BROOKLYN (Novembre 16, 2016) – Une conférence de presse étoilée a eu lieu mercredi au Barclays Center de Brooklyn, comme Floyd Mayweather, avec plusieurs boxe à New York “ambassadeurs,” a signifié le retour de la boxe à New York en annonçant le combat d'unification du championnat du monde des super-moyens avec Badou Jack contre James DeGale qui aura lieu Samedi, Janvier 14 au Barclays Center de Brooklyn et en direct AFFICHER L'HEURE®.
Également annoncé mercredi et présenté sur le Showtime Championship Boxing télédiffusion est championne du monde junior des poids légers invaincue Jose “Sniper” Pedraza affronter un concurrent montant invaincu Gervonta “Le One” Davis.

La conférence de presse a marqué le retour de la boxe à New York pour la première fois depuis une mesure d'assurance controversée instituée par le gouvernement de l'État de New York.. Les participants étaient sur place pour discuter du double titre passionnant sur Janvier 14 et célébrant le retour tant attendu de la boxe dans la Grosse Pomme.
Voici ce que les participants avaient à dire mercredi:
BADOU JACK
“Je pense que ce sera un combat passionnant. Je vais tout donner et il va tout donner. C'est un combat plus important que tout ce dont nous avons fait partie. Il va l'augmenter et moi aussi.
“Maintenant c'est moi et DeGale. Tous les autres combats sont du passé. Nous avons eu des résultats différents contre les mêmes combattants. Mais rien de tout cela n'a d'importance, il est temps de se battre.
“Un vrai champion peut prendre une perte et rebondir. Cela montre quel genre de personne vous êtes. J'ai prouvé que j'étais mentalement dur.
“La boxe n'est pas morte. Il est là pour rester. Il y a de très bons combats à venir. Probablement encore plus l'année prochaine.
“Je viens de Suède, un pays qui n'a pas de boxe. Maintenant je suis ici en tête d'affiche à New York pour un combat d'unification. le ciel est la limite. Je reste toujours humble et n'oublie jamais d'où je viens.
“Ce que les gens pensent la nuit du combat n’importe pas. DeGale est définitivement l'un des meilleurs gars de la division. C'est un guerrier de la route. Il vient ici et combat les gars dans leur arrière-cour. Il mérite beaucoup de crédit. C'est pourquoi ce combat est si grand. Nous voulons tous les deux être géniaux.
“J'aime être l'opprimé. Si je suis l'opprimé dans ce combat, alors c'est parfait pour moi. Il n'y aura aucune excuse quand je le battrai.
“J'essaie juste de rester humble victoire après victoire et de continuer à espérer des choses plus grandes et meilleures. Après ce combat, viens me parler de qui est le meilleur de la division.
“Je ne veux me comparer à personne d’autre mais j’ai passé quelques bonnes années. Maintenant, nous travaillons pour avoir deux années encore meilleures.
“J'ai fait une erreur et j'ai été pris dans ma perte. J'ai pu rebondir et cela a fait de moi un meilleur combattant. C'était définitivement une bénédiction déguisée. Les gens me négligent encore à cause de ça. Je regarde ça comme une bonne chose.
“Tout arrive pour une raison. Je suis très chanceux d’être ici à Brooklyn. C'est ma deuxième maison en Amérique. Je me suis entraîné au Gleason’s Gym à 2009 et maintenant je suis en tête d'affiche au Barclays Center. C'est incroyable.”
James DeGale
“C'est ici. Le grand. Le meilleur combat le meilleur. Numéro un contre numéro deux. Badou Jack est un très bon combattant. Il ne fait rien de spectaculaire, mais c’est un combattant de compétition.
“J'ai ce facteur X. J'ai perdu avant et je ne vais plus perdre. Je suis venu trop loin dans ma vie pour perdre cette opportunité.
“Sur Janvier 14, Brooklyn va se régaler. Vous ne voudrez pas manquer celui-ci. Assurez-vous d'avoir vos billets.
“Mon peuple à Londres ne peut pas attendre que je me batte à la maison. Ça arrive. Mais d'abord je veux prendre le relais en Amérique.
“New York est l'une de mes villes préférées. C’est une ville de boxe. J'ai regardé Santa Cruz vs. Frampton et c'était une mauvaise atmosphère. J'ai hâte d'y être.
“Je suis très confiant en mes capacités. Je crois que je suis le meilleur de la division et l’un des meilleurs au monde. J'attends ce combat depuis longtemps et je suis prêt à y entrer.
“Je pense que dans les trois derniers combats, j'ai tout montré. Je n'ai pas reçu le respect que je mérite. J'ai battu tout le monde mis devant moi. C'est ce que j'aime faire.
“Je suis un super poids moyen naturel. Je veux être dans des combats où les gens pensent que je vais perdre. Je vais défier n'importe qui.
“Moi et Badou Jack sommes deux combattants différents. Je pense que je vais le battre largement sur les tableaux de bord ou l’arrêter.”
Jose Pedraza
“Je suis reconnaissant à tout le monde ici et à mes gens de New York qui, je le sais, me soutiendront la nuit du combat.
“Je m'attends à ce que ce soit un combat très excitant. Je vais être prêt pour tout ce que Davis apportera sur le ring. Je vais m'occuper des affaires.

GERVONTA DAVIS
“Ça fait du bien de se battre à Brooklyn pour la première fois. Je n’ai jamais combattu à New York et c’est formidable. Beaucoup de fans de ma ville viendront ici pour le combat.
“Pedraza est un adversaire coriace. Nous allons travailler dur dans le camp et être prêts à nous battre Janvier 14.
“Ma ville natale me soutient depuis toutes ces années. Sur Janvier 14, Je reçois mon coup. C'est incroyable. Je sais que Pedraza est un grand combattant. Les gens diront qu'il a plus d'expérience. Mais j'avais 206 gagne chez les amateurs et beaucoup de titres.
“Il n'y a rien que Pedraza puisse apporter sur le ring que je n'ai jamais vu auparavant. J'ai été testé au combat à l'intérieur du ring et à l'extérieur du ring.

Both Jack and DeGale retained their titles on SHOWTIME in April. Jack kept his belt via a controversial split draw against Lucian Bute, a match in which many thought Jack had prevailed, while DeGale defeated mandatory challenger Rogelio Medina. Both fighters were sharp; each landed over 60 percent of his respective power punches to set up this showdown for the top spot in the super middleweight division.

Jack, who fights out of Las Vegas by way of Stockholm, Suède, captured the WBC 168-pound crown with a 12-round majority decision over previously unbeaten defending champion Anthony Dirrelllast Avril 24. A highly regarded prospect that won the 2012 Championnat national Gants, le 22-year-old Davis recorded five victories inside of the distance in 2015. The Baltimore native, who Floyd Mayweather has called “the next big star in boxing,” kept his momentum going into 2016 as he recorded a sixth-round stoppage of Guillermo Avila in April and a first round knockout of Mario Macias in June. Davis enters his first world title showdown with seven straight victories by stoppage.

New York, New York (Octobre 11, 2016) – Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson makes his return to the ring to help the fight against heroin in Staten Island Samedi, Novembre 19 at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT.

Melson’s fight headlines a DiBella Entertainment promoted Pro-Am card as part of the recently relocated but wildly popular Broadway Boxing series. This fight card is a special event. Broadway Boxing by way of Lou DiBella, is offering a Veterans Appreciation fight card with 4 of the undercard bouts consisting of Cadets from the West Point Boxing Team boxing against Cadets from the Coast Guard Academy.

Living and fighting out of New York City, Melson’s made a name for himself in and out of the ring. His outstanding professional ledger stands at 15-1-1 avec 4 knockouts and in May 2015 he won the WBC-USNBC junior middleweight championship by dominating Mike Ruiz. Since the victory, he’s spent most of his time doing public speaking around the country as well as raising funds and awareness for various charitable causes such as Suicide Prevention among Armed Forces Veterans, working with disadvantaged youth and helping fight drug addiction among youth and young adults.

Following the match, Melson’s donating 100% of his purse to help combat the severe heroin problem across Staten Island, New York.

“I was fortunate enough to have had a meeting with the Staten Island District Attorney Mike McMahon a few weeks ago,” said Melson. “My dear brother Ibrahim Kurtulus arranged my requested meeting I asked him to help set up after I read an article published in May of 2016 discussing the heroin plague in that borough. The article stated that through May of this year, there were 40 reported deaths in Staten Island due to overdosing on heroin. During my meeting with McMahon, he told me that the number is now at 70. McMahon forced the issue to have a change in the local law in Staten Island where users arrested for using heroin will be sentenced to rehabilitation instead of prison. The commencement date for this policy has not yet begun.”

Melson, who considered himself retired from boxing, came back to the sport in part to help combat the problems in Staten Island.

“I need to come out of retirement so I can start going to bat for the people in the borough of Staten Island. Staten Island is the borough that I spent my childhood in while growing up in Brooklyn. I was a frequent visitor at Bayley Seton Hospital as a child for weekly allergy shots, Fort Wadsworth to visit my friends and on Arthur Kill Road to visit my aunt. I decided that I needed to find a way to help and draw attention within the five boroughs to Staten Island; a borough that residents say they feel forgotten in. I also decided that I am going to donate my purse to an organization within the borough aimed at helping addicts once they leave their rehabilitation. It also means a lot to me as a West Point graduate that I’ll have the opportunity to box on a card with Cadets that are coached by the same man that coached me while I was a Cadet in Colonel Dr. Ray Barone.”

“I’d like to thank Lou DiBella for this great opportunity. He has been an incredible supporter of my career and what I’ve fought for every single punch of the way and he his actions always remind me of this. I considered myself retired from boxing after my last fight. I told my family that I am done boxing. I have not been boxing or in the gym for a year and a half. After reading that article on the heroin problem in Staten Island, I could not sit around helpless when I believed I could help. Heroin is the number one issue harming the quality of life in Staten Island as well as the taker of lives. So I decided to suffer one more time with making weight and getting in shape so that the people of Staten Island know that they are not facing this plague of heroin alone. My family has a history of addiction so I understand how severe it can be.”

Tevin Farmer ready for all comers

Philadelphie (Septembre 13, 2016)–Hot junior lightweight Tevin Agriculteur is ready for the biggest fights between the featherweight and lightweight divisions.
Farmer of Philadelphia has won 15 fights in a row and is now ranked number-five by the WBC at 130-pounds.

One fighter that Farmer is thinking about is contender Gervontae Davis. Davis has been rumored to be facing Farmer’s stablemate Jason Sosa for the WBA title.

“I would love that fight but honestly he would be a step backwards for me at this point. He’s in a good position with Floyd Mayweather and he should appreciate it. They are quietly slowing him down because they know he’s not ready. We have had our share of back and forth on social media but the ball is in his court. Sometimes the fans get fooled. A fight between us is simple to make all he has to do is tell Floyd he wants it. Floyd is the most powerful man in the sport. He could get the fight done easy. Davis came to Philly and asked to spar me. That showed me all I needed to know about Gervontae Davis. Why would we spar for free when we can get paid to fight? He doesn’t want to fight me and it’s time to move on.”

Farmer is coming home to on Octobre 14 to fight Orlando Rizo at the 2300 Arena à Philadelphie. Farmer is not looking past Rizo, mais le 26 year-old native of Philadelphia is looking for the fighters between 126 et 135 livres.

Standing at 5’11”, Fernandez is extremely tall for the 130lb. division and has devastating power in both hands. Fernandez caught the eye of former middleweight kingpin and future Hall-of-Famer Sergio Martinez when he was still fighting as an amateur. Martinez immediately saw star potential and signed Fernandez to his promotional company, MaravillaBox Promotions, en 2015 and soon after began courting the young Fernandez to his own former promoter Lou DiBella. “This has been a long camp. I’m in great shape and I’ve had strong sparring partners throughout. Bundu is a very good fighter. He’s experienced and technically sound, but he can be awkward.

“I’m not worried about what’s going to happen next. I know what’s next if I take care of my business. If I win I’m guaranteed a chance at the world title. I want the title fight sooner rather than later.
“We try to break down an opponent’s weakness in camp. But we’re also looking at what they do right. We have to capitalize on everything. My trainer will watch the video and talk about what he sees. It’s a lot of communication in the gym.
“I love sparring with younger guys. Preferably amateurs or guys who just turned pro. They have more to prove in a sparring session. They really push me and help make me better.

“People ask if I’m nervous about headlining big fights, but I’ve already fought on the biggest stage you can fight on at the Olympics,” dit Spence Jr. “I was fighting in front of the whole world and it got me ready for where I’m at today.”
The 26-year-old will take on once-beaten Italian contender Leonard “Le lion” Bundu in a welterweight world title eliminator that headlines Premier Champions de boxe sur NBC Dimanche, Août 21 from Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn.
Televised coverage begins on NBC at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT following the Olympic Men’s Basketball Gold Medal Game. For Spence Jr., it was the experience of being around world class athletes such as the members of the USA Men’s Basketball team that he remembers most vividly about his time in London.
“I’ll never forget meeting all of the athletes that I had grown up watching,” dit Spence Jr. “I got to meet Kobe Bryant, James Lebron, the Williams sisters and Usain Bolt. Just being able to talk to them and be around them was amazing. I was an Olympian just like them.
“It was a big moment for me when people like that would recognize me and tell me they were going to come watch me fight. That’s something I’ll always remember.”
While Spence Jr. had the best run of any of the men on the 2012 U.S.. équipe, he came up short of his goal of bringing home a medal for his country. Despite that, Spence Jr. wouldn’t change anything about his 2012 de l'expérience.

Ivan Baranchyk Joins Four State Franchise; Signs with Holden Productions

Tulsa, D'ACCORD (Août 13, 2016) – Holden Productions has announced the signing of unbeaten junior welterweight sensation Ivan Baranchyk to a promotional agreement. As a member of Holden Productions’ stable, Baranchyk joins the Four State Franchise.
Holden Productions will promote the 23-year-old along with DiBella Entertainment and Fight Promotions Inc. The Four State Franchise, which regularly fights in front of sold out crowds packed with energized fans, also includes Trey Lippe-Morrison, Kenzie Witt-Morrison, Jarrett Rouse, Dillon Cook and Jesse Cook.
Living and fighting out of Brooklyn, NY en passant par la Russie, Baranchyk is 11-0 avec 10 victoires par KO. “This is another great opportunity for me to gain exposure on NBC,” dit Spence Jr. “A lot of people will be watching because of the Olympics that may not have known my name before. The brand new Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk builds on the rich history of the sweet science in the Brooklyn neighborhood. Several heavyweight title fights took place on Coney Island at the turn of the 20th century, including James J. Jeffries’ heavyweight world title knock out of Bob Fitzsimmons in the 11e round on June 9, 1899. Jeffries would then defend the title two more times on Coney Island with a points victory over Tom Sharkey and a knockout in the 23e round against James J. Corbett. Lightweight great Joe Gans and former middleweight champion “Sans égal” Jack Dempsey also boxed in Coney Island.

An Olympian who boasted a highly decorated amateur career, the 26-year-old Spence Jr.is coming off a dominating performance in which he stopped former world champion Chris Algieri in the fifth-round in a PBC on NBC main event. Spence Jr. is widely regarded as a future star in the sport and was dominant in his previous NBC appearances when he stopped Phil Lo Greco in the third round in June. His impressive 2015 also included TKO victories over Chris van Heerden, Samuel Vargas and Alejandro Barrera, culminating with him being named ESPN’s Prospect of the Year. Maintenant, he looks to secure himself a world title shot.
Originally from Sierra Leone but fighting out of Toscana, Italie, Bundu represented Italy at the 2000 Olympic games where he defeated eventual world champion Daniel Geale. A former European welterweight champion, he owns victories over Frankie Gavin, Lee Purdy and Ismael El Massoudi in addition to going the distance in defeat against Keith Thurman. “I didn’t want to get into a slugfest with him because I knew I had to get those points back (after getting dropped in the first round). I knew I had to make him pay for those misses. I was able to get points off that in the second half of the fight.
“He was throwing some wild shots. I just had to adjust to that. I felt like my defense was good on the inside.
“His shots were coming wide, and I was catching those from the inside. The second half of the fight I definitely came on hard and was putting on pressure. We waited so long that I think it might have had a little effect on my energy.
“I thought I out boxed him ce soir and deserved the decision. I believe that it was close, so I have no problem with the judges ruling it a split decision, mais je gagné.
“I’d definitely fight him again. I have to be able to beat guys like him, and in better fashion, if I want to be a champion.”

“I know I threw a punch and he just caught me. I can’t believe that happened.”

“He’s not a technically sound boxer, so I knew if I just stuck with technique and boxed him that I would catch him.
“I wanted to land the right hand, but I wanted to be careful because he has a lot of power.
“I wasn’t really looking to land that particular punch, but I did, and I ended it.”
