Fresno-native. Au deuxième tour de sept, a stray body shot from Davis was deemed low by referee Dan Stell, who deducted a point as Hernandez dropped to the canvas.
Despite the deduction, Davis was able to remain effective with his aggressive game plan as both fighters went past eight rounds for the first time in their pro careers. Hernandez appeared to hurt Davis midway through the final round with a left hook, but Davis was able to smother Hernandez as he went for the knockout.
After the end of ten rounds the judges awarded Davis a split decision by scores of 95-94 for Hernandez and 96-93 twice for Davis.
Dans le premier match télévisé, perspective invaincue Malcolm McAllister (9-0, 8 KOs) overcame a knockdown in the final round to earn a unanimous decision over Mexico’s Alejandro Torres(9-2-2, 4 KOs) in their six-round super welterweight clash.
McAllister was in control of the fight throughout the first five rounds using his jab to control the distance and beat Torres to the punch consistently. He began landing more strong right hands in the third round and continued to box effectively while building a lead on the scorecards.
The fight changed drastically early in the sixth and final round as Torres got the better of an exchange of power punches and connected with a massive left hook that stunned McAllister and sent him to the canvas. The Long Beach-native was able to get to his feet but was still shaky as Torres stalked him around the ring.
With a combination of clinches, jabs and movement, McAllister was able to finish the round on his feet despite Torres’ avances. The knockdown was not enough to derail McAllister as he won the decision by the score of 58-55 sur les trois juges’ cartes.

Here is what Hernandez had to say about his training camp, his showdown with Davis and more:
On his current training camp:
Like always, training camp has been tough. My team and I put in a lot of hard work. I have some great sparring in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, with some top-level guys. I know all the hard work will pay off on fight night. There are a couple of more days left before we wrap camp up. En tout, it’s been a great camp.
On facing Kyrone Davis:
Kyrone Davis is a very good fighter with a lot of skill. He’s never been knocked out so I know he has a good chin. This is a fight where the winner will get another opportunity to take his career to another level. We have a nice game plan that we will impose on Davis. I must take control from the first round and make my adjustments from there.
On making his third appearance on FS1:
I’m very happy to be back fighting on FS1. This will be my third consecutive time fighting onMARDIS TOE-to-toe et je ne peux pas attendre. I know a lot of my fans back home in Fresno will be tuning in. I just want to bring another exciting fight to the fans.
On fighting at the Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino:
I like fighting up at the Robinson Rancheria Casino. Being that this will be my third fight up there, I’ve developed a bit of a fan base with the local fans. The venue is nice and the fans are up close so it can get loud in there. I enjoy putting on a great show for everyone in attendance.
On making his 2017 début:
I’ve eagerly been waiting to get back in the ring since I last fought in September. I want to make a statement being that this is my first fight in 2017. I know if I keep winning I’ll be back in the ring with the stakes much higher.

NICE, CALIFORNIE. (Septembre 13, 2016) – Chicago de Eddie Ramirez (15-0, 10 KOs) scored a seventh round knockout of Kevin Watts (11-1, 4 KOs) in a battle of unbeaten super lightweight prospects that served as the main event of Premier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe on FOX Deportes Tuesday night from Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino in Nice, Californie.
Ramirez was determined to be the busier fighter, but it was Watts who scored the first big blow of the night when he caught Ramirez with a right uppercut that dropped his opponent for the first time in his career.
The Chicago-born prospect stepped up the attack after the knockdown and began to dominate the fight with his work rate and body punching. The jab was another effective weapon for Ramirez and it allowed him to navigate the distance and push Watts against the ropes.
Watts was unable to put his punches together and Ramirez became more emboldened in his attack as the fight went on and Watts began to wear down. Ramirez had a 488 à 348 advantage in punches thrown while connecting on 170 punches to Watts’ 130.
The relentless attack eventually paid dividends as Ramirez trapped Watts with a flurry of body punches and eventually put Watts down to the mat. He was unable to beat the count and the fight was waved off at 1:37 au septième tour.
The co-main event of the night saw super welterweight prospect Marcos “Madman” Hernandez (9-0, 2 KOs) earn a unanimous decision over Detroit’s Antonio Urista (7-2, 2 KOs) in their eight-round bout.
Hernandez controlled the fight with his length advantage and superior accuracy while Urista attempted to outwork his opponent. The fight was full of exchanges from start to finish as both fighters loaded up on power punches throughout the night.
Round three saw Hernandez begin to break through and land big, clean shots on Urista, who was staggered by a right hand midway through the round. Hernandez’s steady attack had an effect on Urista in the form of his mouthpiece falling out three times. Dans la cinquième ronde, the third instance prompted the referee to deduct a point from Urista.
Sensing the urgency in the fight, Urista pressed forward and initiated an exciting round of back and forth action. Hernandez continued to get the better of the exchanges but was tagged by a hard left hand to the head right before the bell.
Urista enjoyed a 664-507 advantage in punches thrown, but Hernandez was able to land 213 à coups de poing 193 from his opponent. Hernandez was dominant with his right hooks and he mixed in uppercuts throughout the night as he began to time his opponent.
Hernandez’s 42 percent to 29 percent advantage in punches landed proved to be the difference as he took home the decision by scores of 80-71 deux fois et 79-72.

FIGHTING OUT OF KRONK GYM, BANKS SEES SOUTHPAW OPPONENT SALAS AS NOTHING NEW

Given the number of world-class southpaws he’s been in with at the world-famous Kronk Gym in Detroit, undefeated Motown-based cruiserweight Demetrius Banks (6-0, 4 KOs) says he’s not at all concerned about facing Puerto Rican New Yorker Emilio Salas (5-1-1, 3 KOs).
The pair will meet on Samedi, Mai 14, at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit, in the six-round main event of Salita Promotions’ “La bagarre de Détroit,” événement. In the six-round co-main event Detroit’s undefeated bantamweight James Gordon Smith (9-0, 6 KOs) and Mexico’s Pablo Cupul (8-19, 5 KOs).
Les billets pour “La bagarre de Détroit” sont en vente maintenant et sont au prix de $28, $38, $63, $93, $100 et $123. They are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, en appelant 800-745-3000, or by visiting the Masonic Temple box office.
Because my experience, fighting a southpaw is not much of an adjustment,” said Banks during a break in training. “Being at Kronk, I’ve boxed world-class southpaws like (former WBO Middleweight Champion) Andy Lee and (current WBC Light Heavyweight Champion) Adonis Stevenson to name a few. It’s not a big deal for me. I fought so many southpaws, in the beginning of my career, it was more difficult to box a right hander.
Banks, a former football star and a committed mentor to Detroit’s youth, says that despite it being his first main event, he’s not feeling any extra pressure. “The way I look at it, it’s just another day. I don’t let the situation overwhelm me. I guess after the fight is over I’ll exhale and soak it all in. As of right now I’m ready to go to war. It doesn’t bother me what order we fight in.
Of opponent Salas, Banks says he’s not expecting any surprises.
“Je n'ai pas’ need to see much of him to know what I’m getting. I probably watched part of a round and he’s what I would expect. I saw things in him I can exploit. I also know he’s on a five-fight win streak. He’s 6′ 3″ tall, out of the Bronx and he’s a southpaw. I guess he’s coming to win, but I can’t let this guy take food off my plate.
Banks says he’s aware that at age 35, there is no time to waste and he is working hard at Kronk with head coach Javan Hill and assistant trainer Richard Phillips, knowing that this fight is critical if he is to ever rise to contender status.
This fight presents a big opportunity for me, especially with Dmitriy doing so many big things in boxing. If I win this fight, it gives me the opportunity to sign with him. I feel like I need to hurry. Because of my age, I have a smaller window of opportunity and I understand it. This is an opportunity for me to step it up and get things going.
So how does he see things going against Salas?
I definitely see a fight in my mind before it happens. I always visualize them beforehand. I see the things I don’t want to happen, the things that can’t happen and things I want to do. He’s going to come out and try to show he’s tough and come to fight and win. He’s not me though. He’s not fleet-footed or as slick as me. I’ll trick him and touch him to his body. That will give me a lot of target. I will break him down from the body up.
On the Detroit Brawl undercard, Lansing junior middleweight Antonio Urista (7-1, 2 KOs) will face Greenwood, Indiana’s Pablo Sanchez (7-1, 5 KOs) dans un combat de quatre rondes.
