“The Homecoming” to be headlined by phenom Marco “El Tiburón” Romero on Sept. 6 in Olathe, Kanzasas

(Liepa 29, 2025) - Nineteen-year-old boxing phenom Marco “El Tiburón” Romero (9-0, 8 Kos) will make his hometown debut as a professional on September 6, headlining “The Homecoming” Pro-Am card, presented by Turner Boxing Academy, at Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Olathe, Kansas.“The Homecoming” is a fundraiser for the Turner Boxing Academy, owned and operated by boxing legend John Brown, in Kansas City, Kanzasas. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Safe Kids Johnson County. “This will be a special event celebrating the 20oji anniversary of the Turner Boxing Academy,” explained Turner, who is Romero’s manager/head trainer. It’s a tough homecoming fight for Marco.”

The primary sponsor of this event is McCarthy Auto Group. “I’m elated to support the Turner Boxing Academy’s 20th anniversary event,” McCarthy Auto Group founder and owner Jonas McCarthy komentavo. “This is clearly a reputable organization and non-profit. Romero was a 23-time national amateur champion, highlighted by gold medal performances in the 2024 USA National Championships and National Golden Gloves Tournament, for which he was selected as the “Golden Boy” Award winner as the Most Outstanding Boxer.

He is matched against Javier Dario Aragon (7-1-1, 3 Kos), fighting out of Denver by way of Mexico, in the 8-round main event.

“Fighting at home means so much to me,” Romero said about fighting in Olathe. “It’s giving me that extra motivation and drive to work hard every single day in the gym. I’m ready to give my people from KC and Olathe a show.”

For the first time in 2025, charismatic super flyweight contenderJohn “Scrappy” Ramirez (15-1, 9 Kos) returned to the ring on last Saturday’s DAZN Pay-Per-View event, presented by MVP Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, and headlined by YouTuber turned boxerDžeikas „Probleminis vaikas“ Paulas(12-1, 7 Kos) priešJulio Cesar Chavez, Jaunesnysis. (54-7-1, 34 Kos) at Honda Center in Anaheim, Kalifornija.

Henderson pulled out of the fight last Wednesday night, Morales accepted the fight Thursday evening after the event’s final press conference.

“I trusted the process,” Ramirez explained. “It was emotional when my original opponent pulled out of the fight so late and I didn’t know if I’d be fighting. I’m happy I got the fight, even if I had to open the show, because I’ve learned to embrace the opportunity. I trained to fight a 5’ 2”, righty and fought a southpaw. I was comfortable, regardless, because I prepare at camp for anything that may happen. I wanted the fight and gave him (Moralesas) two passes on weight. He was coming in heavy; taip, we agreed to fight at a 120-pound catchweight. Before he stepped on the scale, he said he weighed 121.6. I didn’t want him to be fined for coming in overweight because he was doing me a favor by taking the fight. I respect him for taking the fight on late notice and we changed the contract to 121.6. Nothing changed for me other than the opponent and opening the preliminaries. Time is money, and I wanted everything I had done to count like camp (expenses), resources I used, mileage on my body. Everything happens for a reason. There are six months left in 2025, and my goal is to have two more fights.”

Fighting out of South Central Los Angeles, “Scrappy” hasn’t fought since last December 14th when he decisioned previously undefeatedEphraim Bui (10-0) iki keliasdešimt 97-93 triskart. CANASTOTA, NY – MARCH 18, 2024 – The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is pleased to announce that Hall of Famer “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya will attend the Banquet of Champions and other events planned for planned for the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend set for June 6-9.
“From Olympic gold to world titles in six divisions, Oscar De La Hoya captured the imagination of boxing fans around the world,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “We are very much looking forward to welcoming ‘The Golden Boy’ back to Canastota for the Hall of Fame’s 35th Anniversary celebration.”

De La Hoya capped a 223-5 (153 Kos) amateur career by capturing lightweight gold at the 1992 Olimpinės žaidynės. He turned pro the same year and captured his first world title – the WBO super featherweight – in only his 12th pro bout and would go on to win 10 world titles in six weight divisions.

Among the champions he defeated include Jorge Paez, John John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, "Ike" Quartey, Fernando Vargas,, Ricardo Mayorga and Hall of Famers Hector Camacho, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker and Arturo Gatti.

Ramirez, who recently signed an exclusive promotional contract withOskaras De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, was the first Mexican-born super middleweight World champion, and he is currently the No. 3 rated light heavyweight in the world, Pasaulio bokso asociacijos (WBA) ir Pasaulio bokso organizacijos (WBO). 

Although he won’t turn 30 until June 19, Ramirez has been fighting professionally for nearly 12 metų, and one of his goals is to become a World champion in two different weight classes.     The only member of the exclusive 50-0 Club to retire undefeated is Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jaunesnysis. in fifth place with 50.

    The four inactive boxers in the club – Chavez, Pep, Zarate, and Mayweather – are inducted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Etapas. (Lapkritis 19, 2018) – The late Emanuel Steward, arguably the greatest boxing trainer of all-time, is a member of the Class of 2018 getting inducted into the USA Boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame.

 

 

 

The second annual USA Boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame reception, held in conjunction with the 2018 USA Boxing Elite and Youth National Championships and Junior and Prep Open, Gruodis 2-8, will be held December 7, at the Radisson Hotel (215 S. Temple St.) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

 

 

 

Steward was a boxer, trainer extraordinaire, and HBO commentator until his untimely death in 2012 tuo metų amžiaus 68. His boxing career culminated with his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1996.

Emanuel Steward left his mark on earth, not only as a multi-faceted personality in boxing, but he’s also remembered for his magnanimous charity work in Detroit, in which he helped youths in their pursuit of education.

Legendinis bokso publicistas, murray Goodmanas (Bronksas) įtraukė sūnų į saldumynų mokslą, kai Bobui buvo tik aštuoneri metai. Likusi dalis Goodmanams buvo istorinė, kurie abu yra keliuose šlovės muziejuose, įskaitant Tarptautinę bokso šlovės muziejų.

Susipažinau ir susidraugavau su Joe Louis, Marcel Cerdan, Cukrus Ray Robinson, Rocky Graziano, Rocky Marciano ir tiek daug kitų. Aš stovėčiau stovyklose savaitėmis. Atsikėliau bėgti su boksininkais ir gavau galimybę pabūti šalia savo herojų. Taip pat susipažinau su bokso treneriais ir kitais bei vėliau gerbėjais. Aš pažinau visus. Mane auklėjo boksas, visas mano gyvenimas buvo boksas, 65 metų versle.”
Bobas yra, galbūt, geriausiai žinomas kaip Madisono aikštės sodo viceprezidentas ir piršlys (1985-1994), taip pat ketvirčio amžiaus eina bokso operacijų viceprezidento pareigas, Piršlys ir „Don King Productions“ viešųjų ryšių direktorius. Jis taip pat paaukštino daugelį pasaulio čempionų kaip savo įmonės prezidentą, Sodo valstybinis boksas.

Vienas iš mano laimėtų apdovanojimų, kuriuo labiausiai didžiuojuosi, yra Jamesas J. Walkerio atminimo apdovanojimas už ilgametį ir nusipelniusį darbą boksui (BWAA 1960).
“Man pasisekė, kad bokse peržengiau įvairias epochas. Tada tai buvo kitas pasaulis, mes turėjome 20-30 rašytojai savaites išbūna treniruočių stovyklose. Pažinau senų laikų boksininkus ir trenerius.”

Geras žmogus, kuris tarnavo JAV. Pakrančių apsauga nuo 1958-62, išlieka aktyvus šiandien dirbdamas su veteranais’ grupės. Jis yra Veimuto miestelio veteranų patariamosios tarybos prezidentas, taip pat aktyviai dirba su Amerikos legionu ir Garbės sargybos dalimi su Korėjos karo veteranų asociacija.

“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Pirmadienis Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tigras” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 PRO kovoja, įskirtinai 50 major world title fights.

His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” jis pasakė. “This is a great way to end my career.”
