LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will make its second trip to the capital city of Brazil in July with a Championship Headliner at LFA 212. The main event will feature an interim flyweight title fight between two of South America’s most decorated prospects. This interim title defense became necessary as the promotion awaits the status of its sitting champion Eduardo Chapolin, who is currently competing on the UFC’s thirty-third season of The Ultimate Fighter.

This will be the twenty-third LFA event to take place in Brazil and it will celebrate the promotion’s international expansion that began four summer’s ago. LFA 212 will take place in the Federal District, which makes it the third LFA event to take place in the Central-West Region of Brazil. LFA has also visited the Brazilian states of Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo, Pernambuco, and Mato Grosso.

“We are excited to bring the LFA Interim Flyweight Championship to the capital city of Brazil,” stated Soares.“The LFA began its international expansion in July of 2021. We have since hosted 22 events in Brazil in the states of Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo, Pernambuco, and Mato Grosso as well as the Federal District. LFA 212 will be our second event in the nation’s capital city of Brasília and we will celebrate our 4-year-anniversary in the country with a title fight. What makes this title fight even more exciting is the fact that it features two of South America’s most decorated prospects. Marcos Degli(Brasile) and Oscar Miguel (Perù) will also rekindle a Brazil vs. Latin America fight tradition that started in the LFA last July.” 

Degli (12-3) started his year in February by becoming the LFA’s fourteenth flyweight champion. He did this by defeating fellow top prospect Lincon Santos in the co-main event of LFA 201. The crowning moment came when Degli landed a beautiful Left Hook to knock out the fellow Brazilian National Muay Thai champion in the second round of their interim flyweight title fight. The interim title shot became available to Degli after the LFA’s sitting flyweight champion Eduardo Chapolin was cast to compete on the UFC’s thirty-third season of The Ultimate Fighter. Degli’s win over Santos ran his LFA record to 4-0 and earned him a gold belt to go along with his BJJ black belt. Tuttavia, instead of waiting on Chapolin, Degli jumped at the opportunity to defend his interim title much like LFA great Charles Johnson did four summer’s ago.

Degli was also eager to face the biggest challenge in his division, who happens to reside on the other side of his continent. That would be none other than Peruvian kingpin Oscar Miguel. Degli vs. Miguel also rekindles the Brazil vs. Latin America rivalry that began last July at LFA 187, when the LFA hosted a team challenge between the two most dominant factions of MMA talent in the southern hemisphere.

Miguel (14-1) is one of the most beloved fighters to hail from the “Land of Incas”. Peru has in fact experienced its Golden Era in MMA over the past few years with Claudio Puelles, Daniel Marcos, Jose Ochoa, Kevin Borjas, Luis Pajuelo, Rolando Bedoya, Jesus Pinedo, James Llontop, and Enrique Barzola all reaching the pinnacle of the sport by competing in the UFC. That success has also carried over to the LFA Octagon, where both Rodrigo Vera and Abraham Racho just won their LFA debuts impressively at LFA 209. Miguel will now become just the second Peruvian fighter to fight for an LFA title and to headline an LFA event after his countrywoman Sandra Lavado became the first to accomplish both these feats two summers ago at LFA 164. LAS VEGAS, Nevada – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will celebrate its year-end event in Minnesota by crowning a new lightweight champion at LFA 56. This event will conclude a stellar 2018 for LFA, which consisted of 27 events that took place cost-to-coast, across all four contiguous U.S. Fusi orari, and were televised live and nationwide on AXS TV.

Hubbard (9-2) returns to the LFA Octagon fresh off the most impressive win of his career. That win took place in his LFA debut in May against fellow top prospect Harvey Park. The fight took place at LFA 39 in Vail, Colorado. The resort town is over 8,000 feet above sea level and the event broke AXS TV’s record for the highest elevated event in network history. The 26-year-old Illinois native, that currently trains at Elevation Fight Team in Denver, was able to withstand the thin air and won a war of attrition against the talented New Mexico based Sheriff’s Deputy, who was riding a 7-fight win streak. Hubbard earned a shot at the vacant title with that gritty performance and will now travel back home to the Midwest with his sights set on becoming LFA’s second lightweight champion.

 

 

 

Mota (11-0) will get his LFA title shot after doing what every fighter dreams of achieving after their first 11 lotte pro. That would be attaining a perfect 11-0 record. During the course of that streak, Mota famously knocked out UFC and PRIDE legend Akihiro Gono in his native Brazil. Tuttavia, it was his most recent win that was his most important win. That came in his LFA debut in June against fellow top prospect Bobby Lee. The 27-year-old Glover Teixeira protégé stopped Lee just 21-seconds into the second round of their fight at LFA 41. The win came via Guillotine Choke after Mota battered Lee with his impressive Muay Thai arsenal. The win also came four weeks after Hubbard’s LFA debut win. Now their paths will finally meet at LFA 56 with the LFA lightweight title on the line.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that there has been a last-minute shuffle at the top of Friday night’s LFA 51 event in Fresno. Jaimee Nievera has pulled out of her title fight in the main event of RFA 51 due to injury. This has elevated the LFA 51 co-main event into headlining status.

 

 

 

The new main event of LFA 51 will feature a bantamweight showdown between four-time UFC veteran Cody Gibson and top Brazilian prospect Gustavo Erak. LFA 51 – Gibson vs. Erak takes place Friday, September 28th at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California. The 31-year-old Menlo College wrestling standout has been fighting professionally for 10 years and will have the home crowd advantage as he trains with UFC star and RFA great Marion Reneau in nearby Visalia, California.

 

 

 

Erak (19-3-1) is one of the top prospects in Brazil. The 26-year-old São Paulo native will be fighting outside of his native of Brazil for the first time in a 24-fight professional career. The Muay Thai stylist and Aspera FC bantamweight champion is currently on an 8-fight win streak and has not lost in 3 anni.

Mazo (5-0) is the 21-year-old LFA women’s flyweight champion that took the MMA world by storm in 2017. The Colombian wunderkind signed with LFA when she was 19-years-old and quickly burst onto the global scene at LFA 9. This happened when she knocked out 82nd Airborne Army veteran Jamie Thorton with a jaw-dropping head kick that went viral on mainstream media and MMA media outlets alike. The Kings MMA product doubled-down in her sophomore appearance for LFA by knocking out Minnesota National Guard member Linsey Williams with a nearly identical first round head kick at LFA 23. Il “Colombian Queen” finally received her crown this past April. The title winning performance came courtesy of a unanimous decision over Shannon Sinn at LFA 37, which saw Mazo provide a brilliant display boxing and clinch work, as well as her signature Muay Thai skills. The Medellín, Colombia native now looks to begin her reign as champion with another masterful performance at LFA 51.

 

 

 

Nievera (7-4) earned her shot at LFA gold this past June with a dominant LFA debut win against the 2016 RFA Fans’ Choice Awards “Prospect of the Year” winner Katy Collins. The unanimous decision win came in Collins’ hometown of Branson, Missouri at LFA 42 just a few months after Collins had been ranked #4 on AXS TV’s inaugural women’s pound-for-pound rankings. The win immediately caught the attention of UFC matchmakers and Nievera was offered a main event spot on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series against Antonina Shevchenko. The 33-year-old Bellator veteran showed her gameness by accepting the fight on a week’s notice against Shevchenko, who is an undefeated MMA prospect, Muay Thai world champion, and the older sister of UFC #1 contender Valentina Shevchenko. Nievera displayed a ton of heart and skill, but did not get the result she wanted. The Union City, California native now has a chance to flip the script with a title winning performance in front of her home crowd at LFA 51.

The live nationally televised event will be part of the 100th Anniversary celebration of Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

Nakashima (8-0) has long been regarded as a special talent. Those prodigious abilities were finally realized by the masses when he was crowned LFA welterweight champion this past fall. His wrestling pedigree, shrewd striking ability, and willingness to learn every aspect of martial arts has made him the undefeated welterweight champion that he is today. The Illinois native and University of Nebraska wrestling standout has taken the 170-pound division by storm since making his professional MMA debut for RFA in 2015. He has defeated opponents that have a staggering combined record of 54-17 with half of those wins coming against undefeated fighters. Now sitting at 8-0 with the LFA welterweight title around his waist, Nakashima is eager to get back in the cage after healing up some injuries. The John Crouch protégé, who trains at The MMA LAB in Arizona, is once again eager to test himself against the best. That next challenge will come against fellow undefeated prospect and #1 contender Kyle Stewart.

 

 

 

Stewart (10-0) has been on a collision course with Nakashima since making his own professional MMA debut in 2015. The U.S. Marine Corps sergeant has amassed his own undefeated record, while training with Trevor Lally at Arizona Combat Sports just 30 minutes away from Nakashima. The decorated war veteran who saw action in Afghanistan, while serving multiple tours overseas, has successfully brought his combat skills to the cage where he is considered one of the top two welterweight prospects in the world. The other would be Nakashima, the man Stewart has long had his eye on since their careers began three years ago. The reality of them finally meeting in the Octagon became even more real when Stewart won his LFA debut last year. Stewart made a final statement for a title shot when he handed fellow top prospect Jaleel Willis his first loss in the main event of LFA 33 lo scorso febbraio. Next up for “Gunz Up”, Nakashima for the title, in front of his fellow soldiers and veterans at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.

Krantz (21-10) captured the inaugural LFA welterweight championship twelve months ago with a performance that is considered the magnum opus of his impressive MMA career. The powerhouse from Texas is always itching for a good old-fashioned fist fight and unloaded his formidable fistolas on Ben Neumann in the main event of LFA 12 to capture his second world title. Two years earlier, Krantz accomplished a nearly identical feat against UFC vet Brock Larson to win the Legacy FC welterweight title. Krantz lost his LFA title via Split Decision in a closely contested bout with former University of Nebraska wrestling standout James Nakashima at LFA 23, but he bounced back with a dominant win over longtime Legacy FC vet Artenas Young in March. The 30-year-old former champ now has his sights set on another fighter who has made a name for himself in Nebraska. That would be the man known as “Killa Kayne”.

 

 

 

Kayne (12-4) is one of the most exciting fighters to hail from the “Spannocchiatrice Stato” del Nebraska. That is where the proud Nebraskan knocked out highly-touted Hawaiian prospect Maki Pitolo seventeen months ago to win a regional title in his hometown of Omaha. Since that notable night in his career, “Killa Kayne” has taken his talents to the LFA Octagon. The two-time RFA vet made his LFA debut in his home state this past October at LFA 25. He stopped fellow RFA vet Jordon Larson via TKO in a showdown between two of the Midwest’s most popular fighters. Kayne continued his winning ways just two weeks ago, when he scored a quick TKO win over Ivey Nixon in a local show. Now he returns to the LFA Octagon to battle a former LFA champion at a neutral location. Branson, Missouri is the midway point between Kayne’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska and Krantz’s hometown of Marshall, Texas.

The win came after Ferreira made a come back to the sport after a two-year layoff. In the bout before Ferreira’s successful return, it was a battle of LFA / Legacy FC star Geoff Neal and former RFA welterweight champion Brian Camozzi. Neal made a big statement in his UFC debut and picked up the win via Rear Naked Choke.
Sanchez also picked up his first UFC win. The inaugural LFA flyweight champion earned a submission win via Rear Naked Choke less than two-minutes into the bout. Morono got things moving in the right direction for our LFA/RFA/Legacy FC alum, when the former Legacy FC welterweight champion submitted longtime UFC vet Josh Burkman via Guillotine Choke early in Round 1.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) CEO Ed Soares announced the promotion will kick off 2018 with an action-packed event in southern California.

Mill Ends (13-3) returns home to the building where he fought and won his first seven fights. The Orange County juggernaut is looking to build off a perfect 2017 where he won three fights, including back-to-back LFA headliners. His most recent win came via highlight reel Head Kick KO in the main event of LFA 24. Millender will meet Barnes (12-2) in a long-awaited showdown between two of southern California’s finest. The welterweight stars started their careers in the southern California regional circuit, moved on to Bellator, and will finally meet in the main event of LFA 30. Barnes, like Millender, is coming off an impressive win in an LFA headliner this past August at LFA 20.
While the main event will feature a rivalry between two of the top welterweights in LFA, the co-main event will feature a rivalry between two of the LFA featherweight division’s most talented jiu-jitsu practitioners.
Fernando Padilla (10-1) put the division on notice in October, when he submitted longtime RFA vet Darrick Minner with a Triangle-Armbar in the first round of their co-main event bout at LFA 25. Padilla, who is a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, has now won 90% of his fights by first round stoppage. He will now face a man equally dangerous on the ground when he meets Talison Soares (9-2) in the co-main event of LFA 30. Soares is a jiu-jitsu black belt from the famed Checkmat BJJ team who has made a name for himself competing in his native Brazil. Soares has a 100% finishing rate in the nine bouts he has won and will now make his international debut in the co-main event of LFA 30.
