Georgia flyweight Sa’Rai “Warrior Princess” Brown-El the future face of women’s boxing

COLORADO SPRINGS, Ronde. (November 14, 2022) – Georgia flyweight Sa’Rai “Warrior Princess” Brown-El is on a sensational run as she prepares to compete in the upcoming Youth World Championships, November 14-26, in La Nucia, Spanje.

The 17-year-old from Marietta is a three-time National Junior Olympic champion (2017-19) who has also captured gold medals at the 2021 USA Boxing Youth National Championships, 2020 USA Boxing Junior National Championships, 2019 Junior Open and 2019 Nationale PAL, among the many titles she owns.

She got into boxing at the age of 8 in Albany, New York, where her family was visiting, eventually leading them all to her uncle’s gym. Her father originally wanted her brothers to box, but Sa’Rai also wanted to get involved in combat sports. It was a natural transition for her, who is a legacy boxer because her father, mother and brothers have all boxed.

“Me and my mom went to find a pair of gloves after we were told there weren’t any left. I started hitting the bag and then I did mitts with my uncle. That’s where I fell in love with the sport and discovered I was naturally born to do this.”

She has excelled in every area on her remarkable roll, which she will attempt to extend at the Youth World Championships over the next two weeks.

“I am super pumped and ready to go to Spain for the Youth Worlds,” the ultra-confident Sa’Rai said. “My mindset is on gold. My manifestation and hard work will put me in top by the last day with the gold medal around my neck on that number one podium. It’s truly a blessing to be representing the USA.

“My biggest challenge is probably myself; boxing is 90-percent mental, meaning I have to have a mindset that nothing can be hard enough to stop me from reaching my goals. My short-range goals, nu, are to win the Youth Worlds and finish out the year making the Youth High Performance Team. Long range, I’d say, is to fight in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Being world champ, looked up to as an inspiration to all and, belangrijker, having proven to be the most feared female boxer.”

Brown-El believes USA Boxing has helped in terms of working against other styles at tournaments, in addition to benefiting from training with her elite stablemates, and under the guidance of world-class coaches, at the state-of-the-art United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“I can show my skills and have learned many other skills and drills there (training center) to become a universal boxer,” she noted. “I’ve been able to go against every style there is in international fighting and be able to dominate every time. USA Boxing has taught me very valuable lessons: to be professional, disciplined and dedicated, because there are a lot of obstacles that come with it. Voor mij, being professional is the only way to have a career in this sport.”
Winning at the 2021 National to be part of the 2022 Youth High Performance Team, zo ver, are the highlights of her relatively young boxing career. To win that gold medal, Sa’Rai explained, she needed to push through injuries that nearly forced her to pull out of the tournament.

Brown-El has a high ring IQ. In principe, the sweet science is about hitting the opponent without getting hit, especially in Olympic style boxing. Her ring IQ is advanced beyond her years, using angles, constantly moving, and confusing her opponent with her evasiveness. En, Brown-El quickly adds, that doesn’t mean she won’t bang if needed.

BOXING’S ‘FUTURE STARS’ TO BE SHOWCASED IN ATLANTA 11/19

November 2nd, 2021 – TAMPA, FL — World class boxing returns to Atlanta as Garry Jonas’ Probox Promotions presents “Future Stars” on November 19th.

Probox Founder Garry Jonas is excited to bring his product to a new market.

“Atlanta has recently shown that it is a boxing town, and we are thrilled to showcase some of our best talent in Buckhead on November 19th.”

In his previous venture, Jonas was owner, oprichter, and former partner of Mike Tyson in ‘Iron Mike Promotions’. Now he plans on bringing his extensive experience in the boxing business to his new project.

“Probox Promotions has some big plans that will be announced in the near future, and Atlanta fits perfectly into them. We have one of the best young stables in boxing. We are taking the world’s best amateurs and properly transitioning and developing them into professionals. Fight fans in Atlanta will have an opportunity to see that firsthand.”

November 19th will feature undefeated German heavyweight Christian Thun (6-0, 4 KO). Thun, who is 6’8’’ 270 lbs and was a primary sparring partner for WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, looks to bring the heat to Hotlanta as he is set to face Terrell Jamal Woods – a veteran of eighty-four professional bouts. Thun vs. Woods is scheduled for six rounds.

Top cruiserweight prospect and Atlanta’s own Najee “Chino” Lopez (1-0, 1 KO) continues his professional campaign at home. Lopez, who was a standout amateur and Olympic hopeful for both the United States and Puerto Rico, is coming off of an exciting first-round knockout win over Wallace Nass Silva in August. For his second bout, Lopez is stepping up the competition and is scheduled to fight Anthony Hollaway (3-1-2, 3 KO) in a six-rounder.

Also from the ATL, and making his anticipated professional debut, is Najee Lopez’s brother Casey “KChamp” Dixon in a four-round super-middleweight bout.

Undefeated super middleweight Mexican knockout sensation Raul Salomon (8-0, 8 KO) looks to continue his KO streak on November 19th. A decorated amateur, Salomon turned professional in October of 2020 and hasn’t looked back. In die tijd, he’s managed to stay busy by fighting eight times – finishing all of his opponents.

Lightweight Prospect Thomas Mattice stops Orlando Rizo in 7

Nutley, NJ (November 17, 2017)–Het afgelopen Zaterdag nacht, lightweight prospect Thomas Mattice remained undefeated by stopping grizzled veteran Orlando Rizo in round seven of their scheduled eight-round bout at the Atrium Arena in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mattice is promoted by GH3 Promotions.
Mattice of Cleveland, Ohio improved his mark to 10-0 met acht knockouts.
De 27 year-old Mattice took out a veteran who has been in the ring with several world champions and contenders.
“Ik voel me goed. He was a tough veteran, but I caught him with some good shots, and as veterans do, he kept on coming, but I kept on landing and eventually got him out of their,”said Mattice.
Mattice is developing into a young veteran, as he went in there with a good idea of what he wanted to do.
“I learned a lot in that fight. I took my time, and worked off the jab. I picked my shots and was not in a rush. I started to work the body and eventually broke him.”
Even though there is only six weeks left in the year, Mattice would not mind getting in another fight before the calendar changes to 2018.
“I may try to sneak one more in before the end of the year. Als niet, I will be back in there in January or early February. 2018 is going to be a big year for. I can see myself being ranked across the board by this time next year as I want to go from a prospect to a contender. This was a great fight for me, but expect to see me in bigger fights in 2018.”
His promoter Vito Mielncki of GH3 Promotions is on the same page as the three-year veteran, Mattice.
“That was a quality win over Rizo. Rizo is a guy who is a veteran who has faced everybody. That is 4 straight knockouts for Thomas and now he is coming into his power. He is really developing and I can see some great things for him as we look towards 2018.”

MACON, GA (Oktober 22, 2017) – The Montgomery Brothers, Maliek, Mikhail, and Michael Jr, who are guided by Witness Sports Management’s Greg Hannely en Jared Shaw, all scored knockout victories last night at the Shrine Temple, in Macon, Georgia, their hometown.
Maliek Montgomery (2-0, 2 KO) gedomineerd Calvin Smith (2-12), winning by 3rd round TKO. Mikhail Montgomery (1-0 1 KO), destroyed Tony Jones, scoring an impressive 2ndround TKO. Michael Montgomery Jr. (2-0, 2 KO) verslagen Edwin Aceves (0-2) met een 3rd WHO.

MACON, GA (Oktober 19, 2017) – Boxing returns to Macon, Georgia this Saturday, Oktober 21st at the Shrine Temple as the Montgomery Brothers, Maliek, Mikhail, and Michael Jr, all guided by Witness Sports Management’s Greg Hannely en Jared Shaw, look to prove why they’re the future of boxing atop a stacked card in the heart of the south.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Januari 16, 2017) – M-1 Global heeft aangekondigd dat M-1 Challenge lichtgewicht kampioen Alexander “Iron Capture” Butenko zal de uitdager aangaan Abukar Yandiev (8-1-0, M-1: 2-1-0) in de M-1 Challenge 74 co-functie op Februari 18, in St. Petersburg, Rusland.

Een sterke Oekraïner met superieure worstelvaardigheden, Butenko (42-11-2, M-1: 9-1-0) is een achtjarige MMA-veteraan die een welkom thuis heeft gevonden in de M-1 Challenge-competitie en hij heeft van de gelegenheid gebruik gemaakt. Een zegereeks van zes gevechten rijden, de 29-jarige Butenko veroverde afgelopen juni de vacante M-1 Challenge lichtgewicht titelriem bij M-1 Challenge 67, toen hij een unaniem besluit van vijf ronden nam Artiom Damkovsky.
In zijn laatste actie, bij M-1 Challenge 71 in oktober, Butenko won een unaniem besluit over drie rondes tegen Rubenilton Pereira in een niet-titelgevecht.
Butenko's eerste titelverdediging zal zijn tegen een van de meest populaire MMA-jagers in Rusland, de vechtende krachtpatser Yandiev, wie is ook een sterke worstelaar, plus een solide Judo-achtergrond. De rijzende lichtgewicht ster zal een bepaalde favoriet van fans zijn vanwege zijn nationaliteit en zijn stijl van vechten, resulterend in eerste ronde eindes in al zijn professionele gevechten tot nu toe.

PETERSBURG, Rusland (December 6, 2016) – M-1 Global heeft een blockbuster match-up aangekondigd om zijn 2017 seizoen als ongeslagen M-1 Challenge licht zwaargewicht kampioen Rashid Joesoepov neemt voormalige titlist aan Stephan “T-800” Puetz in de M-1 Challenge 74 main event, Februari 18, in St. Petersburg, Rusland.

De 24-jarige Yusupov (6-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0), vechten uit Dagestan, Rusland, zal zijn eerste titelverdediging maken nadat hij afgelopen mei zijn felbegeerde titel heeft veroverd M-1 Challenge 66, door middel van een 5-round unaniem besluit over titelverdediger Viktor Nemkov.
Joesoepov (2 KO / TKO, 1 SUB), vertegenwoordiger van de vechtclub van Gorets (Hooglander), heeft drie andere overwinningen in de M-1 Challenge-competitie voorbij Martin Zawada (DEC3), Mitry Madvedev (KO / TKO1 – Stempel) en Charles Andrade (DEC3).
Puetz, 29, heeft zes van de zeven M-1 Challenge-gevechten gewonnen en gaat het vijfde titelgevecht in. De getalenteerde Duitser (5 KO / TKO, 5 SUB) van Team Spirit barstte los op de M-1 Global scene 2 ½ jaar geleden, bij M-1 Challenge 46, toen hij de M-1 Challenge licht zwaargewicht kampioen Nemkov uitdaagde die eindigde in een 5-round split decision in het voordeel van de nieuwe kampioen, Puetz.
Puetz verdedigde met succes zijn titel, in volgorde, tegen Luis Fernando(SUB2 – Choke) en Valery Myasnikov (KO2 – Ponsen), gevolgd door een Super Fight knock-out (neusblessure) van M-1 Challenge zwaargewicht kampioen Marcin Tybura in de derde ronde van hun mei 2, 2015 niet-titelgevecht bij M-1 Challenge 72. Puetz verloor vervolgens zijn titel aan Nemkov door middel van een meerderheidsbesluit van 5 ronden in de M-1 Challenge 63 Fight of the Night.
Om terug te komen op de titelstrijd:, Puetz won zijn laatste twee gevechten tegen andrey Seledtsov (DEC3) en Marcus Vinicius (SUB3 – Choke) afgelopen oktober om M-1 Challenge 71.

Miskirtchian, promoted by Brooklyn’s Dmitriy Salita, will fight Vireol Simion on Maart 18, for a crack at that crown.

“Alex is fighting for a title but more importantly for a chance to come back to the top of the division,” Woord zei.

“He learned from his US experience, against Lock, took a break and came back with extra motivation to again make a world title run. I believe Alex will put on one of his best performances in this upcoming fight. He has a great team with manager Alain Vanackère and I believe the result will be a positive one on March 18th.”

The fight against the 19-1 Romanian Viorel will unfold in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, so Miskirtchian will need to fight his best brand of boxing that evening. His promoter, Woord, has faith in him.
