VERONA, NY (Srpen 13, 2016) – Undefeated rising contender Miguel Flores (21-0, 9 KO) defeated exciting featherweight contender Ryan Kielczweski (25-2, 7 KO) jednomyslným rozhodnutím (97-93, 96-94, 96-94) V 10 kole hlavní události Champions Premier Boxerské na ESPN a ESPN od Turning Kamenný Resort Casino v Verona, New York.
In an action-packed fight during which both fighters threw over 750 údery, the Houston native Flores was slightly more fluid and able to do enough work on the inside to keep his unblemished record intact.
Flores said, “I thought I would hurt him with body shots, so we did a lot of work down there tonight. I think my movement was the difference. Ryan said I couldn’t move, but I showed him and everyone else that I can.”
As Flores appeared to be stealing the early rounds, Kielczweski stepped on the gas at the midway point, throwing punches in bunches and landing regularly throughout the second half of the bout.
Kielczweski said, “I thought we fought a great fight tonight for the fans. I started a little slow, but I really picked it up in the fifth round.”
The increased activity was a little too belated to salvage the fight for the Quincy, MA native.
Kielczweski added, “I was gaining steam in the second half of the fight. I can’t say that I won, but I thought it could have been a draw. It was a good fight though, and I will be back.”
An excited Flores said, “It felt great to get this win tonight. I boxed and banged it out with (Kielczweski). He had some pop, and in the last round he got me with a good body shot, but we are used to tough fights like this. I like it like that. This is fun to me. We will watch the video and correct what I know were a lot of mistakes, but I believe I’m ready for the next level. I’m ready for the top contenders.”
Televised coverage kicked off with Olympic bronze medalist Yordenis ugas (16-3, 7 KO) defeating contender Jamal James (20-1, 9 KO) jednomyslným rozhodnutím (99-91, 98-92, 96-94) in a technical 10-round welterweight showdown.
Three days ago, James stepped in to replace undefeated welterweight Bryant Perrella, who was forced to withdraw from tonight’s bout because of an injury to his left thumb. James was coming off just 27 of days rest following his July 16 split decision victory over Wale Omotoso.
Ugas fought last 825 days ago when he lost his second consecutive bout, the third defeat of his career. Nicméně, Ugas showed no sign of ring rust v pátek night as he casually controlled the action against James.

Ugas added, “I followed my corner’s instructions and won round by round. I felt very consistent in there tonight.”
Knowing that he’d come up short, James said, “I thought it was a good fight. (ugas) brought it tonight. I was fighting his fight unfortunately. I started to outpoint him late, so I should have started earlier with my combinations and countering. I was trying to knock him out and I should have just boxed.”
James added, “I have no excuses though, I am a grown man and could have said ‘no’ to taking this fight. But fighting is what I do. Other fighters are not doing what I did tonight. Určitě, if I had more time to prepare I might have done better, but I am a fighter.”
On his prospects moving forward, Ugas said, “After the long layoff, this is a new beginning for me, and now I am looking for a big opportunity in my next fight. It felt good to get back to fighting.”

On his recent training camp…
“Training camp has been very hard, but I know that hard work will pay off when it’s all said and done. I’ve had a lot of time to prepare for this fight so I’ll be at my best. My longtime trainer, Aaron Navarro, and my strength and conditioning coach, Edward Jackson, have been pushing me really hard. Together as a team, we will be ready to shine tento pátek.”

PHILADELPHIA (Srpen 6, 2016) – Undefeated rising contender David “Rudá vlajka” Benavidez (16-0, 15 KO) vyřazeni Denis Douglin (20-5, 13 KO) V 10 kole hlavní události Champions Premier Boxerské na ESPN a ESPN z 2300 Arena ve Philadelphii.
Douglin, who is trained by his mother Saphya, opened the fight very aggressive, stealing the first round on all three judges’ scorecards. Douglin continued to press the action, also winning the second round battle with two of the three judges, but Benavidez would soon settle in and take control of the war.
“Věděl jsem, že to bude tuhý boj. I knew Douglin wasn’t going to go out without a fight,” said Benavidez. “So I came in here and started slower than I usually do, just using my jab a little bit more.”
The 19-year-old Benavidez made the necessary corrections in round three and never looked back, chipping away throughout the fourth and fifth rounds. In the sixth, Benavidez teed off on Douglin with damaging punches to both Douglin’s body and head.
V sedmém kole, Benavidez was still having his way when one of the top turnbuckles gave out, causing the ropes on one side of the ring to collapse, and stopping the fight momentarily. When the action resumed, Douglin came forward with a flurry, but that burst of energy was short-lived.
Benavidez regained control in the eighth round, and in the ninth he scored the only knockdown of the fight. In the tenth and final frame, Benavidez threw a barrage of punches, several of which buckled Douglin, causing referee Gary Rosato to intervene and stop the fight at :35 do kola.
When asked about Douglin’s resilience, Benavidez said, “I hurt him a lot of times, but I kept my cool. I knew I was going to get him out of there sooner or later and that’s exactly what I did tonight. This is a good victory for me. Douglin is a tough veteran. He started fast and swinging wildly, and his offense probably looked better on-camera than it was, but he did what he had to do to survive until the final round.”
Benavidez continued, “It was important to me to get the stoppage and show everybody that I am just as strong in the late rounds as I am early on. I love this. This is what I signed up for. I want tough fights.”
A disappointed Douglin said, “I was in this fight, I just got winded. I was in great shape and everything, but I got winded there towards the end. Benavidez is a tough, young fighter. He was able to make me stay in there longer than I wanted to, but I feel good and I’ll be back.”
Benavidez concluded, “Právě teď, I would like to say that I don’t think about who’s next. I’m just trying to progress in my career and I’m not trying to call anybody out. Nelson, who stepped up to face Luna on only 24-hours notice, tried to bring the fight to Luna in the early rounds and make it a physical contest on the inside.
Despite Luna landing a couple of blistering uppercuts in the second and third rounds, Nelson still came forward. Luna later said, “Nelson was a tough guy and could bang a little bit.”
By the close of the third round, Luna’s left eye appeared to be swelling badly, but luckily for Luna Nelson’s gas tank appeared to drain just in time. Although Nelson was all aggression and wanted to fight in a phone booth early on, he found himself landing fewer punches and looking to create distance in the middle rounds.
Luna soon took over the action, and in the seventh round a cut opened on Nelson’s forward, but was quickly controlled by his corner. Nicméně, Luna had done enough damage in the middle stages of the scrap and was able coast to a unanimous victory on the scorecards.
“Obviously we prepared for another opponent, but I felt I had a solid performance against him,” said Luna. “Nelson came to fight and was in shape, and I thought I handled him pretty well, but I know I can still do better.”
When asked about taking the fight on short notice Nelson said, “I make no excuses, but we took this fight at 9 p.m. last night and I knew I was stepping up to face a tough opponent. I didn’t get the decision, but I felt good in there tonight, and I proved I can compete with a world class fighter.
Nelson added, “Luna is a good puncher and he’s strong. I won’t take anything away from him. We fought a hell of a fight, and I look forward to being back soon.”
Luna summed up the night adding, “I’m looking to build on what I did here tonight and get back in the ring soon for another good fight.”

“We had another great training camp out here in Long Beach, Kalifornie. We put the final touches and wrapped up camp and I’m ready to go. There was plenty of good sparring and we worked on some things we know will help us in this fight. I’m in great shape and I feel sharp.”
On fighting in his first main event on ESPN…
“Fighting on ESPN is great exposure for me and my team, especially in the main event. We all worked so hard to get in this position and now it’s time to capitalize on this great opportunity. I know a lot of family and friends back home in Phoenix will be tuning in. I just want to shine out and perform to my best ability.”
On facing his opponent Denis Douglin…
“To bude tvrdý boj. I know Douglin is hungry to give me my first loss. He’s coming off three wins in a row, tak beru tento boj velmi vážně. Mashantucket, CT (Červenec 21, 2016) – Neporažený stoupající middleweight Sergiy “technik” Derevyanchenko (9-0, 7 KO) sražen Am “Král” Soliman(44-14, 18 KO) třikrát před zastavením bývalý mistr světa v druhém kole hlavní události Champions Premier Boxerské na ESPN a ESPN Deportes Ve čtvrtek večer od Foxwoods Resort Casino v Mashantucket, CT.
A 2008 Ukranian Olympian, Derevyanchenko bylo pod kontrolou od začátku, stál za svým a dodávat chytré záběry jako Soliman pokoušel se ho flummox s pohybovými a obtížných úhlů.
Soliman chytli s řízenými střelami pravou rukou od Derevyanchenko dopadá přímo na bradu a poslal podrozvahové australský na plátno. Soliman neprokázalo, že by zranění však, a pokračoval, aby přišla, aby se pokusili narušit a zmařit neporažený bojovník.

“Dělám dobře. Nedostal jsem se zahřát, jen pár minut, ale to není omluva. On dělal svou práci. To se nikdy předtím nestalo, aby mi.
“Je to dobrý boxer, kdo to udělal, co musel udělat,. Nemůžu si nic od něj.
“Po každém boji, bojovníci se musí rozhodnout, co dál. Mám hodně mimo box, který dělá mi radost, a to trvá žihadlo z večer.”

“Miluji bojovat a bitva a jít prst až k patě. popraven I herní plán. Moje obrana byla mnohem lépe a já jsem tvrdě pracoval na svou obranu. To byl můj nejlepší boj, protože ten chlap stál a bojoval, neměl spouštět.
“Nebyl jsem překvapen, že Mendez vzal tolik údery, protože jsem neměl hodit každý úder těžké, smíšené jsem to, ale hodit nějaké tvrdé údery.
“Chci ještě pár zápasů a pak chci bojovat o světový titul. To je to, co jsem tak tvrdě pracovali dělat. Nebudu se vyhnul komukoliv. Chci bojovat Gennadij Golovkin a vzít jeho pásy.”

Over the year, many other Connecticut fighters have made an impact on the sport including Hartford’s NBA featherweight champion Battling Battalino (57-26-3, 26 KO), who was the first world champion to lose his title on the scale, Hartford’s two-time world welterweight titlist Marlon “Kouzelná Man” Starling (45-6-12, 27 KO), Norwalk’s WBA junior middleweight champion “Tremendous” Travis Simms (28-1, 21 KO), New Haven’s three-time world light heavyweight champion “Špatný” Chad Dawson (33-4, 18 KO) and world welterweight contender Gaspar “El Indio” Ortega (131-29-6, 69 KO), Stamford’s world No. 1-zařadil welterweight Chico Vejar (92-20-4, 43 KO), and Bloomfield’s 1996 Olympic Team USA captain Lawrence Clay-Bey (21-3-1, 16 KO).
The No. 1 Foxwoods fight of all-time, held on April 16, 2011, was also promoted by DiBella Entertainment, and was selected as the 2011 Ring Magazine and BWAA Fight of the Year. Defending champion Ostatní Berto (27-0) a challenger Victor Ortiz (28-2-2) battled for 12 kola, each getting dropped twice, with Ortiz winning a hard-fought decision (114-111, 114-112, 115-110) for the WBC welterweight title.

V 2004, New England favorite Scott “The Sandman” Pemberton, hailing from nearby New Bedford, MA, was involved in a great 12th kolo, come-from-behind knockout of always-tough Omar Sheika in a rematch of a previous draw, for a regional super middleweight title.
Two other N.E. fan favorites who fought regularly at Foxwoods were multiple-time world champion Vinny Paz (Pazienza during his boxing career), fighting out of Cranston, RI, and New Bedford’s all-action “Sucra” Ray Oliveira. Paz had a 13-3 record at Foxwoods, zdůrazněna jeho 1998 decision over Glenwood Brown and his 50thcareer win in his retirement fight against Tocker Pudwill v 2004. The younger brother of undefeated Jose Benavidez, David has racked up a perfect 15 wins in 15 starts at just 19-years-old. Representing Marlboro, New Jersey, Douglin was a 2008 National Golden Gloves champion at middleweight who won his first 12 fights after turning pro in 2009. The 28-year-old has battled top fighters Jermell Charlo and George Groves, in addition to owning victories over previously unbeaten Steve Martinez and veteran Charles Whitaker. He looks for his third straight victory after stopping Marcus Upshaw in the eighth round of his last bout.
