Morrison (15-7-0, M-1: 2-4-0) and Rettinghouse (13-4-0, M-1: 1-0-0) are both fighting out of the state of Washington.
Morrison faces undefeated Russian prospect Moysar Evoloev (5-0-0, M-1: 5-0-0) in a fight contested at a 140-pounds (63.5 quilograms) catchweight. Morrison is a grappler (see photo below with him in top position) who defeated current M-1 Challenge bantamweight title-holder Pavel Vitruk per decisió a M-1 Desafiament 58.

Abdusalamov has won four fights in a row, including his last 13 months ago against American Llegeix Morrison, which ended in a 3-round majority decision for the Russian fighter before he was sidelined with injuries.

Ingúixia, Rússia (Octubre 22, 2016) – Antic campió de pes semipesat M-1 Challenge en dues ocasions Viktor Nemkov es va posar en posició per a un altre tir al títol i Pavel Vitruk es va convertir en el primer campió de pes gallo M-1 Challenge a l'entreteniment d'ahir a la nit M-1 Desafiament 71 a Ingúixia, Rússia.
Kazakhstan-nativa Nemkov (24-6-0, M-1: 17-5-0), lluitant fora de Stary Oskol, Rússia, va guanyar una decisió unànime de tres rondes de l'antic campió de Bellator Àtila “Gireu-vos” Vegh(29-8-2, M-1: 0-2-0), d'Eslovàquia, en l'esdeveniment principal.
Nemkov (L) tenia massa per a Vegh
Lluitant al campionat inaugural de pes gallo M-1 Challenge, Caça rus Vitruk (14-2-0, M-1: 8-2-0) derrotat Vitali Branchuk (21-6-0, M-1: 1-2-0), d'Ucraïna, mitjançant una presentació de quarta ronda.

Welter de Rússia Serguei Romanov (9-1-0, M-1: 3-0-0) va prendre una decisió unànime a tres rondes Carles Alexandre “Indi” Pera (37-11-1, M-1: 1-1-0), del Brasil, mentre que campió de pes lleuger M-1 Challenge Alexander Butenko (42-11-2, M-1: 9-1-0) enemic brasiler decidit Rubenilton “Rubinkho” Pera (16-3-0, M-1: 0-1-0) en una lluita sense títol disputada amb un pes captura de 160 lliures.
Antic pes lleuger M-1 Challenge Stephan “T-800” Puetz (15-2-0, M-1: 5-1-0), d'Alemanya, també es va posar en posició per a una altra lluita pel títol, possiblement contra el seu archirival Nemkov, forçant el brasiler Marc Vinicius “Muntanya” Lopes (9-2-0, M-1: 1-1-0) a la submissió mitjançant un estrany posterior nu a la tercera ronda.
