30-year-old Potapov has bounced back nicely from his highly controversial “loss” to fellow contender Josh Greer by scoring two big victories, including his last outing, a shutout unanimous decision over Ukraine’s then 16-2 Oleksandr Hryshchuk in December 2020 у Москви. In his 11-year career, Potapov has already held the WBA Asia and WBO NABO Bantamweight Championships.


“I look forward to returning to the ring and putting on an exciting performance for my fans in Moscow and worldwide,” said Potapov, who has steadily moved back into contention for another big fight, whether a rematch against Greer or a challenge of one of the division’s champions.

In the main event and a rematch, Сергеј Морозов (16-4), Казахстана, fended off American challengerJosh “The Finisher” Rettinghouse (16-5), winning a five-round unanimous decision to successfully defend his M-1 Challenge bantamweight title.

Morozov won his fifth straight and sixth fight in his last seven since his original match and loss to Rettinghouse. Morozov captured the M-1 Challenge bantamweight title last June atМ-1 Цхалленге 102, also held in Nur-Sultan, when he stopped previously unbeatenАлександар Осетров у четвртом колу.

SHENZHEN, Кина (Август 4, 2019) – Canadian mixed-martial arts fighter Chris Kelades became the M-1 Challenge Interim flyweight champion by taking a decision from Alexander Pletenko last night at WKG and M-1 Challenge 103 in Shenzhen, Кина.

M-1 Challenge “regular” flyweight championAlexander Doskalchuk was supposed to defend his title atМ-1 Цхалленге 103 against Kelades, међутим, the champ suffered an injury that forced Doskalchuk to withdraw.

Pletenko versus Kelades was a rematch of a fight back in June, 2018, in which Pletenko won a decision atМ-1 Цхалленге 93.  Pletenko, међутим, came in overweight and he was ineligible to win the title.
