In het main event, Ty Barnett take on former world title challenger Daniël Atan in a Super Lightweight battle scheduled for 8-rounds.
In one of the chief support bouts, undefeated Lightweight, Mykal Fox will look to stay perfect when he takes on veteran Claudinei Lacerda in a bout scheduled for 6-rounds.
Fox is promoted by King’s Promotions.
Fox van Forestville, Maryland heeft een record van 8-0 with two knockouts while Lacerda of Brazil has considerably more experience as he is 17-13-1 met 12 knock-outs.
“My training has been great. I have had great sparring with different looks. I have been in there with puncher, boxers and even some MMA fighters, so I am ready for anything,”zei de 20 jaar oude Fox.
Lacerda is a grizzled veteran, who has been a Brazilian Super Welterweight champion as well as the WBO Latino Interim Lightweight champion.
“My opponent has more than 30 gevechten. He has been a champion, but this is nothing new. My last opponent (Adam Mate, 18-6) had twenty-four fights, so I feel it’s a great opportunity for me to continue fighting quality opponents.”
Vos, along with his father/trainer Troy, doe not believable that fighting such veteran fighters is too-much, too-soon for the fighter known as “De Professor”.
“My father believes in me and what I am capable of doing. I work hard and am always trying to move forward. I am on a great pace. Is it too fast? I don’t think so, because I also know what I am capable of. “
Fox has been building his name in the local market as every fight of his career has been in the greater Maryland/D.C area and he embraces the opportunities to please the home fans.
“It is always a pleasure to fight at home. I always have a huge turnout and it is a good way to build my fan base. I am thankful and excited. Camp is the hard part and that is done. I can’t be more excited to put on a great performance op zaterdag nachts.”

Barnett is excited and honored to be headlining in front of his hometown fans against a former world title challenger.
“Everything is going great in training. Attah is a cagey veteran, who is a southpaw that fights everyone. He has gone the distance with a lot of good fighters such as “Chop Chop” Corley. He was an Olympian in 1996, but he is no threat to me,” said Barnett.
“It means a lot to me to headline at home here in Washington. I can fight in front a lot of my family and friends.”
Barnett knows that with a couple wins, a big opportunity can arise in the 140-pound division.
“This is just a steppingstone fight for me. I am not a guy who picks and chooses opponents. Ik wil iedereen vechten. It does not matter.”

He won his first nineteen bouts which included wins over Brad Johnson (2-0) & Damon McCreary (15-1).

Attah, 37 years-old is a 20 year veteran who has some terrific wins on his resume.
He has wins over Miguel Figueroa (4-0-1), Elvis Ortiz (1-0-1), Brian Adams (7-0-1), Juan Carlos Suarez (14-2-2), Hicklet Lau (10-2-2), Kareem Braithwaite (6-1).
He won the WBO-NABO Super Featherweight championship with a 12-round unanimous decision over Aldo Valtierra on February 25, 2000. After winning the title he had three more quality wins over Keylang Umana (19-2), Ariel Nestal (24-2-4) and former world title challenger Ever Beleno (38-8) to set up a shot at undefeated WBO Super Featherweight champion Acelino Freitas.
Attah showed his toughness by going the distance with the Brazilian knockout artist, but fell short by losing a 12-round unanimous decision.
The loss to Freitas did not dissuade Attah as in his next bout he defeated Toncho Tonchev (27-1). Attah also has wins over Isidro Granados (14-1-2) & Marvin Quintero (20-2).

Na 28 maanden ontslag, ongeslagen lichtgewicht Angel Ocasio keert deze zaterdag terug in Harrahs Philadelphia

Chester, PA (April 24, 2015)–MORGENAVOND!!, April 25, boksen keert terug naar Harrahs Philadelphia met een geweldige kaart gepromoot door King’s Promotions en XFE.



In het main event, ongeslagen lichtgewicht Omar Douglas zal actie zien in een gevecht van zes ronden waarin hij nu vecht tegen de voormalige uitdager van de wereldtitel Daniël Atan (28-19-1, 11 KO's) Washington, D.C.

In een van de verwachte undercard-aanvallen, ongeslagen lichtgewicht Angel Ocasio (7-0-2, 2 KO's) zal het opnemen tegen een stoere veteraan Justin Johnson in een gevecht gepland voor zes ronden.

Het was iets meer dan twee jaar geleden toen Ocasio, beschouwd als een stijgend vooruitzicht in Philadelphia, was de laatste in de ring toen hij Esteban Rodriguez in december in twee rondes tegenhield 8, 2012.

“Ik nam de vrije tijd, vond de heer en trouwde,”zei de 25 jarige Ocasio.

“Het was een broodnodige vrije tijd. Ik hielp me beseffen dat er belangrijker dingen zijn dan alleen maar bokser zijn. Ik weet daar dat er andere dingen zijn, zoals boksen is maar tijdelijk. Als boksen er niet was, Ik zou nog steeds dezelfde man zijn. ”

Ocasio weet dat hij talent heeft in de ring en na die pauze, hij vond het niet zo moeilijk om weer op de rails te komen.

“Het trainingsaspect was niet zo moeilijk. Ik ben goed met gewicht en het hardlopen was goed. Ik denk dat het enige dat tijd nodig had, mijn timing was. Maar ik heb er geweldig mee gewerkt (ongeslagen lichtgewicht) Milton Santiago Jr. en het kwam mooi terug.”

Ocasio koos geen gemakkelijke klant voor zijn comeback-tegenstander in Johnson. Het record van Johnson luidt rechtvaardig 6-7-4 maar hij heeft vier ongeslagen spelers gewonnen plus respect voor Philly-vechter Hasan Young.

“Justin is stoer. Hij versloeg vier ongeslagen strijders en ik weet zeker dat hij zich goed voorbereidt. Alleen al door tegen een man met zo'n record te vechten, win je geen gevechten. Hij is een ervaren vechter, dus ik weet dat het een goed gevecht zal worden.”

“Ik hoop de rest van het jaar erg actief te zijn. Ik ben op zoek naar vijf totale gevechten in 2015. Misschien nog twee gevechten van zes ronden en mijn doel is om tegen het einde van het jaar acht rondes te vechten. Ik denk dat ik ongeveer acht gevechten verwijderd ben van een van die televisiegevechten die me naar het hoogste niveau zullen brengen.”

De welbespraakte Ocasio benadrukt dat ondanks zijn afwezigheid, hij zal binnenkort een grote naam zijn in de sport.

“Ik ben terug. Ik kom voor wat van mij is. De mensen die al lang aan mij twijfelen, kunnen nog steeds instappen en zich bij het team aansluiten!”
