SLOAN, Iowa – January 17, 2020 - Three promising and undefeated Detroit prospects shined during ShoBox: The New Generation’s 250th episode Friday night with Russia native Vladimir Shishkin leading the way with a solid unanimous decision win in the main event Friday night from WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa.



With Tyson Fury’s trainer Sugarhill Steward from the famed Kronk Gym in Detroit working his corner, the 28-year-old fast-rising Shishkin (10-0, 6 KOs) won for the second consecutive time on ShoBox in a battle of unbeaten fighters as he dominated Ulises Sierra (15-1-2, 9 KOs) San Diego, Calif. The 10-round super middleweight bout was scored in favor of Shishkin 100-90 und 99-91 zweimal.



Also posting victories were Steward’s students Shohjahon Ergashev, who registered a first-round knockout, and Detroit native Ja’Rico O’Quinn who won unanimously in a dominating eight-round bantamweight bout.



“Ergashev was spectacular but you almost feel like you wish you got to see more,” said Hall of Famer and ShoBox Analyst Steve Farhood. “He’s the furthest advanced of the three and Ja’Rico O’Quinn sold himself tonight and was very aggressive, maybe too aggressive.”



Shishkin said afterwards that he fought with an injured left bicep and left elbow. “It was a much tougher fight than I thought it would be because I fought with one hand for most of the fight,"Er sagte. “I was surprised he could take my punches, but I couldn’t move his hand out of the way with the left to hit him with the right. That affected me a lot because I use that a lot.”

I’m very happy all-around.”



Sierra didn’t have an answer for Shishkin’s body shots as Shishkin connected on 65 body shots to 28 for Sierra. “He was sharp and he was strong,” said Sierra, who became the 189th boxer to lose his undefeated record on ShoBox in der 19 years of the series. “But I was also hurt with a sprained hand a month before this fight and haven’t hit the bags since then.”

“I just saw the window to the body, so I threw the shot,Sagte Ergashev, who is ranked in the top-15 in three of the four major sanctioning bodies. “I wasn’t planning to knock him out in the first round. I tried to stand up, but I couldn’t hear the referee counting. I couldn’t hear anything, and I couldn’t move. It was a hell of a shot.”

“I give this performance a six, ehrlich gesagt,” said O’Quinn. “I want to fight bigger and taller people, that’s what I’m used to. I’m not taking anything away from Oscar. No matter what I will always come out on top. Even when things can get ugly, I know how to win beautiful.”



Farhood called the bout a “highly competitive, one-sided fight.”



Added O’Quinn: “I went into this fight knowing Oscar Vasquez was a tough guy. I knew he would be coming forward to make it ugly, so my game plan was to box him but if I had to, stand there and trade with him. I knew I’d be stronger than him and be able to take his punch. It was hard to land my shots with him leaning on me. I couldn’t turn him like I wanted and cut off angles, but we came, we conquered and I got the win.”



O'Quinn, who overcame a slow start losing the first round, ended round seven emphatically with a series of punches that rattled Vasquez, who stayed on his feet and didn’t give up. “I think I did amazing,” said Vasquez, a 32-year-old crane operator. “It was a very close fight. I thought I was winning the first five rounds. He hurt me once in the seventh round and that took a lot out of me. He was a better fighter tonight.”

The son of former San Diego Padres pitcher Ulises “Candy” Sierra, he has sparred with future Hall of Famers Andre Ward and Canelo Alvarez and former world champion Peter Quillin. Prior to Sierra’s career-best win in April, he won four straight contests in Mexico, darunter drei durch KO.



“I’m happy for the opportunity to face a good opponent and I’ll use him as a steppingstone to get where I want to get,” said Sierra. “I still have a month of preparation to get into the best shape of my life. I know Shishkin is undefeated and has a Russian amateur pedigree. It’ll be the hardest fight of my career, but I will do anything and everything to come out victorious.”

The 24-year-old O’Quinn is rated No. 10 in the world by the WBO. Ranked as the No.1 amateur bantamweight in the country compiling a record of 130-18 bevor Sie Profi in 2015, O’Quinn boasts blazing-fast hands and an ability to throw effortless combinations. A fan favorite in his hometown of Detroit, he was last seen winning a unanimous decision over James Smith of Flint, Mich., im Oktober.

Die Hauptattraktion des Abends entspricht dem weltberühmten Oscar „El Chapito“ Vasquez (15-1) gegen Ricardo "El Niño" Sandoval (12-1) in einer Acht-Runde, Superfliegengewicht Schlacht. Eine spektakuläre Karte ergänzt das Hauptereignis.

 

 

 

Unbesiegter Schwergewichts-Prospekt und Knockout-Maschine, Frank "Freedom Fighter" Sanchez (5-0, 5 KOs), wurde der Karte vom 4. Mai hinzugefügt. October 18th, RENO — Let’s Get It On Promotions and the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa are pleased to announce an exciting night of world-class professional boxing Samstag, 17. November, 2017 im Reno / Sparks Convention Center. The card will be co-headlined by lightweight sensation Gabriel Flores Jr., and Reno’s own Oscar Vasquez in separate bouts.

 

The youngest-ever Top Rank Inc. signed fighter, Gabe Flores Jr. (4-0, 3KOs) is on a meteoric rise in the fight game. The Stockton, CA seventeen-year-old manages to fight as he is completing high school. For the third time he will fight in Northern Nevada, where he regularly draws hundreds from his hometown. Flores will fight in a four-round lightweight bout.

 

Reno’s own Oscar Vasquez (14-1) is coming off an impressive ten-round unanimous decision victory this August in Fallon against the tough Javier Gallo. Vasquez is currently ranked fifteenth in the world in the flyweight division by the World Boxing Organization. Vasquez will be fighting Victory Ruiz (22-7) in a ten-round fight.

 

Ricardo Lucio Galvan, also from Reno, will be making his pro debut on 17. November. Galvan, a second-year business major at UNR, is also a Dreamer. He is enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) and hopes he can use his boxing career to bring awareness to the issue. He is an experience amateur with nearly eighty bouts. Galvan will be fighting in a four-round jr. lightweight bout.

 

Carson City’s Diego Elizondo (1-0) will be returning to the ring on 17. November after beating Chandler Clements via unanimous decision in Fallon in August. Elizondo attributes his toughness to his Basque and Mexican heritage. He will be fighting in a four-round lightweight bout.

 

Super flyweight Bruno Escalante (14-3-1) of Redwood City, CA is slated to fight in a six-round bout in Reno. Escalante is trying to get his world title run back on track after some recent bumps in the road. Born in Cebu City, Philippinen, Escalante is one of a handful of young Filipino boxers who are carrying the torch for Pinoy boxing. Escalante will be fighting the tough Alex Rangel (17-7).

14. AUGUST, RENO — Der Fallon Rural Rumble lieferte in seiner zehnten Folge erneut eine Nacht sensationellen Weltklasse-Profiboxens am Samstag Nacht.

 

In seinem ersten Zehn-Runden-Kampf, Der aus Reno stammende und weltbeste Fliegengewichtler Oscar „Chapito“ Vasquez erzielte beim Hauptereignis des Abends einen beeindruckenden einstimmigen Entscheidungssieg gegen Javier Gallo. Vasquez verbessert sich zu 14-1.

 

In der Co-Main, Stockton, CA Sensation Gabriel Flores Jr.. erzielte einen einstimmigen Entscheidungssieg gegen den harten Jorge Padron aus Mexiko. Flores verbessert sich zu 3-0 (2 KOs).

 

Diego Elizondo aus Carson City erzielte bei seinem Pro-Debüt auch einen UD-Sieg gegen Chandler Clements.

 

Sacramentos Pedro Moreno verbessert sich auf 7-0 (5 KOs) mit einem beeindruckenden TKO-Sieg in der zweiten Runde gegen Curtis Morton.

 

In der Eröffnungsrede Kampf, Quilisto "Kilo the Kid" Madera von Stockton CA mit einer sensationellen zweiten Runde, One-Shot-KO-Sieg gegen Austin Marcum. Madera verbessert sich zu 7-0 (4 KOs).

13. Juni, RENO — Vor einer Menschenmenge im Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa, Reno, Fliegengewicht Oscar Vasquez feierte einstimmig einen Sieg gegen den Mexikaner Javier Lapizco. Alle drei Richter erzielten den Kampf 80-72. Vasquez hatte von der Eröffnungsglocke an die Kontrolle über den Kampf, musste jedoch während des gesamten Kampfes mehrere intensive Gespräche mit dem Spiel Lapizco führen. Vasquez geht zu 10-1, Lapizco zu 7-4.

 

Oskars jüngerer Bruder Santos erzielte in der zweiten Runde einen TKO gegen Nestor Hernandez in einem Jr.. Fliegengewicht Kampf. Santos hatte Hernandez in der ersten Runde unten, indem er einen linken Haken landete, der perfekt landete. In der zweiten Runde landete er weiter und setzte Hernandez erneut ab. Nach einem dritten Niederschlag, Schiedsrichter Vic Drakulich forderte eine Unterbrechung des Wettbewerbs. Vasquez geht zu 2-2, Hernandez zu 0-2.

 

Auch am Samstag Karte, Renos Alec McGee war bei seinem professionellen Debüt gegen den harten Mulapi Enjani durch einstimmige Entscheidung in einem Vier-Runden-Kampf im Federgewicht erfolgreich. Der aggressive Enjani hatte seine Momente, aber McGees Boxfähigkeit erwies sich als überlegen. Enjani geht zu 2-2-2.

 

Der sensationelle Eröffnungskampf brachte die Superfedergewichte Derick Bartlemay und Matt Murphy in einem Vier-Runden-Kampf gegeneinander an. Die Nonstop-Action ähnelte der letzten Kampfsequenz in einem Rocky-Film und führte letztendlich zu einem Unentschieden.

 

In einem Vier-Runden-Kampf im Superfedergewicht, Rafael Busuioc erzielte in einem energiegeladenen Kampf einen einstimmigen Entscheidungssieg gegen Jose Luis Gallegos.

Kenny Davis jr. wird gegen Jose Luis Gallegos von Bakersfield kämpfen, CA in einem Vier-Runden-Kampf im Federgewicht.

 

In einem Vier-Runden-Junior-Leichtgewicht-Wettbewerb, Sacramentos Rafael Busuioe trifft auf Kevin Davila aus Seattle.

MAY 18th, RENO — Let’s Get It On Promotions and the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa are pleased to announce an evening of world-class professional boxing on Samstag, June 11th, 2016 in Atlantis’ Paradise Ballroom. The evening’s main event will feature is local Reno favorite Oscar Vasquez (9-1). Vasquez, a popular local flyweight, will be featured in an eight-round bout.

 

Vasquez, who recently entered into a long-term promotional agreement with Let’s Get It On Promotions, looks to continue his campaign towards world title contention. In seinem letzten Kampf, Vasquez scored a sensational knockout win over Jose Toribio in Fallon, NV.

25. August, RENO, — Fliegengewicht Oscar "Marquee" Vasquez (9-1 2 KOs) verdiente sich seinen neunten Sieg durch Anhalten von San Diego Jose Toribio (6-2) Samstag Nacht in Fallon, NV.

 

The scheduled eight-round contest was action packed from the opening bell with both fighters having their moments. Vasquez’s stuck to boxing while Toribio pushed the action. As the bout moved to the final rounds, Toribio began to land more punches than he had been able to in previous rounds.
