This week on the FNU Combat Sports Show we recap last week’s multiple Bellator cards and the UFC Fight Night card from Boise, Idaho. We start off discussing boxing with an analysis of Manny Pacquiao’s one-sided beating of Lucas Matthysse. We move on to other news this week, including an online spat between Brendan Schaub and Dana White and Dominick Cruz claiming Brock Lesnar will never get through USADA testing to return to the UFC octagon. We also cover upcoming boxing and MMA bouts and discuss the eye poking incidents that occurred during the brief Stipe Micocic vs. Daniel Cormier heavyweight championship bout.

La nuova compagnia promuoverà le MMA e organizzerà nuovi spettacoli in Russia e nella Comunità degli Stati Indipendenti (CIS). M-1 Global diventerà un partner, responsabile dello scouting e dell'ingaggio di atleti russi per prepararli a combattere nell'UFC. I campioni della M-1 Challenge avranno l'opportunità unica di firmare contratti con l'UFC.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, Psychic Tom and Rabble Rousin’ Rich start off with a great interview with pro boxer Anthony Laureano. The Connecticut professional boxer is coming off a big win on the undercard of the Joe Smith Jr. fight at the end of June. We also recap last week’s boxing and MMA action, highlighted by Daniel Cormier’s monumental win over Stipe Miocic to become the first two belt holder in the UFC since McGregor. Tony joins the broadcast after the Laureano interview to give his take on Brock’s return to the UFC after going back to the WWE at the end of his first UFC stint. We also touch upon the Danny O’Connor fight being called off due to severe dehydration suffered by O’Connor. Finalmente, we preview upcoming events and briefly discuss a rumored rematch between Vitali Klitschko and Lennox Lewis.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, Tom, Tony and Rich look back at Bellator 201, a new candidate for “Round the Year” in the Zappavigna/Saucedo fight, Golden Boy making moves in boxing and MMA, and the increasing push by streaming services to drain away the PPV dollar from sports fans. We start off discussing concussion symptoms that led to the withdrawal of Max Holloway from the co-main event of UFC 226 questa settimana.

 

Of course we also preview a huge weekend for the UFC with The TUF Finale tonight and the long-awaited UFC 226 main event of Stipe Miocic putting his heavyweight belt on the line against Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, discutiamo delle ultime novità in MMA e boxe, riepilogare gli eventi della scorsa settimana e visualizzare in anteprima i prossimi eventi di questa settimana. Discutiamo anche di Walter “2 Pistole” Wright ha vinto il suo incontro principale contro Mark DeLuca un paio di giorni dopo che lo abbiamo intervistato la scorsa settimana. La vittoria della decisione divisa di Wright è arrivata in parte a causa di un jab persistente che ha frustrato DeLuca e lo ha lasciato insanguinato, contuso ed esausto dalla campana finale. Ovviamente sollevare questo fatto ci fa andare avanti sull'assoluta necessità del jab nella cassetta degli attrezzi di qualsiasi combattente di sport da combattimento.

Tra le novità tocchiamo:

Le voci sul prossimo combattimento di Manny Pacquiao con Lucas Matthysse sono in pericolo, Manny e il suo team dicono che tutto è sulla buona strada.

Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks si ritira (ha anche dimenticato di menzionare che anche Rashad Evans si è ritirato).

 

L'ultimo cast di The Contender Series, impostato per tornare questo mese di agosto 16 giovani pugili emergenti nella divisione 160 libbre.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that LFA will return to southern California in July with an intriguing welterweight showdown headlining LFA 45.

LFA 45 – Silva vs. Barnes takes place Friday, July 20th at the Morongo Outdoor Pavilion at the Morongo Casino, Località & Spa in Cabazon, California. Silva (19-9) makes his LFA debut eager to get back to his winning ways after spending the last seven years fighting in the UFC. The fifteen-time UFC vet became one of the sport’s most popular fighters due to his dynamic fighting style, which earned him UFC bonuses in nearly half of his bouts for the promotion. Silva won “Fight of the Night” tre volte, “Presentazione della Notte” due volte, e “Performance della notte” twice during his time in the UFC. The Jiu-Jitsu and Judo black belt and former UFC headliner also picked up notable submission victories over Josh Koscheck, Luan Chagas, Mike Rhodes, Jason Alta, and Charlie Brenneman during his tenure with the promotion. Barnes (12-3) returns to the LFA Octagon for his third straight promotional main event dating back to the RFA days. After alternating results in his first four fights with the promotion, “The Phoenix” will look to rise again at LFA 45. The Wyoming native, who now calls San Diego, California home, has long been considered one of the sport’s top welterweight prospects located in talent-rich southern California. Barnes will look to impress once more in front of a largely pro-Barnes crowd in sunny southern California, but this time around he has upped the ante by signing on to face the biggest name opponent of his career in the main event of LFA 45.

Tom, Tony and Rich have a ton of ground to cover in this episode. We recap last week’s most significant fights, starting with the first sanctioned bareknuckle boxing event in hundreds of years. We also break down the latest UFC Fight Night card where Jimmie Rivera took the first loss in his last 21 combattimenti. We discuss Dana White’s tirade against fighters who don’t take the fights the company wants them to, and we blast Canelo Alvarez and his team for destroying all chances of another fight with GGG. We take a good chunk of the show to outline and analyze all the various boxing matches taking place this Saturday, from Tyson Fury’s return to the ring against Sefer Seferi to the battle of pound for pound best and undefeated welterweights Jeremy Horn and Terrence Crawford fighting on ESPN+ (which we criticize heavily). We also touch on the debut card for PFL, a fight league where all the prize money comes at the end of the season. We also discuss the infighting among boxing promoters lately with both Bob Arum and UK upstart Eddie Hearn scrambling to sign free agents while trying to fill slots for slated shows in the United States over the coming year. We go on to recap last week’s combat sports action, highlighting the Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack majority draw and the Usman vs Maia 5-round snoozefest headlining last Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night card. We of course also preview this weekend’s boxing matches and the UFC and Bellator cards coming out of England. We even touch on the regulation of bareknuckle boxing and Bobby Gunn’s claim of no fatalities recorded in the sport.
