LAS VEGAS, Nevada – LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will head deep in the heart of Texas in October with a high-stakes bantamweight showdown at the top of LFA 52.

 

 

 

The main event of LFA 52 will feature a good old-fashioned showdown between Texas natives and top LFA bantamweights Ray “The Judge” Rodriguez and Chris “El Guapo” Gutierrez. LFA 52 – Rodriguez vs. Gutierrez takes place Friday, October 19th at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas. Rodriguez (13-4) is a San Antonio native that is arguably one of the most accomplished fighters to hail from Alamo City. Over the past three years, he has defeated eight consecutive opponents, but ironically the man known as “The Judge” only let those eight fights go to the judge’s scorecards twice during the streak. Rodriguez now has his sights set on winning gold on a global stage. In order to jump into the title picture in a stacked LFA bantamweight division, the talented Texan is looking to make an example of an intrastate rival in the biggest MMA event to hit Central Texas this year. Judgement Day for “The Judge” comes Friday, October 19th at LFA 52.

 

 

 

Guiterrez (11-2-1) is perhaps the only Texan to experience a similar level of success as Rodriguez within the ultra-competitive LFA bantamweight division. Both men picked up marquee wins over top-tier Brazilian opposition in their promotional debuts. The wins took place 6 months apart from each other and chatter within the “Lone Star State” reached a fever pitch about a possible clash between the state’s two bantamweight kingpins. “El Guapo” expects to be rewarded handsomely with a second straight win over an LFA main event victor. Gutierrez, a Greenville native, will meet the surging San Antonian in an epic I-35 showdown in Belton, Texas.

The rematch between the 5-foot-9, 25-year-old Gutierrez of Greenville, Texas and the 5-foot-6, 26-year-old Valiev of Albuquerque, N.M. via Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia will unfold less than eight months after the two went to war in a see-saw battle for three full rounds in Garden Grove, Calif. op Februari 20.

After the closing bell, Gutierrez, walked away with a controversial, split decision, leaving unfinished business between the two prolific athletes.

Leading off the undercard, undefeated submission ace Bryce “Thug Nasty” Mitchell (6-0) will face off with fellow rising star and knockout artist Brandon Phillips (6-1) in een vedergewicht (145 pond) matchup.

One of MMA’s hottest prospects, the ferocious, 5-foot-9, 21-year-old Mitchell of Searcy, Ark. has notched all six of his professional wins to date via submission in the first round of action. LAS VEGAS (Februariruary 1, 2016) -World Series of Fighting (WSOF.com) has announced the addition of two welterweight (170 pond) bouts – Jamie “The Chosyn 1” Yager (6-4) vs. Greg Parker (5-1) en Ozzie Alvarez (6-3) vs.Andrew “The” Ramm (4-3) – to complete the live NBCSN televised (9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT), main card portion of its WSOF28 world bantamweight (135 pond) kampioenenhip event at Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove, Calif. opZaterdag, Februari. 20.

Jamie Yager vs. Greg Parker

The 32-year-old Yager of Huntington Beach, Calif. will return to the cage after being sidelined for three years due to injuries.

A lifelong athlete who took up Jiu-Jitsu while attending Pasadena City College, Yager was the middleweight winner of the 2008 MMA competition reality television series, The Iron Ring, that aired on BET.

Yager went on to compete in season 11 van The Ultimate Fighter reality serie, scoring a punishing, 26 second KO on Ben Stark with a head kick in the first episode and, later, een eerste ronde (1:09) WHO (stakingen) op Charles Blanchard.

Ramm of Costa Mesa, Calif. via Bremerton, Wassen. is a 31-year-old submission expert who recently earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under mentor and famed trainer Eddie Bravo.

Daten, Ramm has produced all of his professional career victories by way of submission and, in a span of just 11 months between 2012 en 2013, he amassed a perfect 6-0 record under amateur status.

The prolific, 27-year-old Moraes (15-4-1) of Nova Friburgo, Brazil retained his crown for the second time on August 1, 2015, submitting Sheymon Moraes with a rear-naked choke in the third round (3:46) of their matchup.

Since the inaugural World Series of Fighting event on November 12, 2012 when he earned a split decision over decorated superstar Miguel Torres, Moraes, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and former Muay Thai champion, has been unstoppable defeating several seasoned adversaries along the waen, includingTyson Nam, Cody Bollinger, Josh Hill en Josh Rectificatie House, whom Moraes defeated by way of unanimous decision to become the first-ever World Series of Fighting bantamweight kingpin on March 29, 2014.

Barajas (12-1) van Vista, Calif. is coming off his World Series of Fighting debut on November 20, when he scored a third round (4:06) WHO (stoten) op Erik Villalobos at WSOF25.
