SAN DIEGO, CALIF.- Mai 7, 2016 – Anthony Crolla scored a stunning 7th round stoppage over Ismael Barroso to retain his WBA Lightweight title at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, Anglia.
The bout headlined a seven bout telecast on AWE.

Barroso raced out and set a fast pace over the first four rounds. Crolla was biding his time landing some good shots on the the middle of the ring and he started to take over on a fading Barroso towards the end of round five. In round six, Crolla began to hurt Barroso and the Venezuelan challenger started to break down and seemed spent as he walked to his corner. Crolla jumped on Barroso and landed a tremendous flurry of punches that put Barroso on the canvas for the ten count.

It was the second straight stunning knockout for Crolla on AWE–A Wealth of Entertainment as he won his title with a knockout over Darleys Perez in November.

Crolla is now 31-4-3 cu 13 knockout. Barroso is 19-1-2.

Singleton looked like he was going to make it a quick and easy night as he dropped Anwar in round one from a left hook. Anwar was able to steady himself and have success over the next handful of rounds by getting in some good right hands. With the fight being on an even level, Singleton landed a big left that sent Anwar down in round eight. Anwar was clearly hurt, and Singleton jumped all over him and the fight was quickly stopped at 1:37 of round right.

Singleton is now 23-1 cu opt knock-out. Anwar is 22-6.

Martin Murray tuned up for a Iunie 25 showdown with George Groves by stopping an overmatched Cedric Spera in a scheduled 8-round Super Middleweight bout.

Murray dropped Spera with a left to the body in round two and finished him off with hard right that sent Spera down and out at 1:47 de runda a doua.

Marcus Morrison scored a 2nd round stoppage over Jefferson De Souza in a scheduled 10-round Jr. Mijlocie meci.

Burton is now 16-0. Ludwiczak is 13-4.

Tommy Coyle (22-3) won a decision over Reynaldo Mora (7-13-1) in a super lightweight bout via referee score of 59-55.

Barroso and Camp Offer Sincere Respect for ‘Future Former Champion’ Crolla

Anthony Crolla defends the WBA Lightweight title on Saturday, Mai 7 against Ismael Barroso LIVE on AWE–O avere de divertisment

Canada’s Tony Luis Disappointed in Scoring of Controversial Loss, but Vows to Keep Fighting for his Goals!

Canadian lightweight Tony “Fulger” Luis (19-3, 7 KO) says he’s disappointed with the scoring of his controversial unanimous-decision loss last weekend to Derry Mathews (38-9-2, 20 KO) for the interim WBA Lightweight title in Matthews’ hometown of Liverpool, Anglia, but won’t let it deter him from his goals.

Despite taking the fight on three days’ observa, Luis seemed to outwork Matthews in most rounds and would probably be wearing a championship belt today, had the fight been contested on neutral ground. But taking it on three days’ observa, we knew we’d have to shake off the jetlag quickly. My game plan was good, but on such short notice, it wasn’t muscle memory. I had to keep thinking about it in the ring. That’s why I think it took me three rounds to get going. Despite all this, I still won the fight. Luis’ promotor, Greg Cohen de Greg Cohen Promoții, says he’s pleased with his fighter’s strong performance and will immediately go to work for the 27-year-old.

The finalized undercard has been announced for Vineri (Aprilie 17) “Campionatul de box pe CBS Sports Network” event being held at the Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley, Minnesota, and presented by Greg Cohen Promotions in association with Adam Wilcock’s Fight Card Promotions and produced by David Schuster’s Winner Take All Productions.

Topping the night’s untelevised action will be one of the most exciting American heavyweight prospects on the horizon, hard-punching Jarrell “Big Baby” Morar (11-0-1, 9 KO) from Brooklyn taking on always dangerous veteran Raymond Ochieng (26-18-3, 21 KO) from Kenya in a six-rounder.

Miller vs. Ochieng will serve as the main supporting bout before the CBS Sports Network-televised portion of the event, featuring a 10-round main event between Ireland’s WBA #12- și IBF # 11-evaluat “Uragan” Dennis Hogan and Tyrone “Young Gun” Brunson for the World Boxing Association’s NABA-US Super Welterweight Championship.

Tony Luis to Face Derry Matthews for World Championship this Saturday in England; Ismael Barroso now Fighting Ira Terry on CBS in Hinckley, MN Acest vineri

Lack of time to obtain proper visas has forced the necessity for two of Greg Cohen Promotions’ (GCP) fighters to switch places on short notice for this weekend.

Luis was originally scheduled to face Memphis, Tennessee, veteran Ira Terry (26-13, 16 KO) in the televised co-feature of the “Campionatul de box pe CBS Sports Network” eveniment, presented by Greg Cohen Promotions in association with Adam Wilcock’s Fight Card Promotions and produced by David Schuster’s Winner Take All Productions onVineri, Aprilie 17, din Hinckley Grand Casino din Hinckley, Minnesota.
