LOS ANGELES (Maig 31, 2018) – Campió del món de pes superwelter invicte Jermell Charlo ha arribat a Los Angeles abans del seu pròxim enfrontament dissabte, Juny 9 en directe a SHOWTIME contra l'antic campió Austin truita com a part de l'acció del STAPLES Center de Los Angeles en un acte presentat per Premier Boxing Champions.

 

 

 

El SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING éssers de retransmissió a 10 p.m. ET/PT i està encapçalat per la represa del campionat mundial de pes ploma entre Leo Santa Creu i Abner Mars.

Quan falta poc més d'una setmana per a la nit de la baralla, Charlo va realitzar un entrenament de mitjans amb la premsa de la zona de Los Angeles dijous al gimnàs de boxa Gloveworx a Century City.

“Estic llest per anar. Estic ben preparat. Fa aproximadament que estic al camp d'entrenament 10 setmanalment. Quan em vau veure abans, No estava tan construït, però ara estic preparat i estic emocionat. Puc enfrontar-me a qualsevol home d'aquesta divisió.

 

 

 

“El camp d'entrenament va ser genial. Vam tenir el campió del món Errol Spence Jr. al campament i una colla de lluitadors invictes. Vaig parar uns quants, va deixar caure uns quants, però aquest no és el nom del joc. Tot es tracta d'entrenar i fer la feina per estar preparat per al juny 9.

 

 

 

“Trout és un lluitador veterà, però no crec que es quedi a la butxaca i intentarà lluitar contra mi. No crec que hi hagi un sol lluitador en aquesta divisió de pes que intenti fer-ho, ni tan sols [Jarrett] Hurd. Si Trout ho prova, la nit s'acabarà ràpid.

 

 

 

“Definitivament estic creixent com a lluitador i com a home. Si la truita vol pegar, peguem. No m'importa què tingui Barry Hunter o què faci, no serà capaç de vèncer a mi i a Derrick James. No crec necessàriament que Trout sigui tan dur com jo, així que si no pot millorar les habilitats i igualar la meva habilitat, no em guanyarà aquella nit.

 

 

 

“La lluita Lara-Hurd va ser una gran lluita. Hurd va fer el que havia de fer, però sóc un lluitador completament diferent de l'Erislandy Lara. No sóc aquí per perdre cops. No dic que Lara no hagi fet una gran feina, però sí que crec que el seu condicionament no hi era.. He centrat tota la meva vida en la formació. Estic solter, No tinc una família en la qual hagi de centrar-me com alguns d'aquests altres nois. Tot és boxa.

 

 

 

“Això és un doble capçalera. No sóc un esdeveniment co-principal ni un combat estrella destacat. Ho vaig fer fa anys. Quanta gent se'n va després de lluitar? Tothom va marxar després del [Erickson] Lluita de Lubin. Vaig a seguir fent el que faig. Definitivament vull titular per a vosaltres i fer-ho aquí al STAPLES Center i possiblement a Brooklyn. Prefereixo L.A. encara que, tot és gent agradable i palmeres. Això no ho tenen a Nova York.

 

 

 

“Tinc un gran equip darrere meu que no em permetrà distreure'm amb les llums brillants de L.A. No crec que estigui en la meva ment preocupar-me per res fora del ring. El meu objectiu és guanyar dissabte a la nit i després puc sortir del ring i passar-ho molt bé amb el meu germà.

 

 

 

“Estic intentant entrar i canviar algunes coses sobre la boxa. Crec que puc fer-ho realitat. Crec que cada boxejador hauria de tenir el seu propi dia mediàtic. [Lleó] Santa Cruz va tenir el seu propi dia dels mitjans. Abner [Mares] va tenir el seu propi dia mediàtic. Vaig tenir el meu propi dia dels mitjans. Si podem continuar aquesta tasca com a lluitadors, Crec que portarà un públic molt més gran a la boxa.

 

 

 

“No crec que cada vegada que el WBC s'acosti a una baralla ho faci només per jugar.. Aquest esport és seriós. Ens encantaria formar part d'una lluita GGG. Estem cansats de escoltar els mitjans de comunicació dir que hi posem els Charlos amb millor competència. Ho he sentit a cada baralla. Sempre que guanyi baralles i entretingui els aficionats, això és el que faré.

 

 

 

“Crec que definitivament podria lluitar 168. Podria seguir creixent a través de les divisions de pes. És fàcil.

 

 

 

“Em va emocionar molt el vídeo que ha sortit avui amb Gizzle. Em va sorprendre veure un artista sortir i produir una cançó com aquesta sobre els Charlos i encara va ser millor amb el vídeo dels nocauts que tenim el meu germà i jo..

“[Jermell] enfrontat amb Errol [Spence] ahir i tenia un aspecte fenomenal. Se sent molt bé. Crec que ell i Errol són molt semblants en el seu nivell de lluita. En aquest punt fa pes amb força facilitat, li va bé i sé que vol unir-se. Així, fins que això no passi no veig cap motiu perquè pugi de pes. Ara, amb Austin Trout ens enfrontem a un lluitador físic i una amenaça física per a tothom. Amb ell podria ser una lluita més fàcil o pot ser una lluita dura. Com sabem, Jermell és un lluitador fenomenal que és molt hàbil, així que no estic pensant en el que estan fent.. [Jermell] podria ser però jo no ho sóc.

 

 

 

“Austin Trout és un gran noi i és un gran boxejador. Fins i tot a una edat més gran, el seu conjunt d'habilitats és tan bo. Si penses en Floyd [Mayweather], fins i tot a una edat més gran guanyava a tots els que lluitava. Així, La meva manera de veure-ho és que tornarà amb més gana i ho veu com una oportunitat per aconseguir una nova lluita.

 

 

 

“Sempre vaig pensant que serà una lluita dura. No puc entrar-hi pensant-hi d'una altra manera. Si estigués pensant que seria fàcil, Seria un idiota i ara no estaria aquí. He de seguir esforçant-me per ser millor i aquests nois estaran preparats per a una lluita dura.

 

 

 

“Jermell sempre està pressionant per fer més i fer-ho millor. Sempre busca anar més enllà que entrenar. Si li dic que faci alguna cosa, ho fa i n'aprèn. És un gran estudiant. Crec que té molt cor i moltes ganes, i veureu que sortirà al juny 9º.”

LOS ANGELES (Maig 31, 2018) – La targeta inferior per a l'esdeveniment principal del campionat mundial de pes ploma entre Leo Santa Creu i Abner Mars comptarà amb invicte 2016 U.S. Olímpic Karlos Balderas en una lluita de sis rondes súper ploma contra els de Mèxic Pedro López i un enfrontament de pes welter en pits Ivan Redkach contra Brian Jones Dissabte, Juny 9 a l'Staples Center de Los Angeles.

Completa la nit els invictes Oak Hills, Califòrnia. perspectiva Jerry Pérez assumint la de Louisiana Josh Ross en acció lleugera júnior, invicte Arnold Alejandro en un partit de quatre lleugers, invicte Àngel Alejandro en quatre rondes d'acció de pes ploma, i d'Ucraïna Viktor Slavinski en un partit de pes lleuger juvenil contra un nadiu de Texas Carlos Trevino.

 

 

 

El jove de 22 anys Balderes (4-0, 3 KOs), un mexicà-nord-americà de primera generació, va competir als EUA. Equip olímpic de boxa al 2016 Jocs a Rio de Janeiro, Brasil abans de convertir-se en professional a l'abril 2017. En representació de Santa Maria, Qualif., Balderas va anotar aturades en les seves tres primeres baralles abans de guanyar una decisió unànime sobre Jorge Rojas Zacazontetl al febrer.. S'enfrontarà al jove de 26 anys López (7-3-1, 3 KOs) que lluita fora de Tijuana, Mèxic i va anotar un nocaut sobre Dario Medina en la seva última sortida.

 

 

 

Originari d'Ucraïna però lluitant fora de Los Angeles, REDK (20-4-1, 16 KOs) va estar en una de les baralles curtes més emocionants de 2017 quan va participar en un combat d'anada i tornada contra John Molina Jr. que contenia el drama de la majoria 12 baralles rodones condensades en només quatre. Redkach va poder abandonar Molina abans de sucumbir davant el veterà i el jugador de 32 anys buscarà recuperar-se contra el nadiu de Los Angeles. Jones (14-8, 8 KOs), les últimes quatre victòries han arribat per aturada.

LOS ANGELES (Maig 30, 2018) – El primer Leo Santa Cruz vs. Enfrontament Abner Mares, un candidat per “Baralla de l'Any” a 2015, va ser una dura lluita entre la ciutat de Los Angeles per la supremacia a la divisió de pes ploma guanyada per Santa Cruz mitjançant una decisió majoritària de 12 rondes al STAPLES Center l'agost. 29.

 

 

 

Aquesta festa natural de la ciutat natal del sud de Califòrnia va produir una forta porta en viu per acompanyar un pic 1.641 milions d'espectadors a ESPN, els seus números més forts des de llavors 1998. El ferotge, Una guerra sagnant va deixar Mares sense complir fins que la seva tan esperada represa es va poder fer realitat tres anys després.. Una forta amargor portada de molts anys abans va estar en plena vigència durant l'acumulació prèvia a la lluita entre els antics socis de sparring i els antics campions del món Mando Ramos i Raul Rojas.. Aquests lluitadors de la zona del port van jugar obertament a jocs mentals entre ells i van llançar insults personals odiosos d'anada i tornada per obtenir un avantatge psicològic.. En aquesta cruïlla crucial lluita per tots dos, Ramos, de Long Beach, es va fer creure que les Rojas de San Pedro no estava en forma. Ramos va procedir a prendre-s'ho amb calma i va costar durant el camp d'entrenament. Quan es va córrer la veu que Rojas estava en plena forma, a Ramos se li va ocórrer que l'havien tingut. Encara, Ramos va reunir prou salva per noquejar a Rojas en sis rondes el desembre 10, 1970 a l'Auditori Olímpic.

 

 

 

Ramos va ajudar a escriure un altre capítol de la història de la boxa a la zona com l'esperat partit de rancor entre dues icones populars chicanes., Ramos i Ruben Navarro, també va enfrontar els barris de Harbour vs. Maravilla l'un contra l'altre. Els dos lluitadors, que feia tres anys que es parlaven entre ells, finalment va acordar reunir-se al ring per reclamar drets exclusius de presumir pel títol de “millor pes lleuger de la ciutat.” L'excampió mundial de pes lleuger Ramos va prendre una decisió unànime de 10 rondes sobre el màxim contendent Navarro., “El nen meravellós” de East L.A., a l'Auditori Olímpic el setembre 30, 1971.

 

 

 

En un dels partits de somni més esperats de la història de la boxa de Los Angeles, “Escolar” Bobby Chacon, de Sylmar, va noquejar en Danny “Little Xarxa” López, de l'Alhambra, a la novena ronda per guanyar el mític “Campionat de pes ploma de la ciutat.” Chacon va estar tota la nit a la seva timonera, balancejant López repetidament amb la mà dreta durant tota la lluita. Aquest enfrontament d'estrelles locals en ascens a la divisió de pes ploma, promogut per Aileen Eaton i el Olympic Boxing Club, va passar davant d'una multitud exhaurida 16,027 al Los Angeles Sports Arena el maig 24, 1974. La lluita va produir tant interès que una altra 2,671 els aficionats van veure la televisió en circuit tancat a l'Auditori Olímpic, situat a la cantonada del 18 & Grand al centre de Los Angeles. Steve Springer de la Los Angeles Times va escriure en 1995 sobre la lluita com a vara de mesurar la passió dels aficionats a la boxa a la zona, dir “hauríeu de tornar a Chacon-López per trobar tanta emoció per a un parell de lluitadors de Los Angeles.”

 

 

 

Va ser la primera vegada a la història de la boxa que dos graduats universitaris lluitaven pel títol mundial quan el campió de pes welter del CMB Carlos Palomino., de Westminster, va defensar amb èxit el seu títol contra Armando Muniz, de Montebello, per nocaut tècnic de la 15a ronda a l'Auditori Olímpic el gener 21, 1977. Molts escriptors locals de boxa van anomenar aquesta derrota, guerra d'arrossegament, la “Baralla de l'Any”, i a la represa celebrada al maig 27, 1978 al mateix lloc, Palomino va tornar a aturar Muniz, aquesta vegada per decisió unànime de 15 rondes.

 

 

 

Santa Cruz i Mares van créixer junts a la mateixa escena de boxa del sud de Califòrnia. Tots dos van aparèixer en moltes de les mateixes cartes de boxa, i Santa Cruz fins i tot va agafar un cinturó de pes gallo de la FIB deixat lliure per Mares. Ara, per a aquests dos guerrers mexicans amb estadístiques de boxa gairebé idèntiques, el camí cap a la grandesa els porta a tots dos una vegada més al STAPLES Center per a una altra sensacional guerra d'anells.

 

 

 

Vine a la nit de lluita del juny 9, 2018, el món de la boxa tindrà un altre joc clàssic de Los Angeles entre dos guerrers mexicans certificats. Aquest combat realment promet ser el següent capítol escrit en la llarga història d'emocionants batalles entre ciutats de Los Angeles. LOS ANGELES (Maig 29, 2018) – Quatre vegades campió del món Abner Mars va participar en dos grans esdeveniments durant el cap de setmana del Memorial Day, primer organitzant un Community Day al L.A. Gimnàs de boxa del segle del xèrif del comtat el dijous, i després llançant el primer llançament als Dodgers de Los Angeles’ partit de diumenge a la tarda.

 

 

 

Mares s'està preparant per a una represa del campionat mundial contra el titular del pes ploma Leo Santa Creu Dissabte, Juny 9 en directe a SHOWTIME del STAPLES Center de Los Angeles en un esdeveniment presentat per Premier Boxing Champions.

 

 

 

Dijous, Mares es va unir al periodista esportiu guanyador del premi EMMY Jim Gray, President i conseller delegat de Ringstar Sports Richard Schaefer i Mares’ entrenador de força i condicionament Luis García, tal com parlava el grup 150 nens de set a 19 sobre les seves carreres i com es construeixen els campions a Los Angeles.

 

 

 

“La boxa és un esport disciplinat i dedicat,” aquests Mars. “Els Sheriffs ho saben amb treball dur, dedicació i disciplina, pots aconseguir-ho a la vida.

 

 

 

“Creus que en boxa un rècord perfecte ho és tot? No ho és. Quan perds saps què et fa un millor campió? Aixecar-se, i tornar a ser campió. Aixecar-se cada cop i no deixar de fumar. Això és el que fa un veritable campió.”

 

 

 

El diumenge, Mares va ser al Dodgers Stadium per llançar el primer llançament cerimonial com a part de Viva Los Dodgers, la sèrie mensual a l'estadi que celebra la cultura llatina. Amb la setmana de lluita a la volta de la cantonada, Mares va poder gaudir de l'esdeveniment amb el seu enfocament encara en el seu enfrontament amb el rival Santa Cruz.

 

 

 

“Sempre és fantàstic poder participar en esdeveniments com aquests que arriben directament a la gent de la meva comunitat,” aquests Mars. “Estic agraït als Dodgers per l'oportunitat i em vaig passar molt bé diumenge. “I feel great right now. I’m strong and in really good spirits. I feel like I’m going to be peaking at the right time. I’m on weight and on track for fight night.

“We know that this isn’t going to be an easy fight. But the way that Abner has been training and the way that he follows instructions, it’s going to make a big difference in his performance June 9 compared to the first fight.

 

 

 

“I was at the first fight and I thought that Abner looked for big single punches too much and fought too rough of a fight. He made it harder on himself. It was still a very close fight despite that.

 

 

 

“With a little more speed and by fighting smart going in and out, Abner could make a huge leap in his performance this time out. We know we have to look to throw combinations and break Leo down.

 

 

 

“We’ve been getting sparring partners that are a little taller and throw a lot of punches and the results have been great. Abner just has to be in shape to 12 rondes, because Leo is a fighter that finishes as strong as he starts. We can’t perform for eight rounds and then tire out because there’s a chance Leo comes on strong and puts us in trouble.”

The Premier Boxing Champions event is headlined by WBA Super World Featherweight World Champion Leo Santa Creu battling WBA Regular Featherweight World Champion Abner Mars in an anticipated world title rematch.

Super welterweight is one of the deepest and most ferociously contested divisions in boxing with unified champion Jarrett Hurd and Charlo on a collision course for supremacy in the weight class. Virtually all of the most significant fights in the division are taking place in 2018 per SHOWTIME, with the three consensus best fighters, and at least five of the consensus top-10, facing off in what has become an unofficial tournament.

 

 

 

 

Charlo (30-0, 15 KOs) has blasted his way to the top of the division, having stopped four of his last opponents by knockout. The 27-year-old from Houston won the title with a knockout victory over John Jackson in 2016. Since then he has successfully defended it twice, including scoring a devastating first round knockout victory over top contender Erickson Lubin in his last fight in October and a Knockout of the Year contender against Charles Hatley in April. Charlo and his twin brother, Jermall, were the only twin brothers to hold world titles in the same weight class simultaneously before Jermall relinquished his 154-pound championship to campaign at 160 lliura.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Trout is no journeyman. He’s a former world champion, someone who has a name and he comes to fight. The name means he’s worthy of another title challenge,” Said Charlo. “Trout is the man that has been chosen for me and I have to take care of him. The 32-year-old Trout (31-4, 17 KOs) is one of most accomplished boxers in the 154-pound division, having stepped into the ring against champions like Miguel Cotto, Saül “Canelo” Alvarez, Erislandy Lara, Jermall Charlo and Jarrett Hurd. Representing Las Cruces, Nou Mèxic, he won the super welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Rigoberto Alvarez in 2011. He successfully defended the title four times, including a victory over Cotto, before losing the championship to Alvarez in 2013 and a decision to Lara eight months later.

 

 

 

 

After winning four straight, Trout stepped in for a world championship against Jermall Charlo but lost a close unanimous decision in 2016, although he is the only person to go the distance with Jermall since 2015. Last October he took on Hurd for the title, but lost via 10º TKO rodó – the first time in his career that he’d ever been stopped. Trout is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Juan De Angel on Feb. 17.

“It was a really close fight the first time. Before the fight, I told him I would give him the rematch, just like I would have wanted if I lost. Now is the time and I think this fight is going to be even better than the first fight. Mares will be better with Robert Garcia. He has many champions and I’ve seen the improvement. “This fight is dedicated to my dad as he battles cancer. The only way I can pay him back or try to lift his spirits is to train hard in the gym and give him this win. If he sees me not giving up, I think it will give him the courage to keep fighting his battle.

Santa Creu (33-1-1, 18 KOs) i Mares (30-2-1, 15 KOs) first met in August 2015 at STAPLES Center and went toe-to-toe for 12 fast-paced rounds, with Santa Cruz eventually earning the majority decision and a vacant featherweight title. Ara, Santa Cruz will put his WBA Super World Featherweight Title on the line against the WBA Regular Featherweight World Champion Mares.

The popular Mexican-American Santa Creu fights out of Los Angeles and most recently stopped Chris Avalos in October 2017 after a pair of high stakes showdowns against Irish star and two-division world champion Carl Frampton. While Santa Cruz lost a close majority decision in their first matchup, he bounced back in January 2017 to defeat Frampton by majority decision and regain his 126-pound title. Mares most recently scored a technical decision over Andres Gutierrez in October 2017. A Mexican Olympian in 2004, the 32-year-old won his first title in 2011 when he beat Joseph Agbeko to capture the bantamweight crown. He continued to rise in the pound-for-pound list with victories over Anselmo Moreno and DanielPonce De Leon to win world titles at super bantamweight and featherweight. El juny 9 bout will be Mares’ third contest with World Champion trainer Robert Garcia, who helped Mares to a title-winning victory in their first fight together.
