Gleason’s Gym will host the quarter finals of the Daily News Golden Gloves on Tuesday, Mars 21st.

Houston’s Historic George Foreman Youth and Community Center to Host 2016 Gulf Boxing Association Regional Championships
Premier event – Gulf LBC selects team to travel to USA BOXING Elite National Championships in conjunction with the Selection and Announcement of the First Inaugural George Foreman Youth and Community Center Elite International Travel Team!!
HOUSTON, TX (Octobre 10, 2016) -Starting with the ring of the bell on October 22nd, local area boxers will be fighting for a spot to represent the Gulf Coast Region au Championnats nationaux de boxe USA & en International Travel.
Weight categories will include: Pee Wee 8-9, Bantam 10-11, Intermediate 12-13, Juniors 14-15, Youth 15-16, & Élite 18-40 in both Open and Novice divisions. Winners will represent the Gulf area at the 2016 USA Boxing Elite, Youth and Junior National Championships to be held in Kansas City Missouri Décembre 4-10, 2016. This tournament is a sanctioned event through USA Boxing the National Governing Body of Amateur Boxing and is a feeder to National and Olympic recognition.
Le George Foreman Youth and Community Center was founded 32 years ago in 1984 by Olympic Gold Medalist and 2-time heavy weight champion George Foreman. The GFYCC is dedicated to providing a safe and secure location for youth to participate in sports and after school activities.
“This year for the first time in Houston boxing history, we are developing an elite international youth boxing team,” said George Foreman, IV. “The team will be selected for the sole purpose of training and traveling to other countries to gain experience on an international platform and promote cultural diplomacy! Utilizing grant and donor funding this team will be representing the George Foreman Youth and Community Center and will be announced Saturday October 22, at the Gulf Region’s Boxing Championship. The team will be reviewed by my father, 1968 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2-Time Heavyweight Champion, George Foreman Sr. The first international trip for this new Houston team is scheduled for Jan. 2017.”
Doors open for the Gulf Gloves Championships on Saturday October 22nd at 11:00 suis with announcements and the presentation of the colors by the United States Army Houston Recruiting Command Baytown Beaumont Company at 12:45 h. The national anthem will be performed by the internationally acclaimed Houston Brass Quintet! Boxe commencera à 1:00 h. Championship finals will begin at 1:00 h sur Sunday October 23rd.
Media open workouts for Houston amateur standout boxers will be held Wednesday October 19th at the George Foreman Youth and Community Center at 2202 Lone Oak Road Houston, Texas 77093 à 4:00 h.

Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz: WBA Lightweight World Champion, WBO Lightweight World Champion, WBA Super-Lightweight World Champion, IBF Lightweight World Champion.

BOSTON (Octobre. 21, 2015) — USA Boxing Nouvelle-Angleterre, établi en 1880 comme l'of fi cielle organe de la boxe amateur dans la région, honorera cinq anciens solistes amateurs, qui a continué à devenir champions du monde comme les boxeurs professionnels, Dimanche, Novembre 8 à Anthony à Malden.
Vinny Paz (Cranston, RI), Micky Ward (Lowell, MA), Joey Gamache (Lewiston, MOI), Jose Antonio Rivera (Worcester, MA) et John Ruiz (Chelsea, MA) seront récompensés pour leurs réalisations exceptionnelles dans le monde de la boxe.
USA Boxing Nouvelle-Angleterre présentera également sa première Skeets Scioli Lifetime Achievement Award. Scioli a servi comme président des Etats-Unis de boxe Nouvelle-Angleterre, de temps à autre, pendant une période emblématique de 70 ans. Il est décédé en 2010 à l'âge de 97.
Le prix Skeets Scioli sera présenté au juge / arbitre Mike Ryan (Tyngsboro, MA) et entraîneur Carlos Garcia (Worcester, MA) pour leur contribution à long temps de la boxe amateur.
Al Bernstein, Showtime Championship Boxing commentateur et internationale de boxe Hall of Fame, servira de maître de cérémonie. “Ceci est un hommage à quelques-uns des meilleurs de la boxe,” Bernstein a déclaré. “La Nouvelle-Angleterre a joué un rôle majeur dans la boxe, non seulement ici en Amérique, mais globalement. Je suis ravi de participer à cet événement et je suis impatient de la connexion avec les fans de boxe dans cette région.”
USA Boxing rendra également hommage aux athlètes et les membres actuels. L'événement est une collecte de fonds pour aider les jeunes athlètes amateurs avec les frais de déplacement à des tournois régionaux et nationaux.
L'événement commence par un cocktail à 2 p.m., suivie d'un dîner au 3 p.m. Ventes aux enchères en direct et silencieuses ainsi fl raf es auront lieu.

Tous nos matchs sont sanctionnés par USABoxingMetro. Tous les boxeurs doivent avoir leur livre de boxe avec eux afin de participer.
La pesée pour les spectacles commenceront à 4:00PM et le premier combat débutera à 6:00PM.
Le prix du billet est de $20 par personne. Enfants 6 et sous ne sont pas chargée. Tous les membres de sport et amateurs enregistrés avec leurs livres de salaire de la main $15 par personne.
