Perez wins New Jersey State Super Middleweight Title with decision over Aikens in Atlantic City Classic

ATLANTIC CITY (Septembre 10, 2018)–DeCarlo Perez and Antowyan Aikens lived up to the pre-fight hype of a knockdown- dragout war that eventually saw Perez eek out an eight-round unanimous decision on Saturday night at The Bourbon Room inside the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City.

 

The bout between Atlantic City rivals, which gave Perez the New Jersey State Super Middleweight title, headlined an terrific 10-bout card promoted by Rising Star Promotions.

 

 

The fight saw Perez push the action early as he buckled Aikens into the ropes in the 2nd round. Not only did Aikens stem the tide, but came back emphatically, as he landed a perfect right that sent Perez to the canvas.

 

Now with Aikens seemingly in control. Perez came back the very next round to land a perfect left hook that put Aikens on the canvas. It looked like Perez would be able to end the fight, but Aikens came back and stood toe-to-tow with Perez, and gave as good he received.

 

With a cut over his left eye, Perez was able to box his way down the stretch of the fight, which thrilled the capacity crowd and the Showboat Hotel.

 

 

 

Perez of Atlantic City won by scores of 77-72, 76-74 et 75-74 pour s'améliorer 17-6-1. Aikens of Atlantic City is 13-5-1.

 

 

 

“Antowyan surprised me on how he was able to be so consistent. When he did knock me down, I was able to stay calm, and keep my composure. Catie Denning a fait ses débuts en MMA amateur Février dernier à “NEF 32” à Lewiston, Maine. Elle a dominé Chelsea Tucker (0-3) pour trois tours sur son chemin à une victoire par décision unanime des juges’ tableaux de bord. Denning est membre du MMA Young basé à Bangor, Maine où elle formera une nouvelle fois pour son deuxième album combat de cage.

“Je suis très heureux de pas en arrière dans la cage,” a déclaré Denning. “Il a été beaucoup trop long et je suis plus affamé que jamais. Je comprends très bien que je suis pas à pas à prendre un adversaire coriace, mais je suis pour le défi et espère pouvoir mettre en valeur tout mon travail dur depuis mon dos débuts amateur en Février.”

NEF SELLS OUT BANGOR FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR WITH WILD MMA CARD

Bangor, Maine (Septembre 9, 2018) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. It was the third time in as many years that the fight promotion visited the Queen City and sold out the venue.

The main event featured a bout hailed as the “Battle of Bangor” as popular locals Aaron “Implacable” Lacey (6-2) et Jon Lemke (7-9) squared off. Lacey submitted Lemke in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

Favori ville natale “Le” Ryan Sanders (17-9) took on Mando “Big Chino” Montoya (10-7) en cas de co-principal. Au 4:10 marque de la première ronde, Ponceuses, the reigning NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, forced Montoya to tap to a guillotine choke.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Septembre 9, 2018) – Hier soir TMB & PRB Divertissement présenté “Fight Night at the Scottish Rite 2” a ten-bout card that took place at the Scottish Rite Theatre in downtown San Antonio. In the six-round main event, local fighters, Gilbert Venegas et Armando Cardenas gave the fans a crowd-pleasing showdown.
Cardenas, who had the height and reach advantage, was doing his best to box from the outside, but was getting caught with overhand rights by Venegas. Both fighters went out with a blaze of glory as they went toe to toe in the last seconds of round six. The fight was going back and forth as both fighters were giving the fans their money’s worth. Though both fighters had their moments, the fight ended in a Majority draw. Scorecards lus 58-56 for Wilson and 57-57 deux fois. The decision upset Sanibanez and he stormed out of the ring, leaving the photographers empty handed.
4-Round Middleweight Bout
Luis Villareal (3-0-1, 1 KOs) vaincu Stetson Horne (0-2)
In a close fight, Luis Villareal edged out Stetson Horne over four rounds. Villareal applied pressure from the opening bell, forcing Horne to box from the outside. Villareal was the busier fighter who landed the cleaner shots and won by unanimous decision. Scorecards lus 39-37 for Villareal.
4-Round Super Bantamweight Bout
Gregory Morales (5-0, 3 KO) vaincu Jorge De Leon (0-4)
San Antonio natif, Gregory Morales looking sensational in his bout with Jorge De Leon. Morales was landing hard power shots to the body and head right out the gate. A solid right hook dropped De Leon at the beginning of round two. Victor Pasillas (13-0, 6 KOs) vaincu Manuel Rubalcava (4-29)
Fighting for the second time in 2018, Victor Pasillas dominated his opponent Manuel Rubalcava from the opening bell. BROOKLYN (Septembre 9, 2018) – Shawn Porter became WBC Welterweight World Champion Saturday night as he earned a narrow unanimous decision victory over Danny Garcia in a hotly contested fight live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center, la maison de BROOKLYN BOXE ™, dans un événement présenté par Premier Champions de boxe.

Porter earned the belt that Keith Thurman, who previously defeated Porter and Garcia, was forced to vacate due to an injury.

 

 

 

In an anticipated title fight that was widely regarded as a 50-50 contest in boxing’s deepest division, Garcia vs. Porter played out as advertised. The difference in total power punches landed throughout the 12-round battle was just five, with Garcia holding the narrow advantage.

 

 

 

In a matchup of accuracy vs. activity, Porter looked to outworked Garcia. He was relentless in his attack and threw 742 total punches and 544 coups de puissance, atterrissage 25 pour cent. In the co-featured event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, consensus top-10 welterweight Yordenis Ugas (23-3, 11 KOs) out boxed Argentina’s Cesar Miguel Barrionuevo (34-4-2, 24 KOs) on his way to a dominating unanimous decision victory (119-109, 120-108, 120-108). With the win in the WBC title eliminator, Ugas earns the WBC’s second mandatory position to fight Porter.

 

 

 

In a tactical performance, Ugas dictated the pace from the opening bell and looked comfortable throughout the 12 tours. NEW YORK (Septembre 7, 2018)–Boxing’s deepest management stable just got richer as Split-T Management is proud to announce the signing of amateur standout Eric Puente to an exclusive management deal.

 

 

 

Puente, 19 years old of Vista, California by way of Sinaloa, Mexico will campaign in the lightweight division.

 

 

 

Puente started boxing at the age of eight years-old by his father/trainer, Jean.

 

 

 

He went on to win the 2016 National Youth Open Championship, and was a member of Team USA. Puente was a favorite to be a member of the 2020 United States Olympic Team.

 

 

 

Puente, who stand 5’8″ likens his style to a cross between Danny Garcia and Yuriorkis Gamboa.

“I always pay my homage to the fighters that led me towards this path. Boxers like Fernando Vargas and Floyd Mayweather. Plus, MMA champions like Connor McGregor, Michael Chandler and more. But I am my own self. I do take a bit of every fighter, shake it up and come out with whatever I’ve been working on.”

“I don’t try to focus on one solid background. I am a mixed martial artist now. I always keep an open mind, and try to dig into all aspects of the game.”
