Tento týden Tom, Tony and Rich catch up with Professional Boxer “Fast” Eddie Chambers. Is USA Boxing Nationals Champion Jared Anderson America’s next great heavyweight?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Prosinec 21, 2017) – Christmas came early for Jared Anderson, who not only won the heavyweight title at the recent USA Boxing National Championships, the 18-year-old also captured the Most Outstanding Boxer Award in the Elite Division.
Seeded No. 7 in an eight-boxer field at The Nationals, Anderson, v pořádku, defeated No. 2 Ježíš Flores v úvodním kole, 5-0, edged No. 3 Adrian Tillman v semifinále, 3-2, and upset five-time national champion Cam F. Awesome, 5-0, V mistrovství finále.

“I had a vendetta going with Tillman and, instead of boxing, I tried to take his head off. Simple work allowed me to beat Awesome. Je to dobrý bojovník. One of 11 siblings in two households, Anderson is another USA Boxing success story. Growing up in Toledo, Ohio, Anderson was constantly getting into trouble in school and boxing eventually saved him. His mother convinced her son to meet a local boxing coach, who introduced Jared to boxing, drilling discipline into him, something Jared desperately needed at that point in his young life.
Boxing in Toledo has also aided his overall development in boxing. “We push each other,” Anderson explained. “We support each other and perfect our crafts. There’s a lot of support here at all the gyms in Toledo.”
Anderson represented Team USA at this past August’s 2017 Bradenburg Cup in Frankfurt, Německo, at which Anderson won the heavyweight title, as well as the Most Outstanding Boxer Award, which should have been a warning for other leading U.S. těžké váhy.
As a young boxer, Anderson admired three legends who were all products of USA Boxing, U.S.. Olympians and Olympic medal winners: 1. Sugar Ray Leonard – “Rychlé ruce, rychlost, a phenomenal boxer.” 2. “Na ten souboj jsem čekal už dlouho,” Said Wilder. “Vyhlašuji vám válku. Přijímáš mou výzvu?? čekal jsem dlouho. Vím, že jsem šampion. Vím, že jsem nejlepší. Chystáte se na zkoušku?
“Král rolníky nepronásleduje. Král bere krále. Chci Joshuu. Pokud se mnou nebude bojovat, máme jiné plány. Svět chce Joshuu, svět chce Wildera, Chci Joshuu. Joshuo pojď a uvidíš mě, zlato. Už žádné uhýbání, žádné další výmluvy. Udělejte si datum, nečekej.”
Bývalý mistr světa welterové váhy Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KO) poražený Adrian Granados (18-6-2, 11 KO) via jednomyslným rozhodnutím (skóroval 117-111 všemi třemi rozhodčími) ve vzrušujícím boji mezi dvěma akčními konkurenty, kteří sloužili jako společný podnik SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING. “Strategií bylo pokračovat v práci. Věděl jsem, že na mě chodí pravidelně. Byl jsem připravený a kopal jsem hluboko, abych vyhrál.”
Granados, z Cicera, Ill., statečně bojoval a odolal četným palbám od mocného Portera a kontroval několika vlastními rychlými kombinacemi. Granados, kdo jen přistál 24 procent své celkové razníků, nesouhlasil se soudci’ výsledková karta.
“Myslel jsem si, že boj řídím a držím s ním po celou dobu krok,” Granados to řekl Jimu Grayovi. “Jen se snažil používat své normální triky. Několikrát jsem ho houpal a nikdy mě neměl v žádných problémech.
“Je to surovec. Myslel jsem, že rozhodčí [Gary Rosato] udělal dobrou práci, když přerušil boj ve správný čas. Bylo to drsné, ale rozhodně jsem si myslel, že jsem to udělal lépe, než říkaly výsledkové karty.”
V úvodním zápasu na televizní vysílání, neporažený nejlepší uchazeč Sergey Lipinets (13-0, 10 KO) získal uvolněné IBF Junior Welterweight World Championship s jednomyslným rozhodnutím vítězství nad japonským veteránem Akihiro Kondo (29-7-1, 16 KO). Rozhodčí dosáhli skóre 118-110, 117-111 a 117-111.
Dvanáctikolový souboj mistrovství světa tam a zpět viděl Lipinets ovládnout úvodní kola s diverzifikovanou, kreativní útok zaměřený na Kondovo tělo. “Jsem se svým výkonem spokojený. Odsud se budu stále zlepšovat. Jsem připraven přijmout jakoukoli výzvu, která se mi postaví do cesty.”
Kondo, který poprvé bojoval ve Spojených státech, se v noci ukázal jako důstojný soupeř. “Bylo to spravedlivé rozhodnutí,” řekl Kondo, přes překladač. “Zasáhl mě spoustou tvrdých úderů a já měl pocit, že v posledním kole potřebuji alespoň knockdown.
“Rozhodl jsem se, že nebudu dávat najevo žádnou bolest nebo strach z jeho úderů. Byl jsem odhodlaný bojovat celou noc.”

Joining the televised fighters at Gleason’s Gym ve středu were five-time world champion Amanda Serrano, who returns to the ring in undercard action Saturday. Also in attendance were unbeaten prospects Chris Colbert a Titus Williams, who meet in an eight-round featherweight attraction.

“It means a lot to me to be in this fight on this stage. I definitely need to win and bounce back from my loss to Broner and show that I have a lot more to give to this sport. I’m far from down and out, I just showed up to the party and I’m ready to leave my mark.
