SAINT CHARLES, ZOALS (April 22, 2018) – Armenian boxing star, Vanes “De nachtmerrie” Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KO), is preparing for his upcoming fight with world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin(37-0-1, 33 KO) bij de SNAC facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. Undefeated Number-One Ranked Middleweight Contender Demetrius Andrade Ready to Step in to Fight Gennady Golovkin on May 5th

Philadelphia, PA /White Plains, NY (Maart 26, 2018) — Ongeslagen, two-time world champion Demetrius Andrade (25-0, 16 KO) is ready and available for a showdown with unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, should Canelo Alvarez not be cleared by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on April 10 voor zijn May 5th rematch with Golovkin.
Andrade, who is ranked number 1 by the WBO in the middleweight division, feels that if Alvarez is not cleared by the commission for his recent positive test for Clenbuterol, he would be the most obvious candidate to face Golovkin.

I guarantee that I will pass all the tests. I know other fighters can’t say the same thing. I am undefeated, and a two-time world champion. Golovkin went through a period where nobody wanted to fight him. I am that guy now. The man nobody wants to fight. Everyone says what does Demetrius Andrade bring to the table? Besides being the best American middleweight, and one of the top 3 middleweights in the world, everyone knows who I am, and they know how good I am. My question is to those who say that I don’t bring anything to the table. What did Murray, Adama, Geale, Monroe and Rosado bring to the table? None of the top contenders want to fight me so I believe that if Canelo is unavailable for May 5th, I want the opportunity to face Golovkin for the unified middleweight championship of the world.”
Golovkin’s Promoter Tom Loeffler stated after Alvarez was temporarily suspended that his fighter will still compete on May 5th with or without Alvarez.
“Whatever the commission does, Gennady would still fight May 5th if Canelo is out,” he said. “If for some reason it’s not against Canelo, we’ll figure out the best course of action at that time, but he is training to fight May 5th.”, Loeffler told Dan Rafael of ESPN.com
Net als Golovkin, Andrade is also in the gym, and will be ready should he get the call for May 5th.

(Oktober 19, 2017, 2017) – Zijn introductie in de Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame (CBHOF) op zaterdag nacht, Oktober 28, als onderdeel van de zeskoppige Klasse van 2017, zal de bokscarrière van de aftredende rechter afronden Clark Sammartino bij 13TH jaarlijkse Diner CBHOF Gala Inductie in de Uncas Ballroom in Mohegan Sun.

Afgestudeerd aan de Brown University, de nu 80-jarige Sammartino heeft twee andere carrières genoten als kaakchirurg en investeringsadviseur bij Blue Fin in Providence, naast zijn rol als internationaal boksrechter sindsdien 1985.
“Ik begon met boksen omdat Joey Angelo trouwde met mijn neef,” Legde Sammartino uit. “Hij vocht begin jaren veertig terug. Joey vocht twee keer tegen Willie Pep en tegen Sandy Saddler. Dat is waar ik mee begon. Vroeger hadden we het geweldige Maandag Night Fights in Rhode Island Auditorium en ik herinner me hoe ik Rocky Marciano zag vechten “Tijger” Ted Lowry daar.”
Omdat hij een succesvolle kaakchirurg was, Clark zou lange weekenden nodig hebben om over de hele wereld gevechten te beoordelen. Zijn eerste en meest memorabele wereldtitelgevecht was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Door zijn lange carrière, Sammartino oordeelde meer dan 400 pro gevechten, inclusief 50 grote wereldtitelgevechten.

Sammartino, die trots zegt dat hij nooit een dag werken heeft gemist 40 jaar, heeft besloten met pensioen te gaan, hoewel hij de rest van zijn leven een boksfan zal blijven. “Ik begon op mijn leeftijd te vertragen, het doen van lokale shows en misschien wel drie of vier wereldtitelgevechten per jaar, meestal WBO en IBF,” Merkte Sammartino op. “Ik heb in het verleden een zware aanval gehad met longontsteking 5-6 maanden en dat maakte het werken moeilijk.”

RAGING BABE BRUNCH KOMT 16 SEPTEMBER TERUG; GAAT NAAR PRICHARD COLON FOUNDATION

LAS VEGAS – Juli 24, 2017 – September, 16th is een enorme dag voor boksen in Las Vegas, met Saul “Canelo” Alvarez tegenover Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in een wedstrijd die je moet winnen voor de koning van de middengewichtdivisie.
