Then we heard what we always hear, ‘oh, Fury had a bad night, so did Breazeale, so did Arreola.’ They all seem to have ‘bad’ nights when I’m in the other corner. I’m hoping to actually get some credit when Miller has a ‘bad’ night too. I’m a heavyweight boxer, that’s boxer underlined. I move my feet, I use angles, I hit and don’t get hit. The 36-year-old fought to a disputed majority draw with three-time world title challenger Chris Arreola last July on PBC on CBS in which most ringside observers, y compris ShoBox analyste Steve Farhood, had Kassi winning by a wide margin. The New Orleans resident has been stopped just once – in 2014 by Mansour – and stands as an excellent barometer for Miller’s progression as a legitimate contender.
The fast-rising Potapov, of Potolsk, Russie, is ranked in the top 15 in three of the four sanctioning bodies (Ne Pas. 7 WBO, Ne Pas. 13 IBF, Ne Pas. 14 WBA) after just 15 combats professionnels. A former amateur standout with over 200 combats, the 25-year-old Potapov has already gone at least 10 rounds seven times since turning professional in 2010. The only blemish on his record is a draw with undefeated prospect Stephon Jeune dans son dernier combat sur Avril 15 sur ShoBox.
Coincidently, the only blemish on Antonio Nieves’ record is a 2015 draw with Stephon Young. The 29-year-old is coming off his first 10-round performance, a unanimous decision over then once-beaten Oscar Mojica sur Juin 18. The Cleveland, Ohio native will face his toughest opponent to date in fellow unbeaten Potapov in the matchup of unbeaten bantamweights.
The Brooklyn-based Eyubov has passed every test he’s faced, and knocked out all of his opponents in the process. The 29-year-old native of Kazakhstan is coming off an impressive third-round stoppage of veteran Jared Robinson last January on ShoBox. Eyubov will step up his level of opposition when he faces Karim Mayfield, a 35-year-old veteran who owns wins over Mauricio Herrera et Steve Forbes and has never been stopped in 23 combats.

BROOKLYN (Juin 26, 2016) – Les combats de prix sont revenus sur CBS Samedi avec un candidat du combat de l'année en tant que champion du monde invaincu des poids welters Keith Thurman devancé l'ancien champion du monde Shawn Porter dans une décision serrée mais unanime 115-113 par les trois juges du ring.

L'ancien champion du monde Porter, un éternel outsider mais un gentleman accompli, ne s'est pas plaint d'être du côté des perdants lors de sa deuxième décision serrée dans un combat pour le titre.
« Nous avons travaillé dur, Keith est un grand champion," Porter a dit. "Mon père dit de garder la tête haute. Je pense que je gagné le combat, mais je suis satisfait car le concurrent est sorti ce soir.
“Nous avons besoin de cette revanche. Je sais que les fans veulent cette revanche. S'il me donne une autre chance, Je vais travailler dur sur le ring et repartir avec son titre.”

Molina (13-1-1, 10 KOs) protesté, mais à moins d'un superbe KO, il n'était qu'à quelques secondes de subir la première défaite de sa carrière via une décision unanime..
“J'avais l'impression que Hurd lançait beaucoup de coups de poing au dixième round mais ils ne me faisaient pas vraiment mal.," Molina a dit. "Il restait occupé mais il ne m'a jamais vraiment fait de mal.
"Je suis allé bas et j'avais la tête baissée et il m'a rattrapé avec cet uppercut au premier tour. Il m'a eu avec un tir auquel je ne m'attendais pas mais c'était définitivement un renversement éclair.. Je suis pas blessé.
“J'étais censé utiliser beaucoup plus mon jeu de jambes mais j'ai fini par étouffer mes tirs. Il avait une défense maladroite avec beaucoup de flexions et je n'arrivais pas à trouver le rythme..
“C'était une grande opportunité pour moi et j'avais l'impression d'avoir mené un bon combat.. je reviendrai plus fort. On va travailler sur beaucoup de choses et y retourner.”

“Personne inspirante incroyable. Il a été patient, 30-combats étranges [et] a mis la main sur le WBC [courroie]. je fais de même. Je pars aux États-Unis. avec SHOWTIME qui me soutient également. Si, il a regardé ça.
“Il peut en tirer tout ce qu'il veut, mais c'est tellement différent quand vous êtes sur le ring les uns avec les autres. Alors un jour, nous pourrons découvrir ce que chacun fait.”
Qui veux-tu combattre ensuite?
“Eh bien, je pense que ça va devoir être comme ça [Joseph] Parker. Je regardais vraiment Fury… J'espère qu'il ira mieux bientôt. Il s'est malheureusement blessé à la cheville, ce qui l'a reporté parce que j'espérais avoir ce moment en hiver si tout se passait bien 9 juillet comme ça l'a faitce soir, mais il va falloir reprogrammer ça et en attendant, nous pouvons regarder d'autres adversaires comme Parker, s'il est vacant, ou n'importe qui d'autre que les gens veulent.”

"Ce ne sera pas ma seule défense, Je veux qu'il y en ait beaucoup, beaucoup, et au bon moment je combattrai David Haye, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder et les autres. Nous sommes dans une époque où nous devons nous battre les uns les autres. Il n’y a jamais eu d’époque où les meilleurs ne combattaient pas les meilleurs chez les poids lourds — mais ils doivent arriver au bon moment, et ils le feront.
"Nous sommes tous champions du monde car nous détenons toutes les ceintures disponibles. Nous sommes tous talentueux. Deontay a défendu son titre à plusieurs reprises, il faut donc lui en attribuer le mérite.. Tyson et moi n'avons pas encore défendu, donc j'ai mis Deontay en tête. Mais Tyson a battu Wladimir Klitschko qui a si longtemps régné.
"Je suis heureux car je suis devenu champion du monde lors de mon 16ème combat et ils ont remporté le leur plus tard dans leur carrière.. Mais Tyson a battu l'homme principal de la division, et Deontay a défendu sa ceinture à plusieurs reprises, donc je suis en troisième en ce moment, mais je suis en train de progresser.
"Mettez les ceintures de côté, ils ne vous donnent pas de pouvoirs magiques. Beaucoup de combattants perdent leur ceinture dès leur première défense. Il s’agit de développer votre talent brut et de vous assurer de rester sur une courbe ascendante, car il y a tout le temps de jeunes challengers affamés qui vous talonnent., prêt à vous dénoncer – et je refuse que cela m’arrive.

"Avant le combat, personne n'a critiqué (Charles) Martin. Il était invaincu, assommer les gars, grand gaucher, dangereux. Les bookmakers prenaient beaucoup de paris sur lui, m'assommant. Être un modèle:
"Je sais qu'il y a beaucoup d'enfants qui me regardent maintenant et leurs parents disent 'mon fils t'aime’ et c'est dans mon esprit.
"Je serai moi-même tout le temps, mais ce sentiment d'être un modèle et d'avoir des enfants qui vous admirent, qui vérifie les émotions qui pourraient ressortir si tu es énervé. Vous devez vous conduire.
Sur Tyson Fury:
"Tyson parle beaucoup. J'entends tellement de choses différentes, s'il était cohérent avec ce qu'il dit, je penserais peut-être qu'il creusait un peu, mais ce n'est que de l'eau sur le dos d'un canard. je ne le connais pas, mais tant que les gens disent "quand vas-tu le combattre"?' alors je l'aime bien parce qu'il est pertinent.
"Ce serait un combat tellement énorme et qui ferait partie de mon héritage. Je pense que parce qu'il a battu Wladimir une fois qu'il peut recommencer. Je ne pensais pas qu'il gagnerait le premier combat, mais il a réussi.
« J’adorerais combattre Tyson – c’est un affrontement qui doit avoir lieu. Il y a eu des discussions, qu'il s'agisse d'une conversation rapide ou de négociations sérieuses, mais tu ne peux pas claquer des doigts et organiser un méga combat. Cela prend du temps, mais ils sont en préparation et nous construisons dans leur direction, et en attendant je veux me tester et apprendre mon métier. Je dois bien performer pour prouver que je peux gérer les combats massifs.
Sur son compatriote britannique David Haye:
"David dirige le spectacle et les gens le savent, alors quand il affronte des adversaires faibles, il met son cou en jeu pour avoir le bâton. Les fans attendent plus de lui et il n’atteint pas ces niveaux, et c'est de là que vient le contrecoup. Les gens qu'il appelle contre les deux gars qu'il a combattus, ils ne s'additionnent tout simplement pas, et c'est pour ça que les gens sont frustrés.
«Je ne pense pas que vous puissiez mettre fin au combat contre Shannon Briggs. Il a fait beaucoup de bruit, il est de la vieille école et c'est un bon combat à mener pour David, gagner et progresser. Shannon a fait du bruit et il a son moment et qui sait? Peut-être qu'il peut choquer le monde. Il est vieux, mais il s'entraîne dur et il est en très bonne forme, et c'est pour ça que les gens aiment les poids lourds parce que c'est ce one shot.
"Un combat avec Fury et moi est à mon avis le plus gros combat de la boxe britannique.. Le combat contre Haye est également important; il y a suffisamment d'intérêt médiatique pour que ce soit grand. C'est déjà grand et on ne se bat même pas encore, alors imaginez à quel point ce serait grand une fois que nous y arriverions. Ce serait incroyable et c’est pourquoi je suis si intéressé par les combats.
DOMINIC Breazeale:
« J’ai l’intention d’exercer une pression extrême et d’emmener Joshua dans des endroits où il n’est jamais allé.. Nous verrons s'il peut le gérer.
"Est-ce que je veux le voir aller en territoire inexploré? Bien sûr, sans doute.
«J'y suis allé, Je sais ce que ça fait et je l'ai fait plusieurs fois maintenant. À la fois, Je ne vais pas laisser passer une opportunité. Si je vois quelque chose que je peux prendre au premier ou au deuxième tour, Je vais certainement le sortir de là.
"J'ai affronté des gars plus grands que moi, J'ai combattu des gars plus petits que moi. J'ai été le plus grand jusqu'à présent (de ses adversaires professionnels), mais je ne pense pas que la différence en quelques centimètres fera une si grande différence. Les gars avec qui je me suis battu sont 10 fois mieux qu'Anthony Joshua.
"Je pense que ce sera une de ces situations dans lesquelles il n'y aura pas de différence de taille ou de poids.. Ce sera la différence de compétence et d'expérience.
« Quand vous pensez à un champion poids lourd, vous voulez vous assurer qu’il a combattu le mieux possible., et je pense que c'est pourquoi Joshua m'a choisi comme adversaire contre lequel se défendre.. C’est ce qu’il prévoit de sortir de la situation s’il parvient à s’en sortir. 12 tours.
« Je pense que Joshua me considère comme un tremplin et il va en être désolé.. Il a juste tort. Il se bat contre un gars de 6 pieds 7 pouces, 255 des kilos qui apportent de la pression et un bon rythme d'un tour à l'autre.
"Je fais partie de ces gars sur qui je pourrais tenter ma chance, Je pourrais travailler en défense ou je pourrais faire un coup fort. D'une manière ou d'une autre, Je vais en faire un combat. Tous mes adversaires sont tombés sur la toile et je ne pense pas que Joshua va s'en sortir aussi..
"J'ai été choisi comme le plus petit gars du ring, par l'IBF comme un tremplin et j'ai l'impression d'être dos au mur. Je vais sortir en me battant.
"Venir ici et remporter le titre IBF à Londres est pour moi une chose majeure que j'ai l'intention de réaliser. Ensuite, je veux continuer à rechercher tous les titres.
"Mon état d'esprit a définitivement changé. La situation dans laquelle je me trouve mentalement est juste différente de certains de mes combats passés.. Mon niveau de confiance a explosé et physiquement je me sens bien.
« Je pense que la division poids lourds se prépare à changer. Avec des individus comme moi, Deontay et Tyson, on a des gars qui sont des personnages qui apportent beaucoup de charisme à la division. C'est quelque chose dont nous avons besoin. Oui, nous sommes des athlètes mais au final nous sommes des artistes et nous voulons voir un spectacle. Je suis le genre de gars qui apporte du spectacle à chaque fois que je me bats. C’est plein d’action de la cloche d’ouverture à la fin, et les fans de combat recherchent ça. C’est ce qui va ressusciter la division des poids lourds.
Sur sa victoire contre Amir Mansour:
"C'était un autre booster de confiance pour moi. C'est une chose de finir un gars au premier tour avec trois coups de poing ou quelque chose comme ça. C'est autre chose de finir un gars en sixième, septième tour avec une combinaison de coups.
"Amir m'a mis sur la toile dans la seconde, J'ai riposté et j'ai fini par briser la mâchoire de l'homme.
« Ça me donne quelque chose sur quoi travailler. Je sais que j'ai pu revenir et avoir beaucoup de succès. Chaque fois que tu gagnes, peu importe où tu as un gars, le briser, brise-le là où il s'arrête sur le tabouret, c'est un énorme booster de confiance. Cela vous fait comprendre en tant qu’athlète ou boxeur professionnel que vous avez une puissance de frappe, tu viens de casser la mâchoire d’un autre homme.
De retour à Londres après le 2012 Jeux olympiques:
"Je pense que ça va être beau. Ça va être génial de revenir là où ma carrière amateur s'est terminée et de battre le gars qui a remporté la médaille d'or.. Ça va être génial. Et alors, en plus de ça, emportez plus de matériel avec le titre IBF Heavyweight. Tu ne pouvais rien demander de mieux.
« Là encore, je comprends et je crois que je suis un combattant complètement différent — non seulement je suis un professionnel mais je ne combats plus un style amateur. Je me considère comme un artiste à couper le souffle avec une assez bonne puissance de frappe et c'est ce que j'ai l'intention de montrer aux fans britanniques et à mes fans américains.. suivant. C’est un chapitre qui doit être fermé et j’ai l’intention de le faire.
Sur l'état de la division poids lourds:
« Je crois que nous avons beaucoup de poids lourds qui se débrouillent très bien et qui réussissent vraiment dans leur situation., certains étant titulaires du titre, certains non. Mais je pense que ça va être un cercle tournant. Moi je combats Anthony Joshua, puis on passe à Deontay et Fury, Wladimir Klitschko pourrait même rester un moment. Sera-t-il un jour comparé aux jours d'Ali ou de Riddick Bowe et d'Evander Holyfield ?? Je ne sais pas. Bowe et Holyfield ont eu une grande trilogie et je l'étudie tout le temps. Tout dépend donc de ce que chaque combattant a laissé en lui.

ANTHONY JOSHUA
Thoughts on his preparation for the fight:
“I feel great condition wise, and mentally I’m in a good place. I’ve never felt so relaxed because I just know I’m capable of doing it. I’ve trained weeks and years and it’s just about getting it right on the night of the fight. My tactics and my mind have not let me down so far, so that’s why I don’t want to change anything.
“I’m not putting too much pressure on myself. I’m going to attack the fight the same way I have my last 16 and put on an explosive show. That’s what the Americans love. They like knockouts and I won’t let them down.
“Every fight can be my last fight. As much as I would like to tell you I’m confident and ‘I’m going to do this, I’m going to do that’ I do understand I have to approach this as if it could be my last fight.
“I know he can hang around, he doesn’t go down easy. He’s a big guy, he can eat shots. The Dominic Breazeale I’m used to watching on YouTube and I’m reading about is the enhanced Dominic Breazeale – the Dominic Breazeale that is 50 percent better because I think he knows he wants to come prove himself on a global stage. And this is his chance come Samedi, so I need to prepare for the best of Breazeale.”
On going from being the hunter as a challenger to being the hunted as a champion:
“I’m not the cream of the crop in the gym. I’m around guys that are achieving things on the same level so I’m still hunting. I still have that mentality as if I’m a main killer in the jungle. I haven’t lost that hunger.
On potential to fight in the US in the future:
“I just keep on hearing the United States is where it’s happening. And if I come to the U.S., I’m going to shut it down.”
Thoughts on Breazeale’s performance against Amir Mansour:
“He’s a tough guy. He managed to go out there and break Mansour’s jaw and capture a win, which has led him into where he is now. Whichever angels were floating in the ring with him that day have led him to this point, so I’ve got to put an end to his dream.”
On winning a piece of the heavyweight championship in just his 16e combat pro:
“It didn’t mean much. I still have another couple titles I need to get my hands on. I’m still hunting. There’s still work to be done. So it only ticked one of the boxes on my to-do list.”
DOMINIC Breazeale
“I’m out here very excited. J'ai hâte de monter sur le ring Juin 25 and shock the world, ce est sûr. I’ve been lucky enough to prepare for the biggest fight of my life and I’m really super excited about it.”
On why he thinks he was selected for this matchup:
"Honnêtement, the way I see it is that someone didn’t do their research. They didn’t look deep enough. They didn’t find out enough about me and maybe they’re looking at me as just another football player that transitioned into boxing. And I’m hoping they’re overlooking me. It definitely can be a situation where they’re just watching one fight, especially my last fight. But there’s been a lot of tough ones. If they’re looking at that one situation, I’m glad because that’s to my liking.”
On his feelings about fighting overseas:
“The way I’m thinking about it is, Juin 25, I gain 20,000 les fans. I’m in a situation where I’m very confident going into this fight and I know for sure I’m going to put on a great show, come out victorious and go back to the U.S. avec 20,000 UK fans.
“I definitely believe [Joshua] realizes; he understands that he’s got a big test in front of him. He’s got a big fighter in front of him. He’s got a guy that’s going to break him down, test his will and see if he is a true champion.
“I am coming into this fight very confident and I’ve got some things that I know are going to work for me, as well as some things that I plan on exploiting out of Joshua.
“I’m blessed to have been picked for this fight and am thankful for this opportunity. The way I look at it, and the way I look at every fight that I go into, is that as long as I do everything that I need to do in the gym as far as sparring, preparation and training, running my miles, sleeping right and eating right – I’ve crossed all of my T’s and dotted all of my I’s. I’ve got nothing to worry about. I’ve got nothing to second-guess. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to and I just can’t wait to shine.”

Wilder, who will be part of the in-studio SHOWTIME announce team covering the fight from New York City, is torn on who will triumph when Joshua makes the first defense of the world title he landed in April with a devastating second-round KO win over Charles Martin.
“I definitely see the fight as a 50-50,” said Wilder. “You’ve got two big heavyweights, and the challenger wants what the champion has, and the champion wants to keep what he has.
“It’s going to be interesting because we’ve seen Breazeale in a lot of wars. He’s almost been taken out by some of the smaller heavyweights. He’s been punched around, but he has always survived.
“We’ve seen Joshua (get) busted up as well, but he has kept his composure, and this fight is in his backyard amongst his people.
“I don’t put anything past Breazeale because he’s coming in hustlers’ territory. I think that it’ll be a good fight because of Breazeale – I think he really wants it.”
Wilder makes the fourth defense of his WBC strap on Juillet 16 against Chris Arreola in his hometown of Alabama. The 30-year-old says that Joshua will feel like a different fighter as he goes into his first fight as world champion – but that there’s now an even bigger target on his back.
“Once you’ve got that belt, you feel like ‘I’m the man,’ ” said Wilder. “After the first fight, that’s when you really feel confident. You really feel you’re the man, you’re the champ. You’re the ruler once you’ve had your first defense.
“For Joshua, this is his first title defense, so he should feel some kind of security about himself and confidence about himself. But he’s going to find out that to continue his career and defend that title, these guys aren’t going to lay down after one punch or after two punches.
“They’re going to keep taking punches, they’re going to keep getting knocked down and they’re going to keep getting up. This is for a world title. This can bring you out of poverty, tu sais ce que je veux dire? Pour cette raison, these challengers are hungry. That’s one of the things that I had to realize.
“I put myself in their position. When I was a challenger, I was hungry and I already had the mentality that ‘you’re going to really have to kill me or hurt me bad to get me out of this ring.’ So that’s the mentality that these challengers have.
“It’s going to be interesting when you have a guy with a big heart that really, really wants it and I think Breazeale really wants it. We’re going to see where his heart is. I can’t say what kind of heart he has, but we’re going to see.”
Breazeale is following compatriot Charles Martin into Joshua’s Greenwich home area. “It takes a lot of courage, will and heart to fight in someone’s backyard,” said Wilder. “It takes someone that has confidence in themselves. And not to mention going to someone else’s country, because then the environment has completely changed. It’s a big difference and not a lot of guys are willing to travel outside of their country where they would be uncomfortable.
“Only a very few that really want to build their legacy, such as myself, will travel and have no problem. I don’t like to worry about judges or nothing. You go do what you have to do. That’s just my philosophy and mentality as a champion now. When you say the Heavyweight Champion of the World, that’s why this is tough, we travel all over the world.”

On why he thinks he was selected for this matchup:
"Honnêtement, the way I see it is that someone didn’t do their research. They didn’t look deep enough. They didn’t find out enough about me and maybe they’re looking at me as just another football player that transitioned into boxing. And I’m hoping they’re overlooking me. It definitely can be a situation where they’re just watching one fight, especially my last fight. But there’s been a lot of tough ones. If they’re looking at that one situation, I’m glad because that’s to my liking.”
On his feelings about fighting overseas:
“The way I’m thinking about it is, Juin 25, I gain 20,000 les fans. I’m in a situation where I’m very confident going into this fight and I know for sure I’m going to put on a great show, come out victorious and go back to the U.S. avec 20,000 UK fans.
“I definitely believe [Joshua] realizes; he understands that he’s got a big test in front of him. He’s got a big fighter in front of him. He’s got a guy that’s going to break him down, test his will and see if he is a true champion.
“I am coming into this fight very confident and I’ve got some things that I know are going to work for me, as well as some things that I plan on exploiting out of Joshua.
“I’m blessed to have been picked for this fight and am thankful for this opportunity. The way I look at it, and the way I look at every fight that I go into, is that as long as I do everything that I need to do in the gym as far as sparring, preparation and training, running my miles, sleeping right and eating right – I’ve crossed all of my T’s and dotted all of my I’s. I’ve got nothing to worry about. I’ve got nothing to second-guess. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to and I just can’t wait to shine.”
