Dezembro 9, 2017 (Hialeah, FL) – Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella returned to the ring with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Alex “Chi-Town Heat” Martin Friday, Dezembro 8.
The eight round welterweight bout took place at the Hialeah Racetrack in Hialeah, FL and aired on FS1.
Fighting for the first time em 14 meses and coming off a severe injury, Perrella looked to impress from the opening bell. The Fort Myers native came out aggressive and decked Martin with a picture perfect right hook in the opening round. Perrella continued to be the aggressor while the Chicago-based Martin picked his spots and relied on movement. Martin had a few good moments later in the fight but Perrella’s power and punch output earned him a clear-cut victory.
Escores foram 79-72 duas vezes e 77-74. Perrella improves to 15-1 com 13 KO’s while Martin is 13-3 (5 KO).
"It felt great to come back” said Perrella. “I didn’t feel any ring rust and I’m satisfied with my performance. I controlled the fight with my jab and ring generalship (even after) he went into survival mode. I’m back and ready for whoever they put in front of me. My goal is still to become a world champion!"

Ortiz is returning to the ring one week after the World Boxing Council lifted a sanction that it had imposed against the Cuban heavyweight contender in October. Ortiz was pulled from a match against world champion Deontay Wilder scheduled for Nov. 4, after Ortiz failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association drug test. Last week the WBC ruled that Ortiz had failed to disclose two medications that he was taking, which triggered his positive test. He was fined $25,000 for failing to make the disclosure, and re-instated into the organization’s rankings.
That cleared the way for Ortiz to return to the ring, and he will waste no time doing so with a match that he hopes will help propel him toward another world title shot in 2018.
“I’m just thankful to be back in the sport I love so much. I can’t wait to get some action and feel that ring and those gloves tight on my wrist,” Ortiz said. “Eu gostaria de agradecer a todos, especially my loyal fans, who stood by me and supported me through this rough time. The hard-hitting southpaw turned pro seven years ago after defecting from Cuba and has since been steadily climbing the heavyweight ladder. He cemented his standing in the division with victories over veteran contenders Bryant Jennings, Tony Thompson and Malik Scott and is currently ranked No. 3 pelo WBC. Ortiz hasn’t fought in almost a year, having scored a technical knockout victory over David Allen at Manchester Arena in England on Dec. 10, 2016 em sua última luta.
Ortiz-Martz replaces the Chad Dawson-Edwin Rodriguez light heavyweight bout on the card. The match was cancelled after Dawson suffered an injury in training camp.
The 27-year-old Martz (16-5-1, 13 KOs), a 6-foot-7 heavyweight from Clarksburg, West Virginia, has taken on world champion Joseph Parker and contender Bryant Jennings during his five-year professional career. He is coming off a second round technical knockout victory over Tim Washington on Nov. 17.

Fort Myers, FL (Novembro 30, 2017) – Welterweight Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella returns to the ring against Alex “Chi Town Heat” Martin Sexta-feira, Dezembro 8 at Hialeah Park in Miami, FL.
The Perrella-Martin showdown is scheduled for 10 rounds and airs on FS1 at 9 PM ET as part of Premier Boxing Champions’ “PBC em FS1” série. The bout proceeds a light heavyweight matchup between former world champion Jean Pascal and unbeaten Ahmed Elbiali.
Fighting for the first time since a disappointing setback against Yordenis Ugas in September 2016, Perrella’s an outstanding 14-1 com 13 vitórias por nocaute. BELÉM, PA. (Junho 28, 2017) – Miguel Cruz (16-0, 11 KOs) ganhou uma decisão unânime para derrotar Alex Martin (13-2, 5 KOs) e permaneceu invicto em uma revanche dos meio-médios que encabeçou Premier Boxe dos Campeões TERÇA TOE-de-toe em FS1 eBoxe dos Campeões na Fox Deportes Terça-feira noite do Sands Bethlehem Events Center em Belém, Pa.
Depois de vencer uma decisão dividida contra Martin no confronto de janeiro, Cruz manteve seu recorde perfeito intacto ao marcar dois knockdowns antes de tomar a decisão em seu confronto de 10 rounds.
“Sinceramente, não me senti bem na nossa primeira luta e quando re-assisti, Eu pensei que Martin ganhou,” disse Cruz. “Isso me fez treinar cada vez mais do que nunca para provar que tenho as habilidades e o poder para competir em nível mundial, e acho que fiz isso hoje à noite.”
Cruz começou rápido ao acertar um enorme gancho de esquerda que pegou Martin e o derrubou no final do primeiro round. Martin conseguiu se levantar e se recuperar pouco antes do sino soar para encerrar a rodada.
Martin continuou tentando trabalhar por dentro, mas Cruz estava determinado a empurrar para trás e aterrissou consistentemente com grandes tiros de força. Outro gancho de esquerda na quarta rodada mandou Martin para o tatame novamente, embora ele parecesse menos afetado do que durante o primeiro knockdown.
“Eu estava lutando contra sua luta hoje à noite,” disse Martin. “Eu simplesmente não tive meu melhor desempenho. O primeiro knockdown foi um knockdown real, mas no segundo knockdown ele me acertou na parte de trás da cabeça.”

“Martin foi super difícil,” disse Cruz. “Eu não achava que ele conseguiria sair da segunda rodada, mas ele definitivamente me deu problemas. Eu estava tentando impedi-lo.”

Cruz and Martin first clashed on a PBC card this January, with both men looking to bolster their perfect records at the time. It was a matchup featuring two distinct styles as the lankier orthodox Cruz favored using power punches throughout the fight while the southpaw Martin tried to box and ride his speed and jab to victory. The young welterweights delivered consistent exciting exchanges before the decision went to the judges, who delivered a split decision with one judging scoring the fight for Martin and two favoring the work of Cruz.
“I won the first fight between us and I’m here to prove that,” disse Cruz. “I will be victorious again and this time everyone will be able to do it. I’m going to get the win in even more convincing fashion. I’m looking forward to this fight and I’m not planning on letting it go the distance.”
“This fight will not go the distance,” disse Martin. “It will end early. He is not as good as his record says. Everyone who has seen the first fight knows it was a bad decision. I think even he knows he lost. I will make a more emphatic statement this fight. I will do in this fight what I should have done last night.”

LAS VEGAS (Maio 31, 2017) – Errol Spence, Jr. brought an exhilarating conclusion to the month of May with a resounding 11th round knockout victory over Kell Brook to win a 147-pound world championship on Brook’s home turf of Sheffield, Inglaterra. Spence’s exciting victory was presented live by Premier Boxing Champions on SHOWTIME this past Sábado noite.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Janeiro 20, 2017) – Erislandy Lara, the WBA/IBO 154-pound champion, scored two knockouts in his match against Yuri Foreman in Miami on Premier Championship Boxing em Spike TV last Friday night. One in the ring to retain his world titles and another in the ratings. “We just wrapped up about a week and we got some good rest during fight week. Training camp has been very productive. I’m comfortable with my weight and I feel strong going into this fight. My strength and conditioning is right where I want it. Ronnie and I are always polishing up on the things I do well. Global, it’s been a great camp.”
On facing former world champion Yuri Foreman…
