“V tomto sportu musíte mít trpělivost. Přijdou velké boje, které lidé chtějí vidět. Nikoho se nebojím a nebudu pro nikoho utíkat. Můj tým je na stejné vlně a budeme nadále spolupracovat a posouvat se vpřed.
“Vše je o přizpůsobení. Pokaždé, když projdu něčím uvnitř nebo vně ringu, dělá mě to prostě lepší a lepší.
“Styl Chrise Arreoly byl pro mě perfektní. I se zraněními, která jsem utrpěl, Stále jsem mohl dokončit práci. Také jsem se musel probojovat přes zranění se Stivernem, protože jsem si zranil ruku ve třetím kole toho zápasu. Díky tomu, že jsem mohl mít tyto zkušenosti, se moje sebevědomí ještě zvýšilo.”

Reakce na nedávná veřejná prohlášení šampiona v těžké váze WBC Deontaye Wildera, bývalá prozatímní těžká váha WBA Šampion Luis Ortiz by mu to rád oznámil: “Loni v září jsem se přihlásil do programu čistého boxu WBC/VADA. Přestaň používat tu výmluvu, abys se mnou nebojoval!”

Neporažený Ortiz (27-0, 23 KO), z Camaguey, Kuba, nyní žije v Miami, se už delší dobu snaží dostat Wildera do boxerského ringu, protože Wilder se rozhodl čelit řadě toho, co by mnozí označili za druhořadé protivníky, proti kterým se má bránit.

Wilder není nic jiného než papírový šampion, který se náhodou ocitl na správném místě ve správný čas proti správnému soupeři, co je nejdůležitější, správný promotér. To je celý on.”
Ortizův trenér, Herman Caicedo z Caicedo Sports Training Center v Miami, Florida, také říká, že Ortizův neúspěšný test na drogy v 2014 již není faktorem.
“Od té doby, co před lety neuspěl, Luis byl testován více než tucetkrát, dobrovolně a povinně v bojích. Dal jasně najevo, že už nikdy nechce, aby se to stalo znovu, a já bych nepracoval s bojovníkem, o kterém jsem dokonce měl podezření, že není čistý.. Je toho příliš mnoho v tom, jak trénuji bojovníky. Všichni jsme do tréninku na neúspěšný test na drogy vložili spoustu krvavého potu a slz, abychom celý proces vykolejili. Než vezmu bojovníky, dělám si vlastní drogové panely a kontroly steroidů. A ti, kteří se nechtějí dobrovolně zúčastnit, nebudu trénovat.”
Ortiz říká dříve nebo později, Wilderovi dojdou výmluvy, aby se mu vyhnul, nebo mu dojdou boxy.
“Moje mentalita byla vždy porazit toho, kdo byl nejlepší bojovník v mé divizi, období. Své soupeře si nevybírám ručně. To vše je pro mě zvláštní a nové. Déle však běhat nemůže. Předpokládám, že se pokusí sjednotit nebo vyklidit, než se mnou bude muset bojovat. Born in Paris, Francie, Yoka began boxing at six-years-old and was trained by his father Victor, a former professional boxer in the Congo. The 24-year-old stands at 6’7″ and is coming off a gold-medal-winning performance that saw him defeat Great Britain’s Joe Joyce in the championship showdown in Rio.
Yoka came to the 2016 Olympic Games intent on winning gold and defeated fighters from Croatia, Jordan and the U.S. Virgin Islands on his way to the gold medal match.
Yoka first made a splash by winning the French Junior National Championship in 2008 a 2009 before claiming a silver medal at the 2010 Youth World Championships. He continued his rise to prominence by winning French National Championships in 2012 a 2014 while also defeating current heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker at the 2010 Youth Olympic games.
“I am thrilled to be able to work with Tony Yoka,” said world renowned boxing trainer Virgil Hunter. “He truly is a rare talent who has tremendous potential and with only 24 let, he has the opportunity to become the future of our sport. Bigger, Stronger Heavyweight Version of Junior Wright to be Unleashed against McCreary at Detroit Brawl on January 22, at Masonic Temple in Detroit

Former cruiserweight world title challenger “Hurikán” Junior Wright has been hitting the weights hard and will enter the ring for the first time as a heavyweight in his next ring appearance.
Wright (15-2-1, 12 KO) from Evanston, Illinois, expects to come in at a muscular 225 lbs. when he takes on Detroit’s Damon McCreary (15-6, 11 KO) in an eight-round featured bout on promoter Dmitriy Salita’s special Neděle edition of his “Detroit Brawl” series on Leden 22, 2017, at Masonic Temple in Detroit.

“The biggest thing I learned in that fight is to relax in the ring. When you’re relaxed, you are more aware in there and can pace yourself a lot better.”
Wright’s trainer, Rick Wilson, says the decision to gain 25 lbs. gives the fighter, who he says can still get down to cruiserweight’s 200-lb limit, more career options moving forward.
“Junior is like a Holyfield-type of fighter who is a cruiserweight in his early 20s and then grows into a full-fledged heavyweight near his 30s. People like small, agile heavyweights better than the lumbering monsters hugging each other all fight. They make for more exciting fights.”
Wilson says because of Wright’s relative lack of experience, the world hasn’t seen the best of him yet.
“How many fighters have had two world title fights by their 18th pro fight (the fight against Chakhkiev was for the IBO World Cruiserweight Championship) after having just 50 amatérské zápasy?” he asked. “Plus Junior was knocking everybody out, so he had very few rounds in the bank and went in on short notice. The best of Junior Wright is still to be seen. He’s a very special talent.”

In six-round bouts will be resurgent Detroit welterweight “Blesk” Larry Ventus (7-11-1, 3 KO); and undefeated Toledo super middleweight prospect DeAndre Ware (8-0, 6 KO).
In exciting scheduled four-rounders will be talented, undefeated bantamweight Jarico “Král Velkých jezer” O'Quinn (4-0, 3 KO); 2016 Olympic alternate and undefeated middleweight Ardreal Holmes (4-0, 2 KO) z Flintu; and undefeated Detroit heavyweight and former National Golden Gloves champion Marcus Carter (1-0, 1 KO).

“It’s sad but this guy, Povětkin, has become a total embarrassment. He’s now tested positive in two WBC heavyweight title fights in a row. I’m all for winning and losing fights in the ring, but it’s time for justice to prevail. I don’t know what’s going on over there with so many Russian athletes in so many sports testing positive for drugs, but it has to stop. They cannot be allowed to continue to do things the way they are.

 

“The WBC should declare Stiverne world champion, make him the mandatory for (WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay) Wilder, and let’s move on with it. There are a lot of great heavyweight fights that can be made with willing boxers who don’t break the rules every fight.

 

“I’m very disappointed for Bermane, who’s now gone through two training camps with nothing to show for it. Why put up all that money for travel and expenses and then have no fight. He was ready to beat Povetkin and regain a part of the WBC title.

 

“And then – worse yet — for them to try and put it on Bermane for not fighting is just ludicrous. They’re taking the victim and trying to set him up as the criminal in this.’’

 

Stiverne pulled out after the WBC withdrew its sanction because Poverkin tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman revealed the positive test by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) on Saturday morning. Pak, the WBC withdrew its recognition of the fight.

“There’s no reason to fight if the WBC won’t sanction the bout,“ řekl Stiverne, who could have gone through with the bout but without the sanction opted not to. “I’m very disappointed in the actions of Povetkin. I’ve been training for months to be victorious.

“To wake up the day of the fight, have breakfast, take a nap and then find out he tested positive is the worst possible situation.”

This is the second time in seven months Povětkin (30-1-0, 22 KO) has tested positive for a banned substance. He tested positive for Meldonium ahead of a scheduled May bout with Wilder, cancelling that fight.

If it had transpired, the winner of the fight for the WBC interim heavyweight title would have become the mandatory challenger to Wilder. Stiverne lost the WBC title to Wilder on a 12-round decision on Jan. 15, 2015. He’s the only fighter to go the distance with Wilder.

“Eric is coming here to win and he’s got a goal in his sights and dreams to fulfill. I want to shatter his dreams and keep that title. He gave Wilder a real test, rocked him, and boxed through the fight with an injury. So he’s got ability, power and heart.

“Eric has only lost to the best. He’s looked at as an underdog because a lot of it is about hype. This is his chance to announce himself. He might say he can beat me, but we won’t know until the night if he can pull it off.

 

“This fight isn’t about Deontay Wilder. Deontay is supposed to be this KO artist with one-punch power and he’s been a pro for eight years now so he’s got vast experience in the game. Eric put up a great fight against him and watching it I thought ‘that’s the type of guy that I want to be in.’ Someone that fights with their heart on their sleeve, that’s why we’re here now. It’ll be a comparison in the back of my mind but that doesn’t make me a better fighter than him or vice versa if I do better or worse than Deontay.

 

“A man that gets up after being knocked down has my full respect and he has shown he has massive heart. His mentality is that he’s got nothing to lose, and that makes him dangerous. There’s been upsets in the past but that’s not happening at this stage of my career.

 

“Molina is Wladimir Klitschko, he is David Haye, he is Wilder. He is a hurdle I have to overcome. It’s not about them, it’s about me. I won’t disrespect Eric, but I don’t play games, I come to dominate. I don’t care how long the fight with Molina goes; one or 12 kola, I just need to dismantle my opponent.

 

“I’m not fighting Klitschko. He’s going to be there v sobotu, as is Haye, but they’re not in front of me. We know he can punch and has the attributes to become a legend, but that missing piece of the puzzle is the chin. Can he take a punch? He hasn’t taken anything up to this date. A good boxing puncher can KO you with a shot at any given moment.

 

“I don’t question his stamina, but I do want to see him take a good shot. It’s the big question – and I’ve hurt everybody that I’ve been in the ring with. Does he have grit and determination? zjistíme.

“I don’t pay too much notice to what people think. When I fought Wilder the whole world gave me one round — to je to. He’s going down in one round, he’s going to get blasted away. I’ve heard it all before, all the negative feedback. Let people think what they want, I feed off it. I have nothing to lose in a fight like this and everything to gain. “Dillian Whyte has given Joshua his toughest test so far, then probably (Dominic) Breazeale. He hasn’t been pushed. He hasn’t been taken to a place where he’s had to dig deep. There are some holes in his game that we feel we can execute and hurt him.

 

“Lots of people didn’t want the fight; it’s a business and I wanted it. I’ve shared the ring with Wilder and now I’m going in with Joshua. These aren’t just words; I’m putting it into action, there’s a difference.

 

“Wilder is the most dangerous heavyweight in the world, Tyson Fury is the most skilled, the combination of both would beat Johsua. The most feared is Luis Ortiz. You have the heavyweights that no one wants to get in with. Everyone is calling everyone out, but when it comes down to it, it means nothing if you don’t get in there. You just have a certain bunch of guys that don’t want to fight another bunch of guys.

 

“Against Wilder I learned that I can get up. I can fight back and still win rounds. I learned I can fight through an injury; that I can bite down on the gumshield and give more than I ever thought I could give. It was a big stage against Wilder in his backyard so I’ve been on the big stage before. It doesn’t concern me at all – been there, udělal. Wilder (37-0, 36 KO) will join host Brian Custer and analysts Al Bernstein and Paulie Malignaggi for the SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL® presentation from Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles, site of that evening’s SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast.

 

The “Bronze Bomber” just completed rehab for a fractured right hand and torn right bicep (see video above) as he (Wilder) sets his sights to unify the division in 2017. Wilder is acutely familiar with Molina, having defeated the fellow-American in the first defense of his title in June, 2015 na SHOWTIME.

 

“I know firsthand just how tough Eric Molina is,” Wilder said. “He’s coming to win because it’s a chance for him to win a world title, and he’ll definitely push Joshua.
