PHILADELPHIA – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
“For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.”
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out OVO SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Philly Borba godine”, u “Philly Borba godine”, u “Knockout of the Year”, “Amateur of the Year”, “Rookie of the Year”, “Prospect of the Year”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, i više.

PHILADELPHIA – PA State junior middleweight champion Tyrone Brunson will be honored with three Briscoe Awards for the eventful year he had in 2017. During the year, Brunson’s efforts won him three bouts, two belts, and kept his career on track for a big fight in 2018. For these accomplishments, Brunson will take home three Briscoe Awards na March 25th– “Philly Fighter of the Year”, “Philly Borba godine”, i “Performance of the Year”. This will be the first time a fighter has won three Briscoes in a single year.
“ Danny Garcia , Steve Cunningham, Bryant Jennings and Tevin Farmer have all won two before, but Brunson will be the first guy to get three on the same day,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “Tyrone had a great year in 2017, so I’m happy for him. The voters got it right.”

Filadelfija, PA (Decembar 5, 2017) – Prošlog petka uveče Tyrone Brunson stopped Manny Woods to win the UBF International Junior Middleweight title after eight-rounds of a scheduled ten-round bout in front of a sold out crowd at the 2300 Arena.
The exciting 12-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.
Brunson of Philadelphia systematically broke down woods as he boxed well using a pinpoint jab over the first half of the fight. “Yea, it does not mean anything. It was my 3rd amateur fight. The sparring sessions were good. I treated them like I wanted to get some revenge for losing to him, and I am very confident after those sessions. This fight for me is about getting this belt . People will see me outwork him and outclass him.”
Brooker has made his name throughout the boxing circles with his willing to fight and defeat anybody at anytime. That is evidenced by his wins over Leo Hall, John Magda, Antowyan Aikens and Gabriel Pham. Brooker also stepped up to face Elbiali, Ronald Gavril and Ronald Ellis, and he became a favorite on national television because of his tough as nails style.

Filadelfija, PA (Novembar 27, 2017) – Junior Middleweight Tyrone Brunson is looking for a major opportunity in 2018.

Filadelfija, PA (Juli 13, 2017) – The scintillating Pennsylvania Junior Middleweight championship bout that took place on June 24th between former two-time world champion Kermit Cintron i Knockout umjetnik Tyrone Brunson will have at least four airings in Philadelphia area in the coming weeks.

Filadelfija, PA (Jun 25 2017) -In a fight that exceeded it’s high expectations, Tyrone Brunson came back from two 4th round knockdowns to come back in the very next round to send former two-time world champion Kermit Cintron to the canvas three times, and win the Pennsylvania State Junior Middleweight title via 5th round stoppage at the 2300 Arena u Južnoj Philadelphia.
The spectacular card was promoted by King’s Promotions.
“This was a tremendous fight, and all-around great card. Some fight’s and cards don’t live up to the expectations, but the main was one of the great fights of this year. I am proud of all the fighters who competed večeras, as they all brought their best, and it showed in quality of the fights,”said King’s Promotions CEO, Marshall Kauffman.
The fight was nip and tuck for the first three-plus rounds, as Cintron looked very sharp early as he landed some hard right hands in the opening frame. Brunson came back and had a strong round two. The fight was fought on event terms until round four, when Cintron
dropped Brunson with a perfectly timed left hand. Later in the round, Brunson went down from an accumulation of punches on the ropes, and as the fourth round was finished, Brunson seemed just about done as well.
Brunson miraculously came back in round five and turned the tables on the former champ, as he landed a beautiful left that sent Cintron to the canvas. Cintron, was hurt and theprodigious puncher, Brunson was ready to finish off Cintron. Cintron never regained his legs and was sent to the canvas two more times, and referee Shawn Clark waved off the bout at1:21.
Brunson is now 25-6-2 sa 23 nokauta. Cintron of Reading, PA falls to 39-6-3.

In the co-Feature, Victor Vazquez won a six-round unanimous decision over Anthony Burgin in a super lightweight bout.

Vazquez dropped Burgin in round two from body, and he took the hotly contested battle by scores of 58-55 dva puta i 57-56. Vazquez of Yonkers, NY je sada 8-3. Burgin of Philadelphia is now 10-4.

Steven Ortiz registered two knockdowns en-route to a thrilling six-round unanimous decision over Tyrome Jones in a battle of previously undefeated lightweights.
Ortiz scored knockdowns in rounds three and four in a bout where both guys landed some effective blows.
Ortiz of Philadelphia won by scores of 59-53 dva puta i 57-56 to remain perfect at 7-0. Jones of South Bend, IN is now 4-1.
Jerome Conquest won a six-round decision over Jae Ho Kim in a lightweight bout.
Conquest was dropped with a left hook at the end of round three, but he controlled the action, and won by scores of 59-55, 58-55, i 57-56, i sada 8-2. Kim of Philadelphia via South Korea is now 6-4-1.
Brandon Robinson dominated and took out Rafael Valencia at 2:48 of round two of their scheduled four round super middleweight bout.
Robinson landed a hard right that sent Valencia to the canvas. Valencia got up, but deemed unable to continue at 2:48.
Robinson of Philadelphia is 4-1 sa tri nokauta. Valencia of Medford, OR is 3-8-1.
Gregory Clark won a six-round unanimous decision over Daryl Bunting in a super middleweight bout.
Clark of Washington, DC won by scores of 59-55 dva puta i 58-56, i sada 3-1-1. Bunting of Asbury Park, NJ je 3-2-2.
Marcus Bates remained undefeated by winning a six-round unanimous decision over Roberto Pucheta in a bantamweight bout.
