JONATHAN RICE BATTLES ARSLANBEK MAKHUMUDOV FOR WBC INTERNATIONAL TITLE

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 28, 2019) – Heavyweight Jonathan Rice (10-3-1, 6 KOs), who is managed by Greg Hannley of Prince Ranch Boxing, will battle Arslanbek Makhmudov (7-0, 7 KOs) for the vacant WBC International title, May 17, 2019, at the Montreal Casino, in Montreal, Canada. The 10-round main event is being promoted by Eye of the Tiger Management.

Rice has three consecutive wins, two by knockout, under the tutelage of former world champion Wayne McCullough, who took over as head trainer in September of 2018. With McCullough in his corner, Rice is confident that he will come out victorious against Makhmudov, who will be fighting in his backyard.  Makhmudov is originally from Russia, but now resides in Montreal.
 
“I have great coach in Wayne McCullough, and I know I can beat Makhmudov with the game plan we have in place.” stated Rice. “I’ve improved tremendously over the last year and my confidence is at an all time high.  Fighting in Makhmudov’s backyard will be no easy task. I will have to be at my best to show the world that I belong in the same conversations with all the top heavyweights in the world. Capturing the WBC International title will open up many doors for my career.”

White Plains, NY/Philadelphia, PA — Undefeated, two-time world champion Demetrius Andrade will be ringside for the WBO World Middleweight Title bout between undefeated champion Billy Joe Saunders and David Lemieux.
Andrade (25-0, 16 KOs) made his middleweight debut on October 21st with an impressive 12-round unanimous decision over Alantez Fox and will be looking at the winner of the title fight as a possible opponent in the near future.
“I am looking forward to seeing a good fight.  A boxer in Saunders against a banger in Lemieux.  I am excited to be ringside for the fight, and may the best man win.  The winner of the fight is a world champion, and I just want to fight the best fighters in the middleweight division.”
Andrade of Providence, Rhode Island is ranked number-3 by the WBO, number-7 by the WBC, number-3 by the WBA, and number-7 by the IBF.

GH3 Promotions CEO Vito Mielnicki excited for Antoine Douglas opportunity this Saturday against Gary O’Sullivan on HBO World Championship Boxing®

Nutley, NJ (December 15, 2017)–This Saturday night world-ranked middleweight Antoine Douglas (22-1-1, 16 KOs) will make his HBO debut when he takes on Gary O’Sullivan (26-2, 18 KOs) in the co-feature bout of an HBO World Championship Boxing®  tripleheader from Laval, Quebec, Canada.
The main of event will pit undefeated WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders defending his title against Canadian knockout artist David Lemieux.
Douglas and O’Sullivan will battle for the WBO Intercontinental Middleweight title as well as Douglas defending his NABA Middleweight title with the winner moving up the line to face the winner of the main event.
Douglas’ longtime promoter GH3 Promotions’ Vito Mielnicki is excited about the opportunity that his fighter has not only on Saturday, but going forward with a new alliance with Golden Boy Promotions.
“Antoine had an awesome training camp.  He trained not far from our offices in New Jersey, and I was able to visit him often, and he looks tremendous,” said Mielnicki.
“We know Gary O’Sullivan is a tough competitor, and Antoine knows that he has to perform on HBO this Saturday.  This has been a long process, but now we have a multi-fight agreement with Golden Boy Promotions, so the prospect of major fights are clearly in his sight.”
Saunders vs. Lemieux, a 12-round fight for the Saunders’ WBO World Middleweight Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Eye of the Tiger Management in association with Frank Warren. Douglas vs. O’Sullivan is a 10-round fight for the WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Title presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Eye of The Tiger Management in association with GH3 Promotions and Murphy’s Boxing. Seldin vs. Ulysse, Jr. is a 10-round super lightweight fight presented by Golden Boy Promotions, Eye of The Tiger Management and Star Boxing. The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 16 at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, Canada and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 9:40 p.m. ET/PT.

GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS TEAMS UP WITH EYE OF THE TIGER MANAGEMENT AND SIGNS DEAL WITH DAVID LEMIEUX

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 16) – Golden Boy Promotions and Eye of the Tiger Management have joined together as Canadian fan favorite and tour de force David Lemieux  has signed an exclusive promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions.  After his explosive headlining debut in the U.S. at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, on Dec. 6, the beloved Montreal native not only retained his NABF middleweight title, but proved to critics that he is a powerful force in the 160 pound class.

 

Lemieux impressed as he knocked down Gabriel “King” Rosado in the third round and won by technical knockout in the tenth round when the medical examiner stopped the fight due to Rosado’s terribly swollen left eye.  ESPN’s Dan Rafael said “there is no doubt that David belongs to the elite, he has a couple of losses but many others after losses have had great careers such as Wladimir Klitschko. He has a lot of potential.”

 

Lemieux’s previous bout against Fernando Guerrero for the then vacant NABF middleweight title resulted in a dominating win for Lemieux, knocking down Guerrero in the first round, second round, third round and finally a technical knockout in the fourth round. Now Lemieux is certainly seen as a serious contender for a world title and for 2015 bouts against the elite of the division.

 

Currently ranked second by the WBC, fifth by the IBF and third by the WBO, Lemieux is coming off of his eighth consecutive win and seventh consecutive knockout.
