Inn i Philadelphia, King’s Promotions presents a great night of championship boxing that will headlined by 10-round UBF Lightweight championship bout between Frankie De Alba (15-1-2, 5 KO: s) och Bernardo Gomez Uribe (14-3, 10 KO: s).
In one of the 8-round co-features, Steve Upsher Chambers (24-4-1, 6 KO: s) returns to the city where he cut his teeth as a professional to take on Alejandro Rodriguez (24-16-1, 14 KO: s) i en Jr. Weltervikt bout.
Chambers, who came originally to Philadelphia with former Heavyweight title challenger, “Snabb” Eddie Chambers, kämpade 23 times and the famed Blue Horizon in Philadelphia and will be making his first start in the City of Brotherly Love in almost 6 år.
“I have been training hard and working on opening my new gym with (lättvikts kandidat) Rod Salka,” said Upsher.
“I am on weight already and I feel good. We will be fighting at 142 pounds.”
Upsher is ready to show the fans how far his abilities have grown since he turned pro in Philadelphia in 2003 när han var bara 18 år gammal.
“I am happy to be coming back to Philadelphia. I want to show people how far I have come and see the improvement that I have made as a fighter.”
Despite losing his three bouts to the likes of former world champions Luis Collazo and Andre Berto as well as then-undefeated prospect Eddie Gomez, Upsher was competitive in all those bouts and grew tremendously from those experiences.
“It showed that I can compete against that level of fighter. Plus everyone of those guys was bigger than me. Jag är en naturlig 140 pounder and can make 135 if the right opportunity presented itself.”
Chambers went back to his native Pittsburgh to train in neighboring city Coal Center, PA.
“My mind is set on winning a world title at 140 pounds. After the three losses, I cant afford any missteps. People see about the losses. I know I have the ability to be a world champion and on Maj 29 that will start to show.”
On the veteran opponent, Rodriguez, Upsher said, “I know he is tough and from Mexico. I will look at a little film before the fight and go from there. I really don’t worry about what he will do. He should worry about me. This fight is redemption for me. It’s a start and then I would like to right all of the losses. But first I am looking for a dominant performance på fredag then I want to end all doubts.”

Philadelphia (Maj 13,2015)-–På fredag natt,Maj 29, boxing comes to the Stadium Holiday Inn (900 Packer Avenue) in Philadelphia where some of the best names in Philadelphia boxing will be featured on a card promoted by King’s Promotions.
I main event, Frank De Alba will compete for the UBF Lightweight title against Bernardo Gomez Uribe in a bout scheduled for 10-rounds.
De Alba of Reading, PA has won 13 straight fights to raise his impressive mark to 15-1-2 med fem knockouts.
Den 27 year-old De Alba has wins over Andrew Bentley (1-0) & Benjamin Burgos (1-0). He won the UBF All Americas Super Featherweight title with 5th round stoppage over Pablo Batres. He has made two defenses of the belt which includes his last outing when he won an 8-round unanimous decision over Jose Bustos on Februari 21.
Uribe of Guadalajara, Mexiko har ett register över 14-3 med 10 knockouts.
Den 25 year-old has won six in a row with the latest being a 7th round stoppage over Antonio Sanchez on April 19.

Gbenga has fought top competition such as Dean Francis, Ilunga Makubu, Andre Dirrell, current WBC Super Middleweight champion Badou Jack, Lennox Allen, Mark Issac, Travis Peterkin, Joe Smith Jr., Derrick Webster, Vyacheslav Shabranskyy, Trevor McCumby, Phillip Jackson Benson and in his last bout when he dropped an 8-round decision to Medzhid Bektemirov on April 18.
In a second co-feature, jr. weltervikt Steve Upsher will compete in an 8-round bout against Alejandro Rodriguez.
Upsher of Philadelphia has a record of 24-4-1 with six knockouts.

Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Philadelphia, PA (Maj 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Maj 22 i Corona, Kalifornien, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. ORANGE, Calif. (Maj 5, 2015) – Junior mellanvikt Brandon Adams (16-1, 12 Kos) is returning to a familiar situation. After coming up short in last year’s Boxcino finals and suffering the only loss of his career, the Los Angeles-native dropped down one weight class and fought his way back to the 10-round championship fight.

Dennis and Fedosov have electrified the crowds leading up to the tournament finals. They both showed off their freight train like power by knocking out their respective opponents in the Boxcino quarter and semifinals.

“I’ve been in Los Angeles for training camp, getting good sparring,” Donovan Dennissa. “Jag know Andrey will be ready, and so will I.”

“I’m glad that I’ve made it into the finals of this great tournament on ESPN,” Andrey Fedosov sa. “Jag‘m training very hard in Los Angeles and I’m confident that I will win the fight.”

“I’m looking forward to the Boxcino finals,” said Artie Pelullo, president of Banner Promotions. “The finals will be terrific with two exciting and compelling fights.”

Philadelphia, PA (Maj 4, 2015)— This past weekend in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fought in what was the most anticipated bout in a generation. Several big name fighters were in attendance, but the one who appealed most to the hundreds of thousands of fans who flocked Sin City for the fight was “Den sibiriska Rocky” Ruslan Provodnikov.
Provodnikov posed for hundreds of pictures and signed countless autographs. He also participated in “Radio Row” where he talked on a plethora radio stations from around the country.
Provodnikov was also spotted and recognized by “A-List” celebrities who actually asked to take their pictures with the Jr. Welterweight star at the HBO/Showtime pre-fight,red carpet party.

Two-time world champion Steve “USS” Cunningham signs with Al Haymon

Philadelphia (April 21, 2015)–Former two-time world cruiserweight champion and current Heavyweight contender, Steve “USS” Cunningham has signed with adviser Al Haymon.
Cunningham of Philadelphia is excited about the prospects for his future.
“I’m looking forward to working with Al, he’s a genius at what he does. I’ve been watching him for several years and seeing all that he accomplishes for his fighters but have always been on the outside looking in due to contractual obligations. It finally lined up to where we can work together and it’s going to great. I believe my best fights have yet to be seen,”Said Cunningham
Cunningham has a record of 28-7 med 13 knockouts. He won the IBF Cruiserweight championship when he traveled to Poland and defeated Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on May 26, 2007. He defended the title by stopping Marco Huck via 12th round stoppage in Bielfield, Germany on December 29, 2007. Cunningham became a two-time champion on June 5, 2010 when he stopped Troy Ross in five rounds.
Cunningham is coming off a controversial split decision defeat to Vyacheslav Glazkov on Mars 14 i Montreal.
Steve and his wife/manager Livvy will be honored denna fredag night at the 90th annual BWAA Awards dinner as they will receive the Bill Crawford Courage Award for their perseverance while their 9-year old daughter Kennedy went through a life saving heart transplant last December.
The awards dinner will take place at Capitale in New York City.

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (April 21, 2015)— John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Maj 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 KO: s).
Kampen kommer att ske på Fredag, Maj 22 i Corona, California and will live on ESPNFredag Night Fights.
Thompson is in Virginia, training under Kay Koroma and he is looking to win the prestigious tournament against Thompson in the 10-round bout at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, Kalifornien.
Thompson (16-1, 5 KO: s) is coming off a 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod on April 10 i Betlehem, PA.
“I outboxed the guy,” säger Thompson. I focused on what I needed to focus on and that was using my jab. I also focused on not to exchange and bang with him and I did a pretty good job of that.”
“As well as I fought, I do not think that was even my best win.”
Now he looks towards Adams. Adams of Los Angeles has experience in the Boxcino finals as his only loss was to Willie Monroe Jr. in last year’s Middleweight finals.
“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

Prize Promotions Tabs Russell Peltz and Brittany “Bam” Rogers for Matchmaking Duties

Danbury, CT (April 16, 2015)- At the beginning of April, newly licensed Connecticut boxing promoter A.J. Galante introduced his company, Pris Kampanjer. Galante spoke of his goal of bringing “Old School” boxing to Connecticut.

To prove he is serious about his vision, Galante has turned his matchmaking over to Hall of Fame Philadelphia promoter, Russell Peltz along with one of the sports youngest and most promising promoters and matchmakers, Brittany “BAM”

Rogers.

“Russell is the definition of Old School matchmaking, he’s one of the last out there, so it was a no brainer for me to reach out to him, and I am honored that he is willing to work with me.” Galante uppgav, “His resume speaks for itself, I am extremely confident that working together, we will put on spectacular shows” Galante was also extremely excited to work with Brittany “BAM” Rogers, who works in conjunction with Russell Peltz,

“I’m often referred to as one of the youngest boxing people on the business side of things, but BAM is actually younger than me, and has been in the sport longer than me. I have a lot of respect for her and have been learning a lot through working with her.”

Ultimately Galante said what cemented his choice on his matchmakers, was a trip to Philladelphia in October, to attend a show promoted by both Peltz and Rogers, “When you think Philly boxing, you think gritty and exciting, and you can’t think Philadelphia boxing without Russell Peltz and Brittany Rogers, and I am looking forward to bringing those types of shows and that environment here to Connecticut.” It won’t be long for Galante to fulfill his promise, as his first show Danbury Fight Night, will take place on30 maj på Danbury Arena, in his hometown of Danbury, CT.

Philadelphia (Mars 31, 2015)–Det är mindre än två veckor kvar till semifinal i Boxcino 2015 tungvikt och jr. mellanvikt turneringar som kommer att äga rum på fredag ​​kväll, 10 april och kommer att hållas på Sands Casino Resort i Betlehem, PA.

 

Showen kommer att sändas i TV live på ESPN: s Friday Night Fights med Boxcino semifinal slagsmål börjar vid 9 PM ET.

Philadelphia (Mars 17, 2015)–I efterdyningarna av hans IBF eliminering bout detta tidigare Lördag på Bell Centre i Montreal, tidigare mästare två-tiden cruiservärlden och nuvarande tunga utmanare Steve “USS” Cunningham wants to state his case to what the boxing world saw, och det är fel man hade sin hand upp.
