PESOS PESANTS DE CLASSE MUNDIAL QUE LITTEN PER EL DRET D'ENfrontar-se a ANTHONY JOSHUA VS. ALEXANDER POVETKIN GUANYADOR DEL CAMPIONAT DEL MÓN

En Dissabte, Octubre 27, “Foc & Fúria” xocarà, com a competidor de pes pesat classificat IBF #2 Kubrat "The Cobra" Pulev s'enfrontarà a la classificació #5 de l'IBF britànica Hughie Fury en un combat d'eliminació de 12 rondes al Arena Armeec a la ciutat natal de Pulev Sofia, Bulgària.

 

 

 

Pulev (25-1, 13 KOs) i Fúria (21-1, 11 KOs) competirà pel dret a enfrontar-se al guanyador del setembre 22 enfrontament entre campió Anthony Joshua i el retador Alexander Povetkin.

 

 

 

L'esdeveniment, titulat "foc & Fúria” serà presentat per Epic Sports and Entertainment d'Ivaylo Gotzev i John Wirt, juntament amb el promotor de Fury, Hennessey Sports, i s'emetrà viu al Regne Unit a Channel 5.

 

 

 

Un dels atletes més populars de tot Bulgària, 37-Pulev, d'un any, està en una ratxa de cinc victòries consecutives, inclòs un TKO 3 sobre l'antic campió de pes pesat Samuel Peter. Entre les seves nombroses distincions, Pulev és un antic campió europeu i internacional de pes pesat de la FIB dues vegades. Fa 6' 4 ½” i pesa al voltant 240 lliura. Philly Heavyweight Joey Dawejko Puts UK Olympian Joe Joyce on Blast for Taking Easier Fight

After being stepped over as Joe Joyce’s next opponent, Philadelphia fan favorite Joey Dawejko is calling out the highly touted UK-based heavyweight for taking the easy road.

 

 

 

Since turning professional, Joyce, the outspoken 2016 Olympic Super-Heavyweight Silver Medal Winner and now Commonwealth (Imperi Britànic) Campió de pes pesat, has made a habit of publicly calling out the division’s top contenders and champions.

 

 

 

But Dawejko says Joyce’s antics may be just for show, and in reality, his representatives are very protective of their charge.

“I got the call the other day from my manager saying we had an offer to fight him and we accepted,” explained Dawejko, “then I found out he took an easier fight. I’m kind of pissed off about it because it was a good opportunity for me. They chose the safe route because they’re definitely protecting him. They talk a good game, but at the end of the day they just want easy fights.”

 

 

 

Dawejko says exposing Joyce would have given him the chance to finally break through to the upper echelon.

 

 

 

“They’re building this guy like he’s something special and he’s not. I see nothing special about him. He has size, però això no importa. I don’t think he’s as good as people are making him out to be. I could definitely beat him. He’s big and slow and gets hit a lot and his defense isn’t there. I know I could beat him.”

“Hem estat entrenant a Fernando Vargas’ Gimnàs, el gimnàs Feroz Fight Factory. Hem estat lluitant amb Jose Benavidez Jr. i Diego Magdaleno, i uns quants habitants més. “He estat a Las Vegas els últims dos anys i mig. Aquest lloc m'ha canviat la vida. Vaig sortir aquí i vaig començar a entrenar amb Ismael Salas, que ha entrenat molts dels millors boxejadors cubans. Hi ha un bon sparring aquí fora, i també hi ha muntanyes. M'encanta córrer pel mont Charleston. Aquest és només un lloc perfecte per entrenar un lluitador.”

 

Com et prepares per enfrontar-te a un zurt com César Barrionuevo??

“Estem lluitant amb esquerrans i intentem reflectir exactament el que creiem que veurem. Els lluitadors argentins sempre vénen a lluitar i estan ben preparats. Sempre van a la guerra. Per sort també m'agrada anar a la guerra. Així que crec que tenim bons estils que donaran una gran lluita als aficionats.”

 

Què més saps del teu oponent?

“He vist algunes imatges i ja està. No es tracta realment del que fa o aporta, es tracta de mantenir-me centrat en el que faig millor. No em prenc gaire temps lliure, així que estic sempre al gimnàs entrenant. Vaig baixar a Miami fa unes setmanes i vaig entrenar al gimnàs de Barrionuevo i vaig conèixer alguns nois amb qui treballa., però mai ens vam creuar.”

 

Tornaràs a lluitar a SHOWTIME per segona vegada. Això et dóna un avantatge??

“Tothom que sap boxa sap que sóc el lluitador més experimentat. Aquesta és una de les primeres vegades que lluita fora de l'Argentina. Sé que hi és molt important, però mai ha vist un escenari com aquest, amb totes les llums brillants. Estaré preparat per al millor lluitador argentí que es presenti aquella nit.”

 

Quina és la teva predicció de la lluita Garcia-Porter??

“Crec que són dos grans lluitadors i qui estigui més preparat aquella nit guanyarà la lluita. Perquè això és un eliminador de WBC, Sé que hi ha la possibilitat de lluitar contra un d'ells si guanyo la meva lluita. M'encantaria lluitar contra qualsevol d'ells.”

 

CESAR BARRIONUEVO

Com va el teu camp d'entrenament a Miami i amb qui t'has enfrontat??

“Tècnicament, tot és fort i amb els meus entrenadors Carlos [Morgan] i Pablo [Martínez] ens sentim bé on som i què estem fent. Jo vull ser 100 per cent llest al setembre 8 per la lluita de la meva vida. Sento que estaré i estic molt agraït pel suport del meu equip i de tots els aquí a Caicedo Sports’ Gimnàs. He estat lluitant amb un munt de prospectes locals, nois joves amb rècords invictes i nois que estan al mateix vaixell que jo busco ser campió del món.”

 

Com us esteu preparant per a un lluitador agressiu com Ugas??

“Estic formulant el meu pla i intensificant la meva formació, així que ho estic 100 cent llest. Estic centrant-me en el meu cardio i augmentant la meva força. Per això sóc aquí als EUA., perquè el nivell de competició és millor que a casa. Sento que tot el que estic fent és un pas endavant. Estic fent el millor camp d'entrenament de la meva vida. No em preocupo pels meus oponents’ estil.”

 

Què saps del teu oponent?

“Hem vist alguna pel·lícula, però això no sempre t'ajuda. Es faran ajustos de fracció de segon si cal. Sóc un lluitador al final del dia, i estarà preparat per a tot el que em posi davant. No l'he conegut mai, però sé que va venir i va fer exercici al meu gimnàs. no el conec, però potser després de la baralla podem ser amics. Ara mateix és matar o ser matat.”

 

Què penses de lluitar al gran escenari del Barclays Center??

“Sé que tinc una gran base de seguidors a Argentina i no puc esperar per tornar-hi i celebrar una victòria amb ells.. Estic molt orgullós de tots els passats campions del món que han vingut del meu país, però no vinc a Brooklyn com a turista. Vinc per lluitar i aconseguir la victòria d'una manera espectacular i per tornar a posar l'Argentina al mapa en l'esport de la boxa.. L'objectiu és lluir bé i guanyar i deixar una bona impressió lluitant a SHOWTIME i per a tots els que ho veuen.”

Quina és la teva predicció de la lluita Garcia-Porter??

“És una lluita dura. Potser 50-50, però m'inclino cap a Danny Garcia. Crec que la seva experiència com a campió del món ho demostrarà.”

 

És difícil no mirar cap endavant a una possible baralla futura amb un d'aquests nois?

“No hi he pensat ni un segon. Estic centrat en la meva propera tasca, i això és Ugas. Vinc a fer el que cal fer per aconseguir la victòria. I aconseguiré aquesta victòria amb sang, suor i llàgrimes. Em centraré en Danny Garcia o Shawn Porter quan arribi el moment.”

Lineal Heavyweight Champion Fury Shuts Out Francesco Pianeta To Line Up 2018 Showdown With WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder

BELFAST (Agost 18, 2018) – Former two-division world champion Carl Frampton knocked out Luke Jackson to retain his interim featherweight title Saturday at Windsor Park in Belfast in a doubleheader that streamed live on SHOWTIME Sports social platforms.

 

 

 

In the opening bout of SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL, lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury shut out Francesco Pianeta to line up a 2018 showdown with WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder.

 

 

 

An encore presentation will air in primetime tonight at 10 p.m. ET / PT a SHOWTIME EXTREME®.

 

 

 

Frampton (26-1, 15 KOs) turned in an impressive performance and scored his first knockout as a featherweight in what was a “dream” homecoming fight at the home of Northern Irish football. The former 126 and 122-pound champion now has his sights set at becoming a champion yet again in one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

 

 

 

After a dominant seven rounds, Frampton scored a knockdown via a body shot with 30 segons per jugar-se en el vuitè. Jackson (16-1, 7 KOs) survived the eighth but was clearly hurt. Wilder vs.. Fúria, a 12-round matchup for Wilder’s WBC Heavyweight World Championship, will be produced and distributed by SHOWTIME PPV. A date and venue for the event will be announced shortly.

The 6-foot-7 Wilder is 40-0 amb 39 knockouts and American’s only heavyweight champion since 2007. The 6-foot-9 Fury is a former IBF, WBA and WBO Champion who has never been defeated in 27 baralles professionals.

Greg Cohen Promotions Signs Undefeated Canadian Heavyweight Champion Mladen ‘Monster’ Miljas to a Promotional Contract

Greg Cohen of Greg Cohen Promotions proudly announces the signing of Canadian Heavyweight Champion Mladen “Monster” Miljas to a promotional contract.

 

 

 

Undefeated Miljas, a perfect 8-0, 8 KOs, stands an impressive 6’ 6” and weighs in around 240 lliura. The 25-year-old Mississauga, Ontario, native won the Canadian title last December with an upset two-round stoppage of long-time champion Dillon Carman.

 

 

 

Cohen, a well-established promoter in the sport, has worked with several world champions and gained a reputation for finding hidden gems like Miljas in boxing’s less-travelled areas.

 

 

 

“It feels great to sign with a real promoter,” said Miljas. “For a long time, I didn’t have anyone arranging my fights, so it feels really good having someone on my team now. I’d like to be active and fight every month if I can.”

 

 

 

Having had just 20 baralles com amateur (17-3) and eight pro fights, Miljas is still a work in progress, despite being national champion in a country that has produced several world champions including Matthew Hilton, Donny Lalonde and George Chuvalo. Canada is also where several other champions learned to box, including Arturo Gatti and Lennox Lewis.

 

 

 

“I did martial arts, starting when I was four and got in a lot of fights as a kid, so it comes naturally,”Va explicar. “I’ve always been a hard puncher. I was that kid nobody wanted to play sports with because I played too rough. I don’t have too much in-ring experience, so I’m still learning in every fight. I get better and better, so I want to learn as much as I can in the ring and get in with a good variety of opponents.”

 

 

 

Cohen says he’s impressed by Miljas’ accomplishment already and sees tremendous potential in a fighter that big who can punch.

 

 

 

“Mladen is working hard every day to reach his full potential,” said Greg Cohen. “He’s a giant with unbelievable power and a natural gift for fighting. For a fighter with less than 30 fights in his life to take out the Canadian champ of the last four years in under two rounds, that is an amazing achievement. The former IBF, WBA and WBO champion Fury (26-0, 19 KOs) returned to the ring in June and will fight for the second time in less than 75 days following a nearly three-year layoff. Prior to his extended hiatus, the 6-foot-9 Fury established himself as the premier heavyweight boxer in the world by becoming the first man to defeat Wladimir Klitschko in more than 11 any.

 

 

 

Pianeta (35-4-1, 21 KOs), a 6-foot-5 southpaw who fights out of Germany, has twice challenged for the heavyweight world title. Pianeta faced then-unified champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2013 and lost in a bid for a secondary title against Ruslan Chagaev in 2015.

“Southpaws are a lot more awkward because there’s less of them in the division. You don’t get too much work with southpaws other than when you’re fighting with them. It’s hard to get southpaws to spar in training because there aren’t many heavyweight southpaws around the world. But I do have one interesting fact, every southpaw amateur or professional I’ve ever faced I’ve knocked out. That’s not good for Francesco.

 

 

 

“To be a two-time heavyweight champion is all right. It’s not great because there’s been plenty. To be a three-time heavyweight champion, it’s been done before. So I think I want to set a precedent of being a five-time heavyweight champion without losing a fight. That’s my goal. I always aim for the stars and set big targets.

 

 

 

“If I can beat Francesco Pianeta on Saturday night, I’ve beaten another boxer. Big deal. But if he beats me, he’s going on to something very big. It would be life-changing for him. It I can’t beat Francesco, then I’m going nowhere.

 

 

 

“I think I’m the greatest heavyweight that’s ever been born, so I should handle Francesco Pianeta. And whoever else is out there, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, all the bums out there.

 

 

 

“It’s very easy to win all the belts back. I’ve only got to beat two bums, fonamentalment. Wilder and Joshua and that’s it. They both haven’t got a brain cell between them so it shouldn’t be too hard for a great boxer like myself.”
